When using third-party libraries such as jquery, yui-reset, swfobject and so on, do you link to the hosted versions, or download and host your own versions?
Pros and cons either way?
Hello,
I have the following code in Python:
linkHTML = "<a href=\"page?q=%s\">click here</a>" % strLink
The problem is that when strLink has spaces in it the link shows up as
<a href="page?q=with space">click here</a>
I can use strLink.replace(" ","+")
But I am sure there are other characters which can cause errors. I tried using
urllib.quote(strLink)
But it doesn't seem to help.
Thanks!
Joel

The default currency on my store (http://twistedtime.com) is GBP. Is it possible to create a link which would open the store with a specified currency ie. USD.
When advertising on US based sites I'd like the store to open with USD as default.
This link

So how to automate this with PHP curl ? Any existing similar sample code ?
When I have a custom node type and I want to create a page, can the link be something other than what Drupal automatically assigns?
i.e. Currently to add a node-type it is: www.example.com/node/add/node-type
but can it be customized to just www.example.com/node-type ?
Hi,
Would like to write a script to detect the file size of the target of a link on a web page.
Right now I have a function that finds all links to PDF files (i.e. the href ends with '.pdf') and appends the string '[pdf]' to the innerText. I would like to extend it so that I can also append some text advising the user that the target is a large file (e.g. greater than 1MB).
Thanks
I was asked of this question when mentor an entry-level programmer, I was thinking of this compile + link process so official and usual that I never think about why.
One thing I could think of is to improve the development productivity, but should there be any other more compiler-related reasons?
I need a list of urls to apply filters to and ATM i write $('.classname a') but now i need only the first link of each list. How do i get this using jquery?
When a user clicks a link on my page, I need to, before it gets actioned by the browser, add the param Hello=True to the url.
So, the user clicks MyPage.aspx in and gets sent to MyPage.ASPX?Hello=True instead.
Has to be client side, preferably using jQuery
I can add an attribute to the tags if needed.

I have a link within a block. At the moment it goes to a list of newsletter nodes:
<p><a href="<?php global $base_url; print $base_url;?>/news-events/newsletter">Read our latest newsletter</a></p>
What I would prefer is to have it go to the latest node of the content type 'newsletter', is this possible?
I'm sure this is easy once you know rails but I'm new to it...
I want to redirect to another page/action after the submit button (f.submit) is pressed, and only after it is pressed. How do you determine the link that you go to after the submit button is pressed?
When I link Boost.Thread to my boost_test executable, it gives me
make[2]: *** No rule to make target `/usr/lib64/libboost_thread-mt.so', needed by `gogo/test/test_boost'. Stop.
when I make it. Here's the offending CMake code, what am I doing wrong?
add_executable(boost_test boost_test.cpp)
add_test(boost_test boost_test)

if(CMAKE_COMPILER_IS_GNUCXX)
target_link_libraries(test_boost #LINK_INTERFACE_LIBRARIES

Hi, right now I'm just trying to figure out how I could do the following :
I have this text right, and it says "report"
I'd like it, so when someone clicks on the report link, it simply executes some PHP code and then changes the text from "report" to "reported" and the font from red to green.
Thanks!
Not sure if it's possible but how do I read a resource from a url using javascript without ajax?
for example, the following url is a static text file containing json encoded text
http://mysite.s3.amazonaws.com/jsonencodedcontent.txt
I'd like to use javascript to read the content from above link, read the json content into a javascript variable.
I can't use ajax because of cross site and I have no control over amazon S3 domain.
anyway to achieve this?
Hi,
I need to do three task in UIWebView,
Open safari,
Open mail
Place the call.
I know that i can do it by using UIApplication's openURL, but i need to do by using UIWebView only, because my data is coming from server, and i need to do this task in that data, if data has www.link, email addres or call number.
Does anyone knows that what is the actual idea.
Thanks.
