  Windows Phone 7 Design Template Expression Blend is a wonderful design environment for WP7 (Windows Phone 7) but for quickly visualizing a concept nothing beats Illustrator! I am excited about WP7 and decided that having a solid .ai template would prove invaluable. Some of the details of the WP7 UI Design and Interaction Guide are a bit fuzzy (literally) but I was able to generate some useful layout guides, character styles, and symbols. While the template does not cover every aspect of the guide I think it is a good launching point; if you find it useful and extend it please share your updates (I created the template in CS4, if you have problems in earlier versions let me know).Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors? I've seen companies advertise web services, one popular i've seen is PSD2HTML. But I was if it is also applicable to individuals trying to market it self. • AdventueWorks Design Patterns Project - Part 1

  This is the presentation I did tonight at PHILLYNJ.NET.  It is the first in a multi-part of a series on the Applied Design Patterns.   The solution files are working code with design pattern notes in the comment blocks. After the overview and higher level discussions on Enterprise Design Patterns I reviewed the low level Database Access Library of code.  With walk-throughs of the the code and unint test. After that we went through the ProductPhotoConsoleTest Application that performed intergration testing of the DBAccess Class with the AdventureWorks ProductPhoto table extracting the photos and writing them to a file folder.   We just completed developing a web app for a client. And like i usually do, i added developed by "My Company" at the footer at a very small insignificat size. I sent the client an Eend user license stating some of the following in summary you can't resell, redistribute, etc without our notice ... you can remove the attribution or design credits the client got back to me and complained, telling me now that he was also developing for someone, and that 'I can't add my attribution' without his/her consent, but? Although i sign a NDA with in summary states that i cannot disclose the software to anyone else There was no agreement before the project that am not to add design credits or attribution i know every software i install have that, and so is every products from companies, mostly technological products. how does this work (adding design credits) What do you think?

• Any home design software similar to The Sims 3?

  I tried Sketchup to sketch a home design but I find the controls a bit frustrating. I can sketch 10 times faster in The Sims 3, plus it is nicer to look at. Though the metric system may not be 1:1 ratio to reality but it's close, maybe 15%-20% off but this is a just a sketch, right? Anyway, is there any software that does home design like The Sims 3? The same ease of use but at a more professional level and a real metric system?

• Best way to handle global state

  Hi there, I was wondering if anyone could offer some advice on 'best practices' for using global state in a web application - specifically PHP, although im looking for generic best practices i.e. design patterns etc. At the moment I just use a static class, calling it Configs. I suppose this is similar to using the registry pattern but surely there is a more elegant way of handling global data within an application - i just cant think of a better way though.

My approach is as follows: create an inner class with 2 fields that will be used to keep those 2 values put the method inside that class instantiate the class and call the method. The only thing that will be changed in the method is that in the end it will assign those 2 values to the fields of the instance.
