  • Merge functionality of two xsl files into a single file (not a xsl import or include issue)

    - by anuamb
    I have two xsl files; both of them perform different tasks on source xml one after another. Now I need a single xsl file which will actually perform both these tasks in single file (its not an issue of xsl import or xsl include): say my source xml is: <LIST_R7P1_1 <R7P1_1 <LVL2 <ORIG_EXP_PRE_CONV#+# <EXP_AFT_CONVabc <GUARANTEE_AMOUNT#+# <CREDIT_DER/ </LVL2 <LVL21 <AZ#+# <BZbz1 <AZaz2 <BZ#+# <CZ/ </LVL21 </R7P1_1 </LIST_R7P1_1 My first xsl (tr1.xsl) removes all nodes whose value is blank or null: <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"> <xsl:template match="@*|node()"> <xsl:if test=". != '' or ./@* != ''"> <xsl:copy> <xsl:apply-templates select="@*|node()"/> </xsl:copy> </xsl:if> <xsl:template </xsl:stylesheet The output here is <LIST_R7P1_1 <R7P1_1 <LVL2 <ORIG_EXP_PRE_CONV#+# <EXP_AFT_CONVabc <GUARANTEE_AMOUNT#+# </LVL2 <LVL21 <AZ#+# <BZbz1 <AZaz2 <BZ#+# </LVL21 </R7P1_1 </LIST_R7P1_1 And my second xsl (tr2.xsl) does a global replace (of #+# with text blank'') on the output of first xsl: <xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" version="1.0" <xsl:template name="globalReplace" <xsl:param name="outputString"/ <xsl:param name="target"/ <xsl:param name="replacement"/ <xsl:choose <xsl:when test="contains($outputString,$target)"> <xsl:value-of select= "concat(substring-before($outputString,$target), $replacement)"/> <xsl:call-template name="globalReplace"> <xsl:with-param name="outputString" select="substring-after($outputString,$target)"/> <xsl:with-param name="target" select="$target"/> <xsl:with-param name="replacement" select="$replacement"/> </xsl:call-template> </xsl:when> <xsl:otherwise> <xsl:value-of select="$outputString"/> </xsl:otherwise> </xsl:choose </xsl:template <xsl:template match="text()" <xsl:template match="@*|*"> <xsl:copy> <xsl:apply-templates select="@*|node()"/> </xsl:copy> </xsl:template> </xsl:stylesheet So my final output is <LIST_R7P1_1 <R7P1_1 <LVL2 <ORIG_EXP_PRE_CONV <EXP_AFT_CONVabc <GUARANTEE_AMOUNT </LVL2 <LVL21 <AZ <BZbz1 <AZaz2 <BZ </LVL21 </R7P1_1 </LIST_R7P1_1 My concern is that instead of these two xsl (tr1.xsl and tr2.xsl) I only need a single xsl (tr.xsl) which gives me final output? Say when I combine these two as <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" <xsl:template match="@*|node()" <xsl:if test=". != '' or ./@* != ''"> <xsl:copy> <xsl:apply-templates select="@*|node()"/> </xsl:copy> </xsl:if> <xsl:template name="globalReplace" <xsl:param name="outputString"/ <xsl:param name="target"/ <xsl:param name="replacement"/ <xsl:choose <xsl:when test="contains($outputString,$target)"> <xsl:value-of select= "concat(substring-before($outputString,$target), $replacement)"/> <xsl:call-template name="globalReplace"> <xsl:with-param name="outputString" select="substring-after($outputString,$target)"/> <xsl:with-param name="target" select="$target"/> <xsl:with-param name="replacement" select="$replacement"/> </xsl:call-template> </xsl:when> <xsl:otherwise> <xsl:value-of select="$outputString"/> </xsl:otherwise> </xsl:choose </xsl:template <xsl:template match="text()" <xsl:call-template name="globalReplace" <xsl:with-param name="outputString" select="."/ <xsl:with-param name="target" select="'#+#'"/ <xsl:with-param name="replacement" select="''"/ </xsl:call-template </xsl:template <xsl:template match="@|" <xsl:copy <xsl:apply-templates select="@*|node()"/ </xsl:copy </xsl:template </xsl:stylesheet it outputs: <LIST_R7P1_1 <R7P1_1 <LVL2 <ORIG_EXP_PRE_CONV <EXP_AFT_CONVabc <GUARANTEE_AMOUNT <CREDIT_DER/ </LVL2 <LVL21 <AZ <BZbz1 <AZaz2 <BZ <CZ/ </LVL21 </R7P1_1 </LIST_R7P1_1 Only replacement is performed but not null/blank node removal.

  • Couldn't get connection factory client - fighting with Google Maps

    - by iie
    another day another problem, I finally managed to set up correctly google maps on my android application, or at least I thought I've done it, the whole progam starts, it even call the class which should "print" a map, but the only thing I can see is a grid with google label on it [ in the corner ]. I've checked the dalvik monitor and the error E/MapActivity(394): Couldn't get connection factory client occurs. I've find out on stackoverflow website that I should sent a gps signal or sth like this from dalvik monitor, and I've done it. Nothing happend, also I got the api key one more time, but nothing changed. here is map.xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <!-- This file is /res/layout/mapview.xml --> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent"> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:orientation="horizontal" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content"> <Button android:id="@+id/zoomin" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="+" android:onClick="myClickHandler" android:padding="12px" /> <Button android:id="@+id/zoomout" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="-" android:onClick="myClickHandler" android:padding="12px" /> <Button android:id="@+id/sat" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Satellite" android:onClick="myClickHandler" android:padding="8px" /> <Button android:id="@+id/street" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Street" android:onClick="myClickHandler" android:padding="8px" /> <Button android:id="@+id/traffic" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Traffic" android:onClick="myClickHandler" android:padding="8px" /> <Button android:id="@+id/normal" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Normal" android:onClick="myClickHandler" android:padding="8px" /> </LinearLayout> <com.google.android.maps.MapView android:id="@+id/mapview" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:clickable="true" android:apiKey="0zPcz1VYRSpLusufJ2JoL0ffl2uxDMovgpW319w" /> </LinearLayout> here is a MapMapa.java public class MapMapa extends MapActivity { private MapView mapView; @Override protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.map); mapView = (MapView)findViewById(R.id.mapview); } public void myClickHandler(View target) { switch(target.getId()) { case R.id.zoomin: mapView.getController().zoomIn(); break; case R.id.zoomout: mapView.getController().zoomOut(); break; case R.id.sat: mapView.setSatellite(true); break; case R.id.street: mapView.setStreetView(true); break; case R.id.traffic: mapView.setTraffic(true); break; case R.id.normal: mapView.setSatellite(false); mapView.setStreetView(false); mapView.setTraffic(false); break; } } @Override protected boolean isLocationDisplayed() { return false; } @Override protected boolean isRouteDisplayed() { return false; } manifest.xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <manifest xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" package="menu.dot" android:versionCode="1" ndroid:versionName="1.0"> <application android:label="@string/app_name" android:icon="@drawable/icon"> <uses-library android:name="com.google.android.maps" /> <activity android:name="MainActivity" android:label="@string/app_name"> <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" /> <category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" /> </intent-filter> </activity> <activity android:name=".About"> android:label="@string/about_title" android:theme="@android:style/Theme.Dialog" > </activity> <activity android:name=".Exit"> andorid:label="@string/exit_title"> </activity> <activity android:name=".Options"> </activity> <activity android:name=".Start"> </activity> <activity android:name=".Create"> </activity> <activity android:name=".Where"> </activity> <activity android:name=".Proceed"> </activity> <activity android:name=".Finish"> </activity> <activity android:name=".Login"> </activity> <activity android:name=".OK"> </activity> <activity android:name=".UserPanel"> </activity> <activity android:name=".Managero"> </activity> <activity android:name=".Edition"> </activity> <activity android:name=".Done"> </activity> <activity android:name=".Delete"> </activity> <activity android:name=".MapMapa"> </activity> </application> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION"/> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION"/> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.INTERNET"/> <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="3" /> </manifest>

  • JSF : able to do mass update but unable to update a single row in a datatable

    - by nash
    I have a simple data object: Car. I am showing the properties of Car objects in a JSF datatable. If i display the properties using inputText tags, i am able to get the modified values in the managed bean. However i just want a single row editable. So have placed a edit button in a separate column and inputText and outputText for every property of Car. the edit button just toggles the rendering of inputText and outputText. Plus i placed a update button in a separate column which is used to save the updated values. However on clicking the update button, i still get the old values instead of the modified values. Here is the complete code: public class Car { int id; String brand; String color; public Car(int id, String brand, String color) { this.id = id; this.brand = brand; this.color = color; } //getters and setters of id, brand, color } Here is the managed bean: import java.util.ArrayList; import java.util.List; import javax.faces.bean.ManagedBean; import javax.faces.bean.RequestScoped; import javax.faces.component.UIData; @ManagedBean(name = "CarTree") @RequestScoped public class CarTree { int editableRowId; List<Car> carList; private UIData myTable; public CarTree() { carList = new ArrayList<Car>(); carList.add(new Car(1, "jaguar", "grey")); carList.add(new Car(2, "ferari", "red")); carList.add(new Car(3, "camri", "steel")); } public String update() { System.out.println("updating..."); //below statments print old values, was expecting modified values System.out.println("new car brand is:" + ((Car) myTable.getRowData()).brand); System.out.println("new car color is:" + ((Car) myTable.getRowData()).color); //how to get modified row values in this method?? return null; } public int getEditableRowId() { return editableRowId; } public void setEditableRowId(int editableRowId) { this.editableRowId = editableRowId; } public UIData getMyTable() { return myTable; } public void setMyTable(UIData myTable) { this.myTable = myTable; } public List<Car> getCars() { return carList; } public void setCars(List<Car> carList) { this.carList = carList; } } here is the JSF 2 page: <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8' ?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xmlns:h="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html" xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core"> <h:head> <title>Facelet Title</title> </h:head> <h:body> <h:form id="carForm" prependId="false"> <h:dataTable id="dt" binding="#{CarTree.myTable}" value="#{CarTree.cars}" var="car" > <h:column> <h:outputText value="#{car.id}" /> </h:column> <h:column> <h:outputText value="#{car.brand}" rendered="#{CarTree.editableRowId != car.id}"/> <h:inputText value="#{car.brand}" rendered="#{CarTree.editableRowId == car.id}"/> </h:column> <h:column> <h:outputText value="#{car.color}" rendered="#{CarTree.editableRowId != car.id}"/> <h:inputText value="#{car.color}" rendered="#{CarTree.editableRowId == car.id}"/> </h:column> <h:column> <h:commandButton value="edit"> <f:setPropertyActionListener target="#{CarTree.editableRowId}" value="#{car.id}" /> </h:commandButton> </h:column> <h:column> <h:commandButton value="update" action="#{CarTree.update}"/> </h:column> </h:dataTable> </h:form> </h:body> </html> However if i just keep the inputText tags and remove the rendered attributes, i get the modified values in the update method. How can i get the modified values for the single row edit?

