  • Become UIScrollViewDelegate delegate for UITableView

    I have a UITableView instance variable. I want to be able to register my view controller to be the UIScrollViewDelegate for my UITableView controller. I have already tried tableView.delegate = self; But when scrolling, my methods - (void)scrollViewDidEndDecelerating:(UIScrollView *)scrollView - (void)scrollViewDidEndDragging:(UIScrollView *)scrollView willDecelerate:(BOOL)decelerate don't get called. Any suggestions?

  • What's the proper way to setup different objects as delegates using Interface Builder?

    Let's say I create a new project. I now add two text fields to the view controller in Interface Builder. I want to respond to delegate events that the text fields create, however, I don't want to have the main view controller to act as the delegate for both text fields. Ideally I want a separate file for each text field that acts as the delegate. Each of these objects also needs to be able to interact with the main view controller. My question is how I would set this up and link everything correctly? I tried creating a new class that inherits from NSObject and implements UITextFieldDelegate. I then added an instance variable called "viewController" of the same type of my view controller and marked it with IBOutlet (this required me to add #import "myViewcontroller.h"). I then went to Interface Builder and opened up my view controller which contains the two edit boxes. I added an NSObject to the form and changed it's type to be of the new class I created. I set its viewController property to the File's Owner, and set one of the textbox's delegate properties to point to this new object I created. Now when I run the program, it crashes when I touch the text box. It gives the error EXC_BAD_ACCESS. I'm guessing I didn't link stuff correctly in IB. Some things I'm not sure about which might be the problem: Does IB automatically know to create an instance of the class just by placing the NSObject in the ViewController? Can it properly assign the viewController property to an instance of itself even though it is creating itself at the same time?

  • How to dispose NHibernate ISession in an ASP.NET MVC App

    I have NHibernate hooked up in my asp.net mvc app. Everything works fine, if I DON'T dispose the ISession. I have read however that you should dispose, but when I do, I get random "Session is closed" exceptions. I am injecting the ISession into my other objects with Windsor. Here is my current NHModule: public class NHibernateHttpModule : IHttpModule { public void Init(HttpApplication context) { context.BeginRequest += context_BeginRequest; context.EndRequest += context_EndRequest; } static void context_EndRequest(object sender, EventArgs e) { CurrentSessionContext.Unbind(MvcApplication.SessionFactory); } static void context_BeginRequest(object sender, EventArgs e) { CurrentSessionContext.Bind(MvcApplication.SessionFactory.OpenSession()); } public void Dispose() { // do nothing } } Registering the ISession: container .Register(Component.For<ISession>() .UsingFactoryMethod(() => MvcApplication.SessionFactory.GetCurrentSession()).LifeStyle.Transient); The error happens when I tack the Dispose on the unbind in the module. Since I keep getting the session is closed error I assume this is not the correct way to do this, so what is the correct way? Thanks, Joe

  • Custom UITableViewCell with 2 UILabel's resized

    I'm struggling to create a custom UITableViewCell (in IB) that has a UIImageView on the left, fixed to the top left corner, then 2 UILabel's adjacent to it, side by side. So the cell looks something like: +---------------------------+ | IMAGE LABEL1 LABEL2 > | +---------------------------+ What I cannot seem to do is to change the frame of LABEL1 so it fits the text is contains, then make sure LABEL2 moves to the left (or right) so it ends up directly adjacent to it, filling all the space for the rest of the cell. So, concentrating on the label text, I'd like cell to look like this: +---------------------------+ | IMAGE Call 123456 > | +---------------------------+ after I've set LABEL1 to "Call" and LABEL2 to "123456" in: - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath Actually I can resize LABEL1 with this: CGSize sizeToMakeLabel = [label.text sizeWithFont:label.font]; label.frame = CGRectMake(label.frame.origin.x, label.frame.origin.y, sizeToMakeLabel.width + 3, sizeToMakeLabel.height); Now the frame for the text "Call" fits this text (confirmed by setting a background color), but the text "123456" doesn't seem to shift to the left, whatever autosizing I set in IB, or methods to resize the cells view? I seem to need the +3 to make sure "Call" didn't look like this "C…" also? I'm using 2 labels so LABEL1 can be in a bold font say.

  • Drawing selected state on custom UITableViewCell

    So I have a customer UITableViewCell whose whole display in drawn in drawRect. When it draws it creates CGLayers so that it can reuse certain pieces when something is changed. I have changed my UITableViewCellSelectionStyle to None because I don't want the default selected view to cover my drawing. So I call setNeedsDisplay in setSelected:animated: for my cell. But by the time drawRect is called, setSelected:animated: has already been called again to deselect the cell. In my table view controller in didSelectRowAtIndexPath I call deselectRowAtIndexPath as Apple advises. Any ideas? Thanks.

  • Why the CCLayer can't use a for loop in draw method??

    I have a CClayer, that have a draw method, every second, it will call the draw method 60 times. So, I have method like this: -(void)draw{ glEnable(GL_LINE_SMOOTH); glColor4f(0.0f, 1.0f, 0.0f, 1.0f); glLineWidth(5.0f); ccDrawLine(ccp(300,20), CGPointZero); } I work great. but after I added a for looop, for example....: -(void)draw{ glEnable(GL_LINE_SMOOTH); glColor4f(0.0f, 1.0f, 0.0f, 1.0f); glLineWidth(5.0f); ccDrawLine(ccp(300,20), CGPointZero); for(int i=0; i<5; i++){ NSLog(@"Testing the loop, %i", i); } } It can't draw anything, the screen only black. But I can see the Testing the loop is keep calling.... Why? thank you.

