  • How can I get jcifs to play nicely with apache axis

    - by Ben Hammond
I need to connect Apache Axis 1.4 to a Webservice that uses NTLM authentication to restrict access to its operations. I'm expecting to use Samba Jcifs to handle the NTLM handshake. I found http://hc.apache.org/httpcomponents-client/ntlm.html which gives me fantastic directions for how to wire up HttpClient 4.0 with jcifs. Trouble is, Axis wants to use Http Client 3.0 and the two apis look very different. There are 2 possibilities that I can see Write an object for Axis that lets it plug into HttpClient 4. Figure out how to wire HttpClient 3.0 up with Samba Jcifs. Number 1. looks non-trivial, but possible Number 2. I cannot find any encouraging messages on the web describing how to do this. My question is: has anyone successfully connected samba jcifs with HttpClient 3.0 ? Has anyone already created an Axis HttpSender object that works with HttpClient 4 ? Is there some better alternative that I have not considered?

  • using a Singleton to pass credentials in a multi-tenant application a code smell?

    - by Hans Gruber
Currently working on a multi-tenant application that employs Shared DB/Shared Schema approach. IOW, we enforce tenant data segregation by defining a TenantID column on all tables. By convention, all SQL reads/writes must include a Where TenantID = '?' clause. Not an ideal solution, but hindsight is 20/20. Anyway, since virtually every page/workflow in our app must display tenant specific data, I made the (poor) decision at the project's outset to employ a Singleton to encapsulate the current user credentials (i.e. TenantID and UserID). My thinking at the time was that I didn't want to add a TenantID parameter to each and every method signature in my Data layer. Here's what the basic pseudo-code looks like: public class UserIdentity { public UserIdentity(int tenantID, int userID) { TenantID = tenantID; UserID = userID; } public int TenantID { get; private set; } public int UserID { get; private set; } } public class AuthenticationModule : IHttpModule { public void Init(HttpApplication context) { context.AuthenticateRequest += new EventHandler(context_AuthenticateRequest); } private void context_AuthenticateRequest(object sender, EventArgs e) { var userIdentity = _authenticationService.AuthenticateUser(sender); if (userIdentity == null) { //authentication failed, so redirect to login page, etc } else { //put the userIdentity into the HttpContext object so that //its only valid for the lifetime of a single request HttpContext.Current.Items["UserIdentity"] = userIdentity; } } } public static class CurrentUser { public static UserIdentity Instance { get { return HttpContext.Current.Items["UserIdentity"]; } } } public class WidgetRepository: IWidgetRepository{ public IEnumerable<Widget> ListWidgets(){ var tenantId = CurrentUser.Instance.TenantID; //call sproc with tenantId parameter } } As you can see, there are several code smells here. This is a singleton, so it's already not unit test friendly. On top of that you have a very tight-coupling between CurrentUser and the HttpContext object. By extension, this also means that I have a reference to System.Web in my Data layer (shudder). I want to pay down some technical debt this sprint by getting rid of this singleton for the reasons mentioned above. I have a few thoughts on what an better implementation might be, but if anyone has any guidance or lessons learned they could share, I would be much obliged.

  • Issues reading CSV file using OLEDB when filenamen have period

    - by Rodel Dagumampan
Issues reading CSV file using OLEDB when filenamen have period. I have a code in C# that reads CSV File using OleDBProvider. It works perfect with filenames in regular format such as Budget.csv but failed when i renamed the file into Budget.DKK.csv or Budget.USD.csv I throws this exception: he Microsoft Jet database engine could not find the object 'Budget.DKK.csv'. Make sure the object exists and that you spell its name and the path name correctly. I have no idea so far why is this happenning.

  • Is there a reason why a base class decorated with XmlInclude would still throw a type unknown exception when serialized?

