  • EM12c Release 4: New Compliance features including DB STIG Standard

    - by DaveWolf
    Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Enterprise Manager’s compliance framework is a powerful and robust feature that provides users the ability to continuously validate their target configurations against a specified standard. Enterprise Manager’s compliance library is filled with a wide variety of standards based on Oracle’s recommendations, best practices and security guidelines. These standards can be easily associated to a target to generate a report showing its degree of conformance to that standard. ( To get an overview of  Database compliance management in Enterprise Manager see this screenwatch. ) Starting with release 12.1.0.4 of Enterprise Manager the compliance library will contain a new standard based on the US Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) for Oracle Database 11g. According to the DISA website, “The STIGs contain technical guidance to ‘lock down’ information systems/software that might otherwise be vulnerable to a malicious computer attack.” In essence, a STIG is a technical checklist an administrator can follow to secure a system or software. Many US government entities are required to follow these standards however many non-US government entities and commercial companies base their standards directly or partially on these STIGs. You can find more information about the Oracle Database and other STIGs on the DISA website. The Oracle Database 11g STIG consists of two categories of checks, installation and instance. Installation checks focus primarily on the security of the Oracle Home while the instance checks focus on the configuration of the running database instance itself. If you view the STIG compliance standard in Enterprise Manager, you will see the rules organized into folders corresponding to these categories. All of the rules have also been documented in the Oracle Database Compliance Standards reference documentation. In order to use this standard both the OMS and agent must be at version 12.1.0.4 as it takes advantage of several features new in this release including: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-qformat:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;} Agent-Side Compliance Rules Manual Compliance Rules Violation Suppression Additional BI Publisher Compliance Reports /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-qformat:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;} Agent-Side Compliance Rules Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-qformat:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;} Agent-side compliance rules are essentially the result of a tighter integration between Configuration Extensions and Compliance Rules. If you ever created customer compliance content in past versions of Enterprise Manager, you likely used Configuration Extensions to collect additional information into the EM repository so it could be used in a Repository compliance rule. This process although powerful, could be confusing to correctly model the SQL in the rule creation wizard. With agent-side rules, the user only needs to choose the Configuration Extension/Alias combination and that’s it. Enterprise Manager will do the rest for you. This tighter integration also means their lifecycle is managed together. When you associate an agent-side compliance standard to a target, the required Configuration Extensions will be deployed automatically for you. The opposite is also true, when you unassociated the compliance standard, the Configuration Extensions will also be undeployed. The Oracle Database STIG compliance standard is implemented as an agent-side standard which is why you simply need to associate the standard to your database targets without previously deploying the associated Configuration Extensions. You can learn more about using Agent-Side compliance rules in the screenwatch Using Agent-Side Compliance Rules on Enterprise Manager's Lifecycle Management page on OTN. /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-qformat:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;} Manual Compliance Rules Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-qformat:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;} There are many checks in the Oracle Database STIG as well as other common standards which simply cannot be automated. This could be something as simple as “Ensure the datacenter entrance is secured.” or complex as Oracle Database STIG Rule DG0186 – “The database should not be directly accessible from public or unauthorized networks”. These checks require a human to perform and attest to its successful completion. Enterprise Manager now supports these types of checks in Manual rules. When first associated to a target, each manual rule will generate a single violation. These violations must be manually cleared by a user who is in essence attesting to its successful completion. The user is able to permanently clear the violation or give a future date on which the violation will be regenerated. Setting a future date is useful when policy dictates a periodic re-validation of conformance wherein the user will have to reperform the check. The optional reason field gives the user an opportunity to provide details of the check results. These include approved exceptions and grace periods. Enterprise Manager now supports the ability to temporarily or permanently suppress a violation. Unlike when you clear a manual rule violation, suppression simply removes the violation from the compliance results UI and in turn its negative impact on the score. The violation still remains in the EM repository and can be accounted for in compliance reports. Temporarily suppressing a violation can give users a grace period in which to address an issue. If the issue is not addressed within the specified period, the violation will reappear in the results automatically. Again the user may enter a reason for the suppression which will be permanently saved with the event along with the suppressing user ID. This means users can take full advantage of the powerful reporting engine by using the Oracle provided reports or building their own. There are many new compliance related reports available in 12.1.0.4 covering all aspects including the association status, library as well as summary and detailed results reports.  10 New Compliance Reports Compliance Summary Report Example showing STIG results Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-qformat:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;} Conclusion Together with the Oracle Database 11g STIG compliance standard these features provide a complete solution for easily auditing and reporting the security posture of your Oracle Databases against this well known benchmark. • How to eager load sibling data using LINQ to SQL?