  • Problem deserializing xml file

    - by Andy
    I auto generated an xsd file from the below xml and used xsd2code to get a c# class. The problem is the entire xml doesn't deserialize. Here is how I'm attempting to deserialize: static void Main(string[] args) { using (TextReader textReader = new StreamReader("config.xml")) { // string temp = textReader.ReadToEnd(); XmlSerializer deserializer = new XmlSerializer(typeof(project)); project p = (project)deserializer.Deserialize(textReader); } } here is the actual XML: <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?> <project> <scm class="hudson.scm.SubversionSCM"> <locations> <hudson.scm.SubversionSCM_-ModuleLocation> <remote>https://svn.xxx.com/test/Validation/CPS DRTest DLL/trunk</remote> </hudson.scm.SubversionSCM_-ModuleLocation> </locations> <useUpdate>false</useUpdate> <browser class="hudson.scm.browsers.FishEyeSVN"> <url>http://fisheye.xxxx.net/browse/Test/</url> <rootModule>Test</rootModule> </browser> <excludedCommitMessages></excludedCommitMessages> </scm> <openf>Hello there</openf> <buildWrappers/> </project> When I run the above, the locations node remains null. Here is the xsd that I'm using: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <xs:schema id="NewDataSet" xmlns="" xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:msdata="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:xml-msdata"> <xs:element name="project"> <xs:complexType> <xs:all> <xs:element name="openf" type="xs:string" minOccurs="0" /> <xs:element name="buildWrappers" type="xs:string" minOccurs="0" /> <xs:element name="scm" minOccurs="0"> <xs:complexType> <xs:sequence> <xs:element name="useUpdate" type="xs:string" minOccurs="0" msdata:Ordinal="1" /> <xs:element name="excludedCommitMessages" type="xs:string" minOccurs="0" msdata:Ordinal="2" /> <xs:element name="locations" minOccurs="0"> <xs:complexType> <xs:sequence> <xs:element name="hudson.scm.SubversionSCM_-ModuleLocation" minOccurs="0"> <xs:complexType> <xs:sequence> <xs:element name="remote" type="xs:string" minOccurs="0" /> </xs:sequence> </xs:complexType> </xs:element> </xs:sequence> </xs:complexType> </xs:element> <xs:element name="browser" minOccurs="0"> <xs:complexType> <xs:sequence> <xs:element name="url" type="xs:string" minOccurs="0" msdata:Ordinal="0" /> <xs:element name="rootModule" type="xs:string" minOccurs="0" msdata:Ordinal="1" /> </xs:sequence> <xs:attribute name="class" type="xs:string" /> </xs:complexType> </xs:element> </xs:sequence> <xs:attribute name="class" type="xs:string" /> </xs:complexType> </xs:element> </xs:all> </xs:complexType> </xs:element> <xs:element name="NewDataSet" msdata:IsDataSet="true" msdata:UseCurrentLocale="true"> <xs:complexType> <xs:choice minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded"> <xs:element ref="project" /> </xs:choice> </xs:complexType> </xs:element> </xs:schema>

  • MVVM - implementing 'IsDirty' functionality to a ModelView in order to save data

    - by Brendan
    Hi, Being new to WPF & MVVM I struggling with some basic functionality. Let me first explain what I am after, and then attach some example code... I have a screen showing a list of users, and I display the details of the selected user on the right-hand side with editable textboxes. I then have a Save button which is DataBound, but I would only like this button to display when data has actually changed. ie - I need to check for "dirty data". I have a fully MVVM example in which I have a Model called User: namespace Test.Model { class User { public string UserName { get; set; } public string Surname { get; set; } public string Firstname { get; set; } } } Then, the ViewModel looks like this: using System.Collections.ObjectModel; using System.Collections.Specialized; using System.Windows.Input; using Test.Model; namespace Test.ViewModel { class UserViewModel : ViewModelBase { //Private variables private ObservableCollection<User> _users; RelayCommand _userSave; //Properties public ObservableCollection<User> User { get { if (_users == null) { _users = new ObservableCollection<User>(); //I assume I need this Handler, but I am stuggling to implement it successfully //_users.CollectionChanged += HandleChange; //Populate with users _users.Add(new User {UserName = "Bob", Firstname="Bob", Surname="Smith"}); _users.Add(new User {UserName = "Smob", Firstname="John", Surname="Davy"}); } return _users; } } //Not sure what to do with this?!?! //private void HandleChange(object sender, NotifyCollectionChangedEventArgs e) //{ // if (e.Action == NotifyCollectionChangedAction.Remove) // { // foreach (TestViewModel item in e.NewItems) // { // //Removed items // } // } // else if (e.Action == NotifyCollectionChangedAction.Add) // { // foreach (TestViewModel item in e.NewItems) // { // //Added items // } // } //} //Commands public ICommand UserSave { get { if (_userSave == null) { _userSave = new RelayCommand(param => this.UserSaveExecute(), param => this.UserSaveCanExecute); } return _userSave; } } void UserSaveExecute() { //Here I will call my DataAccess to actually save the data } bool UserSaveCanExecute { get { //This is where I would like to know whether the currently selected item has been edited and is thus "dirty" return false; } } //constructor public UserViewModel() { } } } The "RelayCommand" is just a simple wrapper class, as is the "ViewModelBase". (I'll attach the latter though just for clarity) using System; using System.ComponentModel; namespace Test.ViewModel { public abstract class ViewModelBase : INotifyPropertyChanged, IDisposable { protected ViewModelBase() { } public event PropertyChangedEventHandler PropertyChanged; protected virtual void OnPropertyChanged(string propertyName) { PropertyChangedEventHandler handler = this.PropertyChanged; if (handler != null) { var e = new PropertyChangedEventArgs(propertyName); handler(this, e); } } public void Dispose() { this.OnDispose(); } protected virtual void OnDispose() { } } } Finally - the XAML <Window x:Class="Test.MainWindow" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:vm="clr-namespace:Test.ViewModel" Title="MainWindow" Height="350" Width="525"> <Window.DataContext> <vm:UserViewModel/> </Window.DataContext> <Grid> <ListBox Height="238" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Margin="12,12,0,0" Name="listBox1" VerticalAlignment="Top" Width="197" ItemsSource="{Binding Path=User}" IsSynchronizedWithCurrentItem="True"> <ListBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <StackPanel> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Path=Firstname}"/> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Path=Surname}"/> </StackPanel> </DataTemplate> </ListBox.ItemTemplate> </ListBox> <Label Content="Username" Height="28" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Margin="232,16,0,0" Name="label1" VerticalAlignment="Top" /> <TextBox Height="23" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Margin="323,21,0,0" Name="textBox1" VerticalAlignment="Top" Width="120" Text="{Binding Path=User/UserName}" /> <Label Content="Surname" Height="28" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Margin="232,50,0,0" Name="label2" VerticalAlignment="Top" /> <TextBox Height="23" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Margin="323,52,0,0" Name="textBox2" VerticalAlignment="Top" Width="120" Text="{Binding Path=User/Surname}" /> <Label Content="Firstname" Height="28" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Margin="232,84,0,0" Name="label3" VerticalAlignment="Top" /> <TextBox Height="23" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Margin="323,86,0,0" Name="textBox3" VerticalAlignment="Top" Width="120" Text="{Binding Path=User/Firstname}" /> <Button Content="Button" Height="23" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Margin="368,159,0,0" Name="button1" VerticalAlignment="Top" Width="75" Command="{Binding Path=UserSave}" /> </Grid> </Window> So basically, when I edit a surname, the Save button should be enabled; and if I undo my edit - well then it should be Disabled again as nothing has changed. I have seen this in many examples, but have not yet found out how to do it. Any help would be much appreciated! Brendan

  • AIR:- Desktop Application related to Window Component (Need some work around)

    - by Mahesh Parate
    Create custom component which contains Combobox and Datagrid. Application conations two button 1) Same Window and 2) New Window. (Label of two button) When you click on “Same Window” button your custom component should get added dynamically in your application. And when you click on “New Window” button your custom component should get open in different window (it should get shifted from application and should appear in Window component). Issue faced:- Clicking on Combobox, list is not getting open as change event doesn’t get fired in Native Window as it looses reference from main application. Issue with DataGrid in Native window (AIR). • DataGridEvent.COLUMN_STRETCH event get affected if try to open datagrid in Native Window. • DataGridEvent get fired but takes long time or even stuck while column stretch Note: Application is an Desktop Application. Only one instance is created in Application for your custom component to preserve current state on your custom component it can be Style, data, or other subcomponent state of your custom component (as above mentioned 2 component are just sample). Please find sample code below:- DataGridStretchIssue.mxml:- < ?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"? < mx:WindowedApplication xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="absolute" xmlns:local="*" width="800" height="500" < mx:Script < ![CDATA[ import mx.events.FlexEvent; import mx.core.Window; private var dgComp:DataGridComp = new DataGridComp(); private var win:Window; private function clickHandler(event:Event):void{ dgComp.percentWidth = 100; dgComp.percentHeight = 100; dgComp.x = 50; dgComp.y = 100; if(win){ win.close(); } this.addChild(dgComp); } private function openClickHandler(event:MouseEvent):void{ dgComp.x = 50; dgComp.y = 100; win = new Window();; win.width = 800; win.height = 500; win.addChild(dgComp); dgComp.percentWidth = 100; dgComp.percentHeight = 100; dgComp.x = 50; dgComp.y = 100; win.open(true) } ]]> < /mx:Script < mx:HBox <mx:Button id="btnID" click="clickHandler(event)" label="Same Window"/> <mx:Button id="btnIDOpen" click="openClickHandler(event)" label="New Window"/> < /mx:HBox < /mx:WindowedApplication DataGridComp.mxml < ?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"? < mx:Canvas xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" width="100%" height="100%" <mx:Script> <![CDATA[ import mx.events.DataGridEvent; import mx.collections.ArrayCollection; [Bindable] public var cards:ArrayCollection = new ArrayCollection( [ {label:"Visa", data:1}, {label:"MasterCard", data:2}, {label:"American Express", data:3} ]); private function stretchFn(event:DataGridEvent):void{ trace("--- Stretched---") } ]]> </mx:Script> <mx:HBox> <mx:ComboBox dataProvider="{cards}" width="150"/> <mx:DataGrid columnStretch="stretchFn(event)" > <mx:ArrayCollection> <mx:Object> <mx:Artist>Pavement</mx:Artist> <mx:Price>11.99</mx:Price> <mx:Album>Slanted and Enchanted</mx:Album> </mx:Object> <mx:Object> <mx:Artist>Pavement</mx:Artist> <mx:Album>Brighten the Corners</mx:Album> <mx:Price>11.99</mx:Price> </mx:Object> </mx:ArrayCollection> </mx:DataGrid> </mx:HBox> < /mx:Canvas Can any one suggest me some work around to make my code workable... :)

  • NHibernate AssertException: Interceptor.OnPrepareStatement(SqlString) returned null or empty SqlString.

