  • Why is my mouse lagging?

    Don't remember this from earlier, but my mouse is lagging when I refresh specific websites in Chrome and Firefox. I can't observe such lags with Internet Explorer. Here's a video i made I tested with AIDA64 and sometimes noticed very little and short lags. Here's a second video Any thoughts?   • unable to connect site to different port

    I have a domain was registered at godaddy named http://mysite.com/. I logged into godaddy and I went to All Products Domains Domain Management. I clicked on the appropriate domain and it took me to the Domain Details page. I clicked Launch under DNS Manager and it took me to the Zone File Editor. I noticed that notify.mysite.com was pointing to an IP address pointing to a dead server, so I switched it to an operating server. Then I pinged the domain to see where it was pointing to and it was correctly pointing to the working server. So I copied the default configuration under sites-available: sudo cp default notify.mysite.com. And then I made some edits to it to have it point to a different document root to serve files at a different port: Listen 1740 Listen 64.135.xx.xxx:1740 #I also tried this as well: NameVirtualHost 64.135.xx.xxx:1740 <VirtualHost 64.135.xx.xxx:1740> ServerAdmin [email protected] ServerName notify.mysite.com DocumentRoot /var/www/test/public <Directory /var/www/test/public> Order allow,deny allow from all </Directory> ErrorLog ${APACHE_LOG_DIR}/error.log LogLevel warn CustomLog ${APACHE_LOG_DIR}/access.log combined </VirtualHost> Then I enabled the virtual host. Then I went to the document root and added an index.html file with some text in it. Then I restarted apache. The restart gave no errors. Then I type the correct domain in URL: http://notify.mysite.com:1740/ and I get: Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to notify.mysite.com:1740 Somehow it took out all my other sites. Now even the ones that were responding on port 80 are no longe responding, even though I did not touch the virtual hosts for them. I get this message now: Oops!     OS: windows XP SP3 While listening to Pandora in Chrome, the CPU usage is almost to 100% for a single core in CPU. Is there any way to reduce CPU usage? Either by using another browser, any plugins that reduce flash CPU usage, or like in Linux, there's a lightweight client - Pithos for Pandora. Thanks.

  • Firefox loses connection

    Hi I am using Firefox 3.5.2 and it normally works fine but then randomly it will lose connection for a few minutes, just stalling and acting as though the page is loading. I can still use Chrome and IE but FF just sits there without doing anything, not even showing the 404 or connection timeout page. Does anyone else have this problem and do they have a solution?

  • Making CTRL+(mouse scroll) work with word 2007 for zooming?

    I am using Word 2007 and am trying to use the combo: Ctrl + mouse scroll To zoom in and out of the doc. This function works fine in other programs (like google-chrome) Is there a place to fix this ? edit: I found out that when I scroll the mouse FAST the desired effect happens. I would like it to also work with slower scrolling. The thing is also that on any other program - the scrolling acts as normal. (so this is not a system wide preference)

    I currently have the Buttons on other taskbars set so Never combine So I can have multiple Chrome windows open and will see multiple Chromes on the taskbar. Now the problem is that sometimes I don't really know which one I'm currently looking at. Is there a way to have the active application take on a different color or some other indication that it's the active window. To clarify I don't need the title bar of the application to be a different color, just the "button" that shows up on the taskbar This is for windows 8

    I can't seem to get the ASP.NET engine to handle ALL wildcard mapping. When I try to make a request that is supposed to be handled by the asp.net engine, i get a 404 error from the StaticFile handler Here is the content of my web.config file.   • Why is my WCF Rest Service on IIS7 Authenticating TWICE!?!?

    Ok, if someone could shed some light on this for me, I would greatly appreciate it. So here we go. I had a rest service running fine the other day but after I accidentally overwrote the web.config all hell broke loose. I've spent the past day and a half trying to sort things out but I can't seem to figure out what is missing or misplaced. So, I've designed this service around WCF Rest Contrib (http://wcfrestcontrib.codeplex.com)'s authentication process. Now, I can get this working fine on my localhost w/ the current web.config (minus the endpoint entry) but once I upload it to discountasp and select "basic authorization" in the ISS7 Manager, it appears that I'm getting authenticated twice! Once using my discount asp.net user/pass and then the next time using the application user/pass. Unfortunately I only provide one set of credentials and don't want to hard code my discountasp account info into the app. Like I said before, this worked fine a few days ago. I thought this was strange, so I looked at fiddler and saw something interesting. Whenever I try request a procedure with [OperationAuthentication] defined and provide my discountasp.net username/pass I get two different "WWW-Authenticate" headers back in Fiddler: WWW-Authenticate: Basic realm="MyRESTServiceRealm" WWW-Authenticate: Basic realm="www.mydomain.com" On the other hand, if I try to access the same procedures with only my application's user/pass, I only get the site's header: WWW-Authenticate: Basic realm="www.mydomain.com" My hypothesis is that for some reason I'm having to pass through the default "Basic Authorization" layer set by IIS before I can get to the application's "Custom Basic Authorization" layer. After verifying this by created an identical user/pass for my service that I use for my discountasp.net account, I was able to successfully pass both layers of authentication without any issues... so I think I can conclude that this is indeed the issue. Now how do I disable the default one? Do I need to do this in the IIS Manager, or in the web.config? Anyway, I have absolutely no idea how this is possible or what I need to do to resolve the issue, but I know that something is seriously out of whack. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!     Hi, I want to develop my own REST service, so I've created a HttpHandler that is configured with verb="" and path="", the the application in "~/MyRESTsrv/" will handle any derivated URL. This approach works good in IIS7 with "integrated mode" and apparently in IIS6 if you map all the extensions to "aspnet_isapi.dll". Is this possible in Apache/XSP with Mono? Do I have to do something special or it will work out of the box? Cheers.

    I have just installed the GDR RTM version of Visual Studio Team System Database Edition GDR RTM. It all seems to work wonderfully, but I seem to have to edit XML (Database.sqlpermissions) for specify SQL Permissions. Am I missing something? For that matter where is the schema diagram tool? I understand GDR exposes alot for extending the Database Edition components, so am I supposed to wait for third party extensions to provide the diagram tool and permissions designer?