    - by Scott
    The goal is to issue the fewest queries to SQL Server using LINQ to SQL without using anonymous types. The return type for the method will need to be IList<Child1>. The relationships are as follows: Parent Child1 Child2 Grandchild1 Parent Child1 is a one-to-many relationship Child1 Grandchild1 is a one-to-n relationship (where n is zero to infinity) Parent Child2 is a one-to-n relationship (where n is zero to infinity) I am able to eager load the Parent, Child1 and Grandchild1 data resulting in one query to SQL Server. This query with load options eager loads all of the data, except the sibling data (Child2): DataLoadOptions loadOptions = new DataLoadOptions(); loadOptions.LoadWith<Child1>(o => o.GrandChild1List); loadOptions.LoadWith<Child1>(o => o.Parent); dataContext.LoadOptions = loadOptions; IQueryable<Child1> children = from child in dataContext.Child1 select child; I need to load the sibling data as well. One approach I have tried is splitting the query into two LINQ to SQL queries and merging the result sets together (not pretty), however upon accessing the sibling data it is lazy loaded anyway. Adding the sibling load option will issue a query to SQL Server for each Grandchild1 and Child2 record (which is exactly what I am trying to avoid): DataLoadOptions loadOptions = new DataLoadOptions(); loadOptions.LoadWith<Child1>(o => o.GrandChild1List); loadOptions.LoadWith<Child1>(o => o.Parent); loadOptions.LoadWith<Parent>(o => o.Child2List); dataContext.LoadOptions = loadOptions; IQueryable<Child1> children = from child in dataContext.Child1 select child; exec sp_executesql N'SELECT * FROM [dbo].[Child2] AS [t0] WHERE [t0].[ForeignKeyToParent] = @p0',N'@p0 int',@p0=1 exec sp_executesql N'SELECT * FROM [dbo].[Child2] AS [t0] WHERE [t0].[ForeignKeyToParent] = @p0',N'@p0 int',@p0=2 exec sp_executesql N'SELECT * FROM [dbo].[Child2] AS [t0] WHERE [t0].[ForeignKeyToParent] = @p0',N'@p0 int',@p0=3 exec sp_executesql N'SELECT * FROM [dbo].[Child2] AS [t0] WHERE [t0].[ForeignKeyToParent] = @p0',N'@p0 int',@p0=4 I've also written LINQ to SQL queries to join in all of the data in hopes that it would eager load the data, however when the LINQ to SQL EntitySet of Child2 or Grandchild1 are accessed it lazy loads the data. The reason for returning the IList<Child1> is to hydrate business objects. My thoughts are I am either: Approaching this problem the wrong way. Have the option of calling a stored procedure? My organization should not be using LINQ to SQL as an ORM? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you, -Scott

    Hi, I have a textarea with default text 'write comment...'. when a user updates the textarea and clicks 'add comment' Google chrome does not get the new text. heres my code; function add_comment( token, loader ){ $('textarea.n-c-i').focus(function(){ if( $(this).html() == 'write a comment...' ) { $(this).html(''); } }); $('textarea.n-c-i').blur(function(){ if( $(this).html() == '' ) { $(this).html('write a comment...'); } }); $(".add-comment").bind("click", function() { try{ var but = $(this); var parent = but.parents('.n-w'); var ref = parent.attr("ref"); var comment_box = parent.find('textarea'); var comment = comment_box.val(); alert(comment); var con_wrap = parent.find('ul.com-box'); var contents = con_wrap .html(); var outa_wrap = parent.find('.n-c-b'); var outa = outa_wrap.html(); var com_box = parent.find('ul.com-box'); var results = parent.find('p.com-result'); results.html(loader); comment_box.attr("disabled", "disabled"); but.attr("disabled", "disabled"); $.ajax({ type: 'POST', url: './', data: 'add-comment=true&ref=' + encodeURIComponent(ref) + '&com=' + encodeURIComponent(comment) + '&token=' + token + '&aj=true', cache: false, timeout: 7000, error: function(){ $.fancybox(internal_error, internal_error_fbs); results.html(''); comment_box.removeAttr("disabled"); but.removeAttr("disabled"); }, success: function(html){ auth(html); if( html != '<span class="error-msg">Error, message could not be posted at this time</span>' ) { if( con_wrap.length == 0 ) { outa_wrap.html('<ul class="com-box">' + html + '</ul>' + outa); outa_wrap.find('li:last').fadeIn(); add_comment( token, loader ); }else{ com_box.html(contents + html); com_box.find('li:last').fadeIn(); } } results.html(''); comment_box.removeAttr("disabled"); but.removeAttr("disabled"); } }); }catch(err){alert(err);} return false; }); } any help much appreciated.

  • C++ linked list based tree structure. Sanely move nodes between lists.

    - by krunk
    The requirements: Each Node in the list must contain a reference to its previous sibling Each Node in the list must contain a reference to its next sibling Each Node may have a list of child nodes Each child Node must have a reference to its parent node Basically what we have is a tree structure of arbitrary depth and length. Something like: -root(NULL) --Node1 ----ChildNode1 ------ChildOfChild --------AnotherChild ----ChildNode2 --Node2 ----ChildNode1 ------ChildOfChild ----ChildNode2 ------ChildOfChild --Node3 ----ChildNode1 ----ChildNode2 Given any individual node, you need to be able to either traverse its siblings. the children, or up the tree to the root node. A Node ends up looking something like this: class Node { Node* previoius; Node* next; Node* child; Node* parent; } I have a container class that stores these and provides STL iterators. It performs your typical linked list accessors. So insertAfter looks like: void insertAfter(Node* after, Node* newNode) { Node* next = after->next; after->next = newNode; newNode->previous = after; next->previous = newNode; newNode->next = next; newNode->parent = after->parent; } That's the setup, now for the question. How would one move a node (and its children etc) to another list without leaving the previous list dangling? For example, if Node* myNode exists in ListOne and I want to append it to listTwo. Using pointers, listOne is left with a hole in its list since the next and previous pointers are changed. One solution is pass by value of the appended Node. So our insertAfter method would become: void insertAfter(Node* after, Node newNode); This seems like an awkward syntax. Another option is doing the copying internally, so you'd have: void insertAfter(Node* after, const Node* newNode) { Node *new_node = new Node(*newNode); Node* next = after->next; after->next = new_node; new_node->previous = after; next->previous = new_node; new_node->next = next; new_node->parent = after->parent; } Finally, you might create a moveNode method for moving and prevent raw insertion or appending of a node that already has been assigned siblings and parents. // default pointer value is 0 in constructor and a operator bool(..) // is defined for the Node bool isInList(const Node* node) const { return (node->previous || node->next || node->parent); } // then in insertAfter and friends if(isInList(newNode) // throw some error and bail I thought I'd toss this out there and see what folks came up with.