    - by jwynveen
    I am trying to switch a table from being a many-to-one mapping to being many-to-many with an intermediate mapping table. However, when I switched it over and tried to do a query on it with NHibernate, it's giving me this error: "Interceptor.OnPrepareStatement(SqlString) returned null or empty SqlString." My query was originally something more complex, but I switched it to a basic fetch all and I'm still having the problem: Session.QueryOver<T>().Future(); It would seem to either be a problem in my model mapping files or something in my database. Here are my model mappings: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <hibernate-mapping xmlns="urn:nhibernate-mapping-2.2" assembly="GBI.Core" namespace="GBI.Core.Models"> <class name="Market" table="gbi_Market"> <id name="Id" column="MarketId"> <generator class="identity" /> </id> <property name="Name" /> <property name="Url" /> <property name="Description" type="StringClob" /> <property name="Rating" /> <property name="RatingComment" /> <property name="RatingCommentedOn" /> <many-to-one name="RatingCommentedBy" column="RatingCommentedBy" lazy="proxy"></many-to-one> <property name="ImageFilename" /> <property name="CreatedOn" /> <property name="ModifiedOn" /> <property name="IsDeleted" /> <many-to-one name="CreatedBy" column="CreatedBy" lazy="proxy"></many-to-one> <many-to-one name="ModifiedBy" column="ModifiedBy" lazy="proxy"></many-to-one> <set name="Content" where="IsDeleted=0 and ParentContentId is NULL" order-by="Ordering asc, CreatedOn asc, Name asc" lazy="extra"> <key column="MarketId" /> <one-to-many class="MarketContent" /> </set> <set name="FastFacts" where="IsDeleted=0" order-by="Ordering asc, CreatedOn asc, Name asc" lazy="extra"> <key column="MarketId" /> <one-to-many class="MarketFastFact" /> </set> <set name="NewsItems" table="gbi_NewsItem_Market_Map" lazy="true"> <key column="MarketId" /> <many-to-many class="NewsItem" fetch="join" column="NewsItemId" where="IsDeleted=0"/> </set> <!--<set name="MarketUpdates" table="gbi_Market_MarketUpdate_Map" lazy="extra"> <key column="MarketId" /> <many-to-many class="MarketUpdate" fetch="join" column="MarketUpdateId" where="IsDeleted=0" order-by="CreatedOn desc" /> </set>--> <set name="Documents" table="gbi_Market_Document_Map" lazy="true"> <key column="MarketId" /> <many-to-many class="Document" fetch="join" column="DocumentId" where="IsDeleted=0"/> </set> </class> <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <hibernate-mapping xmlns="urn:nhibernate-mapping-2.2" assembly="GBI.Core" namespace="GBI.Core.Models"> <class name="MarketUpdate" table="gbi_MarketUpdate"> <id name="Id" column="MarketUpdateId"> <generator class="identity" /> </id> <property name="Description" /> <property name="CreatedOn" /> <property name="ModifiedOn" /> <property name="IsDeleted" /> <!--<many-to-one name="Market" column="MarketId" lazy="proxy"></many-to-one>--> <set name="Comments" where="IsDeleted=0" order-by="CreatedOn desc" lazy="extra"> <key column="MarketUpdateId" /> <one-to-many class="MarketUpdateComment" /> </set> <many-to-one name="CreatedBy" column="CreatedBy" lazy="proxy"></many-to-one> <many-to-one name="ModifiedBy" column="ModifiedBy" lazy="proxy"></many-to-one> </class> <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <hibernate-mapping xmlns="urn:nhibernate-mapping-2.2" assembly="GBI.Core" namespace="GBI.Core.Models"> <class name="MarketUpdateMarketMap" table="gbi_Market_MarketUpdate_Map"> <id name="Id" column="MarketUpdateMarketMapId"> <generator class="identity" /> </id> <property name="CreatedOn" /> <property name="ModifiedOn" /> <property name="IsDeleted" /> <many-to-one name="CreatedBy" column="CreatedBy" lazy="proxy"></many-to-one> <many-to-one name="ModifiedBy" column="ModifiedBy" lazy="proxy"></many-to-one> <many-to-one name="MarketUpdate" column="MarketUpdateId" lazy="proxy"></many-to-one> <many-to-one name="Market" column="MarketId" lazy="proxy"></many-to-one> </class> As I mentioned, MarketUpdate was originally a many-to-one with Market (MarketId column is still in there, but I'm ignoring it. Could this be a problem?). But I've added in the Market_MarketUpdate_Map table to make it a many-to-many. I'm running in circles trying to figure out what this could be. I couldn't find any reference to this error when searching. And it doesn't provide much detail. Using: NHibernate 2.2 .NET 4.0 SQL Server 2005

  • How do you get XML::Pastor to set xsi:type for programmatically generated elements?

    - by Derrick
    I'm learning how to use Perl as an automation test framework tool for a Java web service and running into trouble generating xml requests from the Pastor generated modules. The problem is that when including a type that extends from the required type for an element, the xsi:type is not included in the generated xml string. Say, for example, I want to generate the following xml request from the modules that XML::Pastor generated from my xsd: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?> <PromptAnswersRequest xmlns="http://mycompany.com/api"> <Uri>/some/url</Uri> <User ref="1"/> <PromptAnswers> <PromptAnswer xsi:type="textPromptAnswer" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"> <Prompt ref="2"/> <Children> <PromptAnswer xsi:type="choicePromptAnswer"> <Prompt ref="1"/> <Choice ref="2"/> </PromptAnswer> </Children> <Value>totally</Value> </PromptAnswer> </PromptAnswers> </PromptAnswersRequest> What I'm getting currently is this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?> <PromptAnswersRequest xmlns="http://mycompany.com/api"> <Uri>/some/url</Uri> <User ref="1"/> <PromptAnswers> <PromptAnswer> <Prompt ref="2"/> <Children> <PromptAnswer> <Prompt ref="1"/> <Choice ref="2"/> </PromptAnswer> </Children> <Value>totally</Value> </PromptAnswer> </PromptAnswers> </PromptAnswersRequest> Here are some relavent snippets from the xsd: <xs:complexType name="request"> <xs:sequence> <xs:element name="Uri" type="xs:anyURI"/> </xs:sequence> </xs:complexType> <xs:complexType name="promptAnswersRequest"> <xs:complexContent> <xs:extension base="api:request"> <xs:sequence> <xs:element name="User" type="api:ref"/> <xs:element name="PromptAnswers" type="api:promptAnswerList"/> </xs:sequence> </xs:extension> </xs:complexContent> </xs:complexType> <xs:complexType name="promptAnswerList"> <xs:sequence> <xs:element name="PromptAnswer" type="api:promptAnswer" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded"/> </xs:sequence> </xs:complexType> <xs:complexType name="promptAnswer" abstract="true"> <xs:sequence> <xs:element name="Prompt" type="api:ref"/> <xs:element name="Children" type="api:promptAnswerList" minOccurs="0"/> </xs:sequence> </xs:complexType> <xs:complexType name="textPromptAnswer"> <xs:complexContent> <xs:extension base="promptAnswer"> <xs:sequence> <xs:element name="Value" type="api:nonEmptyString" minOccurs="0"/> </xs:sequence> </xs:extension> </xs:complexContent> </xs:complexType> And here are relavent parts of the script: my $promptAnswerList = new My::API::Type::promptAnswerList; my @promptAnswers; my $promptAnswerList2 = new My::API::Type::promptAnswerList; my @textPromptAnswerChildren; my $textPromptAnswer = new My::API::Type::textPromptAnswer; my $textPromptAnswerRef = new My::API::Type::ref; $textPromptAnswerRef->ref('2'); $textPromptAnswer->Prompt($textPromptAnswerRef); my $choicePromptAnswer = new My::API::Type::choicePromptAnswer; my $choicePromptAnswerPromptRef = new My::API::Type::ref; my $choicePromptAnswerChoiceRef = new My::API::Type::ref; $choicePromptAnswerPromptRef->ref('1'); $choicePromptAnswerChoiceRef->ref('2'); $choicePromptAnswer->Prompt($choicePromptAnswerPromptRef); $choicePromptAnswer->Choice($choicePromptAnswerChoiceRef); push(@textPromptAnswerChildren, $choicePromptAnswer); $promptAnswerList2->PromptAnswer(@textPromptAnswerChildren); $textPromptAnswer->Children($promptAnswerList2); $textPromptAnswer->Value('totally'); push(@promptAnswers, $pulseTextPromptAnswer); push(@promptAnswers, $textPromptAnswer); I haven't seen this addressed anywhere in the documentation for the XML::Pastor modules, so if anyone can point me at a good reference for its use it would be greatly appreciated. Also, I'm only using XML::Pastor because I don't know of any other modules that can do this, so if any of you know of something either easier to use, or more well maintained, please let me know about that too!

  • WPF Some styles not applied on DataTemplate controls

    - by Martin
    Hi, I am trying to learn something about WPF and I am quite amazed by its flexibility. However, I have hit a problem with Styles and DataTemplates, which is little bit confusing. I have defined below test page to play around a bit with styles etc and found that the Styles defined in <Page.Resources> for Border and TextBlock are not applied in the DataTemplate, but Style for ProgressBar defined in exactly the same way is applied. Source code (I just use Kaxaml and XamlPadX to view the result) <Page xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"> <Page.Resources> <Style TargetType="{x:Type Border}"> <Setter Property="Background" Value="SkyBlue"/> <Setter Property="BorderBrush" Value="Black"/> <Setter Property="BorderThickness" Value="2"/> <Setter Property="CornerRadius" Value="5"/> </Style> <Style TargetType="{x:Type TextBlock}"> <Setter Property="FontWeight" Value="Bold"/> </Style> <Style TargetType="{x:Type ProgressBar}"> <Setter Property="Height" Value="10"/> <Setter Property="Width" Value="100"/> <Setter Property="Foreground" Value="Red"/> </Style> <XmlDataProvider x:Key="TestData" XPath="/TestData"> <x:XData> <TestData xmlns=""> <TestElement> <Name>Item 1</Name> <Value>25</Value> </TestElement> <TestElement> <Name>Item 2</Name> <Value>50</Value> </TestElement> </TestData> </x:XData> </XmlDataProvider> <HierarchicalDataTemplate DataType="TestElement"> <Border Height="45" Width="120" Margin="5,5"> <StackPanel Orientation="Vertical" Margin="5,5" VerticalAlignment="Center" HorizontalAlignment="Center"> <TextBlock HorizontalAlignment="Center" Text="{Binding XPath=Name}"/> <ProgressBar Value="{Binding XPath=Value}"/> </StackPanel> </Border> </HierarchicalDataTemplate> </Page.Resources> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal" HorizontalAlignment="Center" VerticalAlignment="Center"> <StackPanel Orientation="Vertical" VerticalAlignment="Center"> <Border Height="45" Width="120" Margin="5,5"> <StackPanel Orientation="Vertical" VerticalAlignment="Center" HorizontalAlignment="Center"> <TextBlock HorizontalAlignment="Center" Text="Item 1"/> <ProgressBar Value="25"/> </StackPanel> </Border> <Border Height="45" Width="120" Margin="5,5"> <StackPanel Orientation="Vertical" VerticalAlignment="Center" HorizontalAlignment="Center"> <TextBlock HorizontalAlignment="Center" Text="Item 2"/> <ProgressBar Value="50"/> </StackPanel> </Border> </StackPanel> <ListBox Margin="10,10" Width="140" ItemsSource="{Binding Source={StaticResource TestData}, XPath=TestElement}"/> </StackPanel> </Page> I suspect it has something to do with default styles etc, but more puzzling is why some Styles are applied and some not. I cannot find an easy explanation for above anywhere and thus would like to ask if someone would be kind enough to explain this behaviour in lamens' terms with possible links to technical description, i.e. to MSDN or so. Thanks in advance for you support!

