  • Performance Problem with Clojure Array

    - by dbyrne
    This piece of code is very slow. Execution from the slime-repl on my netbook takes a couple minutes. Am I doing something wrong? (def test-array (make-array Integer/TYPE 400 400 3)) (doseq [x (range 400), y (range 400), z (range 3)] (aset test-array x y z 0))

  • jquery split() and indexOf results in "Object doesn't support this property or method"

    - by chris
    I have the following code: var selected = $('#hiddenField').val().split(","); ... if (selected.indexOf(id) > 0) { ... set value ... } I'm dynamically creating a CheckBoxList, and trying to remember the state of the checkboxes by putting the selected IDs into the hidden field. I get an error stating that "Object doesn't support this property or method". My assumption is that selected is an array, which should support indexOf. Is that incorrect?

  • java shift elements in array

    - by Lightk3ira
    Hey I am trying to shift elements forward sending the last element in the array to data[0]. I did the opposite direction but I can't seem to find my mistake in going in this direction. Pos is users inputed shift times amount temp is the temporary holder. data is the array if(pos 0) { do { temp = data[data.length -1]; for(int i =0; i < data.length; i++) { if(i == data.length-1) { data[0] = temp; } else { data[i+1] = data[i]; } } pos--; }while(pos > 0); } Thanks.

  • using usort to re-arrange multi-dimension array

    - by Thomas Bennett
    I have a large array: [0] => stdClass Object ( [products] => Array ( [0] => stdClass Object ( [body_html] => bodyhtml [published_at] => 2012-12-16T23:59:18+00:00 [created_at] => 2012-12-16T11:30:24+00:00 [updated_at] => 2012-12-18T10:52:14+00:00 [vendor] => Name [product_type] => type ) [1] => stdClass Object ( [body_html] => bodyhtml [published_at] => 2012-12-16T23:59:18+00:00 [created_at] => 2012-12-16T10:30:24+00:00 [updated_at] => 2012-12-18T10:52:14+00:00 [vendor] => Name [product_type] => type ) ) ) and I need to arrange each of the products by the date they where created... I've tried and failed all kinds of usort, ksort, uksort techniques to try and get it to be in a specific order (chronological) but failed! any guidance would be most appreciated

  • PHP Array saved to Text file

    - by coffeemonitor
    I've saved a response from an outside server to a text file, so I don't need to keep running connection requests. Instead, perhaps I can use the text file for my manipulation purposes, until I'm read for re-connecting again. (also, my connection requests are limited to this outside server) Here is what I've saved to a text file: records.txt Array ( [0] => stdClass Object ( [id] => 552 [date_created] => 2012-02-23 10:30:56 [date_modified] => 2012-03-09 18:55:26 [date_deleted] => 2012-03-09 18:55:26 [first_name] => Test [middle_name] => [last_name] => Test [home_phone] => (123) 123-1234 [email] => [email protected] ) [1] => stdClass Object ( [id] => 553 [date_created] => 2012-02-23 10:30:56 [date_modified] => 2012-03-09 18:55:26 [date_deleted] => 2012-03-09 18:55:26 [first_name] => Test [middle_name] => [last_name] => Test [home_phone] => (325) 558-1234 [email] => [email protected] ) ) There's actually more in the Array, but I'm sure 2 are fine. Since this is a text file, and I want to pretend this is the actual outside server (sending me the same info), how do I make it a real array again? I know I need to open the file first: <?php $fp = fopen('records.txt', "r"); // open the file $theData = fread($fh, filesize('records.txt')); fclose($fh); echo $theData; ?> So far $theData is a string value. Is there a way to convert it back to the Array it originally came in as?

  • Storing strings from a text file/scanner. Array or built-in?

    - by Flowdorio
    This code snippet is to to read a text file, turn the lines into objects through a different public (non changeable) class(externalClass). The external class does nothing but turn strings (lines from the .txt through nextLine) into objects, and is fully functional. The scanner(scanner3) is assigned to the text file. while (scanner3.hasNext()) { externalClass convertedlines = new externalClass(scanner3.nextLine()); I'm not new to programming, but as I'm new to java, I do not know if this requires me to create an array, or if the returned objects are sorted in some other way. i.e is the "importedlines" getting overwritten with each run of the loop(and I need to introduce an array into the loop), or are the objects stored in some way? The question may seem strange, but with the program I am making it would be harder (but definitely not impossible) if I used an array. Any help would be appreciated. As requested, externalClass: public class exernalClass { private String line; externalClass(String inLine){ line = inLine; } public String giveLine() { return line; } }

  • Formatting associative array declaration

    - by Drew Stephens
    When declaring an associative array, how do you handle the indentation of the elements of the array? I've seen a number of different styles (PHP syntax, since that's what I've been in lately). This is a pretty picky and trivial thing, so move along if you're interested in more serious pursuits. 1) Indent elements one more level: $array = array( 'Foo' => 'Bar', 'Baz' => 'Qux' ); 2) Indent elements two levels: $array = array( 'Foo' => 'Bar', 'Baz' => 'Qux' ); 3) Indent elements beyond the array constructor, with closing brace aligned with the start of the constructor: $array = array( 'Foo' => 'Bar', 'Baz' => 'Qux' ); 4) Indent elements beyond the array construct, with closing brace aligned with opening brace: $array = array( 'Foo' => 'Bar', 'Baz' => 'Qux' ); Personally, I like #3—the broad indentation makes it clear that we're at a break point in the code (constructing the array), and having the closing brace floating a bit to the left of all of the array's data makes it clear that this declaration is done.

