• YUI "Get" utility to parse JSON response?

  The documentation page for the YUI "Get" utility says: Get Utility is ideal for loading your own scripts or CSS progressively (lazy-loading) or for retrieving cross-domain JSON data from sources in which you have total trust. ...but doesn't have any actual examples for how to do so. Their one example doesn't actually request a JSON document from a remote server, but instead a document containing actual JavaScript along with the JSON data. I'm just interested in the JSON response from the Google Maps API HTTP (REST) interface. Because I can't do cross-site scripting with the "Connect" utility, I am trying the "Get" utility. But merely inserting some JSON data into the page isn't going to do anything, of course. I have to assign it to a variable. But how? Also, just inserting JSON data into the page makes Firefox complain that there's a JavaScript error. And understandably! Plain ol' JSON data isn't going to parse as valid JavaScript. Any ideas?

• NHibernate: Mapping multiple classes from a single table row

  I couldn't find an answer to this specific question. I am trying to keep my domain model object-oriented and re-use objects where possible. I am having an issue determining how to provide a mapping to multiple classes from a single row. Let me explain with an example: I have a single table, call it Customer. A customer has several attributes; but, for brevity, assume it has Id, Name, Address, City, State, ZipCode. I would like to create a Customer and Address class that look like this: public class Customer { public virtual long Id {get;set;} public virtual string Name {get;set;} public virtual Address Address {get;set;} } public class Address { public virtual string Address {get;set;} public virtual string City {get;set;} public virtual string State {get;set;} public virtual string ZipCode {get;set;} } What I am having trouble with is determining what the mapping would be for the Address class within the Customer class. There is no Address table and there isn't a "set" of addresses associated with a Customer. I just want a more object-oriented view of the Customer table in code. There are several other tables that have address information in them and it would be nice to have a reusable Address class to deal with them. Addresses are not shared so breaking all addresses into a separate table with foreign keys seems to be overkill and, actually, more painful since I would need foreign keys to multiple tables. Can someone enlighten me on this type of mapping? Please provide an example if you can. Thanks for any insights! -Mike

• Json HTTP Module stream issue

  Hey, I have an HTTP Module that I use to clean up the JSON returned by my web service (see http://www.codeproject.com/KB/webservices/ASPNET_JSONP.aspx?msg=3400287#xx3400287xx for an example of this.) Basically it relates to calling cross-domain JSON web services from javascript. There is this JsonHttpModule which uses a JsonResponseFilter Stream class to write out the JSON and the overloaded Write method is supposed to wrap the name of the callback function around the JSON, otherwise the JSON errors out as needing a label. However, if the JSON is really long, the Write method in the Stream class is called multiple times, causing the callback function to incorrectly get inserted midway through the JSON. Is there a way in the Stream class to wrap the callback function around the stream at the end or to specify that it write all of the JSON in 1 Write method instead of in chunks?? Here's where it calls the JsonResponseFilter in the JsonHttpModule: public void OnReleaseRequestState(object sender, EventArgs e) { HttpApplication app = (HttpApplication)sender; if (!_Apply(app.Context.Request)) return; // apply response filter to conform to JSONP app.Context.Response.Filter = new JsonResponseFilter(app.Context.Response.Filter, app.Context); } Here's the Write method in the JsonResponseFilter Stream class that gets called multiple times: public override void Write(byte[] buffer, int offset, int count) { var b1 = Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(_context.Request.Params["callback"] + "("); _responseStream.Write(b1, 0, b1.Length); _responseStream.Write(buffer, offset, count); var b2 = Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(");"); _responseStream.Write(b2, 0, b2.Length); } Thanks for any help! • Is ASP.NET MVC is really MVC? Or how to separate model from controller?

