  • Connect to multiple VPNs?

    I need a way to connect to multiple VPNs. It's to access camera systems and resources that are on different networks as a client. One VPN could be a company network, and another a city network. Is there a straightforward way to do this? I've experimented with setting up multiple virtual machines in virtualbox already, and I'd like to avoid having to have a full OS installation for every VPN I want to connect to.

  • httpd.conf ruined - can't access my vps anymore

    Okay, so this may be incredible stupid But I was configuring my httpd.conf file yesterday. After a server restart, I can no longer access it. Port 80 is working fine, and it displays my webpages, however when I access the site via ssh, it just says the connection was refused. I cannot access webmin which is port 10000 or access it via ftp :/ Do I need to recreate the whole site or is there a way to get into it? I think I messed up the virtual hosts :)

  • unable to connect site to different port

    I have a domain was registered at godaddy named http://mysite.com/. I logged into godaddy and I went to All Products Domains Domain Management. I clicked on the appropriate domain and it took me to the Domain Details page. I clicked Launch under DNS Manager and it took me to the Zone File Editor. I noticed that notify.mysite.com was pointing to an IP address pointing to a dead server, so I switched it to an operating server. Then I pinged the domain to see where it was pointing to and it was correctly pointing to the working server. So I copied the default configuration under sites-available: sudo cp default notify.mysite.com. And then I made some edits to it to have it point to a different document root to serve files at a different port: Listen 1740 Listen 64.135.xx.xxx:1740 #I also tried this as well: NameVirtualHost 64.135.xx.xxx:1740 <VirtualHost 64.135.xx.xxx:1740> ServerAdmin [email protected] ServerName notify.mysite.com DocumentRoot /var/www/test/public <Directory /var/www/test/public> Order allow,deny allow from all </Directory> ErrorLog ${APACHE_LOG_DIR}/error.log LogLevel warn CustomLog ${APACHE_LOG_DIR}/access.log combined </VirtualHost> Then I enabled the virtual host. Then I went to the document root and added an index.html file with some text in it. Then I restarted apache. The restart gave no errors. Then I type the correct domain in URL: http://notify.mysite.com:1740/ and I get: Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to notify.mysite.com:1740 Somehow it took out all my other sites. Now even the ones that were responding on port 80 are no longe responding, even though I did not touch the virtual hosts for them. I get this message now: Oops!   • Postfix sendmail bypass restrictions [on hold]

    I have setup a postfix/dovecot mail server and all thing work fine! BUT: I use virtual mailboxes and when you try to send a mail to a non existent mailbox via telnet postfix will punch you... But if you use sendmail, all restricitons are bypassed... This is bad becuase dovecot does not know what to do with this mail! It will stay in the queue for ever... How can I force sendmail to use normal smtp?

  • Temporarily block other users from network printer

    I found where someone else asked this question here, but they did not get a working answer. We have a printer that is shared. It has it's own network card, so we all have equal access to it. (none of our computers owns it) One of our users needs to print on specialty paper and we need to be sure not to print when that paper is in the printer. Our current method is "Hey, don't print anything right now!" Obviously this method is not preferred because it does not enforce itself. :-) I think all our PCs are running Win7 Home. The printer in question is an HP Laserjet 2200. Is there a way that we can make this happen?

  • HP ProLiant DL380 G3 Running Windows Server 2000 has crashed between 6-7:30am for the past 5 days

    I have a HP ProLiant DL380 G3 running Windows Server 2000 that has been crashing everyday between 6-730am. This started when I changed out a failing hard drive 6 days ago. I have looked at the scheduled tasks which does not have anything pertaining to this issue. Below are the only things I see in the system log and some of the dump files. Can this be a hardware issue if this happens at a certain time frame everyday? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks The previous system shutdown at 6:07:55 AM on 2/7/2012 was unexpected.     Hey! On the server lies a html file with javascript code included. This javascript code includes a method called something like "CheckObject". This file works for all users, except one specific (but important). He gets a javascript error and in his browser sourcode appears something unbelievable: The methodname "CheckObject" is replaced with "Check!==ect", means the "Obj" of the method name is replaced with !==.     My Asus worked perfectly until yesterday. I assume that the battery drained and AC was not plugged. I turned it on and doesn't chargeat all. It seems that something wrong with my battery. It works from AC but when it is plugged it shows only 4% available charging. When I unplug AC it shuts down right away. I already tried the 45 seconds holding power button method, and I uninstalled in device manager Microsoft ACPI-compliant Method Battery. Nothing helped. Does anybody has any idea?