  • NSArray containObjects method

    - by Anthony Chan
    Hi, I have a simple question regarding xcode coding but don't know why things are not performing as I think. I have an array of objects (custom objects). I just want to check if this one is within the array. I used the following code: NSArray *collection = [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects:A, B, C, nil]; //custom "Item" objects Item *tempItem = [[Fruit alloc] initWithLength:1 width:2 height:3]; //3 instance variables in "Item" objects if([collection containsObject:tempItem]) { NSLog(@"collection contains this item"); } I suppose the above checking will give me a positive result but it's not. Further, I checked whether the objects created are the same. NSLog(@"L:%i W:%i H:%i", itemToCheck.length, itemToCheck.width, itemToCheck.height); for (int i = 0, i < [collection count], i++) { Item *itemInArray = [collection objectAtIndex:i]; NSLog(@"collection contains L:%i W:%i H:%i", itemInArray.length, itemInArray.width, itemInArrayheight); } In the console, this is what I got: L:1 W:2 H:3 collection contains L:0 W:0 H:0 collection contains L:1 W:2 H:3 collection contains L:6 W:8 H:2 Obviously the tempItem is inside the collection array but nothing shows up when I use containsObject: to check it. Could anyone give me some direction which part I am wrong? Thanks a lot!

  • C++ Initialize array in constructor EXC_BAD_ACCESS

    - by user890395
    I'm creating a simple constructor and initializing an array: // Construtor Cinema::Cinema(){ // Initalize reservations for(int i = 0; i < 18; i++){ for(int j = 0; j < 12; j++){ setReservation(i, j, 0); } } // Set default name setMovieName("N/A"); // Set default price setPrice(8); } The setReservation function: void Cinema::setReservation(int row, int column, int reservation){ this->reservations[row][column] = reservation; } The setMovieName function: void Cinema::setMovieName(std::string movieName){ this->movieName = movieName; } For some odd reason when I run the program, the setMovieName function gives the following error: "Program Received Signal: EXC_BAD_ACCESS" If I take out the for-loop that initializes the array of reservations, the problem goes away and the movie name is set without any problems. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? This is the Cinema.h file: #ifndef Cinema_h #define Cinema_h class Cinema{ private: int reservations[17][11]; std::string movieName; float price; public: // Construtor Cinema(); // getters/setters int getReservation(int row, int column); int getNumReservations(); std::string getMovieName(); float getPrice(); void setReservation(int row, int column, int reservation); void setMovieName(std::string movieName); void setPrice(float price); }; #endif

  • Dynamic allocated array is not freed

    - by Stefano
    I'm using the code above to dynamically allocate an array, do some work inside the function, return an element of the array and free the memory outside of the function. But when I try to deallocate the array it doesn't free the memory and I have a memory leak. The debugger pointed to the myArray variable shows me the error CXX0030. Why? struct MYSTRUCT { char *myvariable1; int myvariable2; char *myvariable2; .... }; void MyClass::MyFunction1() { MYSTRUCT *myArray= NULL; MYSTRUCT *myElement = this->MyFunction2(myArray); ... delete [] myArray; } MYSTRUCT* MyClass::MyFunction2(MYSTRUCT *array) { array = (MYSTRUCT*)operator new(bytesLength); ... return array[X]; }

  • foreach with an array of stdclass objects

    - by Jared Steffen
    So, what I want to do is quite simple in my mind. I have an array that consists solely of four objects. I want to create a loop that will echo an attribute of each object in the array. The only success I've had, however, is echoing every object and every property of the objects. I've never dealt with objects so this is probably the TRUE root of the problem. There's been a few revisions but the only thing I've really excelled at is creating error codes. Here is what I have: $categories = get_categories(array('child_of' => '8')); foreach ($categories as $cat) { echo $cat->name; };

  • Numpy array dimensions

    - by cristian
    Hello, I'm currently trying to learn Numpy and Python. Given the following array: import numpy as N a = N.array([[1,2],[1,2]]) Is there a function that returns the dimensions of a (e.g.a is a 2 by 2 array). size() returns 4 and that doesn't help very much. Thanks.

  • Can't seem to get .Union to work (merging 2 array's together, exclude duplicates)

    - by D. Veloper
    I want to combine two array's, excluding duplicates. I am using a custom class: public class ArcContact : IEquatable<ArcContact> { public String Text; public Boolean Equals(ArcContact other) { if (Object.ReferenceEquals(other, null)) return false; if (Object.ReferenceEquals(this, other)) return true; return Text.Equals(other.Text); } public override Int32 GetHashCode() { return Text == null ? 0 : Text.GetHashCode(); } } I implemented and the needed IEquatable interface as mentioned in this msdn section. I only want to check the Text property of the ArcContact class and make sure an Array of ArcContact have an unique Text. Here I pasted the code that I use, as you can see I have method with two parameters, array's to combine and below that the code I got from the previous mentioned msdn section. internal static class ArcBizz { internal static ArcContact[] MergeDuplicateContacts(ArcContact[] contacts1, ArcContact[] contacts2) { return (ArcContact[])contacts1.Union(contacts2); } internal static IEnumerable<T> Union<T>(this IEnumerable<T> a, IEnumerable<T> b); } What am I doing wrong?

  • How to convert List<int> to string[]?

    - by George Edison
    I need an easy way to convert a List<int> to a string array. I have: var the_list = new List<int>(); the_list.Add(1); the_list.Add(2); the_list.Add(3); string[] the_array = new string[the_list.Count]; for(var i = 0 ; i < the_array.Count; ++i) the_array[i] = the_list[i].ToString(); ...which looks to be very ugly to me. Is there an easier way? Note: I'm looking for an easier way - not necessarily a faster way.