  Hi all, This question is a bit rhetorical. At some point i got a feeling that ASP.NET MVC is not that authentic implementation of MVC pattern. Or i didn't understood it. Consider following domain: electric bulb, switch and motion detector. They are connected together and when you enter the room motion detector switches on the bulb. If i want to represent them as MVC: switch is model, because it holds the state and contains logic bulb is view, because it presents the state of model to human motion detector is controller, because it converts user actions to generic model commands Switch has one private field (On/Off) as a State and two methods (PressOn, PressOff). If you call PressOn when it is Off it goes to On, if you call it again state doesn't change. Bulb can be replaced with buzzer, motion detector with timer or button, but the model still represent the same logic. Eventually system will have same behavior. This is how i understand classical MVC decomposition, please correct me if i am wrong. Now let's decompose it in ASP.Net MVC way. Bulb is still a view Controller will be switch + motion detector Model is some object that will just pass state to bulb. So the logic that defines behavior moves to controller. Question 1: Is my understanding of MVC and ASP.NET MVC correct? Question 2: If yes, do you agree that ASP.NET MVC is not 100% accurate implementation? And back to life. The final question is how to separate model from controller in case of ASP.NET MVC. There can be two extremes. Controller does basic stuff and call model to do all the logic. Another is controller does all the logic and model is just something like class with properties that is mapped to DB. Question 3: Where should i draw the line between this extremes? How to balance? • silverlight security with WCF service, Forms Authentication and Custom Form Ticket

  I have a silverlight application with login on the silverlight page. It uses Forms Authentication with WCF authentication service and customer Membership Provider. Something like : http://blogs.msdn.com/phaniraj/archive/2009/09/10/using-the-ado-net-data-services-silverlight-client-library-in-x-domain-and-out-of-browser-scenarios-ii-forms-authentication.aspx So, SL page login page calls the WCF service authentication service, it validates using DB - brings back username and password. Now, in each subsequent calls (in Global.asax in Authenticate_Request, I get HttpContext.User.IsAuthenticated and HttpContext.User.UserName). I have all this working properly. But, I just don't want the username, but more information surrounding the user, like UserId, UserAddress, UserAssociateCustomer etc. I tried couple of different approaches. 1) Use HttpContext.Cache as a dictionary to save the item and get it off based on httpcontext.user.name, problem is cache can be erased if there memory is being used heavily. 2) Tried CustomFormsAuth Ticket, when forms authentication writes a ticket, I intercept CreatingCookie method and write additional info in formauthentication ticket, so that I can read it in subsequent requests, I am having problems with this approach, I don't find the ticket in subsequent requests. I read about how we should use REsponse.Redirect, but where do I redirect user from WCF call. How do you guys implement the above scenario? Any best practices.? Any issues you see with going on HTTPS? All examples (or most of them) just explains simple forms authentication with "I am logged in message".. Any suggestions ?

• invalid argument IE7 javascript line number changes

  This is the test page: http://www.onebagoneearth.com/ OBOEKindBag (spaces between the pagename and domain because I don't want the URL indexed as such) If you click on one of the thumbnails, or on the main image, you see a popup window, and if you enter a quantity and then click "add to cart" here, in IE7 (and IE6, but I'm not focusing on that as much), you see an invalid argument error with Code:0. The line # changes depending on which item you add to cart! The URL also changes because it depends on this line of javascript: var cartUrl = "/app/site/backend/additemtocart.nl?c=659197&n=2&buyid=" + zbuyid + "&qty=" + zqty + "&" + strOptionId + "=" + zitmId . The strOptionId variable, which contains the bag color type (ie. this changes for the different types of bags, like Kind bags, regular OBOE bags), and the zitmID variable which contains the particular bag color that you've selected (ie. Black), are what change, and also what seem to affect the line number that the invalid argument occurs on. The error definitely doesn't occur in Chrome 4, IE 8, or FF 3.5. Ideas?

