  • PHP ZendOptimizer on Red Hat Enterprise Linux

    I would like to install FlashMoto and the requirements are not unreasonable: PHP 5.2.1 or higher, Zend Optimizer 3.3 or higher. However my RHEL 5.4 provides me with PHP 5.1.6. So I tried the remi repository http://rpms.famillecollet.com/ but it gave me PHP 5.3.1 and Zend Optimizer from zend.com does not support anything higher than 5.2.x. I also tried the dag repo but it does not have PHP in any version. I also tried some RPMs that Oracle provides on their homepage but they don't provide php-mbstring that I also need. Does anyone know how to get PHP 5.2.1 installed on a RHEL 5.4? Then I can probably fix install the Zend thing. Thanks in advance.

    I am just starting out with Web Server 2008 and I am having some trouble working with the Roles Manager. I am working on installing the Application Server using the Roles Manager and what I am running into is that it will run me through the install and then alert me that the install file for .NET 3.0 is not found. ("The source for the specified file was not found. error value: 0x800F081F") I think tried to install 3.0 manually and I was told I cannot do so. So I basically wondering if there was somewhere for me to place the install file so Roles can access it. Thanks Levi

  • Vmware Player Network adaptors have no network or internet access in windows 7 enterprise

    As per the title. My VMWare player installation has setup the two network adaptor VMnet1 and VMnet8 and they are picked up as unidentified networks with no network access (i need this to activate my windows server installation on it). The option to change the network location is not available (this might be because of network policy on the domain despite having set this as configurable in the local security policy section). Is there anyway i can change how these networks are detected or alter the configuration of vmware to get around this?

Next I installed ADR 11.1.1.7 by first installing ADR 11.1.1.6, then patching the environment and running upgradeADF in wlst. All seems well except I cannot start EM.   • Windows 2003 Enterprise Server becomes unresponsive occasionally

    We're experiencing issues with our Windows 2003 server, which runs SQL Server 2005 SP1. We notice that sometimes the entire server becomes unresponsive and I captured a screenshot of the task manager when this happened. I noticed that the processes are not displayed during this time and all of the memory information and handles disappear (as shown in the screenshot). Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be wrong with this sytem? I'm planning to take it down over the weekend to run Memtest86. I also tried to run a ping when this occurred and I got the following error in the event log: "Application popup: ping.exe - Application Error: The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142).     We (our company) are planning to deploy Symantec Endpoint Protection and Symantec Desktop Recovery 2011 Desktop Edition to our 3000 - 4000 workstations (Windows7 32 and 64) with a few 100s with Windows XP 32/64 Bit. I have read the implementation guide for SEP and have read tech-notes for Desktop Recovery 2011. Our team have planned to deploy this as follows : 1 x dedicated SQL 2008R2 for Symantec Endpoint Protection (Instead of using the Embedded Database) 1 x Dedicated SQL 2008R2 for Symantec Desktop Recovery 2011 (Instead of using the Embedded Database) 1 x Dedicated W2K8 R2 Box for the SEPM (Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager - Mgmt. APP) 1 x Dedicated W2K8 R2 Box for the Symantec Desktop Recovery 2011 Management Application Agent Deployment : As per Symantec Documentation for both of the above, an agent can be pushed via the Mgmt. Application (provided no firewalls are blocking ports required etc. - we have Windows firewall disabled already). Above is the initial plan we have for 3000 - 4000 client workstation (Windows) Now my Questions :-) a) If we had these users distributed amongst two sites with AD DC / GC in each site, How would I restrict SEPM and Desktop Mgmt. solution to only check for users in their respective site ? b) At present all users are under one building but we are going to move some dept. to a new location (with dedicated connectivity), How would we control which SEPM / MGMT Server is responsible for which site ? c) What Hardware would you recommend as a Server spec for the SQL server 16GB RAM, Dual XEON? d) What Hardware would you recommend as a Server spec for the MGMT Servers 16GB RAM each with DUAL xeon and sas disks? e) Also, how do you or would you recommend to protect these 4 servers (2 x SQL and 2 x MGMT Servers)? f) How would you recommend to store backups for these desktops? We do have a SAN and a NAS in our environment and we do have one spare DAS (Dell MD3000). If you have anything to add / correct - that will be really helpful before diving into the actual implementation phase.     I have been trying to find the necessary command line switches for automating the upgrade for my Windows 8 clients to Windows 8.1. I have the ISO extracted and I've run setup.exe /? but that doesn't tell me enough. I can't find any relevant information from search engines. Can anyone point me to some documentation or information on how to automate the upgrade so that it keeps user data, programs, etc? I know how to do it when running the installer manually, but I obviously do not wish to do that with 100+ machines.

    I'm trying to set up an authenticated wifi network with Freeradius. I've managed to get things working using self-signed certs etc. The problem is Windows clients need to uncheck the "Automatically use my windows logon name and password [etc.]" option in the MSCHAPv2 settings. When I connect to my local university with Eduroam, it automatically asks for a username and password instead of sending windows login credentials. How did the sysadmins accomplish this? Is it some kind of RADIUS Attribute that gets sent back?

  • Problems enabling BitLocker on Windows 7 enterprise

    I had BitLocker turned on originally when I loaded the computer but had to turn it off to do some testing. I recently tried to turn it back on and I continue to get the following error: Blockquote A required TPM measurement is missing. If there is a bootable CD or DVD in your computer, remove it, restart the computer, and turn on BitLocker again. If the problem persists, ensure the master boot record is up to date. Blockquote I have verified that there is nothing in the DVD tray and that the laptop is not docked. I have also verified that TPM is running and I have no problems enabling BitLocker on a flash drive. I think it's a problem with my MBR since I am dual booting into Fedora as well but I am not sure how to fix it. (even though it did work a few months ago while I was also dual booted) Thank you for the help.