  • Animation not start immediately when the target view is out of window

    - by funnything
    Hi. When I apply some animation to the view, which is out of window, the animation not start immediately. And then, I scroll the screen to show the animation target view, the animation will start. I hope to the animation will start immediately when it apply. Any ideas? Bellow is sample code. Thank you. public class AnimationValidationActivity extends Activity { private ViewSwitcher _viewSwitcher; private Button _button; /** * utility method for animation */ private Animation buildTranslateAnimation( float fromXDelta , float toXDelta , float fromYDelta , float toYDelta ) { Animation ret = new TranslateAnimation( fromXDelta , toXDelta , fromYDelta , toYDelta ); ret.setDuration( 1000 ); return ret; } /** * build view in place of layout.xml */ private View buildView() { ScrollView ret = new ScrollView( this ); ret.setLayoutParams( new LinearLayout.LayoutParams( LinearLayout.LayoutParams.FILL_PARENT , LinearLayout.LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT ) ); LinearLayout parent = new LinearLayout( this ); parent.setLayoutParams( new LinearLayout.LayoutParams( LinearLayout.LayoutParams.FILL_PARENT , LinearLayout.LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT ) ); parent.setOrientation( LinearLayout.VERTICAL ); ret.addView( parent ); _viewSwitcher = new ViewSwitcher( this ); _viewSwitcher.setLayoutParams( new LinearLayout.LayoutParams( LinearLayout.LayoutParams.FILL_PARENT , 100 ) ); parent.addView( _viewSwitcher ); View spacer = new View( this ); spacer.setLayoutParams( new LinearLayout.LayoutParams( LinearLayout.LayoutParams.FILL_PARENT , getWindow() .getWindowManager().getDefaultDisplay().getHeight() ) ); parent.addView( spacer ); _button = new Button( this ); _button.setText( "button" ); parent.addView( _button ); return ret; } @Override public void onCreate( Bundle savedInstanceState ) { super.onCreate( savedInstanceState ); setContentView( buildView() ); _viewSwitcher.setFactory( new ViewSwitcher.ViewFactory() { @Override public View makeView() { TextView view = new TextView( AnimationValidationActivity.this ); view.setLayoutParams( new ViewSwitcher.LayoutParams( ViewSwitcher.LayoutParams.FILL_PARENT , ViewSwitcher.LayoutParams.FILL_PARENT ) ); view.setBackgroundColor( 0xffffffff ); view.setText( "foobar" ); return view; } } ); _button.setOnClickListener( new View.OnClickListener() { @Override public void onClick( View v ) { _viewSwitcher.setInAnimation( buildTranslateAnimation( _viewSwitcher.getWidth() , 0 , 0 , 0 ) ); _viewSwitcher.setOutAnimation( buildTranslateAnimation( 0 , - _viewSwitcher.getWidth() , 0 , 0 ) ); int color = new Random().nextInt(); _viewSwitcher.getNextView().setBackgroundColor( 0xff000000 | color & 0xffffff ); _viewSwitcher.showNext(); } } ); } }

  • Can first descendent be selected directly?

    - by Ben Huh
    I am currently using find() and first() method to select the first descendent element from each of the <div> elements that contains the parent class. But I find this quite cumbersome since find() method would produce a set of matched elements before the first element is being picked. The following is the skeleton of my code: HTML <div class=parent> <ul> <li>random characters</li> <li>random characters</li> <li>random characters</li> <li>random characters</li> </ul> </div> <div class=parent> <ul> <li>random characters</li> <li>random characters</li> <li>random characters</li> <li>random characters</li> </ul> </div> <div class=non-parent> <ul> <li>random characters</li> <li>random characters</li> <li>random characters</li> <li>random characters</li> </ul> </div> <div class=parent> <ul> <li>random characters</li> <li>random characters</li> <li>random characters</li> <li>random characters</li> </ul> </div> // .....the list continues Javascript $('.parent').each(function() { $(this).find('ul li').first().css('color', 'red'); // do other stuff within each loop }); I have seen people using $(".parent li:first") selector. But, because I am doing it in a loop, I am not sure how or whether if this could be done and would like some advice. Thanks.

  • QTreeView incorrectly displays the SpinBox if item is checkable and when using QWindowsStyle