• Nginx rewrite for link shortener and Wordpress

  I'm a complete newbie to Nginx, so much so that I followed a online guide to do most of my server setup. I'm trying to learn but I'm still a ways away from understanding it all. So what I'm trying to create is a link shortener that redirects (example.com/x) to (example.com/short.php?id=x). Keep in mind that I'm also running a Wordpress blog on the same domain and plan on using the redirects/shortening for external links. The guide has so far had me add the following rewrites to enable Wordpress pretty URLs: # WordPress pretty URLs: (as per dominiek.com) if (-f $request_filename) { break; } if (-d $request_filename) { break; } rewrite ^(.+)$ /index.php?q=$1 last; # Enable nice permalinks for WordPress: (as per Yawn.it) error_page 404 = //index.php?q=$uri; And if it matters any, it was saved at (/usr/local/nginx/conf/wordpress_params.regular). Additionally, my Wordpress link structure adds "news" to all internal links (example.com/news/post-blah, example.com/news/category, ect.). What's the best way to tackle this setup?

  I have an xml file in a flat structure. We do not control the format of this xml file, just have to deal with it. I've renamed the fields because they are highly domain specific and don't really make any difference to the problem. <attribute name="Title">Book A</attribute> <attribute name="Code">1</attribute> <attribute name="Author"> <value>James Berry</value> <value>John Smith</value> </attribute> <attribute name="Title">Book B</attribute> <attribute name="Code">2</attribute> <attribute name="Title">Book C</attribute> <attribute name="Code">3</attribute> <attribute name="Author"> <value>James Berry</value> </attribute> Key things to note: the file is not particularly hierarchical. Books are delimited by an occurance of an attribute element with name='Title'. But the name='Author' attribute node is optional. Is there a simple xpath statement I can use to find the authors of book 'n'? It is easy to identify the title of book 'n', but the authors value is optional. And you can't just take the following author because in the case of book 2, this would give the author for book 3. I have written a state machine to parse this as a series of elements, but I can't help thinking there would have been a way to directly get the results that I want.

• Fluent NHibernate automap a HasManyToMany using a generic type

  I have a bunch of domain entities that can be keyword tagged (a Tag is also an entity.) I want to do a normal many-to-many (Tag - TagReview <- Review) table relationship but I don't want to have to create a new concrete relationship on both the Entity and Tag every single time I add a new entity. I was hoping to do a generic based Tag and do this: // Tag public class Tag<T> { public virtual int Id { get; private set; } public virtual string Name { get; set; } public virtual IList<T> Entities { get; set; } public Tag() { Entities = new List<T>(); } } // Review public class Review { public virtual string Id { get; private set; } public virtual string Title { get; set; } public virtual string Content { get; set; } public virtual IList<Tag<Review>> Tags { get; set; } public Review() { Tags = new List<Tag<Review>>(); } } Unfortunately I get an exception: ----> System.ArgumentException : Cannot create an instance of FluentNHibernate.Automapping.AutoMapping`1[Example.Entities.Tag`1[T]] because Type.ContainsGenericParameters is true. I anticipate there will be maybe 5-10 entities so mapping normally would be ok but is there a way to do something like this?

• Run AppleScript with Elevated Privileges from Objective C

  I'm attempting to execute an uninstaller (written in AppleScript) through AuthorizationExecuteWithPrivileges. Am I going about this all wrong? I just want to run the equivalent of "sudo /usr/bin/osascript ..." Edit: FWIW, the first line that causes the "execution error" is: set userAppSupportPath to (POSIX path of (path to application support folder from user domain)) However, even with an empty script (on run argv, end run and that's it) I still get the 'gdut' message.

