• Merging MySQL Structure and Data

  I have a MySQL database running on a deployment machine which also contains data. Then I have another MySQL database which has evolved in terms of STRUCTURE + DATA for some time. I need a way to merge the changes (ONLY) for both structure and data to the DB in deployment machine without disturbing the existing data. Does anyone know of a tool available which can do this safely. I have had a look at a few comparison tools but I need a tool which can automate the merge operation. Note also that most of the data in the tables is in BINARY so I can't use many file comparison tools. Does any one know of a solution to this? thanks

  Now with Xcode 4.5, is it OK to just add the following line to my ~/.bash_profile rather than installing the Xcode Command Line Tools? export PATH="$PATH:`xcode-select -print-path`/usr/bin:`xcode-select -print-path`/Toolchains/XcodeDefault.xctoolchain/usr/bin" Note: Xcode says the following about Command Line Tools: Before installing, note that from within Terminal you can use the XCRUN tool to launch compilers and other tools embedded within the Xcode application. Use the XCODE-SELECT tool to define which version of Xcode is active. Type "man xcrun" from within Terminal to find out more.

• Diff tool that can compare sub-sections of files

  I'm looking for a diff tool that will allow me to compare just a sub-section of a file with a section of another file, or even of itself. Preferably eclipse based but will take all suggestions. Yes I know I can copy out the two sections into different files and compare those, but that is very tedious when you are trying to do a large amount of refactoring. Basically I'm trying to remove as much duplicated code as possible from a code base that is suffering from a great deal of ctrl-V 'inheritance' ;-) However the pasted parts have evolved apart a little over time.

• WndProc(ref Message m), Prevent minimize Games, Send key strokes.

  Overview: I am going to create a touch application that interfaces with games and other apps. This concept is similar to the app found on touch-buddy.com but I will be using C# and WPF instead of how the application is written in Perl. I have a few challenges I would like to evaluate. The touch-buddy app uses two approaches while interacting with games; 1. Client mode (Same machine runs both game and touch-buddy). 2. Server / Client mode where a separate box sends commands to the game machine. The reason I believe for this method was to circumvent the issue with games minimizing. In Client only mode I am faced with the issue where I touch a screen OTHER than the main screen where the game is viewed and then the game minimizes. Not all games have this behavior but I would like to conquer the games that do minimize and prevent it. Is it possible to keep a game front and center Focused and prevent minimizing utilizing C# WndProc(ref Message m)? I have been experimenting with WndProc(ref Message m) where I created a win form and when I press minimize on my own Win form and it will close an instance of notepad. This proves to me that I can capture a message, prevent that message from bubbling up and then send a message to another application. I then tried to click on notepad with my touch screen and keep my win form application in focus and not minimize. At this point I am unsuccessful. I need more time understanding message codes. Is this the right approach? Can it be done? Should I look at other libraries such as Windows Automation? Key input is my other concern. What is the best way to send key strokes to other apps/games. Should I tap into DirectX, use some kind of send key, Automation Framework? Can any of these handle the multiple key strokes that some simulation games require? I appreciate any links and or insight you may have. If you have gone down this path for any reason I would love to hear your comments. Stan

• Tool to diagonalize large matrices

  I want to compute a diffusion kernel, which involves taking exp(b*A) where A is a large matrix. In order to play with values of b, I'd like to diagonalize A (so that exp(A) runs quickly). My matrix is about 25k x 25k, but is very sparse - only about 60k values are non-zero. Matlab's "eigs" function runs of out memory, as does octave's "eig" and R's "eigen." Is there a tool to find the decomposition of large, sparse matrices? Dunno if this is relevant, but A is an adjacency matrix, so it's symmetric, and it is full rank.

• Windows command line compression/extraction tool?