    - by Sharraz
    Hello, I'm having a problem with a QTreeView in my program: The SpinBox used to edit the double value of a checkable item is displayed incorrectly when using the Windows style. Only the up and down buttons of the SpinBox can be seen, but not any value. The following example code is able to reproduce the problem: #include <QtGui> class Model : public QAbstractItemModel { public: Model() : checked(false), number(0) {} Qt::ItemFlags flags(const QModelIndex & index) const { return Qt::ItemIsEnabled | Qt::ItemIsEditable | Qt::ItemIsSelectable | Qt::ItemIsUserCheckable; } QVariant data(const QModelIndex &index, int role) const { switch (role) { case Qt::DisplayRole: case Qt::EditRole: return QVariant(number); case Qt::CheckStateRole: return QVariant(checked ? Qt::Checked : Qt::Unchecked); } return QVariant(); } QVariant headerData(int section, Qt::Orientation orientation, int role) const { return QVariant(); } int rowCount(const QModelIndex &parent) const { return parent.isValid() ? 0 : 1; } int columnCount(const QModelIndex &parent) const { return parent.isValid() ? 0 : 1; } bool setData(const QModelIndex &index, const QVariant &value, int role) { switch (role) { case Qt::EditRole: number = value.toDouble(); emit dataChanged(index, index); return true; case Qt::CheckStateRole: checked = value.toInt(); emit dataChanged(index, index); return true; } return false; } QModelIndex index(int row, int column, const QModelIndex &parent) const { if (!row && !column && !parent.isValid()) return createIndex(0, 0); return QModelIndex(); } QModelIndex parent(const QModelIndex &child) const { return QModelIndex(); } private: bool checked; double number; }; int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { QApplication app(argc, argv); QApplication::setStyle(new QWindowsStyle()); QTreeView tree; tree.setModel(new Model()); tree.show(); return app.exec(); } The problems seems to have something to do with the checkbox. If Qt::ItemIsUserCheckable is removed, the SpinBox will be displayed correctly. If the number is replaced by a longer one like 0.01, it can be seen partially. Any idea how this problem can be solved? Do I use the checkbox correctly? Greets, Sharraz

  • Can a process have two pid's?

    - by limp_chimp
    I'm studying computer systems and I've made this very simple function which uses fork() to create a child process. fork() returns a pid_t that is 0 if it's a child process. But calling the getpid() function within this child process returns a different, nonzero pid. In the code I have below, is newPid only meaningful in the context of the program, and not to the operating system? Is it possibly only a relative value, measured against the pid of the parent? #include <stdio.h> #include <unistd.h> #include <sys/types.h> #include <string.h> #include <errno.h> #include <stdlib.h> void unixError(char* msg) { printf("%s: %s\n", msg, strerror(errno)); exit(0); } pid_t Fork() { pid_t pid; if ((pid = fork()) < 0) unixError("Fork error"); return pid; } int main(int argc, const char * argv[]) { pid_t thisPid, parentPid, newPid; int count = 0; thisPid = getpid(); parentPid = getppid(); printf("thisPid = %d, parent pid = %d\n", thisPid, parentPid); if ((newPid = Fork()) == 0) { count++; printf("I am teh child. My pid is %d, my other pid is %d\n", getpid(), newPid); exit(0); } printf("I am the parent. My pid is %d\n", thisPid); return 0; } Output: thisPid = 30050, parent pid = 30049 I am the parent. My pid is 30050 I am teh child. My pid is 30052, my other pid is 0 Lastly, why is the child's pid 2 higher than the parent's, and not 1? The difference between the main function's pid and its parent is 1, but when we create a child it increments the pid by 2. Why is that?

  • Binary Search Tree Contains Function

    - by Suede
    I am trying to write a "contains" function for a binary search tree. I receive the following error at compile "Unhandled exception at 0x77291CB3 (ntdll.dll) in BST.exe: 0xC00000FD: Stack overflow (parameters: 0x00000001, 0x001E2FFC)." The following is my code. struct Node { int data; Node* leftChild; Node* rightChild; Node() : leftChild(NULL), rightChild(NULL) {} }; struct BST { Node* root; BST() : root(NULL) {} void insert(int value); bool contains(int value); }; void BST::insert(int value) { Node* temp = new Node(); temp->data = value; if(root == NULL) { root = temp; return; } Node* current; current = root; Node* parent; parent = root; current = (temp->data < current->data ? (current->leftChild) : (current->rightChild) while(current != NULL) { parent = current; current = (temp->data < current->data) ? (current->leftChild) : (current->rightChild) } if(temp->data < parent->data) { parent->leftChild = temp; } if(temp->data > parent->data) { parent->rightChild = temp; } } bool BST::contains(int value) { Node* temp = new Node(); temp->data = value; Node* current; current = root; if(temp->data == current->data) { // base case for when node with value is found std::cout << "true" << std::endl; return true; } if(current == NULL) { // base case if BST is empty or if a leaf is reached before value is found std::cout << "false" << std::endl; return false; } else { // recursive step current = (temp->data < current->data) ? (current->leftChild) : (current->rightChild); return contains(temp->data); } } int main() { BST bst; bst.insert(5); bst.contains(4); system("pause"); } As it stands, I would insert a single node with value '5' and I would search the binary search tree for a node with value '4' - thus, I would expect the result to be false.

  • dojo dgrid tree, subrows in wrong position

    - by Ventura
    I have a dgrid, working with tree column plugin. Every time that the user click on the tree, I call the server, catch the subrows(json) and bind it. But when it happens, these subrows are show in wrong position, like the image bellow. The most strange is when I change the pagination, after go back to first page, the subrows stay on the correct place. (please, tell me if is possible to understand my english, then I can try to improve the text) My dgrid code: var CustomGrid = declare([OnDemandGrid, Keyboard, Selection, Pagination]); var grid = new CustomGrid({ columns: [ selector({label: "#", disabled: function(object){ return object.type == 'DOCx'; }}, "radio"), {label:'Id', field:'id', sortable: false}, tree({label: "Title", field:"title", sortable: true, indentWidth:20, allowDuplicates:true}), //{label:'Title', field:'title', sortable: false}, {label:'Count', field:'count', sortable: false} ], store: this.memoryStore, collapseOnRefresh:true, pagingLinks: false, pagingTextBox: true, firstLastArrows: true, pageSizeOptions: [10, 15, 25], selectionMode: "single", // for Selection; only select a single row at a time cellNavigation: false // for Keyboard; allow only row-level keyboard navigation }, "grid"); My memory store: loadMemoryStore: function(items){ this.memoryStore = Observable(new Memory({ data: items, getChildren: function(parent, options){ return this.query({parent: parent.id}, options); }, mayHaveChildren: function(parent){ return (parent.count != 0) && (parent.type != 'DOC'); } })); }, This moment I am binding the subrows: success: function(data){ for(var i=0; i<data.report.length; i++){ this.memoryStore.put({id:data.report[i].id, title:data.report[i].created, type:'DOC', parent:this.designId}); } }, I was thinking, maybe every moment that I bind the subrows, I could do like a refresh on the grid, maybe works. I think that the pagination does the same thing. Thanks. edit: I forgot the question. Well, How can I correct this bug? If The refresh in dgrid works. How can I do it? Other thing that I was thinking, maybe my getChildren is wrong, but I could not identify it. thanks again.