    - by Tedford
I will simplify the code to save space but what is presented does illustrate the core problem. I have a class which has a property that is a base type. There exist 3 dervived classes which could be assigned to that property. If I assign any of the derived classes to the container then the XmlSerializer throws dreaded "The type xxx was not expected. Use the XmlInclude or SoapInclude attribute to specify types that are not known statically." exception when attempting to seralize the container. However my base class is already decorated with that attribute so I figure there must be an additional "hidden" requirement. The really odd part is that the default WCF serializer has no issues with this class hierarchy. The Container class [DataContract] [XmlRoot(ElementName = "TRANSACTION", Namespace = Constants.Namespace)] public class PaymentSummaryRequest : CommandRequest { /// <summary> /// Gets or sets the summary. /// </summary> /// <value>The summary.</value> /// <remarks></remarks> [DataMember] public PaymentSummary Summary { get; set; } /// <summary> /// Initializes a new instance of the <see cref="PaymentSummaryRequest"/> class. /// </summary> public PaymentSummaryRequest() { Mechanism = CommandMechanism.PaymentSummary; } } The base class [DataContract] [XmlInclude(typeof(xxxPaymentSummary))] [XmlInclude(typeof(yyyPaymentSummary))] [XmlInclude(typeof(zzzPaymentSummary))] [KnownType(typeof(xxxPaymentSummary))] [KnownType(typeof(xxxPaymentSummary))] [KnownType(typeof(zzzPaymentSummary))] public abstract class PaymentSummary { } One of the derived classes [DataContract] public class xxxPaymentSummary : PaymentSummary { } The serialization code var serializer = new XmlSerializer(typeof(PaymentSummaryRequest)); serializer.Serialize(Console.Out,new PaymentSummaryRequest{Summary = new xxxPaymentSummary{}}); The Exception System.InvalidOperationException: There was an error generating the XML document. --- System.InvalidOperationException: The type xxxPaymentSummary was not expected. • Getting a linq table to be dynamically sent to a method

    - by Damian Spaulding
I have a procedure: var Edit = (from R in Linq.Products where R.ID == RecordID select R).Single(); That I would like to make "Linq.Products" Dynamic. Something like: protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { something(Linq.Products); } public void something(Object MyObject) { System.Data.Linq.Table<Product> Dynamic = (System.Data.Linq.Table<Product>)MyObject; var Edit = (from R in Dynamic where R.ID == RecordID select R).Single(); My problem is that I my "something" method will not be able to know what table has been sent to it. so the static line: System.Data.Linq.Table Dynamic = (System.Data.Linq.Table)MyObject; Would have to reflect somthing like: System.Data.Linq.Table Dynamic = (System.Data.Linq.Table)MyObject; With being a dynamic catch all variable so that Linq can just execute the code just like I hand coded it statically. I have been pulling my hair out with this one. Please help.

  • vb.net how to start a folder monitor service at runtime and pass on the folder path to monitor?

    - by mazrabul
hi, I have the following windows service file: Imports System.ServiceProcess Imports System.IO Public Class fswService Dim fsw As FileSystemWatcher Dim lf As StreamWriter Protected Overrides Sub OnStart(ByVal args As String()) ' Add code here to start your service. This method should set things ' in motion so your service can do its work. lf = New StreamWriter(Application.StartupPath & "\fsw_lg.log") fsw = New FileSystemWatcher() fsw.Path = args(0) fsw.IncludeSubdirectories = True fsw.Filter = ".txt" fsw.EnableRaisingEvents = True AddHandler fsw.Created, New FileSystemEventHandler(AddressOf file_created) AddHandler fsw.Changed, New FileSystemEventHandler(AddressOf file_changed) AddHandler fsw.Deleted, New FileSystemEventHandler(AddressOf file_deleted) End Sub Public Sub file_created(ByVal obj As Object, ByVal e As FileSystemEventArgs) lf.WriteLine(Now.ToShortDateString & "-" & Now.ToShortTimeString & "-" & e.FullPath & "-created") End Sub Public Sub file_changed(ByVal obj As Object, ByVal e As FileSystemEventArgs) lf.WriteLine(Now.ToShortDateString & "-" & Now.ToShortTimeString & "-" & e.FullPath & "-changed") End Sub Public Sub file_deleted(ByVal obj As Object, ByVal e As FileSystemEventArgs) lf.WriteLine(Now.ToShortDateString & "-" & Now.ToShortTimeString & "-" & e.FullPath & "-deleted") End Sub Protected Overrides Sub OnStop() lf.Close() End Sub End Class i have the ServiceName set to fswService (same as class name). When I added an installer I also set the ServiceName for the ServiceInstaller1 as fswService. I want to start this service at runtime based on the user setting the path of the folder to be watched. To achieve this I have the following: Dim fsw_controller As New ServiceProcess.ServiceController fsw_controller.Start(fswService) 2 problems: first, intellisense error saying: 'fswService' is a type and cannot be used as an expression. second, I can not figure out a way to pass on to the service the path of the folder to watch (which is stored at My.Settings.userPath). I really thought this is how you start a service. Am I missing something? Your help is, as always, appreciated. Thanks