  I need to write a batch file to unzip files to their current folder from a given root folder. Folder 0 |----- Folder 1 | |----- File1.zip | |----- File2.zip | |----- File3.zip | |----- Folder 2 | |----- File4.zip | |----- Folder 3 |----- File5.zip |----- FileN.zip So, I wish that my batch file is launched like so: ocd.bat /d="Folder 0" Then, make it iterate from within the batch file through all of the subfolders to unzip the files exactly where the .zip files are located. So here's my question: Does the Windows (from XP at least) have a command line for its embedded zip tool? Otherwise, shall I stick to another third-party util?

• removed url from google webmaster tool, now goole don't show my website in search

  I developed the site, and I removed the url from google webmaster tool which was like "http://example.com\". I did this because google show this in search with underconstruction Title, which was my previous page. When i completed the website, i removed the url from there, and added sitemap etc to have new copy of site. Now i see in webmaster tools, that all pages are indexed, but still no success. Yahoo and Bing are showing my page when searched. Help me to fix this problem. Regards, vicky

• Looking for a free tool to visualize object relationships for C#

  Here is my ideal solution: a free tool that reads a .csporj or .sln and generates a pretty picture that shows all the objects and how they are related. By relationships, I don't mean inheritance but rather dependency. For example, if we have a Car object and Car has a member variable Wheel, I would like that Car depends on Wheel to be visualized in the graph. I know visual studio can do inheritance graphs, but that is only half of what I am looking for. Is what I am looking for possible? Are there any tools that do something similar?   Is there a quick way (e.g. tool) to detect, from the source (or maybe even from compiled classes), which parts of an application call Java API methods that are only implemented in a specific Java version? (e.g. which parts of my app are Java6-specific) I don't necessarily want to hop through all ClassMismatchErrors and avoid the trial-and-error-method. Let's say I only want to document which parts of an application won't work if they were writte for, e.g., Java6 and I want to run it in a version 5 JDK. Is there something like this? Google did not help this time, nor did I find any solution here (a rare case indeed:)

  Is it possible to configure Hibernate reverse engineering and code generation tool in such a way that one-to-many relation between tables is mapped to entities inheritance instead of enrites relation? I have Person table and Employee table, which are related with the foreign key (Person contains basic information, Employee the rest). In my Java code I would like this relation mapped to inheritance Employee extends Person. This can be done by hand, but maybe I missed some custom configuration parameter that I can use. I couldn't find any official documentation - docs link on RedHat Hibernate page (http://www.hibernate.org/5.html#A10) is broken...

  A company I used to work for was plagued with build breakages. So they made a tool that would zip up a developers local changes (which it detected from SCM) and send them to a remote server for a test build. The remote server would update its copy of the source with the repository and then apply the changes it received from the developer. It would then build and test the changes. We actually targeted multiple platforms so it would do the above for each of those platforms. When it was done, if everything was green, the developer was reasonable confident they could submit the change without breaking the "real" build. Are there any tools out there that do something similar?

  I am running a pretty high traffic cluster of JBoss servers serving REST requests and I am interested in tools reading the access logs in Tomcat format (with %D parameter) to provide a detailed analysis of the response time on a per-call basis. Ideally this tool would generate a chart showing the progression of the response time throughout the day, hour per hour, then a weekly view with averages on the day, and monthly with average on the weeks (CACTI style). I've looked for such tools and couldn't find anything. Is any of you guys aware of something close to that before I start writing my own? I haven't looked into CACTI extensions yet, but that be an option?

  We're a .NET team which uses the Oracle DB for a lot of reasons that I won't get into. But deployment has been a bitch. We are manually keeping track of all the changes to the schema in each version, by keeping a record of all the scripts that we run during development. Now, if a developer forgets to check-in his script to the source control after he ran it - which is not that rare - at the end of the iteration we get a great big headache. I hear that SQL Compare by Red-Gate might solve these kind of issues, but it only has SQL Server support. Anybody knows of a similar tool for Oracle? I've been unable to find one.