  • Cygwin won't start Gitk

    - by starcorn
    Hey I have followed this answer to solve problem with running GUI applications under Cygwin. So far it seems okay, but when I try to open gitk it will complain on that it cannot find any git repository here. I am standing in the correct folder though, and running git from console it works (I can push, pull, and so on) But gitk won't start as it say it is not any git repository here. Anyone know how to fix it? I type the following to the console. gitk And the output I get is: 0 [main] wish8.5 2260 child_info_fork::abort: C:\cygwin\bin\libtcl8.5.dll: Loaded to different address: parent(0x520000) != child(0x410000) 0 [main] wish8.5 4332 child_info_fork::abort: C:\cygwin\bin\libtcl8.5.dll: Loaded to different address: parent(0x520000) != child(0x560000) 0 [main] wish8.5 4716 child_info_fork::abort: C:\cygwin\bin\libtcl8.5.dll: Loaded to different address: parent(0x520000) != child(0x410000) 0 [main] wish8.5 4724 child_info_fork::abort: C:\cygwin\bin\libtcl8.5.dll: Loaded to different address: parent(0x520000) != child(0x410000)

  • save the transient instance before flushing

    Exception: object references an unsaved transient instance - save the transient instance before flushing: Child How to reproduce issue: 1. Hibernate is load the entity "Parent". The property "child" is null 2. The "Parent" is rendered on the screen and after that the "child" property is auto instantiated. • Is there a way to get x-mouse-type scrolling under the cursor for child windows within one program window?

    - by eigor40
    I've been messing with X-mouse setups, to enable scrolling for whatever is under the cursor, regardless of whether it has the focus or not. I've found several ways to get this to work between various 'parent' windows (Win7's built-in mouse options, WizMouse, etc), but I've found nothing that will do the same thing with (for example) several child windows with spreadsheets, open at the same time in one parent Excel window. I have the spreadsheets set up so that two are visible in the window at the same time, but I always have to click on either one to scroll it up and down. I'd love to be able to scroll these just by moving the mouse and doing the scroll, without the extra focus-change-click. I am not a big fan of running separate parent windows for each spreadsheet, which I realize would be something of a workaround. I'd rather keep the single parent Excel window, but still have X-mouse functionality within it. Anyone know of any way to achieve this? I'd call it "XMouse for Child Windows".

  • Calculating a child Position, Rotation and Scale values?

    - by Sergio Plascencia
    I am making my own game editor(just for fun) anyway I have problem that I had several days trying to resolve but I have been unsuccessful. Here goes... I have an object "A": Position: (3,3,3), Rotation: (45,10,0), Scale(1,2,2.5) And an object "B": Position: (1,1,1), Rotation: (10,34,18), Scale(1.5,2,1) I now make a parent/child relationship. "B" is a child of "A": A |--B When I do the relationship I need to re-calculate the Child("B") Position, Rotation and Scale such that it maintains its current position, rotation and scale(Location in world). So for child position "B" it would now be (-2, -2, -2) since now "A" it is center and (-2, -2, -2) will keep the object in its same position. I think I got the Position and scale figure out, but rotation I cant. So I was trying to figure out what to do and what I did is opened Unity and run the same example and I did noticed that when making an abject a child object the child object did not moved at all but had its Position, Rotation and Scale values changed(Related to the parent). For example: Unity (Parent Object "A"): Position: (0,0,0) Rotation: (45,10,0) Scale: (1,1,1) Unity (Child Object "B"): Position: (0,0,0) Rotation: (0,0,0) Scale: (1,1,1) When making it a parent child relation("B" is a child of "A") the child object("B") in its Rotation values now has: X: -44.13605 Y: -14.00195 Z: 9.851074 If I plug the same values to my editor(To the child "B" rotation X, Y, Z values) the object does not move at all. So I basically need to know how did Unity arrive at those rotation values for the child(What are the calculations?). If you can help and put all the equations for the Position, Rotation or Scale then I can double check I am doing it correctly but with the Rotation I really need help. Thanks!