  • Sorting Objects in NSArray

I have an NSArray with 3 objects in it. Each object is made up of 5 values. How can I sort by Date with in the objects? result: ( gg, "2012-10-28 01:34:00 +0000", "Church Bells", "pin_red", 1 )( iu, "2008-09-22 17:32:00 +0000", "Birthday Song", "pin_red", 1 )( "my birthday woo hoo", "2012-09-04 19:27:00 +0000", "Birthday Song", "pin_blue", 1 ) The results I am looking for - Sorted Array should look like this. • jQuery .getJSON() Not Parsing All Objects

    - by Brad
I'm using jQuery's .getJSON function to parse a set of search results from a Google Search Appliance. The search appliance has an xslt stylesheet that returns the results as JSON data, which I validated with both JSONLint and Curious Concept's JSON Formatter. According to FireBug, the full result set is returned from the XMLHTTPRequest, but I tried dumping the data (with jquery.dump.js) and it only ever parses back the first result. It does successfully get all the Google Search Protocol stuff, but it only ever sees one "R" object (or individual result). Has anybody had a similar problem with jQuery's .getJSON? I know it likes to fail silently if the JSON is not valid, but like I said, I validated the results with several validators and it should be good to go. Edit: Clicking this link will show you the JSON results returned for a search for the word "google": http://bigbird.uww.edu/search?client=json_frontend&proxystylesheet=json_frontend&proxyrefresh=1&output=xml_no_dtd&q=google jQuery only retrieves the first "R" object, even though all "R" objects are siblings.

  • iPhone - Launching selectors from a different class

    - by David Schiefer
Hi, I'd like to reload a table view which is in another class called "WriteIt_MobileAppDelegate" from one of my other classes which is called "Properties". I've tried to do this via the NSNotificationCenter class - the log gets called but the table is never updated. Properties.h: [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] postNotificationName:@"NameChanged" object:[WriteIt_MobileAppDelegate class] userInfo:nil]; WriteIt_MobileAppDelegate.m -(void)awakeFromNib { [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] addObserver:self selector:@selector(reloadItProperties:) name:@"NameChanged" object:self]; } - (void) reloadItProperties: (NSNotification *)notification { NSLog(@"Reloading Data"); //this gets called [self.navigationController popToRootViewControllerAnimated:YES]; [self.tblSimpleTable reloadData]; [self.tblSimpleTable reloadSectionIndexTitles]; // but the rest doesn't } What am I doing wrong here?

  • How do I change the URL Alias for Security/login in SilverStripe to user/login

    - by pthurmond
I am working on a new website being built in SilverStripe. Currently I am having a ton of trouble trying to get the system to let me change the URL alias (or create a second one) for the Security controller's login (and eventually logout) function. I have tried playing around with the routes.yml file and I tried creating the paths in my own UserController and loading directly from the Security controller with "return Security::login()". But that gives me errors about the use of the static functions. Unfortunately I don't come from a ton of object oriented experience and this is the first CMS I have used that actually uses a bunch of true object orientation. The current version of SilverStripe we are using is 3.0 (but we will be upgrading to 3.1.1 in a few days). Does anyone know much about the routing in SilverStripe?