  • Allowing pop-up's and downloads with flex

    - by ShadowVariable
    I'm building an flex app that is basically a wrapper for a few websites. One of them is a google docs website, and I'm trying to get flex to allow downloads or popups or something that will allow me to do it. I've tried a whole bunch of solutions online and none of them have worked out. Here's the code so far: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <s:WindowedApplication xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009" xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark" xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx" width="100%" height="100%" creationComplete="onCreationComplete()"> <s:layout> <s:HorizontalLayout/> </s:layout> <fx:Style source="style.css"/> <fx:Script> <![CDATA[ include "CustomHTMLLoader.as"; private function onCreationComplete():void { // ... other stuff ... var custom:object; custom.htmlHost = new MyHTMLHost(); } ]]> </fx:Script> <fx:Declarations> <!-- Place non-visual elements (e.g., services, value objects) here --> </fx:Declarations> <s:BorderContainer width="100%" height="100%" backgroundColor="#87BED0" styleName="container"> <s:Panel x="188" y="17" width="826" height="112" borderAlpha="0.15" chromeColor="#0C5A74" color="#FFFFFF" cornerRadius="20" dropShadowVisible="false" enabled="true" title="Customer Service Control Panel"> <s:controlBarContent/> <s:Button id="home" x="13" y="10" height="44" label="Phones" click="myViewStack.selectedChild=Home;" enabled="true" icon="@Embed('assets/iconmonstr-mobile-phone-6-icon-32.png')"/> <s:Button id="liveagent" x="131" y="10" height="44" label="Live Agent" click="myViewStack.selectedChild=live_agent;" icon="@Embed('assets/iconmonstr-speech-bubble-11-icon-32.png')"/> <s:Button id="bigcommerce" x="260" y="10" width="158" height="44" label="Big Commerce" click="myViewStack.selectedChild=bigcommerce_home;" icon="@Embed('assets/iconmonstr-coin-6-icon-48.png')"/> <s:Button id="faq" x="436" y="10" width="88" height="44" label="FAQ" click="myViewStack.selectedChild=freqaskquestions;" fontFamily="Arial" icon="@Embed('assets/iconmonstr-help-4-icon-32.png')"/> <s:Button id="call" x="540" y="10" width="131" height="44" label="Google Docs" click="myViewStack.selectedChild=call_notes;" icon="@Embed('assets/iconmonstr-text-file-4-icon-32.png')"/> <s:Button id="hoot" x="684" y="10" width="122" height="44" label="HootSuite" click="myViewStack.selectedChild=hoot_suite;" icon="@Embed('assets/iconmonstr-facebook-icon-32.png')"/> </s:Panel> <mx:ViewStack id="myViewStack" x="0" y="140" width="100%" height="100%" borderStyle="solid"> <s:NavigatorContent id="Home"> <s:BorderContainer width="100%" height="100%"> <mx:HTML x="0" y="0" width="100%" height="100%" borderVisible="false" horizontalScrollPolicy="off" location="http://mbvphone.mtbakervapor.org/vbx/messages/inbox" /> </s:BorderContainer> </s:NavigatorContent> <s:NavigatorContent id="bigcommerce_home"> <s:BorderContainer width="100%" height="100%"> <mx:HTML x="0" y="0" width="100%" height="100%" borderVisible="false" horizontalScrollPolicy="off" location="http://www.mtbakervapor.com/admin" /> </s:BorderContainer> </s:NavigatorContent> <s:NavigatorContent id="live_agent"> <s:BorderContainer width="100%" height="100%"> <mx:HTML x="0" y="0" width="100%" height="100%" borderVisible="false" horizontalScrollPolicy="off" location="http://mbvphone.mtbakervapor.org/liveagent/agent/#login" /> </s:BorderContainer> </s:NavigatorContent> <s:NavigatorContent id="freqaskquestions"> <s:BorderContainer width="100%" height="100%"> <mx:HTML x="0" y="0" width="100%" height="100%" borderVisible="false" horizontalScrollPolicy="off" location="http://mbvphone.mtbakervapor.org/liveagent/" /> </s:BorderContainer> </s:NavigatorContent> <s:NavigatorContent id="call_notes"> <s:BorderContainer width="100%" height="100%"> <mx:HTML id="html" x="0" y="0" width="100%" height="100%" borderVisible="false" horizontalScrollPolicy="off" location="https://drive.google.com/a/mtbakervapor.com/" htmlHost="{new CustomHost()}" /> </s:BorderContainer> </s:NavigatorContent> <s:NavigatorContent id="hoot_suite"> <s:BorderContainer width="100%" height="100%"> <mx:HTML x="0" y="0" width="100%" height="100%" borderVisible="false" horizontalScrollPolicy="off" location="https://hootsuite.com/login" /> </s:BorderContainer> </s:NavigatorContent> </mx:ViewStack> <s:Image x="0" y="0" width="180" height="140" scaleMode="letterbox" smooth="false" source="assets/mbvlogo_black.png"/> </s:BorderContainer> </s:WindowedApplication> and the custom class code: package { import flash.html.HTMLHost; import flash.html.HTMLWindowCreateOptions; import flash.html.HTMLLoader; public class MyHTMLHost extends HTMLHost { public function MyHTMLHost(defaultBehaviors:Boolean=true) { super(defaultBehaviors); } override public function createWindow(windowCreateOptions:HTMLWindowCreateOptions):HTMLLoader { // all JS calls and HREFs to open a new window should use the existing window return HTMLLoader.createRootWindow(); } } } any help would be appreciated.

  • Can't get running JPA2 with Hibernate and Maven

    - by erlord
    Have been trying the whole day long and googled the ** out of the web ... in vain. You are my last hope: Here's my code: The Entity: package sas.test.model; import javax.persistence.Entity; import javax.persistence.Id; @Entity public class Employee { @Id private int id; private String name; private long salary; public Employee() {} public Employee(int id) { this.id = id; } public int getId() { return id; } public void setId(int id) { this.id = id; } public String getName() { return name; } public void setName(String name) { this.name = name; } public long getSalary() { return salary; } public void setSalary (long salary) { this.salary = salary; } } The service class: package sas.test.dao; import sas.test.model.Employee; import javax.persistence.*; import java.util.List; public class EmployeeService { protected EntityManager em; public EmployeeService(EntityManager em) { this.em = em; } public Employee createEmployee(int id, String name, long salary) { Employee emp = new Employee(id); emp.setName(name); emp.setSalary(salary); em.persist(emp); return emp; } public void removeEmployee(int id) { Employee emp = findEmployee(id); if (emp != null) { em.remove(emp); } } public Employee raiseEmployeeSalary(int id, long raise) { Employee emp = em.find(Employee.class, id); if (emp != null) { emp.setSalary(emp.getSalary() + raise); } return emp; } public Employee findEmployee(int id) { return em.find(Employee.class, id); } } And the main class: package sas.test.main; import javax.persistence.*; import java.util.List; import sas.test.model.Employee; import sas.test.dao.EmployeeService; public class ExecuteMe { public static void main(String[] args) { EntityManagerFactory emf = Persistence.createEntityManagerFactory("EmployeeService"); EntityManager em = emf.createEntityManager(); EmployeeService service = new EmployeeService(em); // create and persist an employee em.getTransaction().begin(); Employee emp = service.createEmployee(158, "John Doe", 45000); em.getTransaction().commit(); System.out.println("Persisted " + emp); // find a specific employee emp = service.findEmployee(158); System.out.println("Found " + emp); // find all employees // List<Employee> emps = service.findAllEmployees(); // for (Employee e : emps) // System.out.println("Found employee: " + e); // update the employee em.getTransaction().begin(); emp = service.raiseEmployeeSalary(158, 1000); em.getTransaction().commit(); System.out.println("Updated " + emp); // remove an employee em.getTransaction().begin(); service.removeEmployee(158); em.getTransaction().commit(); System.out.println("Removed Employee 158"); // close the EM and EMF when done em.close(); Any "Hello World" maven/JPA2 demo that actually runs? I couldn't get any of those provided by google's search running. Thanx in advance.

