  • sql query selecting one name no matter how many rows it was mentioned in

    - by Baruch
Basically what I'm trying to do is get the information from column x no matter how many times it was mentioned. means that if I have this kind of table: x | y | z ------+-------+-------- hello | one | bye hello | two | goodbye hi | three | see you so what I'm trying to do is create a query that would get all of the names that are mentions in the x column without duplicates and put it into a select list. my goal is that I would have a select list with TWO not THREE options, hello and hi this is what I have so far which isn't working. hope you guys know the answer to that: function getList(){ $options="<select id='names' style='margin-right:40px;'>"; $c_id = $_SESSION['id']; $sql="SELECT * FROM names"; $result=mysql_query($sql); $options.="<option value='blank'>-- Select something --</option>" ; while ($row=mysql_fetch_array($result)) { $name=$row["x"]; $options.="<option value='$name'>$name</option>"; } $options.= "</SELECT>"; return "$options"; } Sorry for confusing... i edited my source

  • Accessing "pseudo-globals" by their name as a string

    - by rob
I am now in the process of removing most globals from my code by enclosing everything in a function, turning the globals into "pseudo globals," that are all accessible from anywhere inside that function block. (function(){ var g = 1; var func f1 = function () { alert (g); } var func f2= function () { f1(); } })(); (technically this is only for my "release version", where I append all my files together into a single file and surround them with the above....my dev version still has typically one global per js file) This all works great except for one thing...there is one important place where I need to access some of these "globals" by string name. Previously, I could have done this: var name = "g"; alert (window[name]); and it did the same as alert(g); Now -- from inside the block -- I would like to do the same, on my pseudo-globals. But I can't, since they are no longer members of any parent object ("window"), even though are in scope. Any way to access them by string? Thanks...

  • Apache2 name based virtual host always redirect 301

    - by Francesco
I've got a server (runnging Debian Squeeze) with Apache 2.2, there are 4 site running there. I'm using namebased virtulhosts because I've got a single IP. Initial configuration has been made with Webmin and probably something has been messed up.. firstdomain.com is my default domain and is working correctly, seconddomain.com is another site that is working. Now I want to add lastdomain.tk as a new site, so I've made this config file: root@webamp:/etc/apache2# cat sites-available/lastdomain.tk.conf <VirtualHost *:80> DocumentRoot /home/server/Condivisione/RAID/lastdomain.tk ServerName www.alazanes.tk ServerAlias alazanes.tk </VirtualHost> I've added it to enabled-sites and restarted apache. The problem is that if I go to lastdomain.tk (or www.lastdomain.tk) I'm redirected to firstdomain.com with a 301 redirect. Both lastdomain.tk and www.lastdomain.tk are A DNS records pointing to my IP address. Strange thing is that if a change DocumentRoot of lastdomain.tk to DocumentRoot /home/server/Condivisione/RAID/Sito_SecondDomain I correctly see seconddomain.com content without being redirected (lastdomain.tk is showed on address bar) These are the other configurations I'm using. root@webamp:/root# source /etc/apache2/envvars ; /usr/sbin/apache2 -S VirtualHost configuration: wildcard NameVirtualHosts and _default_ servers: *:443 webamp.firstdomain.com (/etc/apache2/sites-enabled/ssl.bbteam:1) *:80 is a NameVirtualHost default server firstdomain.com (/etc/apache2/sites-enabled/000-default:7) port 80 namevhost firstdomain.com (/etc/apache2/sites-enabled/000-default:7) port 80 namevhost www.lastdomain.tk (/etc/apache2/sites-enabled/lastdomain.tk.conf:1) ## other domains ## port 80 namevhost seconddomain.com (/etc/apache2/sites-enabled/seconddomain.com.conf:1) Syntax OK Content of default config file is root@webamp:/etc/apache2# cat sites-available/default <VirtualHost *:80> ServerAdmin [email protected] ServerName firstdomain.com ServerAlias www.firstdomain.com direct.firstdomain.com DocumentRoot /home/server/Condivisione/RAID/Sito_Web_Apache_su_80 ErrorLog /var/log/apache2/error.log LogLevel warn CustomLog /var/log/apache2/access.log combined </VirtualHost> content of second domain config file is root@webamp:/etc/apache2# cat sites-available/seconddomain.com.conf <VirtualHost *:80> DocumentRoot /home/server/Condivisione/RAID/Sito_SecondDomain ServerName seconddomain.com ServerAlias www.seconddomain.com direct.seconddomain.com #redirect 301 / http://www.seconddomain.com/ <Directory "/home/server/Condivisione/RAID/Sito_SecondDomain"> allow from all Options +Indexes </Directory> </VirtualHost> Probably a file permission problem? root@webamp:/root# ls -lh /home/server/Condivisione/RAID/ total 7.1M drwxrwxr-x 15 www-data server 4.0K Jun 5 13:29 Sito_SecondDomain drwxrwxrwx 23 server server 4.0K Jun 7 16:22 Sito_Web_Apache_su_80 drwxrwxr-x 17 www-data server 4.0K Jun 8 09:56 alazanes.tk Do someone have an idea of what is happening? • Can't access network share with name defined in hosts file