  • NHibernate Pitfalls: Cascades

    - by Ricardo Peres
    This is part of a series of posts about NHibernate Pitfalls. See the entire collection here. For entities that have associations – one-to-one, one-to-many, many-to-one or many-to-many –, NHibernate needs to know what to do with their related entities, in three particular moments: when saving, updating or deleting. In particular, there are two possible behaviors: either ignore these related entities or cascade changes to them. NHibernate allows setting the cascade behavior for each association, and the default behavior is not to cascade (ignore). The possible cascade options are: None Ignore, this is the default Save-Update If the entity is being saved or updated, also save any related entities that are either not saved or have been modified and associate these related entities to the root entity. Generally safe Delete If the entity is being deleted, also delete the related entities. This is only useful for parent-child relations Delete-Orphan Identical to Delete, with the addition that if once related entity is removed from the association – orphaned –, also delete it. Also only for parent-child All Combination of Save-Update and Delete, usually that’s what we want (for parent-child relations, of course) All-Delete-Orphan Same as All plus delete any related entities who lose their relationship In summary, Save-Update is generally what you want in most cases. As for the Delete variations, they should only be used if the related entities depend on the root entity (parent-child), so that deleting the root entity and not their related entities would result in a constraint violation on the database.

  • Fast multi-window rendering with C#

    - by seb
    I've been searching and testing different kind of rendering libraries for C# days for many weeks now. So far I haven't found a single library that works well on multi-windowed rendering setups. The requirement is to be able to run the program on 12+ monitor setups (financial charting) without latencies on a fast computer. Each window needs to update multiple times every second. While doing this CPU needs to do lots of intensive and time critical tasks so some of the burden has to be shifted to GPUs. That's where hardware rendering steps in, in another words DirectX or OpenGL. I have tried GDI+ with windows forms and figured it's way too slow for my needs. I have tried OpenGL via OpenTK (on windows forms control) which seemed decently quick (I still have some tests to run on it) but painfully difficult to get working properly (hard to find/program good text rendering libraries). Recently I tried DirectX9, DirectX10 and Direct2D with Windows forms via SharpDX. I tried a separate device for each window and a single device/multiple swap chains approaches. All of these resulted in very poor performance on multiple windows. For example if I set target FPS to 20 and open 4 full screen windows on different monitors the whole operating system starts lagging very badly. Rendering is simply clearing the screen to black, no primitives rendered. CPU usage on this test was about 0% and GPU usage about 10%, I don't understand what is the bottleneck here? My development computer is very fast, i7 2700k, AMD HD7900, 16GB ram so the tests should definitely run on this one. In comparison I did some DirectX9 tests on C++/Win32 API one device/multiple swap chains and I could open 100 windows spread all over the 4-monitor workspace (with 3d teapot rotating on them) and still had perfectly responsible operating system (fps was dropping of course on the rendering windows quite badly to around 5 which is what I would expect running 100 simultaneous renderings). Does anyone know any good ways to do multi-windowed rendering on C# or am I forced to re-write my program in C++ to get that performance (major pain)? I guess I'm giving OpenGL another shot before I go the C++ route... I'll report any findings here. Test methods for reference: For C# DirectX one-device multiple swapchain test I used the method from this excellent answer: Display Different images per monitor directX 10 Direct3D10 version: I created the d3d10device and DXGIFactory like this: D3DDev = new SharpDX.Direct3D10.Device(SharpDX.Direct3D10.DriverType.Hardware, SharpDX.Direct3D10.DeviceCreationFlags.None); DXGIFac = new SharpDX.DXGI.Factory(); Then initialized the rendering windows like this: var scd = new SwapChainDescription(); scd.BufferCount = 1; scd.ModeDescription = new ModeDescription(control.Width, control.Height, new Rational(60, 1), Format.R8G8B8A8_UNorm); scd.IsWindowed = true; scd.OutputHandle = control.Handle; scd.SampleDescription = new SampleDescription(1, 0); scd.SwapEffect = SwapEffect.Discard; scd.Usage = Usage.RenderTargetOutput; SC = new SwapChain(Parent.DXGIFac, Parent.D3DDev, scd); var backBuffer = Texture2D.FromSwapChain<Texture2D>(SC, 0); _rt = new RenderTargetView(Parent.D3DDev, backBuffer); Drawing command executed on each rendering iteration is simply: Parent.D3DDev.ClearRenderTargetView(_rt, new Color4(0, 0, 0, 0)); SC.Present(0, SharpDX.DXGI.PresentFlags.None); DirectX9 version is very similar: Device initialization: PresentParameters par = new PresentParameters(); par.PresentationInterval = PresentInterval.Immediate; par.Windowed = true; par.SwapEffect = SharpDX.Direct3D9.SwapEffect.Discard; par.PresentationInterval = PresentInterval.Immediate; par.AutoDepthStencilFormat = SharpDX.Direct3D9.Format.D16; par.EnableAutoDepthStencil = true; par.BackBufferFormat = SharpDX.Direct3D9.Format.X8R8G8B8; // firsthandle is the handle of first rendering window D3DDev = new SharpDX.Direct3D9.Device(new Direct3D(), 0, DeviceType.Hardware, firsthandle, CreateFlags.SoftwareVertexProcessing, par); Rendering window initialization: if (parent.D3DDev.SwapChainCount == 0) { SC = parent.D3DDev.GetSwapChain(0); } else { PresentParameters pp = new PresentParameters(); pp.Windowed = true; pp.SwapEffect = SharpDX.Direct3D9.SwapEffect.Discard; pp.BackBufferFormat = SharpDX.Direct3D9.Format.X8R8G8B8; pp.EnableAutoDepthStencil = true; pp.AutoDepthStencilFormat = SharpDX.Direct3D9.Format.D16; pp.PresentationInterval = PresentInterval.Immediate; SC = new SharpDX.Direct3D9.SwapChain(parent.D3DDev, pp); } Code for drawing loop: SharpDX.Direct3D9.Surface bb = SC.GetBackBuffer(0); Parent.D3DDev.SetRenderTarget(0, bb); Parent.D3DDev.Clear(ClearFlags.Target, Color.Black, 1f, 0); SC.Present(Present.None, new SharpDX.Rectangle(), new SharpDX.Rectangle(), HWND); bb.Dispose(); C++ DirectX9/Win32 API test with multiple swapchains and one device code is here: http://pastebin.com/tjnRvATJ It's a modified version from Kevin Harris's nice example code.