  • Sensible Way to Pass Web Data in XML to a SQL Server Database

    - by Emtucifor
    After exploring several different ways to pass web data to a database for update purposes, I'm wondering if XML might be a good strategy. The database is currently SQL 2000. In a few months it will move to SQL 2005 and I will be able to change things if needed, but I need a SQL 2000 solution now. First of all, the database in question uses the EAV model. I know that this kind of database is generally highly frowned on, so for the purposes of this question, please just accept that this is not going to change. The current update method has the web server inserting values (that have all been converted first to their correct underlying types, then to sql_variant) to a temp table. A stored procedure is then run which expects the temp table to exist and it takes care of updating, inserting, or deleting things as needed. So far, only a single element has needed to be updated at a time. But now, there is a requirement to be able to edit multiple elements at once, and also to support hierarchical elements, each of which can have its own list of attributes. Here's some example XML I hand-typed to demonstrate what I'm thinking of. Note that in this database the Entity is Element and an ID of 0 signifies "create" aka an insert of a new item. <Elements> <Element ID="1234"> <Attr ID="221">Value</Attr> <Attr ID="225">287</Attr> <Attr ID="234"> <Element ID="99825"> <Attr ID="7">Value1</Attr> <Attr ID="8">Value2</Attr> <Attr ID="9" Action="delete" /> </Element> <Element ID="99826" Action="delete" /> <Element ID="0" Type="24"> <Attr ID="7">Value4</Attr> <Attr ID="8">Value5</Attr> <Attr ID="9">Value6</Attr> </Element> <Element ID="0" Type="24"> <Attr ID="7">Value7</Attr> <Attr ID="8">Value8</Attr> <Attr ID="9">Value9</Attr> </Element> </Attr> <Rel ID="3827" Action="delete" /> <Rel ID="2284" Role="parent"> <Element ID="3827" /> <Element ID="3829" /> <Attr ID="665">1</Attr> </Rel> <Rel ID="0" Type="23" Role="child"> <Element ID="3830" /> <Attr ID="67" </Rel> </Element> <Element ID="0" Type="87"> <Attr ID="221">Value</Attr> <Attr ID="225">569</Attr> <Attr ID="234"> <Element ID="0" Type="24"> <Attr ID="7">Value10</Attr> <Attr ID="8">Value11</Attr> <Attr ID="9">Value12</Attr> </Element> </Attr> </Element> <Element ID="1235" Action="delete" /> </Elements> Some Attributes are straight value types, such as AttrID 221. But AttrID 234 is a special "multi-value" type that can have a list of elements underneath it, and each one can have one or more values. Types only need to be presented when a new item is created, since the ElementID fully implies the type if it already exists. I'll probably support only passing in changed items (as detected by javascript). And there may be an Action="Delete" on Attr elements as well, since NULLs are treated as "unselected"--sometimes it's very important to know if a Yes/No question has intentionally been answered No or if no one's bothered to say Yes yet. There is also a different kind of data, a Relationship. At this time, those are updated through individual AJAX calls as things are edited in the UI, but I'd like to include those so that changes to relationships can be canceled (right now, once you change it, it's done). So those are really elements, too, but they are called Rel instead of Element. Relationships are implemented as ElementID1 and ElementID2, so the RelID 2284 in the XML above is in the database as: ElementID 2284 ElementID1 1234 ElementID2 3827 Having multiple children in one relationship isn't currently supported, but it would be nice later. Does this strategy and the example XML make sense? Is there a more sensible way? I'm just looking for some broad critique to help save me from going down a bad path. Any aspect that you'd like to comment on would be helpful. The web language happens to be Classic ASP, but that could change to ASP.Net at some point. A persistence engine like Linq or nHibernate is probably not acceptable right now--I just want to get this already working application enhanced without a huge amount of development time. I'll choose the answer that shows experience and has a balance of good warnings about what not to do, confirmations of what I'm planning to do, and recommendations about something else to do. I'll make it as objective as possible. P.S. I'd like to handle unicode characters as well as very long strings (10k +). UPDATE I have had this working for some time and I used the ADO Recordset Save-To-Stream trick to make creating the XML really easy. The result seems to be fairly fast, though if speed ever becomes a problem I may revisit this. In the meantime, my code works to handle any number of elements and attributes on the page at once, including updating, deleting, and creating new items all in one go. I settled on a scheme like so for all my elements: Existing data elements Example: input name e12345_a678 (element 12345, attribute 678), the input value is the value of the attribute. New elements Javascript copies a hidden template of the set of HTML elements needed for the type into the correct location on the page, increments a counter to get a new ID for this item, and prepends the number to the names of the form items. var newid = 0; function metadataAdd(reference, nameid, value) { var t = document.createElement('input'); t.setAttribute('name', nameid); t.setAttribute('id', nameid); t.setAttribute('type', 'hidden'); t.setAttribute('value', value); reference.appendChild(t); } function multiAdd(target, parentelementid, attrid, elementtypeid) { var proto = document.getElementById('a' + attrid + '_proto'); var instance = document.createElement('p'); target.parentNode.parentNode.insertBefore(instance, target.parentNode); var thisid = ++newid; instance.innerHTML = proto.innerHTML.replace(/{prefix}/g, 'n' + thisid + '_'); instance.id = 'n' + thisid; instance.className += ' new'; metadataAdd(instance, 'n' + thisid + '_p', parentelementid); metadataAdd(instance, 'n' + thisid + '_c', attrid); metadataAdd(instance, 'n' + thisid + '_t', elementtypeid); return false; } Example: Template input name _a678 becomes n1_a678 (a new element, the first one on the page, attribute 678). all attributes of this new element are tagged with the same prefix of n1. The next new item will be n2, and so on. Some hidden form inputs are created: n1_t, value is the elementtype of the element to be created n1_p, value is the parent id of the element (if it is a relationship) n1_c, value is the child id of the element (if it is a relationship) Deleting elements A hidden input is created in the form e12345_t with value set to 0. The existing controls displaying that attribute's values are disabled so they are not included in the form post. So "set type to 0" is treated as delete. With this scheme, every item on the page has a unique name and can be distinguished properly, and every action can be represented properly. When the form is posted, here's a sample of building one of the two recordsets used (classic ASP code): Set Data = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset") Data.Fields.Append "ElementID", adInteger, 4, adFldKeyColumn Data.Fields.Append "AttrID", adInteger, 4, adFldKeyColumn Data.Fields.Append "Value", adLongVarWChar, 2147483647, adFldIsNullable Or adFldMayBeNull Data.CursorLocation = adUseClient Data.CursorType = adOpenDynamic Data.Open This is the recordset for values, the other is for the elements themselves. I step through the posted form and for the element recordset use a Scripting.Dictionary populated with instances of a custom Class that has the properties I need, so that I can add the values piecemeal, since they don't always come in order. New elements are added as negative to distinguish them from regular elements (rather than requiring a separate column to indicate if it is new or addresses an existing element). I use regular expression to tear apart the form keys: "^(e|n)([0-9]{1,10})_(a|p|t|c)([0-9]{0,10})$" Then, adding an attribute looks like this. Data.AddNew ElementID.Value = DataID AttrID.Value = Integerize(Matches(0).SubMatches(3)) AttrValue.Value = Request.Form(Key) Data.Update ElementID, AttrID, and AttrValue are references to the fields of the recordset. This method is hugely faster than using Data.Fields("ElementID").Value each time. I loop through the Dictionary of element updates and ignore any that don't have all the proper information, adding the good ones to the recordset. Then I call my data-updating stored procedure like so: Set Cmd = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Command") With Cmd Set .ActiveConnection = MyDBConn .CommandType = adCmdStoredProc .CommandText = "DataPost" .Prepared = False .Parameters.Append .CreateParameter("@ElementMetadata", adLongVarWChar, adParamInput, 2147483647, XMLFromRecordset(Element)) .Parameters.Append .CreateParameter("@ElementData", adLongVarWChar, adParamInput, 2147483647, XMLFromRecordset(Data)) End With Result.Open Cmd ' previously created recordset object with options set Here's the function that does the xml conversion: Private Function XMLFromRecordset(Recordset) Dim Stream Set Stream = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Stream") Stream.Open Recordset.Save Stream, adPersistXML Stream.Position = 0 XMLFromRecordset = Stream.ReadText End Function Just in case the web page needs to know, the SP returns a recordset of any new elements, showing their page value and their created value (so I can see that n1 is now e12346 for example). Here are some key snippets from the stored procedure. Note this is SQL 2000 for now, though I'll be able to switch to 2005 soon: CREATE PROCEDURE [dbo].[DataPost] @ElementMetaData ntext, @ElementData ntext AS DECLARE @hdoc int --- snip --- EXEC sp_xml_preparedocument @hdoc OUTPUT, @ElementMetaData, '<xml xmlns:s="uuid:BDC6E3F0-6DA3-11d1-A2A3-00AA00C14882" xmlns:dt="uuid:C2F41010-65B3-11d1-A29F-00AA00C14882" xmlns:rs="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:rowset" xmlns:z="#RowsetSchema" />' INSERT #ElementMetadata (ElementID, ElementTypeID, ElementID1, ElementID2) SELECT * FROM OPENXML(@hdoc, '/xml/rs:data/rs:insert/z:row', 0) WITH ( ElementID int, ElementTypeID int, ElementID1 int, ElementID2 int ) ORDER BY ElementID -- orders negative items (new elements) first so they begin counting at 1 for later ID calculation EXEC sp_xml_removedocument @hdoc --- snip --- UPDATE E SET E.ElementTypeID = M.ElementTypeID FROM Element E INNER JOIN #ElementMetadata M ON E.ElementID = M.ElementID WHERE E.ElementID >= 1 AND M.ElementTypeID >= 1 The following query does the correlation of the negative new element ids to the newly inserted ones: UPDATE #ElementMetadata -- Correlate the new ElementIDs with the input rows SET NewElementID = Scope_Identity() - @@RowCount + DataID WHERE ElementID < 0 Other set-based queries do all the other work of validating that the attributes are allowed, are the correct data type, and inserting, updating, and deleting elements and attributes. I hope this brief run-down is useful to others some day! Converting ADO Recordsets to an XML stream was a huge winner for me as it saved all sorts of time and had a namespace and schema already defined that made the results come out correctly. Using a flatter XML format with 2 inputs was also much easier than sticking to some ideal about having everything in a single XML stream.

  • MEF CompositionInitializer for WPF

    - by Reed
    The Managed Extensibility Framework is an amazingly useful addition to the .NET Framework.  I was very excited to see System.ComponentModel.Composition added to the core framework.  Personally, I feel that MEF is one tool I’ve always been missing in my .NET development. Unfortunately, one perfect scenario for MEF tends to fall short of it’s full potential is in Windows Presentation Foundation development.  In particular, there are many times when the XAML parser constructs objects in WPF development, which makes composition of those parts difficult.  The current release of MEF (Preview Release 9) addresses this for Silverlight developers via System.ComponentModel.Composition.CompositionInitializer.  However, there is no equivalent class for WPF developers. The CompositionInitializer class provides the means for an object to compose itself.  This is very useful with WPF and Silverlight development, since it allows a View, such as a UserControl, to be generated via the standard XAML parser, and still automatically pull in the appropriate ViewModel in an extensible manner.  Glenn Block has demonstrated the usage for Silverlight in detail, but the same issues apply in WPF. As an example, let’s take a look at a very simple case.  Take the following XAML for a Window: <Window x:Class="WpfApplication1.MainView" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="MainWindow" Height="220" Width="300"> <Grid> <TextBlock Text="{Binding TheText}" /> </Grid> </Window> This does nothing but create a Window, add a simple TextBlock control, and use it to display the value of our “TheText” property in our DataContext class.  Since this is our main window, WPF will automatically construct and display this Window, so we need to handle constructing the DataContext and setting it ourselves. We could do this in code or in XAML, but in order to do it directly, we would need to hard code the ViewModel type directly into our XAML code, or we would need to construct the ViewModel class and set it in the code behind.  Both have disadvantages, and the disadvantages grow if we’re using MEF to compose our ViewModel. Ideally, we’d like to be able to have MEF construct our ViewModel for us.  This way, it can provide any construction requirements for our ViewModel via [ImportingConstructor], and it can handle fully composing the imported properties on our ViewModel.  CompositionInitializer allows this to occur. We use CompositionInitializer within our View’s constructor, and use it for self-composition of our View.  Using CompositionInitializer, we can modify our code behind to: public partial class MainView : Window { public MainView() { InitializeComponent(); CompositionInitializer.SatisfyImports(this); } [Import("MainViewModel")] public object ViewModel { get { return this.DataContext; } set { this.DataContext = value; } } } We then can add an Export on our ViewModel class like so: [Export("MainViewModel")] public class MainViewModel { public string TheText { get { return "Hello World!"; } } } MEF will automatically compose our application, decoupling our ViewModel injection to the DataContext of our View until runtime.  When we run this, we’ll see: There are many other approaches for using MEF to wire up the extensible parts within your application, of course.  However, any time an object is going to be constructed by code outside of your control, CompositionInitializer allows us to continue to use MEF to satisfy the import requirements of that object. In order to use this from WPF, I’ve ported the code from MEF Preview 9 and Glenn Block’s (now obsolete) PartInitializer port to Windows Presentation Foundation.  There are some subtle changes from the Silverlight port, mainly to handle running in a desktop application context.  The default behavior of my port is to construct an AggregateCatalog containing a DirectoryCatalog set to the location of the entry assembly of the application.  In addition, if an “Extensions” folder exists under the entry assembly’s directory, a second DirectoryCatalog for that folder will be included.  This behavior can be overridden by specifying a CompositionContainer or one or more ComposablePartCatalogs to the System.ComponentModel.Composition.Hosting.CompositionHost static class prior to the first use of CompositionInitializer. Please download CompositionInitializer and CompositionHost for VS 2010 RC, and contact me with any feedback. Composition.Initialization.Desktop.zip Edit on 3/29: Glenn Block has since updated his version of CompositionInitializer (and ExportFactory<T>!), and made it available here: http://cid-f8b2fd72406fb218.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/blog/Composition.Initialization.Desktop.zip This is a .NET 3.5 solution, and should soon be pushed to CodePlex, and made available on the main MEF site.