    - by Einar Egilsson
I have a network share on a machine that I can only reach by IP address. I then defined an alias for the IP in my hosts file so I could use that instead of the IP but then I can't log on to the share, I just get the logon prompt again and again. So basically this: \\172.17.0.48\SomeShare works but this \\myalias\SomeShare doesn't. myalias is defined in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts as 172.17.0.48 myalias And I can use the alias for remote desktop without problems. Can anyone tell me why this doesn't work for fileshares?

  • Getting 400 Bad Request when requesting by server name on nginx/uwsgi

    - by Marc Hughes
I'm trying to run 2 different sites on nginx via different ports (they each have a load balancer that points to the appropriate port). The first site work perfectly. The second site... If I access http://localhost:81/ it works correctly If I access http://127.0.01:81/ it works correctly If I access the hostname http://THEHOSTNAME:81/ it fails with a 400 error If I access the public IP http://x.x.x.x:81/ it fails with a 400 error I've set the error_log to info, but the only lines I get in the log when this happens is: ==> /var/log/nginx/access.log <== 10.183.38.141 - - [24/Aug/2014:21:03:28 +0000] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 400 37 "-" "curl/7.36.0" "-" ==> /var/log/nginx/error.log <== 2014/08/24 21:03:28 [info] 7029#0: *5 client 10.183.38.141 closed keepalive connection In my uwsgi log, I only see this: [pid: 6870|app: 0|req: 87/92] 10.28.23.224 () {32 vars in 380 bytes} [Sun Aug 24 21:05:21 2014] GET / => generated 26 bytes in 1 msecs (HTTP/1.1 400) 2 headers in 82 bytes (1 switches on core 2) What should be my next step in debugging this?

  • MAMP - Host name changes to first vhost SSL entry for project with two localhosts

    - by user1322092
I have two projects that are a copy of each other on my Mac with MAMP. They both have SSL pages. However, whenever I hit the a secured SSL page of project 2, the base_url or host changes to project1 instead of remaining project2. I know this is an issue with the vhosts, because if I switch the order of the entries, the reverse happens. Here's my config files: /Applications/MAMP/conf/extra/httpd-ssl.conf <VirtualHost _default_:443> DocumentRoot "/Applications/MAMP/htdocs/proj1" ServerName proj1.localhost:443 ErrorLog "/Applications/MAMP/Library/logs/error_log" TransferLog "/Applications/MAMP/Library/logs/access_log" SSLEngine on SSLCertificateFile "/Applications/MAMP/conf/apache/ssl/server.crt" SSLCertificateKeyFile "/Applications/MAMP/conf/apache/ssl/server.key" </VirtualHost> <VirtualHost _default_:443> DocumentRoot "/Applications/MAMP/htdocs/proj2" ServerName proj2.localhost:443 ErrorLog "/Applications/MAMP/Library/logs/error_log" TransferLog "/Applications/MAMP/Library/logs/access_log" SSLEngine on SSLCertificateFile "/Applications/MAMP/conf/apache/ssl/server.crt" SSLCertificateKeyFile "/Applications/MAMP/conf/apache/ssl/server.key" </VirtualHost> -------------------- cat /etc/hosts ## # Host Database # # localhost is used to configure the loopback interface # when the system is booting. • Unix list absolute file name

