  • Debug message "Resource interpreted as other but transferred with MIME type application/javascript"

    OK, I understand what the messages means, but I'm really not sure what's causing it. I'm using Safari and the Web Inspector on Mac OS X, by the way. I've got the following in my document head: <script src="http://local.url/a/js/jquery.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="http://local.url/a/js/jquery.inplace.js" type="text/javascript"></script> jquery.js is handled fine, but the other file causes the warning. It also seems that the javascript in this file never gets executed. The file is being served via mod_deflate, so it is gzip encoded, but so is the other file. Has anybody got any ideas what's causing this, or how to resolve it? Cheers all, Gaz.

  • Asyncronus javascript rendering widgets

    Hey all, I'm creating a javascript widget so third partys (web designers) can post a link on their website and it will render the widget on their site. Currently, I'm doing this with just a script link tag: <div class="some_random_div_in_html_body"> <script type='text/javascript' src='http://remotehost.com/link/to/widget.js'></script> </div> However, this has the side-effect of slowing down a thrid party's website render times of the page if my site is under a load. Therefore, I'd like the third party website to request the widget link from my site asyncronously and then render it on their site when the widget link loads completely. The Google Analytics javascript snippet seems to have a nice bit of asyncronous code that does a nice async request to model off of, but I'm wondering if I can modify it so that it will render content on the third party's site.   • Cannot change font size in Tk

    Hello, I'm trying, for the first time, to create a GUI in Ruby using Tk. I've copied a code snippet from one of the numerous web tutorials and try to change the font for one of the labels, but nothing seems to affect how the text is presented. Here's the code: require 'tk' root = TkRoot.new('title'=>'MCIS') defaultFont = TkFont.new("weight"=>'bold', "size"=>20) Lbl = TkLabel.new(root) do text "Boooo" borderwidth 5 font defaultFont foreground "red" relief "groove" grid('column'=>3, 'row'=>0) end Tk.mainloop() I see the effects of all the parameters of the label but not the font. I've tried to change the size, the weight, give different family names, leave just one parameter; nothing works - the font stays default as it was. Surprisingly it doesn't report any errors, everything looks fine. Maybe it's versions problem? I run these: Linux Centos 5 Tk 8.4.13 Ruby 1.8.5 ruby-tcltk 1.8.5 Also, don't know if it is important, I ran it via Xming from WinXP machine.

    I have a Project model and it has some text attributes, one is summary. I have some projects that have html tags in the summary and I want to convert that to plain text. I have this method that has a regex that will remove all html tags. def strip_html_comments_on_data self.attributes.each{|key,value| value.to_s.gsub!(/(<[^>]+>|&nbsp;|\r|\n)/,"")} end I also have a before_save filter before_save :strip_html_comments_on_data The problem is that the html tags are still there after saving the project. SELECT c.name, s.name + '.' + o.name FROM sys.columns c INNER JOIN sys.objects o ON c.object_id=o.object_id INNER JOIN sys.schemas s ON o.schema_id=s.schema_id WHERE c.name LIKE '%text%' If I get it right, they are replication objects. Is it so? Can i just throw them away from my query just like o.name NOT LIKE '%syncobj%' or there's another way? Thank you.

    I have dynamic form which has a set of values. I created a partial which contains text fields which I display. Next to each of them I would like to display a label containing the title of the text. For instance First Name, and Last Name would not be known previously. How do I go about doing that? It seems that I cannot access the attributes directly. But when I use the label field, the variable name in the label is displayed not the actual value.

NOTE: I tried change StaysOpen="false" and when btnShowPopup.MouseDown event: this.popup.IsOpen=!this.popup.IsOpen; But this solution cause another problem: when btnShowPopup.MouseUp event, the Popup is disappear.     To simplify this test case, I created a new default .NET MVC project in Visual Studio 2010, and added the following code to the HTML header in Site.Master: <script type="text/javascript" src="../../Scripts/jquery-1.4.1.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> jQuery(document).ready(function () { alert('jQuery document ready'); }); </script> This works as expected in the .NET development server. However, when deployed to IIS7, the jQuery(document).ready function is not executed. Needless to say, my actual application is much more complicated. This eliminates all "suspects" except IIS7 deployment. Any thoughts/suggestions?

    I have a fb:login-button that is working but the button only displays about 20% of the time I load the page. Have a look here to see what I mean, bearing in mind I have never had to refresh the page more than 20 times before I finally turns up. WHY? AND CAN I DO IT ON FIRST CLICK? yes i know this already happening perfect if i put first code but i want it on my function.

