• JAVA Calendar - How to check if it's Saturday/Sunday ?

  What this code does is print the dates of the current week from Monday to Friday. It works fine, but I want to ask something else: If today is Saturday or Sunday I want it to show the next week... how do I do that? • Help make sense of a KillDisk error/log

  I have a hard drive that I've been trying to reformat. I tried reformatting it in the windows XP and 7 installers, and in an Ubuntu live cd with gparted. I tried using dd to 'zero' the drive as well with no success. Finally I ran across KillDisk after a search. • date_create_from_format equivalent for PHP 5.2 (or lower)

  Hi all, I'm working with PHP 5.3 on my local machine and needed to parse a UK date format (dd/mm/yyyy). I found that strtotime didn't work with that date format, so I used date_create_from_format instead - which works great. Now, my problem is that my staging server is running PHP 5.2, and date_create_from_format doesn't work on that version. (It's a shared server, and wouldn't have a clue how to upgrade it to PHP 5.3) So is there a similar function to date_create_from_format that I can use? Bespoke or PHP native? Many thanks, - Lee

The only issue I have is once i established a "Data connection"..how can I use those args for queries and searches.   In our web.config I am using the following tag to determine the interface language of an ASP.NET website. <globalization enableClientBasedCulture="true" culture="auto:en-GB" uiCulture="auto:en"/> This works as expected: Client wo request a specific localisation get it, everybody else is happily looking at the en-GB settings. Due to company policy I need to change the date format to the ISO 8601 standard format (YYYY-MM-DD) for everybody. Is this possible at a central place in the web.config or do I need to change this manually in every instance? Addition: Would it be possible to do get this date format when restricting the interface to english? Thanks! =)

  Checking if a user input is a valid date or a valid "date + time" is easy: .NET provides DateTime.TryParse (and, in addition, VB.NET provides IsDate). Now, I want to check if the user entered a date including a time component. So, when using a German locale, 31.12.2010 00:00 should be OK, but 31.12.2010 shouldn't. I know I could use DateTime.TryParseExact like this: Dim formats() As String = {"d.M.yyyy H:mm:ss", "dd.M.yyyy H:mm:ss", _ "d.MM.yyyy H:mm:ss", "d.MM.yyyy H:mm:ss", _ "d.M.yyyy H:mm", ...} Dim result = DateTime.TryParseExact(userInput, formats, _ Globalization.CultureInfo.CurrentCulture, ..., result) but then I would hard-code the German format of specifying dates (day dot month dot year), which is considered bad practice and will make trouble should we ever want to localize our application. In addition, formats would be quite a large list of all possible combinations (one digit, two digits, ...). Is there a more elegant solution?

  Maybe I'm seeing things.. In an attempt to turn a date with a format of "mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss PM" into military time, the following replacement of a row value does not seem to take. Even though I am sure I have done this before (with column values other than dates). Is there some reason that row["adate"] would not accept a value assigned to it in this case?   We have oracle running on Solaris, and the shell is by default CSH. So the login script set the oracle_home,oracle_sid in csh also. But I don't like csh and want to use bash to do my work. So how to source the csh login script in bash? e.g, the following is what in the .cshrc file. And when use bash, I'd like use these variables. One way is to copy the variables again and use bash command, such as export ORACLE_SID=TEST. But doing so will let us to maintain two copy of the files. And when we change the database name, or upgrade the database, I need to maintian the bash login file seperately.   I am trying to parse a date and I am getting different results when I run the code locally/BST compare to a server in Paris/CEST. I've reproduced the issue in a the following sample. This is trying to parse the start date for the Australian Grand Prix. But locally it prints 1269756000000 and in Paris 1269759600000. Any idea?

I just wanted to keep the same format of the original String date and make it into a Date object. I'm using Netbeans 6.8 Mac version.

• Python: convert buffer type of SQLITE column into string

  I am new to Python 2.6. I have been trying to fetch date datetime value which is in yyyy-mm-dd hh:m:ss format back in my Python program. On checking the column type in Python I get the error: 'buffer' object has no attribute 'decode'. I want to use the strptime() function to split the date data and use it but I can't find how to convert a buffer to string. • Javascript string to Date conversion - simple?

  Hi all, Yesterday I managed to solve this, then lost a day's work due to the death of a HD. Now I cannot remember what I did to fix it, but I know it can be done. Input: string date in the format 'm/d/yy', eg '12/25/10', or '4/1/10' (1st April) Output - Date object I'm working with date.js and date.format.js so have Date.fromString() and Date.format() avaiable. But trying multiple combinations is not giving me what I need. IF the date were 'mm/dd/yy' then it's simple. But I'm using jquery.datepicker.js which outputs in 'm/d/yy' and I don't want to change this much I know this conversion can be done. After a 22 hour day... I need help. Thanks. Mark...

  Consider the following table: Orders OrderId Date CustomerId 1000 2012-06-05 20:03:12.000 51 1001 2012-06-16 12:02:31.170 48 1002 2012-06-18 19:45:16.000 33 When I extract the Order data using FOR XML: SELECT OrderId AS 'Order/@Order-Id', Date AS 'Order/ShipDate', CustomerId AS 'Order/Customer' FROM Orders WHERE OrderId = 1000 FOR XML PATH ('') I get the following result: <Order Order-Id="1000"> <ShipDate>2010-02-20T16:03:12</ShipDate> <Customer>51</Customer> </Order> The problem is, the ShipDate value in the XML file needs to be in the format M/DD/YYYY H:mm:ss PM. How can I change the output of the ShipDate in the XML file to the desired format? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