    - by Matthew Adams
Given an arbitrary single argument representing a file (or directory, device, etc), how do I get the absolute path of the argument? I've seen many answers to this question involving find/ls/stat/readlink and $PWD, but none that suits my need. It looks like the closest answer is ksh's "whence" command, but I need it to work in sh/bash. Assume a file, foo.txt, is located in my home directory, /Users/matthew/foo.txt. I need the following behavior, despite what my current working directory is (I'm calling the command "abs"): (PWD is ~) $ abs foo.txt /Users/matthew/foo.txt $ abs ~/foo.txt /Users/matthew/foo.txt $ abs ./foo.txt /Users/matthew/foo.txt $ abs /Users/matthew/foo.txt /Users/matthew/foo.txt What would "abs" really be? TIA, Matthew

  • BIND authoritative name server: SERVFAIL?

    - by Luca Tettamanti
I have a BIND 9.6 instance that acts as a caching NS for the whole building and is also authoritative for an internal zone ("example" below): zone "example" { type master; file "example"; update-policy { grant dhcp-update subdomain example. A TXT; }; }; Due to a rogue switch we lost connectivity with the rest of the world, and the NS started answering SERVFAIL; what surprised me was that the server was also unable to respond to queries for the example domain. What is the reason of this behavior? Shouldn't the NS be able to answer since it has authoritative data? edit: The rest of the configuration is the standard one shipped with Debian: hints for the root servers and the zones for localhost and broadcast.

  • Nginx config rewriting subdomain name to 1st URI segment

    - by tim peterson
I'm unable to do the following nginx.conf rewrite: test.mysite.info to: mysite.info/test here's what i've tried: server { server_name test.mysite.info; rewrite ^ https://mysite.info/test/$request_uri; } I know my DNS (Route53 AWS) is correct b/c: test.mysite.info redirects to mysite.info (just not mysite.info/test) I have an Apache server handling mysite.com which using .htaccess I can rewrite test.mysite.com to mysite.com/test. I haven't changed anything else from the default nginx.conf installation so I'm totally confused as to why such a simple thing isn't working. Here is my full nginx.conf file if that is helpful.

  • How to open python scripts directly by typing in their name in terminal (Mac OS X)

    - by Haffi112
I'm working on installing django and running it on my system. I have a problem though, in this tutorial creating a project is explained by running the command django-admin.py startproject mysite My issue is that this doesn't work. I changed to the directory where django-admin.py is located and ran the command chmod +x django-admin.py with no results. I tried adding the directory with the file to my path without results. I ended up fixing my problem with this command python /location/of/django-admin.py startproject mysite which yielded the outcome I expected. My problem is: What do I need to change/configure such that command django-admin.py startproject mysite would be sufficient? Here are some experiments: 21:09~/Desktop/HI/NSN/Polls > django-admin.py startproject mysite -bash: django-admin.py: command not found 21:09~/Desktop/HI/NSN/Polls > ./django-admin.py startproject mysite -bash: ./django-admin.py: No such file or directory 21:09~/Desktop/HI/NSN/Polls > python django-admin.py startproject mysite python: can't open file 'django-admin.py': [Errno 2] No such file or directory 21:09~/Desktop/HI/NSN/Polls > /opt/local/lib/python2.4/site-packages/django/bin/django-admin.py startproject prufa1 -bash: /opt/local/lib/python2.4/site-packages/django/bin/django-admin.py: /opt/local/bin: bad interpreter: Permission denied 21:09~/Desktop/HI/NSN/Polls > sudo /opt/local/lib/python2.4/site-packages/django/bin/django-admin.py startproject prufa1Password: sudo: unable to execute /opt/local/lib/python2.4/site-packages/django/bin/django-admin.py: Permission denied 21:09~/Desktop/HI/NSN/Polls > sudo /opt/local/lib/python2.4/site-packages/django/bin/django-admin.py startproject prufa1sudo: unable to execute /opt/local/lib/python2.4/site-packages/django/bin/django-admin.py: Permission denied 21:09~/Desktop/HI/NSN/Polls > python /opt/local/lib/python2.4/site-packages/django/bin/django-admin.py startproject prufa1 21:09~/Desktop/HI/NSN/Polls > ls mysite prufa1 Final edit: The problem is solved, see Ian C's answer for the right solution. • Bacula & Multiple Tape Devices, and so on

