I've never really got my head around the bindings file and what all the entries mean. Can anyone provide guidance to understand this file?

  • help setting up wsHttpBinding WCF service on .net

    I'm trying to host a WCF service with wsHttpBinding. I created a certificate using makecert and put some lines in web.config. This is the error that I'm getting: System.ArgumentException: The certificate 'CN=WCfServer' must have a private key that is capable of key exchange. The process must have access rights for the private key. On googling up it seems to be some issue with access rights on the certificate file. I used cacls to give read permission to NETWORK SERVICE and also my username but it didn't change anything. I also went to security settings in the properties of the certificate file and gave full control to NETWORK SERVICE and my username. Again to no avail. Can you guide me as to what the problem is and what exactly I need to do? I'm really flaky with these certificate things.     I have a large VB program that connects to Oracle database. strCn = "Driver={Microsoft ODBC for Oracle};" & _ "SERVER=PSPROD;" Set Cn = New ADODB.Connection Cn.ConnectionString = strCn Cn.CursorLocation = adUseNone Cn.Open There are many users of my program so I have a table that contains each user's login name and their access rights to the various tables. I create a recordset of all users when the program is started and then select USERNAME and GRANTED_ROLE from the record set where USERNAME and PASSWORD are found. I use a "Set role 'GRANTED_ROLE' identified by 'password'" statment and Cn.Execute statement to set up the user's access rights. This is all done in a Module. On a form, I want to call a Stored Procedure that will SELECT, INSERT and UPDATE information into another schema's tables.   • WCF ReliableSession and Timeouts

    I have a WCF service used mainly for managing documents in a repository. I used the chunking channel sample from MS so that I could upload/download huge files. Now I implemented reliable session with the service and I am seeing some strange behaviors. Here are the timeout values I am using. this.SendTimeout = new TimeSpan(0,10,0); this.OpenTimeout = new TimeSpan(0, 1, 0); this.CloseTimeout = new TimeSpan(0, 1, 0); this.ReceiveTimeout = new TimeSpan(0,10, 0); reliableBe.InactivityTimeout = new TimeSpan(0,2,0); I have the following issues. 1. If the Service is not up & running, the clients are not get disconnected after OpenTimeout. I tried it with my test client. Scenario 1: Without Reliable Session: I get the following exception: Could not connect to net.tcp://localhost:8788/MediaManagementService/ep1. The connection attempt lasted for a time span of 00:00:00.9848790. TCP error code 10061: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:8788 This is the correct behavior as I have given the OpenTimeout as 1 sec. Scenario 2: With ReliableSession: I get the same exception: Could not connect to net.tcp://localhost:8788/MediaManagementService/ep1. The connection attempt lasted for a time span of 00:00:00.9692460. TCP error code 10061: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:8788. But this message comes after around 10 mintes . (I believe after SendTimeout) So here I just have enabled the reliable session and now it looks like the OpenTimeout = SendTimeout for the client. Is this desired behavior? 2: Issue while uploading huge files with ReliableSession: The general rule is that you have to set a huge value for the maxReceivedMessageSize, SendTimeout and ReceiveTimeout. But in the case of Chunking channel, the max received message size doesn't matter as the data is sent in chunks. So I set a huge value for Send and ReceiveTimeout : say 10 hours. Now the upload is going fine, but it has a side effect that, even if the Service is not up, it takes 10 hours to timeout the client connection due to the behavior mentioned in (1). Please let me know your thoughts on this behavior.

    Hello, I have a problem with m2eclipse (0.10.0) together with eclipse galileo (Build id: 20090920-1017). I always get the error message:"Eclipse is running in a JRE, but a JDK is required". I have tried several things, but nothing works. The error message is still there. Here are the things I have tried: In WindowPreferencesJavaInstalled JREs I checked JDK1.6.0_20. DOES NOT WORK In WindowPreferencesJavaInstalled JREs I removed all JREs. Only the checked JDK1.6.0_20 is still there. DOES NOT WORK In WindowPreferencesJavaInstalled JREsExecution Environments I choosed JavaSE-1.6 and checked JDK1.6.0_20[perfect match]. DOES NOT WORK. In Preferences of the eclipse desktop start icon I added the -vm parameter (C:\Programme\eclipse_galileo\eclipse\eclipse.exe -vm C:\Programme\Java\jdk1.6.0_20\bin). DOES NOT WORK. I added the clean parameter (C:\Programme\eclipse_galileo\eclipse\eclipse.exe -vm C:\Programme\Java\jdk1.6.0_20\bin -clean). DOES NOT WORK. I added the -vm parameter to the eclipse.ini file with a carriage return after -vm and C:/Programme/Java/jdk1.6.0_20/bin/javaw.exe in a new line. DOES NOT WORK. After doing all these things I removed the m2eclipse plugin and installed it once again. DOES NOT WORK. New ideas I have tried: In Preferences of the eclipse desktop start icon I put the executable at the end (C:\Programme\eclipse_galileo\eclipse\eclipse.exe -vm C:\Programme\Java\jdk1.6.0_20\bin\javaw.exe). DOES NOT WORK. I changed in eclipse.ini the slashes to backslashes. DOES NOT WORK.   • gcc 4.5 installation problem under ubuntu

    I tried to install gcc 4.5 on ubuntu 10.04 but failed. Here is a compile error that I don't know how to solve. Is there anyone successfully install the latest gcc on ubuntu? Following is my steps and the error message, I'd like to know where is the problem.... Step1: download these files: gcc-core-4.5.0.tar.gz gcc-g++-4.5.0.tar.gz gmp-4.3.2.tar.bz2 mpc-0.8.1.tar.gz mpfr-2.4.2.tar.gz Step2: Unzip above files Step3: move gmp, mpc, mpfr to the gcc-4.5.0/ directory. mv gmp-4.3.2 gcc-4.5.0/gmp mv mpc-0.8.1 gcc-4.5.0/mpc mv mpfr-2.4.2 gcc-4.5.0/mpfr Step4: go to gcc-4.5.0 directory and do configuration: sudo ./configure Step5: compile and install sudo make sudo make install The first 4 steps is OK, I can configure it successfully. However, when I try to compile it, following error message comes out, I cannot figure out what the problem is. Should I change the name from "gcc 4.5" to "gcc"?? It's a little strange that we need to do this by ourself.   • PayPal Cannot send value to paypal

    Hi.. I have created PayPal handler class now i can receive properly all IPN messages and all transaction successful.Now i need to keep track of my users which user send request then i need to update his database .I tried to send my application primary key to PayPal to get to know which user doing transaction then i tried to retrieve in IPN message but i cant retrieve what i sent my own value some value. Is it possible to send own value to PayPal or how should i update my DB...Thank you Adv.

  • rspec needs to be installed in base app

    I am having trouble building a gem. When I run rake it gives the the following error message: You need to install rspec in your base app I'm not completely certain what I should be doing to fix this. I have double checked that rspec is, in fact installed. Any help would be appreciated.