  • ea: import requirements from csv file

During import requirements from csv file I have a message: Bad object type when creating new record of type '' File I was trying to import: GUID$Name$Notes$Scope {BF467CF6-FF97-4dd4-894C-3F09E713678C}$NameOfReq$description$Public {71B26F9A-5418-499e-B635-F2DB158D3FF1}$Requirement1$$Public {0}$Requir1$blah$Public First 2 (+header) lines becomes from existing requirements and there is no problem with import. Last line should create a new object of requirement in enterprise architect, but there is a message mentioned above. Any solution? How should proper file to create (import from csv file) a new requirements look like?

  • What are real-world examples of Gradle's dependency graph?

    - by Michael Easter
As noted in the documentation, Gradle uses a directed acyclic graph (DAG) to build a dependency graph. From my understanding, having separate cycles for evaluation and execution is a major feature for a build tool. e.g. The Gradle doc states that this enables some features that would otherwise be impossible. I'm interested in real-world examples that illustrate the power of this feature. What are some use-cases for which a dependency graph is important? I'm especially interested in personal stories from the field, whether with Gradle or a similarly equipped tool. I am making this 'community wiki' from the outset, as it will be difficult to assess a 'correct' answer.

  • 2 Classes need each other declared C++

    - by Prodigga
I have a "Game" class which holds all the games settings and manages the game. I have a "Grid" class which is the grid the game is played on. The "Game" class initializes a "Grid" object as one of its members (passing itself ("this") as one of the parameters for "Grid"s constructor).. The "Grid" object therefor needs to deal with a "Game*" pointer. To do this it needs to know what "Game" is; i need to declare it before "Grid". But "Game" uses "Grid"...so it also needs "Grid" declared before it. so confused on how to include headers/etc correctly here..

  • WCF DataContract GetCustomDataToExport

    - by JeffN825
I'm trying to get the default behavior for a client referencing my WCF WSDL to set IsReference to true on the imported DataContracts. It looks like I should be able to use an IDataContractSurrogate with GetCustomDataToExport to accomplish this...which specifcally means adding the following to the generated ComplexType in the xsd associated with the WSDL: <xs:attribute ref="ser:Id" /> <xs:attribute ref="ser:Ref" /> There is, of course no usable documentation I can find from MS about how to use this method. The MSDN page says it should return an object...but does not indicate at all what type of object this should be....how useless... Before I go reflector'ing for this, does anyone out there know how to use this method? Thanks.

  • The shortest way to convert infix expressions to postfix (RPN) in C

    - by kuszi
Original formulation is given here (you can try also your program for correctness) . Additional rules: 1. The program should read from standard input and write do standard output. 2. The program should return zero to the calling system/program. 3. The program should compile and run with gcc -O2 -lm -s -fomit-frame-pointer. The challenge has some history: the call for short implementations has been announced at the Polish programming contest blog in September 2009. After the contest, the shortest code was 81 chars long. Later on the second call has been made for even shorter code and after the year matix2267 published his solution in 78 bytes: main(c){read(0,&c,1)?c-41&&main(c-40&&(c%96<27||main(c),putchar(c))):exit(0);} Anyone to make it even shorter or prove this is impossible?

  • Links to ASP.NET application in MS Word document

    - by Borat
I am observing a weird behavior when clicking links to my ASP.NET application in MS Word 2003 / 2007 document. I have IE8 installed. When I click a link in the document the request that is sent has the user-agent IE7(!?). A new session object is created. Right after that out of nowhere a second request appears this time having user-agent IE8. More over, when I click anything on the requested page, a new session object is once again created, so I cannot rely on anything that has been persisted in the session. Why is it like that?

  • Why does this VBS scheduled task (to call a URL) not work in Windows Server 2008?

