• ClassNotFoundException error in implementing Bayesian algorithm in Apache Mahout on Hadoop

  Hi, I have a problem in executing the Bayesian algorithm in Mahout. I built it with Maven and the job file is in target directory. When run from terminal using hadoop, I'm getting the ClassNotFoundException error. • Protected Members of Other Instances in Scala

  I just ran into a difficulty while learning Scala. I have an inheritance hierarchy that is essentially equivalent to this: class A { protected def myMethod() = println("myMethod() from A") } class B extends A { def invokeMyMethod(a: A) = a.myMethod() } But trying to compile this sample, I get the error "test.scala:7: error: method myMethod cannot be accessed in A". Coming from Java, my understanding is that protected members should be accessible at any point from a derived class, and nowhere have I seen anything that tells me that protected members in Scala are limited by instance. Does anyone have an explanation for this?

But there is one thing that bothers me, which is my Mac partition volume is losing space slowly and gradually. I am pretty sure there are a lot of orphaned temporary files laying around in the volume. I know where to find the obsoleted temp files in my Windows partition, how about in Mac OSX?

Should I call self.all() in count_music() function of MusicManager to query only on elements with 'Music' category or do I still need to filter through them in search for category first ?

  Hi All, I'm trying to build a controller like this: @RequestMapping(method = {RequestMethod.GET}, value = "/users/detail/activities.do") public View foo(@RequestParam(value = "userCash", defaultValue="0.0") Double userCash) { System.out.println("foo userCash=" + userCash); } This works fine: http://localhost/app/users/detail/activities.do?userCash=123& but in this one userCash==null despite the default value http://localhost/app/users/detail/activities.do?userCash=& From some digging it seems like the first one works b/c of a Editor binding like this: binder.registerCustomEditor(Double.class, new CustomNumberEditor(Double.class, false)); The trouble is that the second param (ie false) defines whether blank values are allowed. If i set that to true, than the system considers the blank input as valid so i get a null Double class. If i set it to false then the system chokes on the blank input string with: org.springframework.beans.TypeMismatchException: Failed to convert value of type 'java.lang.String' to required type 'double'; nested exception is java.lang.NumberFormatException: empty String Does anyone know how to get the defaultValue to work for Doubles?   I'm creating proxies with javassist ProxyFactory. When creating a single proxy all works fine. However, when I pass a proxied class to the proxying mechanism, it fails with javassist.bytecode.DuplicateMemberException: duplicate method: setHandler in com.mypackage.Bean_$$_javassist_0_$$_javassist_1 I'm creating the proxies with this: public Object createProxiedInstance(Object originalInstance) throws Exception { Class<?> originalClass = instance.getClass(); ProxyFactory factory = new ProxyFactory(); factory.setSuperclass(originalClass); factory.setHandler(new MethodHandler() {..}); Class<T> proxyClass = factory.createClass(); return proxyClass.newInstance(); } So, how do I create proxies of proxies? Update: The actual problems is that each proxy implements the ProxyObject which defines setHandler(..) method. So the 2nd proxy is trying to redefine the method, instead of overriding it in the subclass.

  Most of the code I've written in .NET to make REST calls have been synchronous. Since Silverlight on Windows Phone only supports Async WebClient and HttpWebRequest calls, I was wondering what a good async pattern is for a Class that exposes methods that make REST calls. For example, I have an app that needs to do the following. Login and get token Using token from #1, get a list of albums Using token from #1 get a list of categories etc my class exposes a few methods: Login() GetAlbums() GetCategories() since each method needs to call WebClient using Async calls what I need to do is essentially block calling Login till it returns so that I can call GetAlbums(). What is a good way to go about this in my class that exposes those methods?

  The C# spec states that an argument type cannot be both covariant and contravariant at the same time. This is apparent when creating a covariant or contravariant interface you decorate your type parameters with "out" or "in" respectively. There is not option that allows both at the same time ("outin"). Is this limitation simply a language specific constraint or are there deeper, more fundamental reasons based in category theory that would make you not want your type to be both covariant and contravariant? • Get corresponding physical disk drives of mountpoints with WMI queries?

  Is there a way to retrieve a connection between a mountpoint (a volume which is mounted into the file system instead of mounted to a drive letter) and its belonging physical disk drive(s) with WMI? For example I have got a volume mountpoint on a W2K8 server which is mounted to “C:\Data\” and the mountpoint is spreaded on the physical disk drives 2, 4, and 5 of the server (the Data Management of the Server Manager shows that) but I cannot find a way to get this to know by using WMI. Volumes which have got a drive letter can be connected with the WMI-Classes Win32_DiskDrive -- Win32_DiskDriveToDiskPartition -- Win32_DiskPartition -- Win32_LogicalDiskToPartition -- Win32_LogicalDisk – but the problem is, that volume mountpoints aren’t listed in the class Win32_LogicalDisk, they are only listed in Win32_Volume. And I did not find a way to connect the class Win32_Volume with the class Win32_DiskDrive – there are missing some linking classes. Does anyone know a solution?

I created a class diagram where i have a class Train {Id, Name, Details} And a class RollingStock which is than generalized in Locomotive and FreightWagon. A train is Composed by multiple RollingStock at a certain time(on different days the rolling stock will compose a different train). I represented the relationship train - rolling stock as a diamond filled (UML) but still I have a many to many relationship between the two tables. so i guess i have to create an additional table to solve the many to many relationship train_RollingStock. but how do i represent the Composition? Can i still use the filled diamond? If yes on which side? Thanks

• Using CSS Classes for individual effects - opinions?

  Hey, Just trying to canvas some opinions here. I was wondering how people go about adding individual effects to html elements. Take this example: you have three types of h1 titles all the same size but some are black some are gold and some are white. Some have a text-shadow etc. Would you create separate CSS classes and add them do the h1 tag or would you create a new single class for each different h1 title type (with grouped CSS elements)? With singular class for each effect you can build up combos of classes in html class="gold shadow" but also how would you name them. For example its bad practice to give classes and id names associated to colours, because it doesn't define what it does well. However is this ok with textual CSS classes? Just wondering what others do, I know there are no hard and fast rules. Cheers.

And I run my query with "wbemtest.exe" tool which is installed with Windows, and the same error there is. I checked the CIM_PCIController Class on MSDN and it seems my code is ok. • Loading an external SWF App in a new Air window with resize functionality

  Hello everyone, i'm trying to load a local SWF Application in my Air Application via the SWFLoader class. The SWFLoader class is displayed in a new Window. Therefore, i'm trying to resize the window automatically, when the Flash Application is resizing. But here's the problem. The SWFLoader does not get any events when the loader App has been resized. The Problem seems to be the Sandbox Restrictions. I'm able to call methods in the childSandboxBridge and parentSandboxBridge Objects that i've set in the LoaderInfo of the SWFLoaders content (the loaded SWF Application). But i cannot listen to any ResizeEvents or something like that when i'm resizing the loaded App. I'm aware of the workaround with the Loader Class and the codeExecution Property, but i don't want to bypass the Air Sandbox - if possible. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks in advance

  Currently, I have an HQL query that returns all Members who possess ANY Award from a set of specified Awards: from Member m left join m.awards as a where a.name in ("Trophy","Ribbon"); What I now need is HQL that will return all Members who possess ALL Awards specified in the set of Awards. So, assuming this data: Joe has Trophy, Medal Sue has Trophy, Ribbon Tom has Trophy, Ribbon, Medal The query above would return Joe, Sue, and Tom because all three possess at least one of Trophy or Ribbon. But I need to return only Sue and Tom, because they are the only ones who possess all of the specified awards (Trophy and Ribbon).
