  Greetings, I have the following problem. In my asp.net mvc page (which is a partial view) I create an instance of jsTree as follows: <script type="text/javascript"> $(function() { $("#industries").tree({ callback: { onselect: function(NODE, TREE_OBJ) { $("#SelectedIndustryROWGUID").val($(NODE).attr("id")); $("#resultMessage").append($(NODE).attr("rel")); } }, data: { type: "json", async: true, opts: { method: "GET", url: "/CreateMessage/GetIndustries/" } } }); }); this works fine but then, when I click on any link on the page, it does not work. The links are executed when I choose "open in new tab" option from context menu. Can someone please help me with this?

• Display content in folder like Wordpress displays Themes

  Hi, I’ve throughout the last couple of years downloaded a lot of templates for websites and these are now starting to become chaotic in the different folders so I’m starting to get a overview of the different templates. Regarding to this I was thinking about the way that WordPress displays the different themes installed in the themes folder. It provides a small overview (thumbnail) of the theme and a possibility to preview the theme. Of cause, I don’t need or want such a advanced system as Wordpress but I’m attractive to the idea of displaying my templates in the same kind of manner and without using a Database. I’ve played around with different directory management scripts and tools for PHP but the best result I’ve got so fare is just to display the different content in the different folders but not create a preview which in each preview it will use the webpage itself and it’s stylesheets, images, etc. Does anyone have an idea how to create such a script or have a link to a already existing script. • Handling missing resources

  I've just found myself in situation where I needed to handle exception I'll probably never get, so out of curiosity, let's do a small poll. Do you validate the presence of resources in your programs? I mean, those resources which are installed with your program, like icons, images and similar. Generally, if those are missing, either your install didn't do its job, or the user randomly deleted files in your app. If you do validate the presence, what do you do when the files are not there? Of course, for web apps, you'll have nice 404 page or broken link, but what about the rest? Fail early, yes, but leave handling failures to your compiler, or what?

• Wireless Connected But No Internet Connection (Ubuntu 12.04)

  I am using same network for 2 days and everything was normal. However, today even though it shows me as connected to the network, I do not have internet connection. If I use ethernet cable instead of wireless, I am still able to connect to the internet. Also my friends are able to connect to the wireless network and they can get internet connection. I did not update or install anything since yesterday. Therefore I do not have any idea why it is happening.   Hi, I have query regarding the disposing of an object. The scenario is as follows. In a Desktop Appication, developed in C#, I have a function in which a object in created like this. namespace Class 1 { variables section; .... .... Function1() { local variables; try { Object1 obj = new Object1(); .... .... if(true) { .... } else { **obj.Dispose();** } } catch() {} finally {} } } The object is not disposed when the else part is executed.   Hello, We are soon to get VS2010 and according to the link below, Microsoft do not support VS2010 on XP x64. http://www.microsoft.com/visualstudio/en-us/products/2010-editions/professional/system-requirements Does anyone have XP 64bit running VS2010? I am not interested in 64bit version of VS (I am wanting to install a 32bit version of VS2010 professional on a 64 bit XP machine). I am aware that XP will require SP3. Any warnings? Horror stories? Advice?

• Unable to use Client Application Services with custom MembershipProvider.

  Hi, I have a Windows-Forms Application that I configured to use with an ASP.NET Service that is an Authentication service using a custom MembershipProvider. When I call Membership.CreateUser in the Windows Application a NotSupportedException is thrown telling: "Specified method is not supported.". I tried creating a web page in the website and test the MembershipProvider, everything works just fine when woeking from within the website. Any ideas or link for how to use custom (not SqlMembershipProvider) MembershipProvider will be really appreciated! Edit: The method ValidateUser does work. The overriden CreateUser doesn't work I tried Override Sub CreateUser(.......) As MembershipUser Return New User() End Sub But I still get the same excetption as before.

  New to objective-c xcode and core-data so sorry for the remedial question. I have set up a very simple data model: Entity1 and Entity2, both contain a single attribute (String) and a one-to-many relationship with the other. I want to scan Entity1 and depending on the results of the scan create one or more Entity2 objects that link to Entity1. How can I do this? I don’t understand how I create Entity2 type objects in code and how I would define the relationship to the Entity1 object they are related to. I come from a SQL programming background where inserting elements into the Entity2 table with the ID of the related Entiry1 entry is easy. I can’t get my head around the xcode core-data abstraction and would appreciate any help.

  Hello, I have a Java app, connecting through TCP socket to a "server" developed in C/C++. both app & server are running on the same machine, a Solaris box (but we're considering migrating to Linux eventually). type of data exchanged is simple messages (login, login ACK, then client asks for something, server replies). each message is around 300 bytes long. Currently we're using Sockets, and all is OK, however I'm looking for a faster way to exchange data (lower latency), using IPC methods. I've been researching the net and came up with references to the following technologies: - shared memory - pipes - queues but I couldn't find proper analysis of their respective performances, neither how to implement them in both JAVA and C/C++ (so that they can talk to each other), except maybe pipes that I could imagine how to do. can anyone comment about performances & feasibility of each method in this context ? any pointer / link to useful implementation information ? thanks for your help

  A fellow developer recently showed me a blog post with a nice visual representation of a git layout. He implied that this particular strategy was gaining a lot of popularity, but numerous searches here and through the Google have yet to turn up the blog post. The gist of it was that you had a trunk for main development, and a "side-trunk" for immediate customer-driven bug fixes. Main development had a branch, which was merged to trunk periodically for major releases, and then you had feature branches. There was a lovely diagram that clearly showed all this. Since I'd like to learn git better, I'd love to have that diagram available as an aide. It'd also be useful as a visual for trying to convince coworkers to switch to git. Does anyone happen to know what I'm talking about and can provide a link?