  Hi there, I am reading and doing some RnD on RIA as a solution for a new Silverlight project. I have read alot of the documentation and decided to do a small mockup of a system using .Net RIA Services. I want to know how to get a Single Entity from the Domain Service? example: I want to get a person and populate a form: public Person GetSinglePerson() { return new Person { ID = 4, FirstName = "Cyanide", LastName = "Happiness", Status=3 }; } Say I use the the DomainDataSource: <riaControls:DomainDataSource x:Name="source2" QueryName="GetSinglePersonQuery" AutoLoad="True"> <riaControls:DomainDataSource.DomainContext> <web:DataContext/> </riaControls:DomainDataSource.DomainContext> </riaControls:DomainDataSource> This only returns a EntityCollectionView? How do I bind for example in a form to properties that are in the Person Class? Like: <TextBox Text="{Binding FirstName, ElementName=source2}"/> Everything seems to come back as IEnumerable or as CollectionViews (like the DATA binding in the samples) which aren't useful for a single entity. I want a single persons entry, why do I want a CollectionView in which I cannot access properties directly. I have also use the: LoadOperation<Person> oLoadOperation = oDataContext.Load(oDataContext.GetSinglePersonQuery()); I am very close to giving up on this RIA idea and just going with a normal WCF service as it is more predictable and manageable at this stage.

• HTTP 500 a problem on CAS Server while setting SSLVerifyClent as "required"

  I have 3 server, a Apache Server, a JBOSS Server and a CAS Server for SSO. The Apache Server resolve all request with a domain such as www.request.com, and the path of CAS Server is www.request.com/cas, and JBOSS Server is www.request.com/jboss (This app got a CAS client). My problem is if I set SSLVerifyClient require for the NameVirtualHost of www.request.com in my Apache Server, I got a HTTP 500 error during the redirecting to the JBOSS Server(http://www.request.com/jboss), after logined in the CAS login page successfully. • Dynamically Resizing an Iframe

  Hello All, I can see that this question has been asked several times, but none of the proposed solutions seem to work for the site I am building, so I am reopening the thread. I am attempting to size an iframe based on the height of it's content. Both the page that contains the iframe and it's source page exist on the same domain. I have tried the proposed solutions in each of the following threads: Resize iframe height according to content height in it Resizing an iframe based on content I believe that the solutions above are not working because of when the reference to body.clientHeight is made, the browser has not actually determined the height of the document. Here is the code I am using: var ifmBlue = document.getElementById("ifmBlue"); ifmBlue.onload = resizeIframe; function resizeIframe() { var ifmBlue = document.getElementById("ifmBluePill"); var ifmDiv = ifmBlue.contentDocument.getElementById("main"); var height = ifmDiv.clientHeight; ifmBlue.style.height = (ifmBlue.contentDocument.body.scrollHeight || ifmBlue.contentDocument.body.offsetHeight || ifmBlue.contentDocument.body.parentNode.clientHeight || height || 500) + 5 + 'px'; } If I debug the script using fire debug, the client height of the iframe.contentDocument's main div is 0. Additionally, body.offsetHieght, & body.scrollHeight are 0. However, after the script is finished running, if I inspect the DOM of the HTML iframe element (using fire debug) I can see that the body's clientHeight is 456 and the inner div's clientHeight is 742. This leads me to believe that these values are not yet set when iframe.onload is fired. So, per one of the threads above, I moved the code into the body.onload event handler of the iframe's source page. This solution also did not work. Any help you can provide is much appreciated. • Dependency Injection for objects that require parameters

  All of our reports are created from object graphs that are translated from our domain objects. To enable this, we have a Translator class for each report, and have been using Dependency Injection for passing in dependencies. This worked great, and would yield nice classes structured like this: public class CheckTranslator : ICheckTranslator { public CheckTranslator (IEmployeeService empSvc , IPaycheckService paySvc) { _empSvc = empSvc; _paySvc = paySvc; } public Check CreateCheck() { //do the translation... } } However, in some cases the mapping has many different grouping options. As a result, the c-tor would turn into a mix of class dependencies and parameters. public class CheckTranslator : ICheckTranslator { public CheckTranslator (IEmployeeService empSvc , IPaycheckService paySvc , bool doTranslateStubData , bool doAttachLogo) { _empSvc = empSvc; _paySvc = paySvc; _doTranslateStubData = doTranslateStubData; _doAttachLogo = doAttachLogo; } public Check CreateCheck() { //do the translation... } } Now, we can still test it, but it no longer really works with an IoC container, at least in a clean fashion. Plus, we can no longer call the CreateCheck twice if the settings are different for each check. While I recognize it's a problem, I don't necessarily see the right solution. It seems kind of strange to create a Factory for each class ... or is this the best way?