    - by Tom O'Connor
Bacula won't make use of 2 tape devices simultaneously. (Search for #-#-# for the TL;DR) A little background, perhaps. In the process of trying to get a decent working backup solution (backing up 20TB ain't cheap, or easy) at $dayjob, we bought a bunch of things to make it work. Firstly, there's a Spectra Logic T50e autochanger, 40 slots of LTO5 goodness, and that robot's got a pair of IBM HH5 Ultrium LTO5 drives, connected via FibreChannel Arbitrated Loop to our backup server. There's the backup server.. A Dell R715 with 2x 16 core AMD 62xx CPUs, and 32GB of RAM. Yummy. That server's got 2 Emulex FCe-12000E cards, and an Intel X520-SR dual port 10GE NIC. We were also sold Commvault Backup (non-NDMP). Here's where it gets really complicated. Spectra Logic and Commvault both sent respective engineers, who set up the library and the software. Commvault was running fine, in so far as the controller was working fine. The Dell server has Ubuntu 12.04 server, and runs the MediaAgent for CommVault, and mounts our BlueArc NAS as NFS to a few mountpoints, like /home, and some stuff in /mnt. When backing up from the NFS mountpoints, we were seeing ~= 290GB/hr throughput. That's CRAP, considering we've got 20-odd TB to get through, in a <48 hour backup window. The rated maximum on the BlueArc is 700MB/s (2460GB/hr), the rated maximum write speed on the tape devices is 140MB/s, per drive, so that's 492GB/hr (or double it, for the total throughput). So, the next step was to benchmark NFS performance with IOzone, and it turns out that we get epic write performance (across 20 threads), and it's like 1.5-2.5TB/hr write, but read performance is fecking hopeless. I couldn't ever get higher than 343GB/hr maximum. So let's assume that the 343GB/hr is a theoretical maximum for read performance on the NAS, then we should in theory be able to get that performance out of a) CommVault, and b) any other backup agent. Not the case. Commvault seems to only ever give me 200-250GB/hr throughput, and out of experimentation, I installed Bacula to see what the state of play there is. If, for example, Bacula gave consistently better performance and speeds than Commvault, then we'd be able to say "**$.$ Refunds Plz $.$**" #-#-# Alas, I found a different problem with Bacula. Commvault seems pretty happy to read from one part of the mountpoint with one thread, and stream that to a Tape device, whilst reading from some other directory with the other thread, and writing to the 2nd drive in the autochanger. I can't for the life of me get Bacula to mount and write to two tape drives simultaneously. Things I've tried: Setting Maximum Concurrent Jobs = 20 in the Director, File and Storage Daemons Setting Prefer Mounted Volumes = no in the Job Definition Setting multiple devices in the Autochanger resource. Documentation seems to be very single-drive centric, and we feel a little like we've strapped a rocket to a hamster, with this one. The majority of example Bacula configurations are for DDS4 drives, manual tape swapping, and FreeBSD or IRIX systems. I should probably add that I'm not too bothered if this isn't possible, but I'd be surprised. I basically want to use Bacula as proof to stick it to the software vendors that they're overpriced ;) I read somewhere that @KyleBrandt has done something similar with a modern Tape solution.. I have a crontab like this on a LAMP setup: 0 0 * * * /some/path/to/a/file.php > $HOME/cron.log 2>&1 This writes the output of the file to cron.log. However, when it runs again, it overwrites whatever was previously in the file. How can I get cron to output to a file with a timestamp in its filename? An example filename would be something like this: 2010-02-26-000000-cron.log I don't really care about the format, as long as it has a timestamp of some kind. Thanks in advance.

  • Can SPF records contain domain name wildcards?