    - by user303644
This same script worked in older server OS environments, and even on my desktop; and allows me to kick off a nightly process on my website's URL. It simply will not execute the URL in my Windows Server 2008 environment. It does not generate any errors, claiming task completion I can pull the same URL up just fine in the server's web browser I have the script running with "highest privileges" I even tried to create a batch file which executes it, so I can explicitly "Run as Administrator" and it still will not execute the URL (but will not generate any errors either). I'm baffled as to why the task claims to have completed successfully, yet the script never reaches the URL. Call LogEntry() Sub LogEntry() 'Force the script to finish on an error. On Error Resume Next 'Declare variables Dim objRequest Dim URL Set objRequest = CreateObject("MSXML2.ServerXMLHTTP") 'Put together the URL link appending the Variables. URL = "http://myURL/AutorunNightlyTasks.aspx" 'Open the HTTP request and pass the URL to the objRequest object objRequest.open "GET", URL, False 'Send the HTML Request objRequest.send() 'Set the object to nothing Set objRequest = Nothing End Sub

  • Define the base class or base functionality of a dynamic proxy (e.g. Castle, LinFu)

    - by Graham
Hi, I've asked this in the NHibernate forumns but I think this is more of a general question. NHibernate uses proxy generators (e.g. Castle) to create its proxy. What I'd like to do is to extend the proxy generated so that it implements some of my own custom behaviour (i.e. a comparer). I need this because the following standard .NET behaviour fails to produce the correct results: //object AC is a concrete class collection.Contains(AC) = true //object AP is a proxy with the SAME id and therefore represents the same instance as concrete AC collection.Contains(AP) = false If my comparer was implemented by AP (i.e. do id's match) then collection.Contains(AP) would return true, as I'd expect if proxies were implicit. (NB: For those who say NH inherits from your base class, then yes it does, but NH can also inherit from an interface - which is what we're doing) I'm not at all sure this is possible or where to start. Is this something that can be done in any of the common proxy generators that NH uses?

  • How do I extend a WPF application using an addin-like architeture?

    - by Thiado de Arruda
Lets say I have a WPF application that shows a ListBox with an ArrayList -populated with objects of arbitrary types- as a source, and this application is hosted in an assembly 'A'. By default the ListBox will display the custom object 'ToString' method return value. If a data template for that object type is found, the ListBox will use it for rendering. Imagine that theres another assembly 'B' that references of 'A' and seeks to extend it by providing custom data templates for certain types, to be used in that ListBox. Is there some way to do that without 'A'being aware of B?

  • Core Data produces Analyzer warnings

    - by RickiG
Hi I am doing the final touch ups on an app and I am getting rid of every compiler/analyzer warning. I have a bunch of Class methods that wrap my apps access to Core Data entities. This is "provoking" the analyzer. + (CDProductEntity*) newProductEntity { return (CDProductEntity*)[NSEntityDescription insertNewObjectForEntityForName:@"CDProductEntity" inManagedObjectContext:[self context]]; } Which results in an Analyzer warning: Object with +0 retain counts returned to caller where a +1 (owning) retain count is expected In the method that calls the above Class Method I have this: CDProductEntity *newEntity = [self newProductEntity]; Which results in an Analyzer warning: Method returns an Objective-C object with a +1 retain count (owning reference) Explicitly releasing or autoreleasing a Core Data entity is usually very very bad, but is that what it is asking me to do here? First it tells me it has a +0 retain count and that is bad, then it tells me it has a +1 which is also bad. What can I do to ensure that I am either dealing with a Analyzer hiccup or that I release correctly? Thanks in advance

  • C# dependency injection - how to you inject a dependency without source?

    - by Phil Harris
Hi, I am trying to get started with some simple dependency injection using C# and i've run up against an issue that I can't seem to come up with an answer for. I have a class that was written by another department for which I don't have the source in my project. I wanted to inject an object of this type though a constructor using an interface, but of course, i can't change the injected objects implementation to implement the interface to achieve polymorphism when casting the object to the interface type. Every academic example I have ever seen of this technique has the classes uses classes which are declared in the project itself. How would I go about injecting my dependency without the source being available in the project? I hope that makes sense, thanks.