  • How to deploy Document Set using CAML in SharePoint2010 solution package

    - by ybbest
    In my last post, I showed you how to use Document Set using SharePoint UI in the browser. In this post, I’d like to show you how to create the same Document Set using CAML and SharePoint solution package. You can download the complete solution here. 1. Create the Application Number site column using the SharePoint empty element item template in VS2010 <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <Elements xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/"> <Field Type="Text" DisplayName="ApplicationNumber" Required="FALSE" EnforceUniqueValues="FALSE" Indexed="FALSE" MaxLength="255" Group="YBBEST" ID="{916bf3af-5ec1-4441-acd8-88ff62ab1b7e}" Name="ApplicationNumber" ></Field> </Elements> 2. Create the Loan Application Form and Loan Contract Form content types. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <Elements xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/"> <!-- Parent ContentType: Document (0x0101) --> <ContentType ID="0x0101005dfbf820ce3c49f69c73a00e0e0e53f6" Name="Loan Contract Form" Group="YBBEST" Description="Loan Contract Form" Inherits="TRUE" Version="0"> <FieldRefs> <FieldRef ID="916bf3af-5ec1-4441-acd8-88ff62ab1b7e" Name="ApplicationNumber" DisplayName="ApplicationNumber" /> </FieldRefs> </ContentType> <!-- Parent ContentType: Document (0x0101) --> <ContentType ID="0x010100f3016e3d03454b93bc4d6ab63941c0d2" Name="Loan Application Form" Group="YBBEST" Description="Loan Application Form" Inherits="TRUE" Version="0"> <FieldRefs> <FieldRef ID="916bf3af-5ec1-4441-acd8-88ff62ab1b7e" Name="ApplicationNumber" DisplayName="ApplicationNumber" /> </FieldRefs> </ContentType> </Elements> 3. Create the Loan Application Document Set. 4. Create the Document Set Welcome Page using the SharePoint Module item template. Notes: 1.When creating document set content type , you need to set the  Inherits=”FALSE”  or remove the  Inherits=”TRUE” from the content type definition (default is  Inherits=”FALSE”) . This is the Document Set limitation in the current version of SharePoint2010. Because of this , you also need to manually  attach the event receiver and  Document Set welcome page to your custom Document Set Content Type. 2. Shared Fields are push down only: 3. Not available in SharePoint foundation (only SharePoint Server 2010). 4. You can’t have folders within document sets (you can place document sets in folders though). For a complete limitation and considerations , you can see the references for details. • Detecting Idle Time with Global Mouse and Keyboard Hooks in WPF

    - by jdanforth
    Years and years ago I wrote this blog post about detecting if the user was idle or active at the keyboard (and mouse) using a global hook. Well that code was for .NET 2.0 and Windows Forms and for some reason I wanted to try the same in WPF and noticed that a few things around the keyboard and mouse hooks didn’t work as expected in the WPF environment. So I had to change a few things and here’s the code for it, working in .NET 4. I took the liberty and refactored a few things while at it and here’s the code now. I’m sure I will need it in the far future as well. using System; using System.Diagnostics; using System.Runtime.InteropServices; namespace Irm.Tim.Snapper.Util { public class ClientIdleHandler : IDisposable { public bool IsActive { get; set; } int _hHookKbd; int _hHookMouse; public delegate int HookProc(int nCode, IntPtr wParam, IntPtr lParam); public event HookProc MouseHookProcedure; public event HookProc KbdHookProcedure; //Use this function to install thread-specific hook. [DllImport("user32.dll", CharSet = CharSet.Auto, CallingConvention = CallingConvention.StdCall)] public static extern int SetWindowsHookEx(int idHook, HookProc lpfn, IntPtr hInstance, int threadId); //Call this function to uninstall the hook. [DllImport("user32.dll", CharSet = CharSet.Auto, CallingConvention = CallingConvention.StdCall)] public static extern bool UnhookWindowsHookEx(int idHook); //Use this function to pass the hook information to next hook procedure in chain. [DllImport("user32.dll", CharSet = CharSet.Auto, CallingConvention = CallingConvention.StdCall)] public static extern int CallNextHookEx(int idHook, int nCode, IntPtr wParam, IntPtr lParam); //Use this hook to get the module handle, needed for WPF environment [DllImport("kernel32.dll", CharSet = CharSet.Auto)] public static extern IntPtr GetModuleHandle(string lpModuleName); public enum HookType : int { GlobalKeyboard = 13, GlobalMouse = 14 } public int MouseHookProc(int nCode, IntPtr wParam, IntPtr lParam) { //user is active, at least with the mouse IsActive = true; Debug.Print("Mouse active"); //just return the next hook return CallNextHookEx(_hHookMouse, nCode, wParam, lParam); } public int KbdHookProc(int nCode, IntPtr wParam, IntPtr lParam) { //user is active, at least with the keyboard IsActive = true; Debug.Print("Keyboard active"); //just return the next hook return CallNextHookEx(_hHookKbd, nCode, wParam, lParam); } public void Start() { using (var currentProcess = Process.GetCurrentProcess()) using (var mainModule = currentProcess.MainModule) { if (_hHookMouse == 0) { // Create an instance of HookProc. MouseHookProcedure = new HookProc(MouseHookProc); // Create an instance of HookProc. KbdHookProcedure = new HookProc(KbdHookProc); //register a global hook _hHookMouse = SetWindowsHookEx((int)HookType.GlobalMouse, MouseHookProcedure, GetModuleHandle(mainModule.ModuleName), 0); if (_hHookMouse == 0) { Close(); throw new ApplicationException("SetWindowsHookEx() failed for the mouse"); } } if (_hHookKbd == 0) { //register a global hook _hHookKbd = SetWindowsHookEx((int)HookType.GlobalKeyboard, KbdHookProcedure, GetModuleHandle(mainModule.ModuleName), 0); if (_hHookKbd == 0) { Close(); throw new ApplicationException("SetWindowsHookEx() failed for the keyboard"); } } } } public void Close() { if (_hHookMouse != 0) { bool ret = UnhookWindowsHookEx(_hHookMouse); if (ret == false) { throw new ApplicationException("UnhookWindowsHookEx() failed for the mouse"); } _hHookMouse = 0; } if (_hHookKbd != 0) { bool ret = UnhookWindowsHookEx(_hHookKbd); if (ret == false) { throw new ApplicationException("UnhookWindowsHookEx() failed for the keyboard"); } _hHookKbd = 0; } } #region IDisposable Members public void Dispose() { if (_hHookMouse != 0 || _hHookKbd != 0) Close(); } #endregion } } The way you use it is quite simple, for example in a WPF application with a simple Window and a TextBlock: <Window x:Class="WpfApplication2.MainWindow" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="MainWindow" Height="350" Width="525"> <Grid> <TextBlock Name="IdleTextBox"/> </Grid> </Window> And in the code behind we wire up the ClientIdleHandler and a DispatcherTimer that ticks every second: public partial class MainWindow : Window { private DispatcherTimer _dispatcherTimer; private ClientIdleHandler _clientIdleHandler; public MainWindow() { InitializeComponent(); } private void Window_Loaded(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { //start client idle hook _clientIdleHandler = new ClientIdleHandler(); _clientIdleHandler.Start(); //start timer _dispatcherTimer = new DispatcherTimer(); _dispatcherTimer.Tick += TimerTick; _dispatcherTimer.Interval = new TimeSpan(0, 0, 0, 1); _dispatcherTimer.Start(); } private void TimerTick(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (_clientIdleHandler.IsActive) { IdleTextBox.Text = "Active"; //reset IsActive flag _clientIdleHandler.IsActive = false; } else IdleTextBox.Text = "Idle"; } } Remember to reset the ClientIdleHandle IsActive flag after a check.