    - by deltanovember
Part of my SPF record contains: include:google.com I'm still getting soft fail because the actual e-mail is delivered by the following Received: from mail-yx0-f172.google.com (mail-yx0-f172.google.com [209.85.213.172] Which has a completely different IP from google.com. However I don't want to put in mail-yx0-f172.google.com because it might be dynamic. Is there some equivalent of *.google.com that I can use in the record

  • apache name virtual host - two domains and SSL

    - by Tom
    I'm trying to setup Apache(2.2.3) to run two websites with SSL using both different domains and IP addresses. Both websites run fine on port 80 but when I tried to enable SSL for website2 I get a ssl_error_bad_cert_domain error; website2 picks up the SSL cert for website1. Here is my setup in httpd.conf: # Website1 NameVirtualHost 192.168.10.1:80 <VirtualHost 192.168.10.1:80> DocumentRoot /var/www/html ServerName www.website1.org </VirtualHost> NameVirtualHost 192.168.10.1:443 <VirtualHost 192.168.10.1:443> SSLEngine On SSLCertificateFile conf/ssl/website1.cer SSLCertificateKeyFile conf/ssl/website1.key </VirtualHost> # Website2 NameVirtualHost 192.168.10.2:80 <VirtualHost 192.168.10.2:80> DocumentRoot /var/www/html/chart ServerName www.website2.org </VirtualHost> NameVirtualHost 192.168.10.2:443 <VirtualHost 192.168.10.2:443> SSLEngine On SSLCertificateFile conf/ssl/website2.cer SSLCertificateKeyFile conf/ssl/website2.key </VirtualHost> Update: In answer to Shane (this wouldn't fit in comment box) here is the output from apachectl -S: VirtualHost configuration: 192.168.10.2:80 is a NameVirtualHost default server www.website2.org (/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf:1033) port 80 namevhost www.website2.org (/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf:1033) 192.168.10.2:443 is a NameVirtualHost default server bogus_host_without_reverse_dns (/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf:1040) port 443 namevhost bogus_host_without_reverse_dns (/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf:1040) 192.168.10.1:80 is a NameVirtualHost default server www.website1.org (/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf:1017) port 80 namevhost www.website1.org (/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf:1017) 192.168.10.1:443 is a NameVirtualHost default server bogus_host_without_reverse_dns (/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf:1024) port 443 namevhost bogus_host_without_reverse_dns (/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf:1024) wildcard NameVirtualHosts and _default_ servers: _default_:443 192.168.10.1 (/etc/httpd/conf.d/ssl.conf:81) Syntax OK

  • IMAP can't access virtual account sharing name with local user account

    - by chernevik
I am setting up a postfix/dovecot mail server with virtual accounts, per the Chris Haas tutorial. I'm finding that virtual users who also have local user accounts on the mail server cannot access their email remotely via IMAP. They're told they cannot login. (I'm using Thunderbird for that). These same users can login when emulating IMAP locally via telnet. Virtual users without local accounts have no trouble with IMAP access from remote clients. These local user accounts have vestiges of prior efforts in their home directories: mbox files, Mail and mail directories. I've looked at the logs for clues to where the remote login process is failing (dovecot authentication failure? confusion over where emails are stored?) but found nothing helpful. I haven't found much in the dovecot or postfix documentation that describes the IMAP login process and expectations in enough detail to help me diagnose this. So: how do I go about identifying the problem and researching a solution?

  • windows 7 issues with local domain name

    - by Phill
Until recently my operating system was XP where for the purpose of development and testing of php and zen cart I set up xampp that included apache http server and mercury mail server I also made changes to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts as follows: 127.0.0.1 www.zen.com # For browser access 127.0.0.1 mail.mercury.com # For email access 127.0.0.1 mercury.com # For mercury mail server This allowed the use of www.zen.com in the address bar of my browser rather than 'localhost' and mail.mercury.com to access email via thunderbird. All was well. Then I installed windows7, I made all the mods and again everything appeared to run as expected. Then I turned off my wireless modem causing all working local connections to fail. Localhost in the address bar still works but not www.zen.com and thunderbird 'cannot find mail.mercury.com' Is there some way to overcome what ever is causing this.

