• PHP: prevent invocation of method X from from context != Y

  This is a tricky one. I am "emulating" ZF Bootstrapping (surface appearance). Don't ask me why, call it academic interest. So I have a Bootstrap Abstract with a method "run" that iterates over itself to locate any methods prefixed with "init". The application looks for a user defined class which extends this class, in which the user can define any number of methods in this way. However, I want to prevent the user from being able to execute the "run" command of it's parent class, while still exposing the same command for the client code. Anyone got any thoughts/advice/guidance? regards SWK

  I'm developing an ActiveX EXE that exposes an specific class to a third-party software. This third-party software instanciates an object of this class and uses its methods. Strangely, this third-party software destroys its object of my exposed class as soon as it calls an specific method, but I have no idea why this happens. The only clue I have is that this method is the only one that returns a value. All the other ones are simple 'subs' that do not return any value, and when they are called nothing wrong happens. I'm using VB6. Do you guys have any idea of why it's happening?

• Problem deploying GWT application on apache and tomcat using mod_jk

  I'm trying to deploy a GWT app on Apache using mod_jk connector. I have compiled the application and tested it on tomcat on the address localhost:8080/loginapp and it works ok. Suppose somewhere I want to loop through all the Workflow objects, and for each workflow I want to loop through its Commands, and for each Command I want to loop through each Job. Is there a way to structure this with a single query? That is, I'd like Workflow.objects.all() to join in its dependent models, so I get a collection that has dependent objects already cached, so workflows[0].command_set.get() doesn't produce an additional query. Is this possible?

  Hi, I never used Settings class before but I found some articles on CodeProject which I'm currently reading (for example http://www.codeproject.com/KB/cs/PropertiesSettings.aspx) but so far I didn't see how to save string array for getting it after application is started next time. For example my application has several FileSystemWatcher instances, with each instance several other directories are connected (for example one FSW instance is monitoring one directory for a change and when it happens it copies some file to several other directories), so I would have one string array with watched paths representing FSW instances, and string array for each of those paths, representing directories that are affected. My question is, what should I use (Settings class or something else), and how should I use that for storing application configuration that is variable number of string arrays? Emphasize is on something I could use very soon as I don't have too much time to make custom class (but would have to if I cannot find solution) or dig into some obscure hacks. Any tutorial link, code snippet would be very helpful. Thanks.

• Customer session is different in different parts of a Magento website

  I have a function inside of a Helper in Magento that returns whether or not a customer attribute equals one. Here is my Helper class class Nie_Nie_Helper_Data extends Mage_Core_Helper_Abstract { public function isNieAdmin() { if(Mage::getSingleton('customer/session')->getCustomer()->getNieAdmin() == 1) { return true; } else { return false; } } } Now when I call this function from a class that extends Mage_Core_Block_Template, everything seems to work fine. However when I try to use this inside one of my controllers, it does not work. In fact when I do Mage::getSingleton('customer/session')-getCustomer()-debug() the only variable that is returned is the website_id. Does anyone know what I have to do in order to get this to work? • Container of shared_ptr's but iterate with raw pointers

  I have a class that holds a list containing boost::shared_ptrs to objects of another class. The class member functions that give access to the elemets in the list return raw pointers. For consistency I'd also like to be able to iterate with raw pointers instead of shared_ptrs. So when I dereference the list iterator, I'd like to get raw pointer, not a shared_ptr. I assume I need to write a custom iterator for this. Is this correct? If so can someone point me in the right direction - I've never done this before.

  Hi, I'm unfamiliar to working in c++ under linux so I have some issues, one of them is that after I write a class and try to instantiate an object of that class I get to following error : "undefined reference to Constructor_of_that_class" . This happens for every class that I write , and it happens no matter where I try to do the instantiating, even if the code compiles without any problems . What is going wrong here and what I have to do to get over this error ? Because the project that I'm working wasn't created by me I suspect that it has to do something with some settings but I don't know which.