• How do I get LongVarchar out param from SPROC in ADO.NET 2.0 with SQLAnywhere 10?

  Hi All, I have sproc 'up_selfassessform_view' which has the following parameters: in ai_eqidentkey SYSKEY in ai_acidentkey SYSKEY out as_eqcomments TEXT_STRING out as_acexplanation TEXT_STRING  -  which are domain objects - SYSKEY is 'integer' and TEXT_STRING is 'long varchar'. I can call the sproc fine from iSQL using the following code: create variable @eqcomments TEXT_STRING; create variable @acexamples TEXT_STRING; call up_selfassessform_view (75000146, 3, @eqcomments, @acexamples); select @eqcomments, @acexamples;  - which returns the correct values from the DB (so I know the SPROC is good). I have configured the out param in ADO.NET like so (which has worked up until now for 'integer', 'timestamp', 'varchar(255)', etc): SAParameter as_acexplanation = cmd.CreateParameter(); as_acexplanation.Direction = ParameterDirection.Output; as_acexplanation.ParameterName = "as_acexplanation"; as_acexplanation.SADbType = SADbType.LongVarchar; cmd.Parameters.Add(as_acexplanation); When I run the following code: SADataReader reader = cmd.ExecuteReader(); I receive the following error: Parameter[2]: the Size property has an invalid size of 0. Which (I suppose) makes sense... But the thing is, I don't know the size of the field (it's just "long varchar" it doesn't have a predetermined length - unlike varchar(XXX)). Anyhow, just for fun, I add the following: as_acexplanation.Size = 1000; and the above error goes away, but now when I call: as_acexplanation.Value i get back a string of length = 1000 which is just '\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0...' (\0 repeated 1000 times). So I'm really really stuck... Any help one this one would be much appreciated. Cheers! ;) Tod T.

• Embedding/deploying custom font in .NET app

  Is there an official way to distribute (deploy) a specific font with a .NET application? We have a (public domain) "LED font" that prints numbers with the retro LED instrumentface look. This is a standard True Type or Open Type font like any other except it looks funky. Obviously for that to work, this font needs to be on the user's machine. But we'd prefer to not force the user to "install our special font into your font folder". We'd prefer to either load a Font object directly from the TTF, or programatically install the font so it's available. How do applications handle this sort of things? Eg, I notice Adobe XYZ installs various fonts on the system without user intervention. That's what we'd like to do. EDIT: okay, ideally, we'd prefer not to install the font directly. We don't want our nifty themed LED font showing up in the user's font dropdown in MS Word. We'd prefer to use this font, but restrict its use or appearance to our app. Any way to do this? Thanks!

  I'm trying to use an FtpWebRequest to get the size of a file on a company FTP. Yet whenever I try to get the response an exception is thrown. The StatusDescription of the response says that the operation is "not permitted". Could it be that my office FTP just wont allow for the querying of a file size? I've also tried listing the directory details, which will return the size, and have noticed that my office FTP reports the directory details in a different format then my personal FTP. • Advice on designing and building distributed application to track vehicles