The previous posts were: JMS Step 1 - How to Create a Simple JMS Queue in Weblogic Server 11g JMS Step 2 - Using the QueueSend.java Sample Program to Send a Message to a JMS Queue JMS Step 3 - Using the QueueReceive.java Sample Program to Read a Message from a JMS Queue JMS Step 4 - How to Create an 11g BPEL Process Which Writes a Message Based on an XML Schema to a JMS Queue Today we will create a BPEL process which will read (dequeue) the message from the JMS queue, which we enqueued in the last example. The JMS adapter will dequeue the full XML payload from the queue. 1. Recap and Prerequisites In the previous examples, we created a JMS Queue, a Connection Factory and a Connection Pool in the WebLogic Server Console. Then we designed and deployed a BPEL composite, which took a simple XML payload and enqueued it to the JMS queue. In this example, we will read that same message from the queue, using a JMS adapter and a BPEL process. As many of the configuration steps required to read from that queue were done in the previous samples, this one will concentrate on the new steps. A summary of the required objects is listed below. To find out how to create them please see the previous samples. They also include instructions on how to verify the objects are set up correctly. WebLogic Server Objects Object Name Type JNDI Name TestConnectionFactory Connection Factory jms/TestConnectionFactory TestJMSQueue JMS Queue jms/TestJMSQueue eis/wls/TestQueue Connection Pool eis/wls/TestQueue Schema XSD File The following XSD file is used for the message format. It was created in the previous example and will be copied to the new process. stringPayload.xsd <?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252" ?> <xsd:schema xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"                 xmlns="http://www.example.org"                 targetNamespace="http://www.example.org"                 elementFormDefault="qualified">   <xsd:element name="exampleElement" type="xsd:string">   </xsd:element> </xsd:schema> JMS Message After executing the previous samples, the following XML message should be in the JMS queue located at jms/TestJMSQueue: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?><exampleElement xmlns="http://www.example.org">Test Message</exampleElement> JDeveloper Connection You will need a valid Application Server Connection in JDeveloper pointing to the SOA server which the process will be deployed to. 2. Create a BPEL Composite with a JMS Adapter Partner Link In the previous example, we created a composite in JDeveloper called JmsAdapterWriteSchema. In this one, we will create a new composite called JmsAdapterReadSchema. There are probably many ways of incorporating a JMS adapter into a SOA composite for incoming messages. One way is design the process in such a way that the adapter polls for new messages and when it dequeues one, initiates a SOA or BPEL instance. This is possibly the most common use case. Other use cases include mid-flow adapters, which are activated from within the BPEL process. In this example we will use a polling adapter, because it is the most simple to set up and demonstrate. But it has one disadvantage as a demonstrative model. When a polling adapter is active, it will dequeue all messages as soon as they reach the queue. This makes it difficult to monitor messages we are writing to the queue, because they will disappear from the queue as soon as they have been enqueued. To work around this, we will shut down the composite after deploying it and restart it as required. (Another solution for this would be to pause the consumption for the queue and resume consumption again if needed. This can be done in the WLS console JMS-Modules -> queue -> Control -> Consumption -> Pause/Resume.) We will model the composite as a one-way incoming process. Usually, a BPEL process will do something useful with the message after receiving it, such as passing it to a database or file adapter, a human workflow or external web service. But we only want to demonstrate how to dequeue a JMS message using BPEL and a JMS adapter, so we won’t complicate the design with further activities. However, we do want to be able to verify that we have read the message correctly, so the BPEL process will include a small piece of embedded java code, which will print the message to standard output, so we can view it in the SOA server’s log file. Alternatively, you can view the instance in the Enterprise Manager and verify the message. The following steps are all executed in JDeveloper. Create the project in the same JDeveloper application used for the previous examples or create a new one. Create a SOA Project Create a new project and choose SOA Tier > SOA Project as its type. Name it JmsAdapterReadSchema. When prompted for the composite type, choose Empty Composite. Create a JMS Adapter Partner Link In the composite editor, drag a JMS adapter over from the Component Palette to the left-hand swim lane, under Exposed Services. This will start the JMS Adapter Configuration Wizard. Use the following entries: Service Name: JmsAdapterRead Oracle Enterprise Messaging Service (OEMS): Oracle WebLogic JMS AppServer Connection: Use an application server connection pointing to the WebLogic server on which the JMS queue and connection factory mentioned under Prerequisites above are located. Adapter Interface > Interface: Define from operation and schema (specified later) Operation Type: Consume Message Operation Name: Consume_message Consume Operation Parameters Destination Name: Press the Browse button, select Destination Type: Queues, then press Search. Wait for the list to populate, then select the entry for TestJMSQueue , which is the queue created in a previous example. JNDI Name: The JNDI name to use for the JMS connection. As in the previous example, this is probably the most common source of error. This is the JNDI name of the JMS adapter’s connection pool created in the WebLogic Server and which points to the connection factory. JDeveloper does not verify the value entered here. If you enter a wrong value, the JMS adapter won’t find the queue and you will get an error message at runtime, which is very difficult to trace. In our example, this is the value eis/wls/TestQueue . (See the earlier step on how to create a JMS Adapter Connection Pool in WebLogic Server for details.) Messages/Message SchemaURL: We will use the XSD file created during the previous example, in the JmsAdapterWriteSchema project to define the format for the incoming message payload and, at the same time, demonstrate how to import an existing XSD file into a JDeveloper project. Press the magnifying glass icon to search for schema files. In the Type Chooser, press the Import Schema File button. Select the magnifying glass next to URL to search for schema files. Navigate to the location of the JmsAdapterWriteSchema project > xsd and select the stringPayload.xsd file. Check the “Copy to Project” checkbox, press OK and confirm the following Localize Files popup. Now that the XSD file has been copied to the local project, it can be selected from the project’s schema files. Expand Project Schema Files > stringPayload.xsd and select exampleElement: string . Press Next and Finish, which will complete the JMS Adapter configuration.Save the project. Create a BPEL Component Drag a BPEL Process from the Component Palette (Service Components) to the Components section of the composite designer. Name it JmsAdapterReadSchema and select Template: Define Service Later and press OK. Wire the JMS Adapter to the BPEL Component Now wire the JMS adapter to the BPEL process, by dragging the arrow from the adapter to the BPEL process. A Transaction Properties popup will be displayed. Set the delivery mode to async.persist. This completes the steps at the composite level. 3 . Complete the BPEL Process Design Invoke the BPEL Flow via the JMS Adapter Open the BPEL component by double-clicking it in the design view of the composite.xml, or open it from the project navigator by selecting the JmsAdapterReadSchema.bpel file. This will display the BPEL process in the design view. You should see the JmsAdapterRead partner link in the left-hand swim lane. Drag a Receive activity onto the BPEL flow diagram, then drag a wire (left-hand yellow arrow) from it to the JMS adapter. This will open the Receive activity editor. Auto-generate the variable by pressing the green “+” button and check the “Create Instance” checkbox. This will result in a BPEL instance being created when a new JMS message is received. At this point it would actually be OK to compile and deploy the composite and it would pick up any messages from the JMS queue. In fact, you can do that to test it, if you like. But it is very rudimentary and would not be doing anything useful with the message. Also, you could only verify the actual message payload by looking at the instance’s flow in the Enterprise Manager. There are various other possibilities; we could pass the message to another web service, write it to a file using a file adapter or to a database via a database adapter etc. But these will all introduce unnecessary complications to our sample. So, to keep it simple, we will add a small piece of Java code to the BPEL process which will write the payload to standard output. This will be written to the server’s log file, which will be easy to monitor. Add a Java Embedding Activity First get the full name of the process’s input variable, as this will be needed for the Java code. Go to the Structure pane and expand Variables > Process > Variables. Then expand the input variable, for example, "Receive1_Consume_Message_InputVariable > body > ns2:exampleElement”, and note variable’s name and path, if they are different from this one. Drag a Java Embedding activity from the Component Palette (Oracle Extensions) to the BPEL flow, after the Receive activity, then open it to edit. Delete the example code and replace it with the following, replacing the variable parts with those in your sample, if necessary.: System.out.println("JmsAdapterReadSchema process picked up a message"); oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLElement inputPayload =    (oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLElement)getVariableData(                           "Receive1_Consume_Message_InputVariable",                           "body",                           "/ns2:exampleElement");   String inputString = inputPayload.getFirstChild().getNodeValue(); System.out.println("Input String is " + inputPayload.getFirstChild().getNodeValue()); Tip. If you are not sure of the exact syntax of the input variable, create an Assign activity in the BPEL process and copy the variable to another, temporary one. Then check the syntax created by the BPEL designer. This completes the BPEL process design in JDeveloper. Save, compile and deploy the process to the SOA server. 3. Test the Composite Shut Down the JmsAdapterReadSchema Composite After deploying the JmsAdapterReadSchema composite to the SOA server it is automatically activated. If there are already any messages in the queue, the adapter will begin polling them. To ease the testing process, we will deactivate the process first Log in to the Enterprise Manager (Fusion Middleware Control) and navigate to SOA > soa-infra (soa_server1) > default (or wherever you deployed your composite to) and click on JmsAdapterReadSchema [1.0] . Press the Shut Down button to disable the composite and confirm the following popup. Monitor Messages in the JMS Queue In a separate browser window, log in to the WebLogic Server Console and navigate to Services > Messaging > JMS Modules > TestJMSModule > TestJMSQueue > Monitoring. This is the location of the JMS queue we created in an earlier sample (see the prerequisites section of this sample). Check whether there are any messages already in the queue. If so, you can dequeue them using the QueueReceive Java program created in an earlier sample. This will ensure that the queue is empty and doesn’t contain any messages in the wrong format, which would cause the JmsAdapterReadSchema to fail. Send a Test Message In the Enterprise Manager, navigate to the JmsAdapterWriteSchema created earlier, press Test and send a test message, for example “Message from JmsAdapterWriteSchema”. Confirm that the message was written correctly to the queue by verifying it via the queue monitor in the WLS Console. Monitor the SOA Server’s Output A program deployed on the SOA server will write its standard output to the terminal window in which the server was started, unless this has been redirected to somewhere else, for example to a file. If it has not been redirected, go to the terminal session in which the server was started, otherwise open and monitor the file to which it was redirected. Re-Enable the JmsAdapterReadSchema Composite In the Enterprise Manager, navigate to the JmsAdapterReadSchema composite again and press Start Up to re-enable it. This should cause the JMS adapter to dequeue the test message and the following output should be written to the server’s standard output: JmsAdapterReadSchema process picked up a message. Input String is Message from JmsAdapterWriteSchema Note that you can also monitor the payload received by the process, by navigating to the the JmsAdapterReadSchema’s Instances tab in the Enterprise Manager. Then select the latest instance and view the flow of the BPEL component. The Receive activity will contain and display the dequeued message too. 4 . Troubleshooting This sample demonstrates how to dequeue an XML JMS message using a BPEL process and no additional functionality. For example, it doesn’t contain any error handling. Therefore, any errors in the payload will result in exceptions being written to the log file or standard output. If you get any errors related to the payload, such as Message handle error ... ORABPEL-09500 ... XPath expression failed to execute. An error occurs while processing the XPath expression; the expression is /ns2:exampleElement. ... etc. check that the variable used in the Java embedding part of the process was entered correctly. Possibly follow the tip mentioned in previous section. If this doesn’t help, you can delete the Java embedding part and simply verify the message via the flow diagram in the Enterprise Manager. Or use a different method, such as writing it to a file via a file adapter. This concludes this example. In the next post, we will begin with an AQ JMS example, which uses JMS to write to an Advanced Queue stored in the database. • Simple Preferred time control using silverlight 3.