  I have an nHibernate querie issue that looks quite straight forward, but I can't seem to get my head around it! I am creating some simple example classes to illustrate my problem: public class Car { public int Id { get; set; } public IList<Interior> InteriorParts { get; set; } } public class Interior { public int Id { get; set; } public InteriorProducer Producer { get; set; } } public class InteriorProducer { public int Id { get; set; } } Now to the query: I have the id of the InteriorProducer, but need to get a list of Cars where the interior have been produced by the interior producer. So in a simple, pseudo SQL, it looks something like this: select cars where car.InteriorParts.Producer.Id = Id I have a really hard time getting my head around this to create an nHibernate query.   Suppose I have the following Domain class mapping to a legacy table, utilizing read-only second-level cache, and having a transient field: class DomainObject { static def transients = ['userId'] Long id Long userId static mapping = { cache usage: 'read-only' table 'SOME_TABLE' } } I have a problem, references to DomainObject are being shared due to first-level caching, and thus transient fields are writing over each other. For example, def r1 = DomainObject.get(1) r1.userId = 22 def r2 = DomainObject.get(1) r2.userId = 34 assert r1.userId == 34 That is, r1 and r2 are references to the same instance. This is undesirable, I would like to cache the table data without sharing references. Any ideas? [Edit] Understanding the situation better now, I believe my question boils down to the following: Is there anyway to disable first level cache for a specific domain class while still using second level cache?

  If I have 2 synchronized methods in the same class, but each accessing different variables, can 2 threads access those 2 methods at the same time? Does the lock occur on the object, or does it get as specific as the variables inside the synchronized method? Example: class x{ private int a; private int b; public synchronized void addA(){ a++; } public synchronized void addB(){ b++; } } Can 2 threads access the same instance of class x performing x.addA() and x.addB() at the same time?

  I'm working with some models where a lot of a given model's key attributes are actually stored in a submodel. Example: class WikiArticle has_many :revisions has_one :current_revision, :class_name => "Revision", :order => "created_at DESC" end class Revision has_one :wiki_article end The Revision class has a ton of database fields, and the WikiArticle has very few. However, I often have to access a Revision's fields from the context of a WikiArticle. The most important case of this is probably on creating an article. I've been doing that with lots of methods that look like this, one for each field: def description if @description @description elsif current_revision current_revision.description else "" end end def description=(string) @description = string end And then on my save, I save @description into a new revision. This whole thing reminds me a lot of attr_accessor, only it doesn't seem like I can get attr_accessor to do what I need. How can I define an attr_submodel_accessor such that I could just give field names and have it automatically create all those methods the way attr_accessor does?

• How can I tell if a given hWnd is still valid?

  Please forgive my ignorance, I'm completely new when it comes to winforms programming. I'm using a third-party class that spawns an instance of Internet Explorer. This class has a property, hWnd, that returns the hWnd of the process. Later on down the line, I may want to reuse the instance of the application if it still exists, so I need to tell my helper class to attach to it. Prior to doing that, I'd like to know if the given hWnd is still valid, otherwise I'll spawn another instance. How can I do this in C# & .NET 3.5?   I have a problem with jQuery, here is how my web app works Search.aspx web page which contains a form and jQuery script posts data to Search() action in Home controller after user clicks button1 button. Search() action in controller runs for longer period of time. I simulate this in testing by putting Thread.Sleep(15000); in Search()action. 5 sec. after Submit button was pressed, the above jQuery script calls Refresh() action in Home controller. public ActionResult Refresh() { ViewData["Result"] = DateTime.Now; return PartialView(); } Refresh() renders this partial <%@ Control Language="C#" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl" % <%= ViewData["Result"] % The problem is that in Internet Explorer 8 there is only one request to /Home/Refresh; in Firefox 3.6.3 all requests to /Home/Refresh are made but nothing is displayed on the web page. Another problem with Firefox is that requests to /Home/Refresh are made every second not every 5 seconds. I noticed that after I clear Firefox cache the script works well first time button1 is pressed, but after that it doesn't work. I would be grateful for helpful suggestions.