  Hello, here is my dilemma. I have two worksheets one that has the name of clients and one that i want to copy the names to depending on the city. For instance: associated to each column is last name, first name and city. i have hundreds of names associated to different cities and what i would like is from worksheet1.xls to copy all the New York clients to worksheet2.xls either when i open worksheet2 or via macro what ever is easier and because last name is in one cell and the first name is in the other i would have to copy both. I saw that its possible to link cells from one worksheet to another and then do a vlookup depending on the criteria. • Is there a way to rewrite a url to go to a file stored in the filefield of the node

  I have a custom content-type called 'document' On this content-type, I have a File field where a user can upload a document. Assume the path to a document node is /somesite/document/tester I would like to be able to link to /somesite/document/tester/file and it automatically go to the file that is uploaded to the file field of the node. I have tried the url_alter module and am able to get the correct url of the document but when it tries to go there, it says not found. It seems that my redirection is still trying to be rewritten with pathauto or something. Ulitamtely, we want to have a consistent url for these documents so that a user can upload a replacement document and we can still use the same urls. Any ideas?

  I'm looking for some LaTeX template for creating quality output. On R-bloggers I've bumped on Frank Harrel's Rreport package. Due to my, quite modest LaTeX abilities, only user-friendly (and noob-friendly) interface should suffice. Here's a link to an official website. I'm following the instructions, but I cannot manage to install an app. I use Ubuntu 9.10, R version is 2.10.1 (updated regularly from UCLA's CRAN server)... of course, cvs is installed on my sistem. Now, I'd like to know is there some user-friendly LaTeX template package (Sweave is still to advanced/spartan for me). I'm aware that my question is quite confounding, but brief glance on examples on Rreport page should give you a hint. I'm aware that LaTeX skills are a must, but just for now I need something that will suite my needs (as a psychological researcher). Is there any pandan for Rreport package?

  I am attempting to make a view that would list thumbnails of my projects, then when clicking them enlarge the photo using lightbox and list out some text and a link to the website. I am not sure if there is a way I can just add text to the lightbox using views so right now I have it using a field for Lightbox2 iframe: thumb200wh-node page. • Is using the keyword var bad in C# 2.0?

  I read an article about using C# 3 features in C# 2 where you can for instance type var x = 2; and even if the project is a 2.0 project, the Visual Studio 2008 compiler picks it up and generates the same code as it would if you type int x = 2. But what I don't get is, should you not do this in some cases? I always thought that the var keyword didn't arrive until C# 3.. If the compiler generates the same code and I can type C# 3 code and C# 2 code exactly the same, what is the differance really, because the CLI is the same, right? Quote from the link above Behind the scenes, the compiler generate regular .NET 2.0 code. Is there any difference between .NET 2.0 code and .NET 3 code?

  Hi, I was working on a Silverlight + WCF application. One fine day when I opened the Website in Visual Studio 2008, it gave me an error "Error 99 It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level. This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application in IIS. D:\IVY\AdminWCFWorking\AdminWCFWorking\AdminWCF\AdminWCF.Web\Web.config 46" I have 3 folders in the application. Each having different functionalities. I could find that these folders are not configured as application and hence the Visual Studio Web Server is throwing this error. I also found a way out for this, which said that I need to right click on these folders and select properties and do something, but at first place, when I right click the folder, when in VS, I cannot find the properties link! Can anyone please help me on removing this error. Thank You

• VC7.1 C1204 internal compiler error

  I'm working on modifying Firaxis' Civilization 4 core game DLL. The host application is built using VC7, hence the constraint (source not provided for the host EXE). I've been working on rewriting a large chunk of the code (focusing on low-hanging performance issues & memory leaks). I recently ran into an internal compiler error when trying to mod the code to use an array class instead of dynamically allocated 2-d arrays, I was going to use matrices from the boost lib (Civ4 is already using boost, so why not?). Basically, the issue comes down to: if I include "boost/numeric/ublas/matrix.hpp", I run into an internal compiler error C1204. MSDN has this to say: MSDN C1204 KB has this to say: KB 883655 So, I'm curious, is it possible to solve this error without a KB/SP being applied and dramatically reducing the complexity of the code? Additionally, as VC7 is no longer "supported", does anyone have a valid (supported) link for a VC7 service pack?

• How to embed images in a single HTML / PHP file?

  Hi, I am creating a lightweight, single-file database administration tool and I would like to bundle some small icons with it. What is the best way to embed images in a HTML/PHP file? I know a method using PHP where I would call the same file with a GET parameter that would output hardcoded binary data with the correct header, but that seems a bit complicated. Can I use something to pass the image directly in a CSS background-image declaration? This would allow me to utilize the CSS sprite technique. Browser support isn't an issue here, so more exotic methods are welcome also. EDIT Does someone have a link/example to how to generate Data URL's properly with PHP? I'd figure echo 'data:image/png;base64,'.base64_encode(file_get_contents('image.png')) would suffice but I could be wrong.