    Has anyone been able to successfully edit the Standard calendar in 2010? I'm trying to change the working times as none of our admin accounts seem able to do it. We're running Project Server 2010 RTM on SharePoint 2010 RTM with Project Pro 2010. When I click the Edit Calendar button in PWA it triggers Project client to open up but it just opens up an empty project and I've not access to edit the Standard calendar using any of the published steps. It would be great to hear if someone has managed to do this so I can work out if it's a general glitch in this build or is it just a problem with out setup.

  • Running programs in cache and registers

    In my operating systems class we were shown a picture depicting a hierarchy of memory starting from most expensive and fastest at the top and least expensive and slowest at the bottom. At the very top was registers and underneath it was cache. The professor said that the best place to run programs is in cache. I was wondering why programs can't be run in registers? Also, how can a program load itself into cache? Isn't the cache something that's controlled by the CPU and works automatically without software control?

  • Microsoft Outlook x Lotus Notes in enterprise environment

    I'm working in company (several thousands client computers) using tools like MS Outlook + Exchange + Sharepoint + Communication server. Now our mother company shared the idea that everything should be moved to IBM Lotus Notes + Domino. The reason for this is that Outlook based solution is too expensive (it is the official statement even they don't want to replace MS Office yet). Other reason probably is that they received a lot of licences for Lotus when they bought IBM servers to new data center. My question is: Is this reasonable change or is it just some management game and IBM's marketing? Will it really save money? Other question: Is Lotus better then MS solution? This is serious question, it is not mentioned to open any kind of flame war. I just don't believe the decission and I have never used Lotus tools.

  • How/where to find all Update (msu) packages for Windows 7 (Enterprise)

    Hi, I've been using Wim2Vhd to create native boot vhd files. (I'm using this to keep several development environments ready, I'm a developer, I know -- I need help ;-) Now the first boot always ends up in several minutes installing all of the windows updates... I' know I could avoid this if I had a massive list of qfe (.msu) packages that I could supply to the command line of Wim2Vhd. Where can I find all of the updates so I can download them. I have found this: http://www.megaleecher.net/Downloading_Microsoft_Windows_7_Offline_Updates but I'd like a more official source and I'd like an easier way to download them all. I'm a developer, so if I find the information (web service?) to get all the current packages, I'll build a tool to download them to a single location and generate a list of them for use with Wim2Vhd.

  • Why cant i install ANY operating system??

    I tested the memory and i tested the hard disk and everything is fine! Mini XP booted from Hirens Boot Disk works :( I tried Windows 7, Windows XP SP3 and even Ubuntu 10.04 :( All Operating Systems boots up to the point where they can load necessary files to start the OS and then resets the laptop Windows 7, only up to the point where the Windows Loading Animation is happening Ubuntu, only up to the point where the loading is done, shows a small screen and then goes to a blinking cursor and thats it... it keeps on blinking and sometimes resets the computer Windows XP SP3, loads all the drivers and everything and then the point where i should be able install the OS, it simply resets the laptop :( I have used the word reset instead of restart because the laptop completely turns off and then only turns back in Any solutions would be greatly appreciated

    Since most operating systems I've heard of besides Windows seem to derive their heritage from Unix, I've been curious whether any OS's with the following characteristics exist: Not generally considered Unix-like, i.e. wasn't designed with Unix compatibility as a primary goal, doesn't use X11 as its default GUI in the most common distributions, doesn't support Unix commands by default, etc. Not in the Windows NT family. Is a modern production operating system, not a purely legacy operating system, a research/hobby project or an OS that's still in an alpha state. Is targeted at commodity x86/x64 PC hardware.

  • Enabled Apache mod_status but server-status was not found on SUSE enterprise 11 SP1

    In /etc/apache2/httpd.conf, I have remove the line of Include mod_status and add the following to the last line, LoadModule status_module /usr/lib/apache2/mod_status.so ExtendedStatus On <Location /server-status> SetHandler server-status AllowOverride None Order Deny,Allow Deny from all Allow from all </Location> Then I restart Apache, and go to http://HOSTNAME/server-status, but I get the page not found, Did someone know why I get page not found? Is there any more step needed to do to see the Apache status? Thanks

    Somebody I know expressed irritation today regarding those of us who tend not to use spaces in our filenames, e.g. NamingThingsLikeThis.txt -- despite most modern operating systems supporting spaces in filenames. Are there technical reasons that it's still common to see file names without (appropriate) spaces? If so, what are these technical reasons that spaces in filenames are avoided or discouraged, and in what circumstances are they relevant? The most obvious reason I could think of, and why I typically avoid it, are the extra quotes required on the command line when dealing with such files. Are there any other significant technical reasons?

  • Server freezes while installing Redhat Enterprise Linux Server 6

    We've tried both the first options Install or upgrade an existing system Install system with basic video driver When trying option #1, it gets to a screen that has a solid cursor about halfway down, then freezes. When trying option #2, it freezes at the point where it says: Waiting for hardware to initialize... Of course, we bought the unsupported version and haven't found anything to help us so far. Here are the specs to the server in the original post: ASUS P8Z68-M Pro LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS RAIDMAX Reiter ATX-305WBP Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 450W Power Supply Intel Core i7-2600 Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 2000 BX80623I72600 16GB Ram OCZ Agility 3 SSD 120GB From some of the posts out there could the UEFI Bios or the Sandy Bridge processor be a culprit here? We just tried the DVD on a different computer and it got past that point with ease. It's a standard Dell build compared to our custom machine. Could it be having difficulty recognizing drivers? How do we get past that?