  • How do I get a JComponent to resize after calling `setVisible(true)`?

    - by iWerner
    Our application displays a 2D view of our data (mainly maps) and then allows the user to change to a 3D view. The 2D and 3D views are generated by custom C++ code that is SWIG'ed into our Swing GUI and wrapped within a JComponent. These JComponents are then displayed within another parent JComponent. Our problem is that when we change from the 2D to the 3D view and then back to the 2D view, when we resize the window the 2D view does not get resized. The resize events don't get sent to the 2D view. Our application runs under Linux (Fedora 11). We're running Java version 1.6.0_12. Here is some sample code in which I've replaced the 2D view and 3D view with two 2 JButtons, that produces the same behaviour. Once you go to 3D and then back to 2D, resizing the window does not cause the 2D view to be resized. /* TestFrame.java * Compile with: $ javac TestFrame.java * Run with: $ java TestFrame */ import java.awt.BorderLayout; import java.awt.Container; import java.awt.event.ComponentEvent; import java.awt.event.ComponentListener; import javax.swing.JButton; public class TestFrame extends javax.swing.JFrame { private boolean mode2D = true; private JButton view2D = null; private JButton view3D = null; private Container parent = null; public TestFrame() { initComponents(); containerPanel.setLayout(new BorderLayout()); view2D = new JButton("2D View"); view2D.addComponentListener(new MyListener("2D VIEW")); containerPanel.add(view2D); } private void changerButtonActionPerformed(java.awt.event.ActionEvent evt) { if (parent == null) { parent = view2D.getParent(); } if (mode2D) { System.out.println("Going from 2D to 3D"); view2D.setVisible(false); if (view3D != null) { view3D.setVisible(true); } else { view3D = new JButton("3D View"); view3D.addComponentListener(new MyListener("3D VIEW")); parent.add(view3D); } ((JButton) evt.getSource()).setText("Change to 2D"); mode2D = false; } else { System.out.println("Going from 3D to 2D"); view3D.setVisible(false); view2D.setVisible(true); ((JButton) evt.getSource()).setText("Change to 3D"); mode2D = true; } } public static void main(String args[]) { java.awt.EventQueue.invokeLater(new Runnable() { public void run() { new TestFrame().setVisible(true); } }); } private javax.swing.JPanel containerPanel; private javax.swing.JButton changerButton; private class MyListener implements ComponentListener { private String name; public MyListener(String name) { this.name = name; } @Override public void componentHidden(ComponentEvent event) { System.out.println("@@@ [" + name + "] component Hidden"); } @Override public void componentResized(ComponentEvent event) { System.out.println("@@@ [" + name + "] component Resized"); } @Override public void componentShown(ComponentEvent event) { System.out.println("@@@ [" + name + "] component Shown"); } @Override public void componentMoved(ComponentEvent event) { System.out.println("@@@ [" + name + "] component Moved"); } }; @SuppressWarnings("unchecked") private void initComponents() { containerPanel = new javax.swing.JPanel(); changerButton = new javax.swing.JButton(); setDefaultCloseOperation(javax.swing.WindowConstants.EXIT_ON_CLOSE); containerPanel.setBorder(new javax.swing.border.MatteBorder(null)); javax.swing.GroupLayout containerPanelLayout = new javax.swing.GroupLayout(containerPanel); containerPanel.setLayout(containerPanelLayout); containerPanelLayout.setHorizontalGroup( containerPanelLayout.createParallelGroup(javax.swing.GroupLayout.Alignment.LEADING) .addGap(0, 374, Short.MAX_VALUE) ); containerPanelLayout.setVerticalGroup( containerPanelLayout.createParallelGroup(javax.swing.GroupLayout.Alignment.LEADING) .addGap(0, 239, Short.MAX_VALUE) ); changerButton.setText("Change to 3D"); changerButton.addActionListener(new java.awt.event.ActionListener() { public void actionPerformed(java.awt.event.ActionEvent evt) { changerButtonActionPerformed(evt); } }); javax.swing.GroupLayout layout = new javax.swing.GroupLayout(getContentPane()); getContentPane().setLayout(layout); layout.setHorizontalGroup( layout.createParallelGroup(javax.swing.GroupLayout.Alignment.LEADING) .addGroup(layout.createSequentialGroup() .addContainerGap() .addGroup(layout.createParallelGroup(javax.swing.GroupLayout.Alignment.LEADING) .addComponent(containerPanel, javax.swing.GroupLayout.DEFAULT_SIZE, javax.swing.GroupLayout.DEFAULT_SIZE, Short.MAX_VALUE) .addComponent(changerButton)) .addContainerGap()) ); layout.setVerticalGroup( layout.createParallelGroup(javax.swing.GroupLayout.Alignment.LEADING) .addGroup(layout.createSequentialGroup() .addContainerGap() .addComponent(containerPanel, javax.swing.GroupLayout.DEFAULT_SIZE, javax.swing.GroupLayout.DEFAULT_SIZE, Short.MAX_VALUE) .addPreferredGap(javax.swing.LayoutStyle.ComponentPlacement.RELATED) .addComponent(changerButton) .addContainerGap()) ); pack(); } } (My apologies for the Netbeans generated GUI code) I should mention that when we call parent.remove(view2D) and parent.add(view3D) to change the views the X Windows ID of our 3D view changes and we're unable to get our 3D view back. Therefore parent.remove(view2D) and parent.add(view3D) is not really a solution and we have to call setVisible(false) and setVisible(true) on the JComponents that contain our 2D and 3D views in order to hide and show them. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  • Parse XML tree with no id using LINQ to XML

