    I am attempting to build a Debian package using pdebuild on my main development server (running Debian wheezy).     I am building Apache server 2.4.6 from source and am not sure about a few warning messages I received during the rpm build process. The build completes OK and everything seems fine..BTW, this is on CentOS 5.5... During the make process: /home/johnm/dev/project1/install/linux/BUILD/httpd-2.4.6/srclib/apr/libtool --silent --mode=install install mod_authn_file.la /home/johnm/dev/project1/install/linux/tmp/usr/local/apache2/modules/ libtool: install: warning: remember to run `libtool --finish /usr/local/apache2/modules' What is this warning message about?? remember to run libtool --finish ?? Also, I see this: libtool: install: warning: `/home/johnm/dev/project1/install/linux/BUILD/httpd-2.4.6/srclib/apr-util/libaprutil-1.la' has not been installed in `/usr/local/apache2/lib' I am building Apache in a temp directory but libtools seems to be looking in the wrong place (/usr/local/apache2/lib instead of /home/johnm/dev/project1/install/linux/tmp/usr/local/apache2/lib). This seems like something I can blow off?? In my specfile I set DESTDIR to /home/johnm/dev/project1/install/linux/tmp where the install files are placed: %install export DESTDIR=%{buildroot} make install Both messages appear numerous times during the make process. When I install the rpm on the system, everything appears to work without problems..Thinking I can ignore these messages??? or am I missing something important??

    I am an experienced asp.net developer and asp.net mvc and I have my own CMS that I have written but starting to think there should be another approach. When someone asks you to develop them a website how do you develop it so that they can add pictures,slideshows, content, news items, diary events. On a side note do you give them a design for the home page and inner page and thats it. I'm just thinking if they turn around and say 6 months down the line I want a jquery slideshow on the right hand side of this page how do you or CMS's handle it?

    With pure SQL - how to do it? I doubt it is possible, since even the SQL Management Studio fails to show the size of such a database in the UI. Already tried: exec sp_helpdb 'DbInRecMode' ...won't show anything; exec sys.sp_helpfile 'DbInRecMode' ... something like file not found (Msg 15325) Main pitfall seems to be the issue, that select * from DbInRecMode.dbo.sysfiles won't work when the database is in restoring mode. Any ideas?

  • tomcat 6 start mode setting for production [windows]

    Tomcat 6 (as a windows service) seems to have a 'Start Mode' with options of 'java, jvm or exe' which can be set via the Tomcat Monitor (system tray icon). if I set this to 'java', I can see a forked 'java.exe' process for tomcat, if I chose either of the other two, I dont see a separate process. Anyway, would like to know if anyone has any information about what these settings mean and which one would be most appropriate in production.

  • How to build a "traffic AI"?

    A project I am working on right now features a lot of "traffic" in the sense of cars moving along roads, aircraft moving aroun an apron etc. As of now the available paths are precalculated, so nodes are generated automatically for crossings which themselves are interconnected by edges. When a character/agent spawns into the world it starts at some node and finds a path to a target node by means of a simply A* algorithm. The agent follows the path and ultimately reaches its destination. No problem so far. Now I need to enable the agents to avoid collisions and to handle complex traffic situations. Since I'm new to the field of AI I looked up several papers/articles on steering behavior but found them to be too low-level. My problem consists less of the actual collision avoidance (which is rather simple in this case because the agents follow strictly defined paths) but of situations like one agent leaving a dead-end while another one wants to enter exactly the same one. Or two agents meeting at a bottleneck which only allows one agent to pass at a time but both need to pass it (according to the optimal route found before) and they need to find a way to let the other one pass first. So basically the main aspect of the problem would be predicting traffic movement to avoid dead-locks. Difficult to describe, but I guess you get what I mean. Do you have any recommendations for me on where to start looking? Any papers, sample projects or similar things that could get me started? I appreciate your help!

Their first requirement is that the system has to be hosted in their country which I think will exclude application like Aplicor, Netsuite & Salesforce. Basically the nucleaus would be the CMS which would integrate all the other apps. PHP or .Net based solutions would be our preferences as have inhouse expertise. So far following are few combinations I have come up with: Joomla (CMS) + Virtuemart (Cart+Ordering) + Sugar CRM + Open ERP (finance) + OTRS Magento (CMS+Cart+Ordering) + Sugar CRM + Open ERP (finance) + Helpdesk Ultimate Drupal (CMS) + Ubercart (Cart+Ordering) + Sugar CRM + Open ERP (finance) + Support Ticketing System Sharepoint (CMS) + OptimusBt (Cart+Ordering) + Dynamics CRM + Great Plains + SharepointHQ Dotnetnuke (CMS) + DNNSpot (Cart+Ordering) + Sigma Pro (CRM+Helpdesk) + Open ERP For Helpdesk I liked Zendesk but the server location was the stopping factor, similar for finance and CRM I liked Aplicor. I would not like to go into detailed requirements as it would make things very complex. Could you please suggest me which options are worth enough to start looking into? What other options we have?

  • A good way to build a game loop in OpenGL

    I'm currently beginning to learn OpenGL at school, and I've started making a simple game the other day (on my own, not for school). I'm using freeglut, and am building it in C, so for my game loop I had really just been using a function I made passed to glutIdleFunc to update all the drawing and physics in one pass. This was fine for simple animations that I didn't care too much about the frame rate, but since the game is mostly physics based, I really want to (need to) tie down how fast it's updating. So my first attempt was to have my function I pass to glutIdleFunc (myIdle()) to keep track of how much time has passed since the previous call to it, and update the physics (and currently graphics) every so many milliseconds. I used timeGetTime() to do this (by using <windows.h>). And this got me to thinking, is using the idle function really a good way of going about the game loop? My question is, what is a better way to implement the game loop in OpenGL? Should I avoid using the idle function?

    We all know about Enums types and use them every single day. What is not that often used is to decorate the Enum type with the FlagsAttribute. When an Enum type has the FlagsAttribute we can assign multiple values to it and thus combine multiple information into a single enum. The enum values should be a power of two so that a bit set is achieved.
