    I have a class "Artikel" and there i write some Business Logic. I also have a class "tArtikel" which is a type. In my class "Artikel" I work with "tArtikel" and returns are of that type. Now when i instantiate an "Artikel" i want it to be of type "tArtikel", so what i tried in my code is: public tArtikel Artikel() { tArtikel artikel = new tArtikel(); } Which results in: "'Artikel' member names cannot be the same as their enclosing type". How would i set this up correctly?

    I have a custom content type in Drupal which was created using CCK. The create/edit permissions for this type are not showing up in the node module permissions, although other cck types are. This content type is also bound to a module, but this module doesn't have any admin screens, all node creation is done through the standard cck interface. any ideas? I have tried rebuilding the permissions cache

  • Compilers behave differently with a null parameter of a generic method

    The following code compiles perfectly with Eclipse, but fails to compile with javac: public class HowBizarre { public static <P extends Number, T extends P> void doIt(P value) { } public static void main(String[] args) { doIt(null); } } I simplified the code, so T is not used at all now. Still, I don't see a reason for the error. For some reason javac decides that T stands for Object, and then complains that Object does not conform to the bounds of T (which is true): HowBizarre.java:6: incompatible types; inferred type argument(s) java.lang.Number,java.lang.Object do not conform to bounds of type variable (s) P,T found : <P,T>void required: void doIt(null); ^ Note that if I replace the null parameter with a non-null value, it compiles fine. Which of the compilers behaves correctly and why? Is this a bug of one of them?

    Hi, In F# I have a function that returns System.Linq.Expression instances: and System.Object with member this.ToExpression() = match this with | :? System.Int32 -> Expression.Constant(this) :> Expression | :? System.Boolean -> Expression.Constant(this) :> Expression | :? Tml.Runtime.Seq as s -> s.ToExpression() | _ -> failwith "bad expression" If I omit the type coercions on the return values F# will infer the return type of the function to ConstantExpression. My first thought was to explicitly mark the return type as being : #Expression, but that didn't work. Is there a more elegant way of doing this that doesn't involve manually casting return types to the most generic type? Thanks.

  • Using a function with reference as a function with pointers?

    Today I stumbled over a piece of code that looked horrifying to me. The pieces was chattered in different files, I have tried write the gist of it in a simple test case below. The code base is routinely scanned with FlexeLint on a daily basis, but this construct has been laying in the code since 2004. The thing is that a function implemented with a parameter passing using references is called as a function with a parameter passing using pointers...due to a function cast. The construct has worked since 2004 on Irix and now when porting it actually do work on Linux/gcc too. My question now. Is this a construct one can trust? I can understand if compiler constructors implement the reference passing as it was a pointer, but is it reliable? Are there hidden risks? Should I change the fref(..) to use pointers and risk braking anything in the process? I've found that Portlet interface has setCssClassWrapper method that could probably do what I want, but I can't seem to find any easy way to access current portlet object from my code.     Wonder if there is a parameter I can pass in mmysqldump equivalent for SQL Servery mysqldump that will make the incorrect "DROP TABLE IF EXISTS" statements into "DROP VIEW IF EXISTS", so that populating a database in an automated development environment refresh will work? Clarification, I'm getting DROP TABLE IF EXISTS statements in my .sql dump file even though they aren't tables. FYI: This is a Drupal site. The tables in question are ubercart meta statistics tables.

    I'm working with a function whose signature looks like this afunc(string $p1, mixed $p2, array $p3 [, int $p4 = SOM_CONST [, string $p5 ]] ) In some cases I don't have data for the last parameter $p5 to pass, but for the sake of consistency I still want to pass something like NULL. So my question, does PHP treat passing a NULL exactly the same as not passing anything? somefunc($p1, $p2, $p3, $p4 = SOM_CONST); somefunc($p1, $p2, $p3, $p4 = SOM_CONST, NULL);
