    If you look at the top right you'll see on a radar an enemy unit line of sight. I was wondering what is the most efficient or easiest way (little code, fairly accurate. doesnt need to be perfect) to detect if something is in your line of sight? I may or may not need to render it (i likely wont). I dont know the formula nor used any math libs/namespaces in C#

  • How do I find everything between two characters after a word using grep, without outputting the entire line?

    I am downlading the info.0.json file from xkcd and trying to parse just the alt text. I don't care if there are quotes around it or not. The problem it that the info.0.json file is all one line, and the alt text is in quotes after the word "alt=". Trying cat info.0.json | grep alt just returns the whole file (because it's all one line). What is the grep or sed code that will get me the alt text?

As well, there is that set of data over 38 years (from 1970-2008) and I am attempting to use this data set to create a multiple line plot on R. I have tried for hours on end but can not seem to get R to recognize the variables within the data set.

  • nginx: problem configuring a proxy_pass

    I'm converting a web app from apache to nginx. In apache's httpd.conf I have: ProxyPass /proxy/ http:// ProxyPassReverse /proxy/ http:// The idea is the client send this url: http://web-server-domain/proxy/login-server-addr/loginUrl.php?user=xxx&pass=yyy and the web server calls: http://login-server-addr/loginUrl.php?user=xxx&pass=yyy My nginx.conf is attached below and it is not working. At the moment it looks like it is calling the server, but returning an application error. This seems promising but any attempt to debug this failed! I can't trace any of the calls as nginx refuses to place them in the error file. Also, placing echo statement on the login server did not help either which is weird. The nginx documentation isn't very helpful about this. Any suggestion on how to configure a proxy_pass?   • Is there a command line two-factor authentication verification code generator?

    I manage a server with two-factor authentication. I have to use the Google Authenticator iPhone app to get the 6-digit verification code to enter after entering the normal server password. The setup is described here: http://www.mnxsolutions.com/security/two-factor-ssh-with-google-authenticator.html I would like a way to get the verification code using just my laptop and not from my iphone. There must be a way to seed a command line app that generates these verification codes and gives you the code for the current 30-second window. Is there a program that can do this?

    Are there any shortcuts to delete just one row (which is NOT a table row, just a single row in a text) in Microsoft Office Word 2010? If not, how can I assign one to do it? In worst case, can I make a macro (in VB) which could do the same with a custom shortcut? To clarify my problem: I would like to avoid multiple clicks and/or pushing multiple buttons, even if I click in the middle of the line of text. :) For example, in Notepad++ I can delete the entire current line with Ctrl+L, in NetBeans, I can delete an entire line with Ctrl+E, in Eclipse, I can delete current line with Ctrl+D, etc., where it doesn't really matter where my mouse cursor is actually... so there are these simple solutions, which I look for in Word too. It really would simplify my work in huge documents.

I know how to do this with Swing: component.setToolTipText("<html>Line 1<br>Line2</html>"); But this doesn't work with AWT. Also serarating lines by \n doesn't work.   • input / output error, drives randomly refusing to read / write

    I have an issue with one of our servers running Ubuntu 10.04, it is running BackupPC and collects backups from various machines / servers around the building. On the 8th minute (12:08, 12:18, 12:28 etc) the backups are transferred to an external hard drive, we have three and rotate one drive for another everyday. The problem we are having is we are randomly experiencing input / output errors, when this happens you cannot read / write to the drive, it hasn't unmounted so I can cd to the mount point /media/backup1. You see we have three drives all formatted to ext2, on two of them we were getting I/O errors frequently, I cam back to Quamis' answer and discovered the fsck command, so ran it against the problems drives: fsck /dev/sdb1 This found and fixed a load of problems on the drive, most probably caused by power outages / unsafe removal of drives etc, as the drives are in the xt2 format they aren't journalled and thus aren't protected against such issues. Drives are now working beautifully, thanks all! :D

    I'm using intelliJ IDEA 9. It has a function to make a copyright profile and apply to all files I create. What I'm trying to do is to format the copyright comment right. Suppose I have a copyright text as this: Copyright (c) 2010 my.company. All rights reserved. I wish it to be inserted in files automatically as following: //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// // // Copyright (c) 2010 my.company. All rights reserved. // //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// But when I enter the line "Copyright (c) 2010 my.company. All rights reserved." in the copyright profile (without quotes) and configure the formatting to use line comment and borders, and so on, I can only make it to display as below: //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// // Copyright (c) 2010 my.company. All rights reserved. //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Even when I put the copyright text with blank line above and below to the template, as following, it still comes out like above. Is there any way to configure it so the copyright text will have blank lines above and below within the comments?

    I have a python (2.7) project containing my own packages util and operator (and so forth). I read about relative imports, but perhaps I didn't understand. I have the following directory structure: top-dir/ util/__init__.py (empty) util/ua.py util/ub.py operator/__init__.py ... test/test1.py The test1.py file contains #!/usr/bin/env python2 from __future__ import absolute_import # removing this line dosn't change anything. It's default functionality in python2.7 I guess import numpy as np It's fine when I execute test1.py inside the test/ folder.