  I'm working on application for tracking vehicles. There will be about 10k or more vehicles. Each will be sending ~250bytes in each minute. Data contains gps location and everything from CAN Bus (every data that we can read from vehicle computer and dashboard). Data are sent by GSM/GPRS (using UDP protocol). Estimated rows with this data per day is ~2000k. I see there 3 main blocks. 1. Multithreaded Socket Server (MSS) - I have it. MSS stores received data to the queue (using NServiceBus). 2. Rule Processor Server (RPS) - this is core of this system. This block is responsible for parsing received data, storing in the database, processing rules, sending messages to Notifier Server (this will be sending e-mails/sms texts). Rule example. As I said between received bytes there will be information about current speed. When speed will be above 120 then: show alert in web application for specified users, send e-mail, send sms text. (There can be more than one instance of RPS). 3. Web application - allows reporting and defining rules by users, monitoring alerts, etc. I'm looking for advice how to design communication between RPS and Web application. Some questions: - Should Web application and RPS have separated databases or one central database will be enough? I have one domain model in web application. If there will be one central database then can I use the same model (objects) on RPS? So, how to send changed rules to RPS? I try to decouple this blocks as much as possible. I'm planning to create different instance of application for each client (each client will have separated database). One client will be have 10k vehicles, others only 100 vehicles.

• setting up 301 redirects: dynamic urls to static urls

  We are currently using a template-based website and are hoping to move to a site with static urls. Our domain will stay the same. I understand that using 301 redirects in a .htaccess file is the preferred method -- and the one that has the highest chance of preserving our google rankings. I am still new at all this and am having a hard time figuring out the proper way to code it all. Over a hundred of our pages are indexed. They all have a similar URL but with different pageIDs: http://www.realestate-bigbear.com/Nav.aspx/Page=%2fPageManager%2fDefault.aspx%2fPageID%3d2020765 Some link out to provided content, ex. /RealEstateNews/Default.aspx Then there are many that flow from the main featured listings page: /ListNow/Default.aspx Down to all the specific properties.. where the PropertyId changes /ListNow/Property.aspx?PropertyID=2048098 would a simple set of codes work... like the following.... redirect 301 /Nav.aspx/Page=%2fPageManager%2fDefault.aspx%2fPageID%3d2020765 www.realestate.bigbear.com/SearchBigBearMLS.htm or do I need to do something entirely different?

  Hi, I have hosted a website. But now my client asks to change it to http://sites.google.com. They hav registered their domain in google. I logged in the site and saw the procedures to create a website from scratch. But is there any way to directly replace the site into google sites. Like, in my site i hav included css files in a folder called stylesheets/css and access it through the link tag. And there are several folders lik that, viz images, scripts etc. 1.Now if i have to transfer it to google sites, where do i create the folders and stuff. I have the priviliges to login to the admin part of the site. 2.And also is there anyway to create database and access it in google sites? 3.Also i see that only html pages can be created. Is there a way to add php pages or other scripting languages? 4.Going forward will google sites be usefull for professional web designing. pls give ideas on whether or not google sites is a good idea to go with

  I would like to know how I can count the number of unique values in a jagged array. My domain object contains a string property that has space delimitered values. class MyObject { string MyProperty; //e.g = "v1 v2 v3" } Given a list of MyObject's how can I determine the number of unique values? The following linq code returns an array of jagged array values. A solution would be to store a temporary single array of items, looped through each jagged array and if values do not exist, to add them. Then a simple count would return the unique number of values. However, was wondering if there was a nicer solution. db.MyObjects.Where(t => !String.IsNullOrEmpty(t.MyProperty)) .Select(t => t.Categories.Split(new char[] { ' ' }, StringSplitOptions.RemoveEmptyEntries)) .ToArray() Below is a more readable example: array[0] = { "v1", "v2", "v3" } array[1] = { "v1" } array[2] = { "v4", "v2" } array[3] = { "v1", "v5" } From all values the unique items are v1, v2, v3, v4, v5. The total number of unique items is 5. Is there a solution, possibly using linq, that returns either only the unique values or returns the number of unique values?

