I have never thought of that, so it inspired me to do some searching, but I cannot find exactly what I want. • GCC: Compile to assembly with clarified correspondence to code?

  When you break into the debugger in VS and open the disassembly window, each assembly fragment is displayed below it's corresponding code section (more or less). GCC with -S outputs only the stripped down assembly. Is there an option in GCC to show some correspondence to the original code? Source code is C++.

  Suppose I want to write my own preprocessor. So I want something like this: all *.cpp and *.hpp (even the included ones), before they go to g++, they go: file --> my preprocessor -> g++ Is there a easy way to do this in the LLVM framework? i.e. to add in a stage that says: "after you load up the source file, pipe it through this program before compling it" ?   I'm trying to understand debug output from a crash log. I have the following line from the crashlog: 22 FG 0x00022b94 0x1000 + 138132 I understand how to use atos on 0x00022b94 to get the source code location. What I would like to know is why the crash log helpfully splits that number into 0x1000 + 138132? I have googled and the googles failed me.

  In CVS, we could programatically create a new branch of existing source using the "rtag" command, which did not require a copy of the repository. Does git support functionality of this kind, making a branch of existing files in a remote git repository without having a local copy of it? Or does the distributed nature of git preclude this? (I'm trying to save the 20+ minutes it would take to make a freestanding copy of the repository, just to run a 'git branch' command.)

• (iphone) how can I tell I need a 3.0 + iOS installed device when looking at apple doc?

  Hi, I've seen iphone related open source library which says something like, "You need 4.0+ iOS build environment but the code will run on 3.0+ iOS device." I wonder how those two requirements can differ and how can I tell a minimum 'device' iOS version which a certain api would need. For instance I want to use UIGestureRecognizer but the apple doc says it's 3.2+, but I want my app run on 3.12+. Is there a difference between build os requirement and device os requirement to run an app? Thank you

Person2 Person3 And i would like the package to put this information in a database with standard columns 'Person', 'Day', 'Value'. I would like to have the xaml editor, but not the design surface as it slows down the IDE, when I try to open a XAML file. Occasionally, I'm using the stack trace to get a more detailed error reporting logs from the deployed applications; can this functionality be achieved without relying to those files?