  I want to get a notification if someone has performed an action in an android app from outside of the app. I don't want to make any (android) code changes. To do the actions I use the Chimpchat.jar, the .jar that the monkeyrunner tool uses. To be clear: Can I get a notification or register listeners on components from outside of the app? e.g. Run my android app My java application links into the device with chimpChat via the adb The user touches a button My java application gets a notification what was performed = am I able to get that information? • NoClassDefFoundError when running java tool under Xcode

  Hi all, I'm trying to create a Java Tool by using Xcode. I've already changed my build.xml to have Xcode target java 1.6 and not 1.3 so I can use generics. I'm getting no build errors and using 'javac' and 'java' in the terminal works. Now I want it to work in Xcode as well. I keep getting the following error: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: MyClass where 'MyClass' is the class containing the main method. It probably has something to do with the classpath, which as the build.xml prescribes is "${bin}". There is a bin folder in my project folder, and it contains all the .class files needed to run the program. If anybody could help me, it'd be great!

In Watin automation project, we are wanting to bypass the file selection window and place filename directly in text entry area - but we are not finding a way to do this. How can this be accomplished? ...or perhaps it cannot be done?

I don't mean download time of the resources, but the actual time the browser took to render something. I know that this time would vary based on factors on the client machine, but would still be very handy in knowing what the rendering engine takes a while to load.   I'm thinking of making a little web tool for analyzing the search engine optimization and web accessiblity of a whole website. First of all, this is just a private tool for now. Crawling a whole website takes up alot of resources and time. I've found out that wget is the best option for downloading the markup for a whole site. I plan on using PHP/MySQL (maybe even CodeIgniter), but I'm not quite sure if that's the right way to do it. There's always someone who recommends Python, Ruby or Perl. I only know PHP and a little bit Rails. I've also found a great HTML DOM parser class in PHP on SourceForge. But, the thing is, I need some feedback on what I should and should not do. Everything from how I should make the crawl process to what I should be checking for in regards to SEO and WCAG. So, what comes to your mind when you hear this?

  Hello, is there a way (on Windows XP+) to redirect the output of a window created by a process created with e.g. CreateProcess to a window of your own program? I'd like to make a nicer GUI for ffplay.exe which is an open source video player. It is a command line tool, which opens a simple window in which it plays back the video. Can I "capture" this window and display the output in my own program somehow? Thanks for any hints you can provide.

  Hi, I am working on a C++ application that uses computer vision techniques to identify various types of objects in a sequence of images. The (1000+) images have been hand-classified, so we have an XML file for each image containing a description of where the objects are actually located in the images. I would like to know if there is a testing framework that can understand/graph results from tests that are numeric, in this case some measure of the error in the program's classification of the images, rather than just pass/fail style unit tests. We would like to use something like CDash/CTest for running these automated tests, and viewing over time how improvements to the vision algorithms are causing the images to be more correctly classified. Does anyone know of a tool/framework that can do this?

  Hello! I'm writing a OSX PDF Workflow in ObjC and C. A single executable ("UNIX Tool" as named in the Apple reference), that reads in the spooled PDF file, does some parsing. I'd like to give more functionality by enabling a key-down event handling, meaning - when user opens print dialog in an application - and chooses to left-mouse-click on the custom made pdf workflow to run it - depending on if a keyboard key is down (i.e. option key, but "any key down" would be enough for me) when running that workflow - a decision is made in the code. I have read NSEvent and Carbon Event Manager reference and it seems that in this case (a plain unix executable + not run as root) it's not possible. Or is it? Many thanks in advance, Kroko

I guess It is not effi?iently for such tasks. I need something that can auto-generate a code for load and save my program settings using predefined xml-schema. • Simple performance testing tool in C#?

  Hi, At first -I need to do it as my university project so I am not interested in using existing tools. I would like to know whether it is even possible to write a very simple tool that I could use for performance testing of web applications. It would only record actions (I do not know, maybe just packet sniffering?) and then replay. However I have basic idea (record packets on port 80 and sending them again), I do not know how to measure time for each transaction as they are not differentiated. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you!