• Business entity: private instance VS single instance

  Suppose my WinForms application has a business entity Order, the entity is used in multiple views, each view handles a different domain or use-case in the application. As an example, one managing orders, the other one digging into one order and displaying additional data. If I'd use nHibernate (or any other ORM) and use one session/dataContext per view (or per db action), I'd end up getting two different instances for the same Order (let's say orderId = 1). Although functionally the same entity, they are technically two different instances. Yes, I could implement Equals/GetHashcode to make them "seem" the same. Why would you go for a single instance per entity vs private instances per view or per use-case? Having single instances has the advantage of sharing INotifyPropertyChanged events, and sharing additional (non-persistent) data. Having a private instance in each view would give you the flexibility of the undo functionality on a view level. In the example above, I'd allow the user to change order details, and give them the flexibility to not save the change. Here, synchronisation between the view/use-case happens on a data persistence level. What would your argument be?

• Replace System.Net.Mail.MailMessage with manually created message and send it

  I am trying to send emails that will bounce to a known mailbox. I plan to use VERP. Unfortunately the System.Net.Mail.MailMessage object does not allow me to precisely set the From: and Sender: headers within my email - it forces the values so that the resulting email contains the phrase 'on behalf of', and does not allow me fine control over the relevant mime headers. I therefore plan to manually write mime email messages directly to the pickup directory so that I can independently control the From and Sender headers. My dev box is a Vista box and therefore does not have an SMTP server. I would like to configure the dev box so that I have an SMTP server running on it. I can then turn off the SMTP server, write messages to the pickup dir, then turn on the SMPT server and see how the individual emails that I have written will behave (some delivered, some bounced to a bounce handler on a different email domain, as dictated by the Sender). Two questions: 1. Can anyone recommend an SMTP server that will monitor a pickup directory? 2. If I set headers as follows; From:[email protected]; Sender:[email protected] then the recipient will see the email as having come from [email protected] ( and won't see any reference to [email protected]), but if the mail bounces then the NDR will be sent to [email protected]). It's a real pain to have to do this, but I can't see any way of using System.Net.Mail.MailMessage without it messing up my headers.

  fHi, I need to build an site with some portal like functionality where an param in the request will indentify the portal. like so http:/domain/controller/action/portal Now my problem is if an portal doesn't exists there must be an redirect to an other site/page and an user can login in to one portal but if the user comes to an other portal the user must be redirected back to the login page for that portal. I have something working now, but i feel like there must be an central place in the pipeline to handle this. My current solution uses an custom action filter which checks the portal param and sees if the portal exists and checks if the user logged on in that portal (the portal the user logged on for is in the authentication cookie). I make my own IIndentiy and IPrincipal in the application_postauthentication event. I have 2 problems with my current approach: 1: It's not really enforced, i have to add the attributes to all controllers and/or actions. 2: The isauthenticated on an user isn't really working, i would like that to work. But for that i need to have access to the params of the route when i create my IPrincipal/IIndenty and i can't seem to find an correct place to do that. Hope someone can give me some pointers, Richard.

  The directory structure: C:/wamp/www/application/model/data_access/data_object.php C:/wamp/www/application/model/users/user.class.php C:/wamp/www/application/controller/projects.php C:/wamp/www/application/controller/links/links.php I have 2 php files data_object.php and user.class.php Now user.class.php has an include statement for data_object.php wchih is relative to user.class.php.These two files are under different directory hierarchy. Now I have to include this user.class.php in various files (like projects.php, links.php-which themselves are under different hierarchy) whenever i want to create a User() object. The problem is the relative path for file inclusion of data_object.php does work for say projects.php but if i open links.php the error message says it could not open file data_object.php in user.class.php. What i think is for relative inclusion of data_object.php it is considering the path of the file in which user.class.php is included. I am facing such problems in more than one scenarios I have to keep my directory structure the way it is but have to find a way to work with nested includes. I used Document root of session it give root path as C:/wamp/www/ i appended the path for data_object.php include but this is not working. (note: the forward slash is present after www) I am currently running on wamp server's localhost but after completion i have to host the solution on a domain. Pls help