  • Debugging ASP.NET Strings Downloaded to Browser (Montréal instead of Montréal)

    I'm downloading a vCard to the browser using Response.Write to output .NET strings with special accented characters. Mime type is text/x-vcard and French characters are appearing wrong in Outlook, for example Montréal;Québec .NET string shows as Montréal Québec in browser. I'm using this vCard generator code from CodeProject.com I've played with the System.Encoding sample code at the bottom of this linked MSDN page to convert the unicode string into bytes and then write the ascii bytes but then I get Montr?al Qu?bec (progress but not a win). Also I've tried setting content type to both us-ascii and utf-8 of the response. If I open the downloaded vCard in Windows Notepad and save it as ANSI text (instead of default unicode format) and open in Outlook it's okay. So my assumption is I need to cause download of ANSI charset but am unsure if I'm doing it wrong or have a misunderstanding of where to start. Update: Looking at the raw HTTP, it appears my French characters are being downloaded in the unexpected format so it looks like I need to do some work on the server side... (full size)

    Hello, I am running two processes,Process A is opened by Process B using the following example: createProcessHandle = CreateProcess( TEXT("C:\\Users\Jamie\\Documents\\Application\\Debug\\ProcessA.exe"), TEXT(""), NULL, NULL, FALSE, 0, NULL, NULL, &startupinfo, &process_information ); As you can see the Process is reliant on the path given to it, the problem I have is that if I change the location of my ProcessA.exe (Such as a backup/duplicate) it's a tiresome process to keep recoding the path. I want to be able to make it run no matter where it is without having to recode the path manually. Can anybody suggest a solution to this?

  • Are there alternatives to UltraWinGrid (for C#)?

    I've been using the Infragistics UltraWinGrid for a while in a C# project, and while it's very spiffy, it is sometimes a bit heavy to run (and editing it in Visual Studio can be hazardous). I'm looking for a lighter alternative. Looks (always a big plus with Infragistics) are not as important as functionality. Namely, I'm looking for a beefed up DataGridView which: has data binding (duh!) has lock control over editing allows for sub-tables on opening a row can have multiple headers to group columns together (say header 1 is composed of "Group A" and "Group B", and header 2 has various columns under each group) has sorting by column (and can sort numbers properly, even if it does not have a stock method at first) has filtering by column (perhaps the most demanding spec) à la UltraWinGrid/Excel (text field with a way to specify if the filter is equal, not equal, greater, lesser, starts with, ends with, etc). supports check box, text box or data bound list/combo box cells allows cells to be merged (not the control cells of course!) can have events bound to each row (say double click)

  • Groupted table view cells not loading.

    Hi, I'm working on creating a grouped table view. The data is being loaded alright, but in the grouped view there are a lot of white empty spaces. They get populated after I scroll up and down a few times. Help? I have gone through many queries and answers related to that and finally added the code for that as below. When the code tries to execute sending some text message to the particular mobile number, it doesn't send and throws exception as "blocking operation not permitted on event dispatch thread". So i created a separate background thread where i put the SMS code and running the code now. But still observing the same exception.   • UltraWebGrid: How to use a drop-down list in a column

    I'm using the Infragistics grid and I'm having a difficult time using a drop-down list as the value selector for one of my columns. I tried reading the documentation but Infragistics' documentation is not so good. I've also taken a look at this discussion with no luck. What I'm doing so far: col.Type = ColumnType.DropDownList; col.DataType = "System.String"; col.ValueList = myValueList; where myValueList is: ValueList myValueList = new ValueList(); myValueList.Prompt = "My text prompt"; myValueList.DisplayStyle = ValueListDisplayStyle.DisplayText; foreach(MyObjectType item in MyObjectTypeCollection) { myValueList.ValueItems.Add(item.ID, item.Text); // Note that the ID is a string (not my design) } When I look at the page, I expect to see a drop-down list in the cells for this column, but my columns are empty.

  • ITextSharp HTML to PDF?

    I posted a question here a few weeks ago asking about an alternative to creating .fdf files to fill in pdf documents and someone here pointed me to ITextSharp. It's working like a champ so thanks for that. I'd now like to know if ITextSharp has the capability of converting HTML to PDF. Everything I will convert will just be plain text but unfortunately there is very little to no documentation on ITextSharp so I can't determine if that will be a viable solution for me. If it can't do it, can someone point me to some good, free .net libraries that can take a simple plain text HTML document and convert it to a pdf? tia.