  • Is there a way to use something similar to a capture group for apache2 server name

    - by Zipper
I have a server that sits behind an AWS load balancer. The LB can't do automatic redirect from HTTP to HTTPs, and the LB is doing my SSL. So I need to setup apache on my servers to redirect any request on port 80 to https://FOOBAR m where FOOBAR is the domain that came in. I haven't been able to find a way of doing that so far. I'm an apache newb though. What I'm trying to do is something similar to this. I'll use regex as an example <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName (.*) Redirect / https://\1 </VirtualHost> If there's a better way to do this, please let me know. EDIT: Sorry I should have explained why this is happening. I actually have a tomcat server running my app on port 8080, and the LB points to that. From what I can tell so far my requests come in on http (which is expected), but when my app server sends redirects (for login purposes) it tries to redirect to http, instead of https. I haven't had a chance to fully investigate this, but I wanted to work around it for now by point the LB to point to the apache server, and have any port 80 requests redirect to 443. EDIT2: The other reason I'm interested in doing this, is that since the LB can't do the redirect, I need to have another redirect mechanism in place to tell the browser to go to https://FOOBAR

  • Apache server configuration name resolution (virtual host naming + security)

    - by Homunculus Reticulli
I have just setup a minimal (hopefully secure? - comments welcome) apache website using the following configuration file: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName foobar.com ServerAlias www.foobar.com ServerAdmin [email protected] DocumentRoot /path/to/websites/foobar/web DirectoryIndex index.php # CustomLog with format nickname LogFormat "%h %l %u %t \"%r\" %>s %b" common CustomLog "|/usr/bin/cronolog /var/log/apache2/%Y%m.foobar.access.log" common LogLevel notice ErrorLog "|/usr/bin/cronolog /var/log/apache2/%Y%m.foobar.errors.log" <Directory /> AllowOverride None Order Deny,Allow Deny from all </Directory> <Directory /path/to/websites/> Options -Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews AllowOverride None Order allow, deny allow from all </Directory> </VirtualHost> I am able to access the website by using www.foobar.com, however when I type foobar.com, I get the error 'Server not found' - why is this? My second question concerns the security implications of the directive: <Directory /path/to/websites/> Options -Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews AllowOverride None Order allow, deny allow from all </Directory> in the configuration above. What exactly is it doing, and is it necessary?. From my (admitedly limited) understanding of Apache configuration files, this means that anyone will be able to access (write to?) the /path/to/websites/ folder. Is my understanding correct? - and if yes, how is this not a security risk?

  • file-name encoding problems

    - by tenhouse
I googled over this topic but couldn't find what I was looking for... the following "happend" to me: I had my files stored on a NTFS-USB Harddisk, because of space problems I moved them to an ext3 system....somehow the filename (content is still ok as far as I saw) encoding screwed up....my files look like the following now: Kküken <--- should have an "ü" Jäger <--- should be an "ä" Zwölf <--- should be an "ö" fünfte <-- should be an "ü" etc .... These are just examples, but already give me my first question Why has the "ü" two different representations? (Maybe I screw up, before I screw up and now I have a mixing of x different encoding-layers? :) ) I tried the following command: convmv -r -f UTF-8 -t ISO-8859-1 * This command work for some files (for example Zwölf) but not for all: iso-8859-1 doesn't cover all needed characters for: "fünfte" So Iguess it must be another encoding - but which? How can I find out this? And is there any way that I can still fix all of this?

  • Font name used in files shared between OSX and Windows

    - by Paul
Our designer uses OSX, and creates InDesign or AI files. They are then passed to us for changes. When we open the files on Windows, we are told that fonts are missing. In this example, the Futura font is being used. The Windows machine has Futura installed, from BitStream. The nane of the font is "Futura Std", whereas on OSX, it is simply Futura. So InDesign chooses a random font to substitute Futura with on Windows, it does not choose Futura Std. Now we can use the Find Font feature, and change all the instances of "Futura" to "Futura Std", but if we pass the file back to the designer, they have to then do the reverse. What is the right way for managing this?
