Why then i.get(0) does not return an Object? if it was already passed in as such? Furthermore what is the point of using a <?> when then you have to use an helper method using <T>. Would not be better using directly which can be inferred?

    I am asking the same question as this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/691323/trying-to-upload-a-non-existent-file-in-internet-explorer-form-is-not-submitted I'm not sure if the topic starter found a solution, since he did not post the answer. So, I'd like to ask you guys this question again. I have type=input in my form, and a submit button. If I type garbage input into the textbox (like the text "abc") in the file control's textbox, and click the submit button, the form is not submitted to the server. AND, no feedback is given to the user. Instead of this "Is-the-submit-button-broken?" behavior, is there a way I could notify the user that the file does not exist? (I am aware this is not possible, except with ActiveX, but I don't want to go into that) My client wants to hide the textbox of the file control, but I'm not sure if this is a good design. What do you guys suggest? (If it makes any difference, I am also using this jquery plugin: http://www.fyneworks.com/jquery/multiple-file-upload/)

    I need to return multiple values from a ColdFusion function in an ajax callback function. I need the function to also pass back other values. One might be the primary key of the row that caused the error. Another might be the old StateName, so that I can refresh the old value on the screen so that the client will know absolutely for sure that their change did not take effect. I guess I'm breaking the rule of atomicity here and need to fix that, because I'm using result as both the primary key of the row that was updated, or it's the error message if the update fails. I need to return both the primary key and the error message.

    I want to write some code which takes any positive, even number (greater than 2) and gives me the smallest pair of primes that sum up to this number. I need this program to handle any integer up to 9 digits long. My aim is to make something that looks like this: Please enter a positive even integer ( greater than 2 ) : 10 The first primes adding : 3+7=10. Please enter a positive even integer ( greater than 2 ) : 160 The first primes adding : 3+157=160. Please enter a positive even integer ( greater than 2 ) : 18456 The first primes adding : 5+18451=18456. I don't want to use any library besides stdio.h. I don't want to use arrays, strings, or anything besides for the most basic toolbox: scanf, printf, for, while, do-while, if, else if, break, continue, and the basic operators (<,, ==, =+, !=, %, *, /, etc...). Please no other functions especially is_prime. I know how to limit the input to my needs so that it loops until given a valid entry. So now I'm trying to figure out the algorithm.     I am trying to query the following HQL using GORM: MailMessage.executeQuery("toId, count(toId) from (SELECT toId, threadId FROM MailMessage as m WHERE receiveStatus = '$u' GROUP BY threadId, toId) as x group by x.toId") The problem is that count(toId) is a computed field doesn't exist in MailMessage and that I am using a subquery. I get the following error: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: node to traverse cannot be null! Ideally, I would like to use a generic executeQuery which will return data of anytype. Is there such a thing?

  • Deterministic floating point and .NET

    How can I guarantee that floating point calculations in a .NET application (say in C#) always produce the same bit-exact result? Especially when using different versions of .NET and running on different platforms (x86 vs x86_64). Inaccuracies of floating point operations do not matter. In Java I'd use strictfp. In C/C++ and other low level languages this problem is essentially solved by accessing the FPU / SSE control registers but that's probably not possible in .NET. Even with control of the FPU control register the JIT of .NET will generate different code on different platforms. Something like HotSpot would be even worse in this case... Why do I need it? I'm thinking about writing a real-time strategy (RTS) game which heavily depends on fast floating point math together with a lock stepped simulation. Essentially I will only transmit user input across the network. This also applies to other games which implement replays by storing the user input. Not an option are: decimals (too slow) fixed point values (too slow and cumbersome when using sqrt, sin, cos, tan, atan...) update state across the network like an FPS: Sending position information for hundreds or a few thousand units is not an option Any ideas?

    I am using DynamicData in the version that shipped with VS2008. In the default List view, the data is sorted by order of entry into the database. I'd like to get it sorted by a field of a specific name (descending). As a last resort I tried to use the OrderByParameter of the LinqDataSource with a QueryStringParameter, but I could not get it to sort anything. =) Is there an easy way to accomplish this?

    Hello: I have a simple webpage that displays the credit balance for calling cards. So far without any problems, with HTML, PHP and mysql, I was able to retrieve the balance from a data base. But I have to display the result in ANOTHER PAGE, wich looks akward because the page must reload. Can I just load this value into a pre-drawed field under the input fields that collect the data from the customer?     I want to ensure that a user editing a particular model is saved in that models updated_by (FK User) field. I'm using mostly ModelForms (not necessarily the built in Admin), and wondering: In what cases would I need to override ModelAdmin.save_model() or ModelAdmin.save_formset()? Or, is that doing it wrong? If it's just the models' save() method that needs to be overridden, is there a proper way to access the request object there?

  • ERB doesnt get executed in javascript scripts

    Hi guys I have a select input on my page. this select input displays/hides fields in the form. This all works fine. But the problem is that if i submit the form and lack some necessary fields, it doesnt set the select to the right value afterwards.