  • Can fully-qualified hostname be used as a unique identifier?

    If I get the fully qualified computer name on a Windows server (2K3 or 2K8) using the GetComputerNameEx() API call, can I rely on that name to be unique on that particular domain? That is, can I assume that only a single active physical or virtual machine will have that fully qualified name at a given time? As a second question: is it guaranteed that all Windows machines will have such a fully-qualified name? Thanks for any help.

    I have a virtual machine on Vsphere 5.0 running Ubuntu 12.04 when i put dinamic IP (/etc/network/interfaces) iface eth0 inet dhcp Ubuntu have network and i can do ping to google for example (8.8.8.8) but when i put static IP and configure resolv.conf My interfaces file: auto eth0 iface eth0 inet static address 192.168.1.54 gateway 192.168.1.1 netmask 255.255.255.0 it lost the network and i cant do ping to anything...i dont understand where is the problem...   • MVC2 and MVC Futures causing RedirectToAction issues

    I've been trying to get the strongly typed version of RedirectToAction from the MVC Futures project to work, but I've been getting no where. Below are the steps I've followed, and the errors I've encountered. Any help is much appreciated. I created a new MVC2 app and changed the About action on the HomeController to redirect to the Index page. Return RedirectToAction("Index") However, I wanted to use the strongly typed extensions, so I downloaded the MVC Futures from CodePlex and added a reference to Microsoft.Web.Mvc to my project. I addded the following "import" statement to the top of HomeContoller.vb Imports Microsoft.Web.Mvc I commented out the above RedirectToAction and added the following line: Return RedirectToAction(Of HomeController)(Function(c) c.Index()) So far, so good. However, I noticed if I uncomment out the first (non Generic) RedirectToAction, it was now causing the following compile error: Error 1 Overload resolution failed because no accessible 'RedirectToAction' can be called with these arguments: Extension method 'Public Function RedirectToAction(Of TController)(action As System.Linq.Expressions.Expression(Of System.Action(Of TController))) As System.Web.Mvc.RedirectToRouteResult' defined in 'Microsoft.Web.Mvc.ControllerExtensions': Data type(s) of the type parameter(s) cannot be inferred from these arguments. Specifying the data type(s) explicitly might correct this error. Becuase I thought this might be some VB issue, I created a new MVC2 project using C# and tried the same as above. I added the following "using" statement to the top of HomeController.cs using Microsoft.Web.Mvc; This time, in the About action method, I could only manage to call the non-generic RedirectToAction by typing the full commmand as follows: return Microsoft.Web.Mvc.ControllerExtensions.RedirectToAction<HomeController>(this, c => c.Index()); Even though I had a "using" statement at the top of the class, if I tried to call the non-generic RedirectToAction as follows: return RedirectToAction<HomeController>(c => c.Index()); I would get the following compile error: Error 1 The non-generic method 'System.Web.Mvc.Controller.RedirectToAction(string)' cannot be used with type arguments What gives? It's not like I'm trying to do anything out of the ordinary. It's a simple vanilla MVC2 project with only a reference to the Futures assembly. I'm hoping that I've missed out something obvious, but I've been scratching my head for too long, so I figured I'd seek some assisstance. If anyone's managed to get this simple scenario working (in VB and/or C#) could they please let me know what, if anything, they did differently? Thanks!

What I did: Downloaded Tomcat 6.0.26 & Spring 3.0.1 Downloaded PetClinic from https://src.springframework.org/svn/spring-samples/petclinic Built & deployed petclinic.war. Ran fine with default TopLink persistence. Edited webapps/WEB-INF/spring/applicationContext-jpa.xml and changed jpaVendorAdaptor from TopLink to Hibernate. Edited webapps/WEB-INF/web.xml and changed context-param from applicationContext-jdbc.xml to applicationContext-jpa.xml Copied everything in the Spring 3.0.1 distribution to TOMCAT_HOME/lib. Launched tomcat. Saw Caused by: java.lang.IllegalStateException: ClassLoader [org.apache.catalina.loader.WebappClassLoader] does NOT provide an 'addTransformer(ClassFileTransformer)' method. Specify a custom LoadTimeWeaver or start your Java virtual machine with Spring's agent: -javaagent:spring-agent.jar Uncommented line <Loader loaderClass="org.springframework.instrument.classloading.tomcat.TomcatInstrumentableClassLoader"/> in webapps/META-INF/context.xml. Same error. Added that line to TOMCAT_HOME/context.xml Deployed without error.
