• C# ...extract email address from inside 100's of text files

  My SMTP server got 100's of errors when sending lots of emails. Now have lots of .BAD files each one containing an error message and somewhere in the middle, the actual email address it was supposed to be sent to. What is the easiest way to extract from each file "just" the "email address", so that I can have a list of the actual failed emails? I can code in C# and any suggestion will be truly welcomed.   Hello there, I have this counter which counts + 1 every time somebody shares content from the site. When it happens, the social icon that was clicked will bounce.   Hi there, I'm back to C/C++ after some break. I've a following problem: I've a solution where I've several projects (compilable and linkable). Now I need to add another project to this solution which depends on some sources from other projects. There is object file created during compilation with those functions in target dir, but my LicenceManager class doesn't want to link. I use some extern "C" , and #pragma pack somewhere, but no more fancy stuff. I think every directory, lib and other necessary dependencies are visible in settings for this project.   On my site, a user gets email notifications when someone comments on their profile, or comments on their blog etc...I have made a email settings page that has checkboxes to allow the user to decide to receive emails or not. • When to use basic types (Integer, String), and when to write a new class?

  Stackoverflow users: A lot of things can be represented in programs by using the basic types, or we can create a new class for it. Example: A social security number can be a number, string or its own object. (Other common examples: Phone numbers, names, zip codes, user id, order id and other id's.) My question is: When should the basic types be used, and when should we write ourselves a new class? I see that when you need to add behavior, you'll want to create a class (example, social security number parsing, validation, formatting, etc). But is this the only criteria? I have come across cases where many of these things are represented as java Integers and/or Strings. We loose the benefit of type-checking, and I have often seen bugs caused by parameters being mixed in calls to function(Intever, Integer, Integer, Integer). On the other hand, some programmers are opposed to over-designing by creating classes for "eveything". Obviously, the answer is "it depends". But, what do you think, and what do you normally do?

• Ignore all folders with a certain name in SVN (subversion), how to?

  I am fairly new to Subversion and was wondering how exactly to ignore all folders by a specific name. From what I have read, I think I need to use the svn:ignore function, but I have no clue on how to actually do this. Some places mention a config file.. some say command prompt. I have my subversion repo set up on a windows 2008 server. I tried to go to command prompt and type svn:ignore name but that didnt work. The tutorial I used to set up my repo (with apache 2.2) had me create an etc folder in c:/. There I have subversion.conf, svn-acl and svn-auth-file. My subversion.conf file includes this: <Location /btp> DAV svn SVNPath C:/Files/Work/Repositories/btp AuthType Basic AuthName "By The Pixel Repo" AuthUserFile c:/etc/svn-auth-file Require valid-user AuthzSVNAccessFile c:/etc/svn-acl </Location> The client I use for my development machines is tortoisesvn.   I have quite simple task to accomplish - I have to set up the security for web services ( basic authentication with hardcoded in WLES user id and password). I set the web.xml (see code fragment below) but I have tough time configuring WebLogic. I added IdentityAssertionAuthenticator Authentication Provider, set it as Required, modified DefaultAuthenticator as Optional and I went to deployed application's security and set the role to "thisIsUser" and at some point it worked, but not anymore (I redeployed war file and set web service security the same way but no avail.) • Generic file container for quick read of data

  Since there are some major privacy issues with alot of social networking sites I am trying to think about alternatives. One is to let the user keep all the information stored in some kind of file container. Now, I haven't found a single type of container that can hold "generic" information. Only for audio/video. What I want is a container that can be read by PHP with some kind of index file that lists up the users pictures in a image/ directory in the container, FOAF files (or some alternative XML-file describing users information and friends, etc.). My thoughts was to let the user keep all their information and data stored in a container that can be imported/exported and deleted from my server (the prototype social networking site I am trying to create), and then uploaded to another site that might use the same format (not that I think that will ever happen, but the user still keeps all their pictures, data, comments, messages, etc). The only thing I have come up with yet is to create a tar archive with the Archive_tar library which extracts and creates Tar-archives with an index-file describing which files are holding the messages (there might be several so each file won't be so large), what pictures are in the image/ folder and what are their names and what comments they have gotten etc. Maybe also the permissions for viewing each type of content. Does there exist any generic file format of a container that I can use to keep all this information in one file with a tree-like index file? Or must i try and create something like this myself?

• Facebook API - Detect if session is active OR NOT active

  I'm sure I'm simply overlooking something in the Facebook API docs. Basically, after I've loaded the FB Graph, I need to know if the session is active... I cannot simply assume they're logged out and simply re-render if they're logged in once the 'auth.statusChange' event is triggered. I need to know right off the bat. Below is the code that I've used. Most importantly the FB.getLoginStatus/getAuthResponse/getAccessToken don't work like I'd expect; essentially where it indicates, when invoked, whether they're logged in or out.
