  • Pound symbol not displaying on web page

    Hello I have a mysql database table to store country name and currency symbol - the CHARSET has correctly set to UTF8. This is example data inserted into the table insert into country ( country_name, currency_name, currency_code, currency_symbol) values ('UK','Pounds','GBP','£'); When I look in the database - the pound symbol appears fine - but when I retrieve it from the database and display it on the website - a weird square symbol shows up with a question mark inside instead of the pound symbol.     I am adding a new address and I know the structure as AddressID = PK and all other entities are non nullable.     I am using VS2008 C# and testing on my local XP Pro PC with local IIS, I have wrote a web service to call a third party software .exe file to use svn checkout commands to insert data into a folder, which use System.Diagnostics.Process.Start . The same codes did work when I use VS2008 build-in ASP.NET Development Server(http://localhost:2999/MyServices/MyServices.asmx). but when I use IIS normal URL(http://developer/MyServices/MyServices.asmx) to run Process.Start on the web service, it just haunlted and not doing anything.plz send one sample program.

I need to get the url from the link I'm clicking, so I do: var url = $(this).attr("href"); which works fine if I alert it out(the link includes http://samedomain.com/etc.php), but the ajax function doesn't post if I insert it into the ajax code: $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: url, data: info, success: function(){ }}); Please help, as I'm screwed without this working.

I have tried stripping off the query portion of the URL with: String nohtml = sb.toString().replaceAll("\\<.*?>",""); where sb is a Stringbulder, but it doesn't seem to strip off the whole query substring. In an unrelated question, I'd like to use threads here because I must retrieve many URLs; how can I create a multi-thread client to improve the speed?

    Is there an XPath way of recovering directly one specific attribute of preceding sibling nodes of an XML node using an XPath query? In the following example, I would like to retrieve the values of the alt attribute of each img nodes that precede the div element marked with the id=marker. <content> <img alt="1" src="file.gif" /> <img alt="2" src="file.gif" /> <img alt="3" src="file.gif" /> <img alt="4" src="file.gif" /> <div id='marker'></div> </content> For this example, I want to retrieve the values 1 2 3 4.     What is the best way to modify the latest added row without using a temporary table. E.g. the table structure is id | text | date My current approach would be an insert with the postgresql specific command "returning id" so that I can update the table afterwards with update myTable set date='2013-11-11' where id = lastRow However I have the feeling that postgresql is not simply using the last row but is iterating through millions of entries until "id = lastRow" is found. How can i directly access the last added row?

    I am using word 2007 and am inserting code into the document. I have a style with a fixed-width font and light grey background and all, and I use Notepad++ for syntax highlighting. My problem is with a "line" of code that is too long to display, so is there a way to auto-insert an arrow symbol at the beginning of a such lines to indicate that it is the same line (kind of like hyphenating, except on long lines instead of long words) So for e.g. something like this: public static void foo(String abcdefg, Boolean 123, ?String xyz)

  • Why can't I save my model with a generic relation twice in Django?

    I got a model TrackedItem with a generic relation linking to any model it is supposed to track. If I do that: t = TrackedItem(content_object=MyModel) t.save() t.save() I get : IntegrityError: (1062, "Duplicate entry '1' for key 'PRIMARY'") Indeed, the first save has created an entry with "1" as a PK. But the second save should not insert, it should update. How am I suppose to update a model I can't save twice? With an ordinary model I can save as much as I want.

    I am confused on how I can create an SQL statement containing colons. I am trying to create a view and I am using (notice the double colons): create view MyView as ( SELECT tableA.colA as colA, tableB.colB as colB, round(tableB.colD / 1024)::numeric, 2) as calcValue, FROM tableA, tableB WHERE tableA.colC = 'someValue' ); This is a postgres query and I am forced to use the double colons (::) in order to correctly run the statement. I then pass the above statement through: s.createSQLQuery(myQuery).executeUpdate(); and I get a: Exception in thread "main" org.hibernate.exception.DataException: \ could not execute native bulk manipulation query at org.hibernate.exception.SQLStateConverter.convert(\ SQLStateConverter.java:102) ... more stacktrace... with an output of my above statement changed as (notice the question mark): create view MyView as ( SELECT tableA.colA as colA, tableB.colB as colB, round(tableB.colD / 1024)?, 2) as calcValue, FROM tableA, tableB WHERE tableA.colC = 'someValue' ); Obviously, hibernate confuses my colons with named parameters. Is there a way to escape the colons (a google suggestion that mentions that a single colon is escaped as a double colon does NOT work) or another way of running this statement? Thanks.

I using DomXPath to filter the data, but i don't know how to retrieve the nodeName and value for each element. The code below only returns 'member' as the node name?