    - by mohanbrij
    Here I am going to show you a simple preferred time control, where you can select the day of the week and the time of the day. This can be used in lots of place where you may need to display the users preferred times. Sample screenshot is attached below. This control is developed using Silverlight 3 and VS2008, I am also attaching the source code with this post. This is a very basic example. You can download and customize if further for your requirement if you want. I am trying to explain in few words how this control works and what are the different ways in which you can customize it further. File: PreferredTimeControl.xaml, in this file I have just hardcoded the controls and their positions which you can see in the screenshot above. In this example, to change the start day of the week and time, you will have to go and change the design in XAML file, its not controlled by your properties or implementation classes. You can also customize it to change the start day of the week, Language, Display format, styles, etc, etc. File: PreferredTimeControl.xaml.cs, In this control using the code below, first I am taking all the checkbox from my form and store it in the Global Variable, which I can use across my page. List<CheckBox> checkBoxList; #region Constructor public PreferredTimeControl() { InitializeComponent(); GetCheckboxes();//Keep all the checkbox in List in the Load itself } #endregion #region Helper Methods private List<CheckBox> GetCheckboxes() { //Get all the CheckBoxes in the Form checkBoxList = new List<CheckBox>(); foreach (UIElement element in LayoutRoot.Children) { if (element.GetType().ToString() == "System.Windows.Controls.CheckBox") { checkBoxList.Add(element as CheckBox); } } return checkBoxList; } Then I am exposing the two methods which you can use in the container form to get and set the values in this controls. /// <summary> /// Set the Availability on the Form, with the Provided Timings /// </summary> /// <param name="selectedTimings">Provided timings comes from the DB in the form 11,12,13....37 /// Where 11 refers to Monday Morning, 12 Tuesday Morning, etc /// Here 1, 2, 3 is for Morning, Afternoon and Evening respectively, and for weekdays /// 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 where 1 is for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thrusday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday respectively /// So if we want Monday Morning, we can can denote it as 11, similarly for Saturday Evening we can write 36, etc /// </param> public void SetAvailibility(string selectedTimings) { foreach (CheckBox chk in checkBoxList) { chk.IsChecked = false; } if (!String.IsNullOrEmpty(selectedTimings)) { string[] selectedString = selectedTimings.Split(','); foreach (string selected in selectedString) { foreach (CheckBox chk in checkBoxList) { if (chk.Tag.ToString() == selected) { chk.IsChecked = true; } } } } } /// <summary> /// Gets the Availibility from the selected checkboxes /// </summary> /// <returns>String in the format of 11,12,13...41,42...31,32...37</returns> public string GetAvailibility() { string selectedText = string.Empty; foreach (CheckBox chk in GetCheckboxes()) { if (chk.IsChecked == true) { selectedText = chk.Tag.ToString() + "," + selectedText; } } return selectedText; }   In my example I am using the matrix format for Day and Time, for example Monday=1, Tuesday=2, Wednesday=3, Thursday = 4, Friday = 5, Saturday = 6, Sunday=7. And Morning = 1, Afternoon =2, Evening = 3. So if I want to represent Morning-Monday I will have to represent it as 11, Afternoon-Tuesday as 22, Morning-Wednesday as 13, etc. And in the other way to set the values in the control I am passing the values in the control in the same format as preferredTimeControl.SetAvailibility("11,12,13,16,23,22"); So this will set the checkbox value for Morning-Monday, Morning-Tuesday, Morning-Wednesday, Morning-Saturday, Afternoon of Tuesday and Afternoon of Wednesday. To implement this control, first I have to import this control in xmlns namespace as xmlns:controls="clr-namespace:PreferredTimeControlApp" and finally put in your page wherever you want, <Grid x:Name="LayoutRoot" Style="{StaticResource LayoutRootGridStyle}"> <Border x:Name="ContentBorder" Style="{StaticResource ContentBorderStyle}"> <controls:PreferredTimeControl x:Name="preferredTimeControl"></controls:PreferredTimeControl> </Border> </Grid> And in the code behind you can just include this code: private void InitializeControl() { preferredTimeControl.SetAvailibility("11,12,13,16,23,22"); } And you are ready to go. For more details you can refer to my code attached. I know there can be even simpler and better way to do this. Let me know if any other ideas. Sorry, Guys Still I have used Silverlight 3 and VS2008, as from the system I am uploading this is still not upgraded, but still you can use the same code with Silverlight 4 and VS2010 without any changes. May be just it will ask you to upgrade your project which will take care of rest. Download Source Code.   Thanks ~Brij

  • Dude, where is my list instance?

    - by MOSSLover
    I saw an MSDN Forum post today, so I looked for a ListInstance Hidden property in SharePoint 2007 features.  There is none, but interestingly enough there is one in 2010.  I wondered what would happen if you did this: <Elements xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/">   <ListInstance            FeatureId="00bfea71-de22-43b2-a848-c05709900100"            Title="Hidden List Test"            Description="Testing a hidden list."            TemplateType="100"            Hidden="TRUE"            OnQuickLaunch="FALSE"            Url="Lists/TestHidden" /> </Elements> It hides the entire list from SharePoint Designer and the browser, however you can hit the list by typing in the url in internet explorer.  Pretty cool stuff.  Enjoy guys. • Sort Data in Windows Phone using Collection View Source

    - by psheriff
    When you write a Windows Phone application you will most likely consume data from a web service somewhere. If that service returns data to you in a sort order that you do not want, you have an easy alternative to sort the data without writing any C# or VB code. You use the built-in CollectionViewSource object in XAML to perform the sorting for you. This assumes that you can get the data into a collection that implements the IEnumerable or IList interfaces.For this example, I will be using a simple Product class with two properties, and a list of Product objects using the Generic List class. Try this out by creating a Product class as shown in the following code:public class Product {  public Product(int id, string name)   {    ProductId = id;    ProductName = name;  }  public int ProductId { get; set; }  public string ProductName { get; set; }}Create a collection class that initializes a property called DataCollection with some sample data as shown in the code below:public class Products : List<Product>{  public Products()  {    InitCollection();  }  public List<Product> DataCollection { get; set; }  List<Product> InitCollection()  {    DataCollection = new List<Product>();    DataCollection.Add(new Product(3,        "PDSA .NET Productivity Framework"));    DataCollection.Add(new Product(1,        "Haystack Code Generator for .NET"));    DataCollection.Add(new Product(2,        "Fundamentals of .NET eBook"));    return DataCollection;  }}Notice that the data added to the collection is not in any particular order. Create a Windows Phone page and add two XML namespaces to the Page.xmlns:scm="clr-namespace:System.ComponentModel;assembly=System.Windows"xmlns:local="clr-namespace:WPSortData"The 'local' namespace is an alias to the name of the project that you created (in this case WPSortData). The 'scm' namespace references the System.Windows.dll and is needed for the SortDescription class that you will use for sorting the data. Create a phone:PhoneApplicationPage.Resources section in your Windows Phone page that looks like the following:<phone:PhoneApplicationPage.Resources>  <local:Products x:Key="products" />  <CollectionViewSource x:Key="prodCollection"      Source="{Binding Source={StaticResource products},                       Path=DataCollection}">    <CollectionViewSource.SortDescriptions>      <scm:SortDescription PropertyName="ProductName"                           Direction="Ascending" />    </CollectionViewSource.SortDescriptions>  </CollectionViewSource></phone:PhoneApplicationPage.Resources>The first line of code in the resources section creates an instance of your Products class. The constructor of the Products class calls the InitCollection method which creates three Product objects and adds them to the DataCollection property of the Products class. Once the Products object is instantiated you now add a CollectionViewSource object in XAML using the Products object as the source of the data to this collection. A CollectionViewSource has a SortDescriptions collection that allows you to specify a set of SortDescription objects. Each object can set a PropertyName and a Direction property. As you see in the above code you set the PropertyName equal to the ProductName property of the Product object and tell it to sort in an Ascending direction.All you have to do now is to create a ListBox control and set its ItemsSource property to the CollectionViewSource object. The ListBox displays the data in sorted order by ProductName and you did not have to write any LINQ queries or write other code to sort the data!<ListBox    ItemsSource="{Binding Source={StaticResource prodCollection}}"   DisplayMemberPath="ProductName" />SummaryIn this blog post you learned that you can sort any data without having to change the source code of where the data comes from. Simply feed the data into a CollectionViewSource in XAML and set some sort descriptions in XAML and the rest is done for you! This comes in very handy when you are consuming data from a source where the data is given to you and you do not have control over the sorting.NOTE: You can download this article and many samples like the one shown in this blog entry at my website. http://www.pdsa.com/downloads. • Mapping Repeating Sequence Groups in BizTalk

    - by Paul Petrov
    Repeating sequence groups can often be seen in real life XML documents. It happens when certain sequence of elements repeats in the instance document. Here’s fairly abstract example of schema definition that contains sequence group: <xs:schemaxmlns:b="http://schemas.microsoft.com/BizTalk/2003"            xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"            xmlns="NS-Schema1"            targetNamespace="NS-Schema1" >  <xs:elementname="RepeatingSequenceGroups">     <xs:complexType>       <xs:sequencemaxOccurs="1"minOccurs="0">         <xs:sequencemaxOccurs="unbounded">           <xs:elementname="A"type="xs:string" />           <xs:elementname="B"type="xs:string" />           <xs:elementname="C"type="xs:string"minOccurs="0" />         </xs:sequence>       </xs:sequence>     </xs:complexType>  </xs:element> </xs:schema> And here’s corresponding XML instance document: <ns0:RepeatingSequenceGroupsxmlns:ns0="NS-Schema1">  <A>A1</A>  <B>B1</B>  <C>C1</C>  <A>A2</A>  <B>B2</B>  <A>A3</A>  <B>B3</B>  <C>C3</C> </ns0:RepeatingSequenceGroups> As you can see elements A, B, and C are children of anonymous xs:sequence element which in turn can be repeated N times. Let’s say we need do simple mapping to the schema with similar structure but with different element names: <ns0:Destinationxmlns:ns0="NS-Schema2">  <Alpha>A1</Alpha>  <Beta>B1</Beta>  <Gamma>C1</Gamma>  <Alpha>A2</Alpha>  <Beta>B2</Beta>  <Gamma>C2</Gamma> </ns0:Destination> The basic map for such typical task would look pretty straightforward: If we test this map without any modification it will produce following result: <ns0:Destinationxmlns:ns0="NS-Schema2">  <Alpha>A1</Alpha>  <Alpha>A2</Alpha>  <Alpha>A3</Alpha>  <Beta>B1</Beta>  <Beta>B2</Beta>  <Beta>B3</Beta>  <Gamma>C1</Gamma>  <Gamma>C3</Gamma> </ns0:Destination> The original order of the elements inside sequence is lost and that’s not what we want. Default behavior of the BizTalk 2009 and 2010 Map Editor is to generate compatible map with older versions that did not have ability to preserve sequence order. To enable this feature simply open map file (*.btm) in text/xml editor and find attribute PreserveSequenceOrder of the root <mapsource> element. Set its value to Yes and re-test the map: <ns0:Destinationxmlns:ns0="NS-Schema2">  <Alpha>A1</Alpha>  <Beta>B1</Beta>  <Gamma>C1</Gamma>  <Alpha>A2</Alpha>  <Beta>B2</Beta>  <Alpha>A3</Alpha>  <Beta>B3</Beta>  <Gamma>C3</Gamma> </ns0:Destination> The result is as expected – all corresponding elements are in the same order as in the source document. Under the hood it is achieved by using one common xsl:for-each statement that pulls all elements in original order (rather than using individual for-each statement per element name in default mode) and xsl:if statements to test current element in the loop:  <xsl:templatematch="/s0:RepeatingSequenceGroups">     <ns0:Destination>       <xsl:for-eachselect="A|B|C">         <xsl:iftest="local-name()='A'">           <Alpha>             <xsl:value-ofselect="./text()" />           </Alpha>         </xsl:if>         <xsl:iftest="local-name()='B'">           <Beta>             <xsl:value-ofselect="./text()" />           </Beta>         </xsl:if>         <xsl:iftest="local-name()='C'">           <Gamma>             <xsl:value-ofselect="./text()" />           </Gamma>         </xsl:if>       </xsl:for-each>     </ns0:Destination>  </xsl:template> BizTalk Map editor became smarter so learn and use this lesser known feature of XSLT 2.0 in your maps and XSL stylesheets.