    I have a UIScrollView that is displaying a list of data. Right now, when the user adds one more item to the list, I can extend the content size of the UIScrollView and scroll down smoothly using setContentOffset and YES to animated. When the user removes an item from the list, I want to resize the content size of the UIScrollView, and scroll back up one step also in an animated fashion. How can I get the ordering right? Right now, if I resize the content size before scrolling back up, the scroll isn't animated. I tried scrolling back up before resizing the content size, but that still didn't give a smooth transition. Is there a way to finish the scrolling animation BEFORE resizing the content size? Thanks

    I'm trying to hide the iPad keyboard from a modal view controller but it doesn't work. I have tried resignFirstResponder but that doesn't have any affect if we are in a modal view controller. I tried resignFirstResponder in a non-modal UINavigationController with the very same UIViewController and the keyboard hides correctly. Does anyone know how solve this problem? Thanks. [Update] it looks like there's something wrong with my code because the resignFirstResponder does work (I made a simple test case instead of using my code). But I still don't know what the problem is.

  • WPF: Changing config file user settings at runtime?

    Hey I'm trying to change some config file user settings values in my WPF application, but its only working partly. The value is changed correctly and the program runs fine with the value. I can even restart the program and the value is still the one i changed it to. The problem is that when i open the .exe.config file the value is still the old value. Im using this code to change the value: Properties.Settings.Default.ProjectNumber = varTestExample; Properties.Settings.Default.Save(); Where does this save code save the changes and how/where does the program read the value after i have run this code? If i run a clean version of the program the ProjectNumber value is correctly taken from the .exe.config file and if i change the value in the config file it is also change when i run the program. But as soon as i run the above code the program is not reading the value from the config file. Why?

  • audioPlayerDidFinishPlaying not being called during scrolling UITableView

    One of my views is a UITableView which acts as the delegate for an AVAudioPlayer and this table essentially plays sounds when you select a certain row with options to repeat the sound after its finished playing. However, I noticed that if I select a cell with repeat ON for a certain sound and then scroll through the UITableView to select a different sound, it will not call audioPlayerDidFinishPlaying (and therefore not repeat) until after scrolling has stopped. As soon as I stop scrolling, it repeats just fine. Or if I don't scroll at all, it repeats just fine. What could be happening during scrolling that the UITableView is no longer acting as the delegate and calling audioPlayerDidFinishPlaying? Any thoughts?

    I have a subtitle text file that works with standart srt format 00:00:00,000 Hour, minutes, seconds, milliseconds. I want to create a timer to update the subtitle screen and check the current time to know what subtitle show on screen. Which is the best to use? NSTimeInterval, NSDate? I think the best is to convert all to times to milliseconds number and compare. But NSTimeInterval works with seconds, not milliseconds. Some clue? Marcos

  • I get EXC_BAD_ACCESS when MaxConcurrentOperationCount > 1

    Hello i am using NSOperationQueue to download images in the background. I have created a custom NSOperation to download the images. I put the images in table cells. The problem is if I do [operationQueue setMaxConcurrentOperationCount: 10] and i scroll down several cells the program crashes with EXC_BAD_ACCESS. Every time it crashes at the same place in the table. There are 3 cells one after the other which are for the same company and have the same logo so basically it should download the images 3 times.     I am working on an application that requires user authentication to access a profile. The profile section is located solely under one tab (and all others tabs do not require authentication). I currently present a authentication view controller modally (and then dismiss on success) when the user selects the profile tab. However, this approach prevents the user from deciding not to register / login (that is, all tabs are hidden once the authentication screen is presented modally). I don't want the user to be able to dismiss the modal view controller, but rather have it modal only for the profile tab. Is this possible? Can I have tabs visible while having a modal view controller? What is the best approach here. Thanks.

Although, again, the NSLog had the value in it correctly? So i searched the forum and found a simular problem. I took their advice and added "RETAIN" to the "theID" value like so: theID = [customObjInstance TID]; [theID retain]; However, that did not solve the issue...     Is it possible to use the App_Data folder in conjunction with SQL Server 2005? When I try it specifies Express even though I have changed the ToolsOptionsDatabaseData Connections to the correct server. I have downloaded SQLEXPR32_x86_ENU.exe Version 10.0.1600.22 file locally and have gone through 7 installs and deinstalls with a variety of different errors. By default, a reusable cell's identifier is its class name, but you can change it to any arbitrary value. Ok so if by default it's the class name, why should I put much brain force into thinking about an identifier? Could I provide just nil? Would it then use the class name? Or what did they try to say here? Must I make an NSString with the class name by myself and provide it as identifier?

I would like to create my own custom buttons and link those to the same actions (e.g. back) as the navigation items were linked to and have no bar presented at the top. I was told that one should use navigation bar even though graphically you should design the interaction yourself. How do I go about doing this? I am quite new to navigation bar to start with...