    - by Danny
    Requirement I want to read a XML tree, fill my objects with encountered attributes and after every run a method (insert it into my db). The amount of parents is not specified, also the order is not specified, it could be, address-death-death-address-address for example Input file Overview: <Root> <Element> <Element2> <Parent> <Child> <Grandchild> <Grandchild> </Child> </Parent> </Element2> </Element1> </Root> Full example: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <Root> <Element1> <Element2> <Parent> <Child> <Grandchild> <number>01</number> <name>Person</name> <Rows> <Row> <number>0110</number> <name>ID</name> <value>123456789</value> </Row> </Rows> </Grandchild> <Grandchild> <number>08</number> <name>Address</name> <Rows> <Row> <number>1110</number> <name>street</name> <value>first aveneu</value> </Row> <Row> <number>1120</number> <name>streetnumber</name> <value>345</value> </Row> <Row> <number>1130</number> <name>zip</name> <value>2938PS</value> </Row> <Row> <number>1160</number> <name>country</name> <value>Germany</value> </Row> </Rows> </Grandchild> </Child> </Parent> <Parent> <Child> <Grandchild> <number>01</number> <name>Person</name> <Rows> <Row> <number>0110</number> <name>ID</name> <value>987654321</value> </Row> </Rows> </Grandchild> <Grandchild> <number>06</number> <name>Death</name> <Rows> <Row> <number>0810</number> <name>date</name> <value>2012-01-03</value> </Row> <Row> <number>0820</number> <name>placeOfDeath</name> <value>attic</value> </Row> <Row> <number>0830</number> <name>funeral</name> <value>burrial</value> </Row> </Rows> </Grandchild> </Child> </Parent> </Element2> </Element1> </Root> Desired result After encounter of parent determine type of grandchild (number 6 is death number 8 is address) Every parent has ALWAYS grandchild number 1 'Person', the second grandchild is either death or address. reading first parent Person person = new Person(); person.ID = value; <--- filled with 123456789 person.street = value; <--- filled with first aveneu person.streetnumber = value; <--- filled with 345 person.zip = value; <--- filled with 2938PS person.country = value; <--- filled with germany person.DoMethod(); // inserts the value in db Continue reading next parent. Person person = new Person(); person.ID = value; <--- filled with 987654321 person.date = value; <--- filled with 2012-01-03 person.placeOfDeath = value; <--- filled with attic person.funeral = value; <--- filled with burrial person.DoMethod(); // insert the values in db Continue reading till no parents found EDIT: how do I target the name element of the second grandchild for every child? Like address or death Code/Credit I got no further then this, with help of Daniel Hilgarth: Linq to XML (C#) parse XML tree with no attributes/id to object The XML tree has changed, and I am really stuck.. in the meantime I try to post new working code...

  • Problems with with A* algorithm

    - by V_Programmer
    I'm trying to implement the A* algorithm in Java. I followed this tutorial,in particular, this pseudocode: http://theory.stanford.edu/~amitp/GameProgramming/ImplementationNotes.html The problem is my code doesn't work. It goes into an infinite loop. I really don't know why this happens... I suspect that the problem are in F = G + H function implemented in Graph constructors. I suspect I am not calculate the neighbor F correclty. Here's my code: List<Graph> open; List<Graph> close; private void createRouteAStar(Unit u) { open = new ArrayList<Graph>(); close = new ArrayList<Graph>(); u.ai_route_endX = 11; u.ai_route_endY = 5; List<Graph> neigh; int index; int i; boolean finish = false; Graph current; int cost; Graph start = new Graph(u.xMap, u.yMap, 0, ManhattanDistance(u.xMap, u.yMap, u.ai_route_endX, u.ai_route_endY)); open.add(start); current = start; while(!finish) { index = findLowerF(); current = new Graph(open, index); System.out.println(current.x); System.out.println(current.y); if (current.x == u.ai_route_endX && current.y == u.ai_route_endY) { finish = true; } else { close.add(current); neigh = current.getNeighbors(); for (i = 0; i < neigh.size(); i++) { cost = current.g + ManhattanDistance(current.x, current.y, neigh.get(i).x, neigh.get(i).y); if (open.contains(neigh.get(i)) && cost < neigh.get(i).g) { open.remove(open.indexOf(neigh)); } else if (close.contains(neigh.get(i)) && cost < neigh.get(i).g) { close.remove(close.indexOf(neigh)); } else if (!open.contains(neigh.get(i)) && !close.contains(neigh.get(i))) { neigh.get(i).g = cost; neigh.get(i).f = cost + ManhattanDistance(neigh.get(i).x, neigh.get(i).y, u.ai_route_endX, u.ai_route_endY); neigh.get(i).setParent(current); open.add(neigh.get(i)); } } } } System.out.println("step"); for (i=0; i < close.size(); i++) { if (close.get(i).parent != null) { System.out.println(i); System.out.println(close.get(i).parent.x); System.out.println(close.get(i).parent.y); } } } private int findLowerF() { int i; int min = 10000; int minIndex = -1; for (i=0; i < open.size(); i++) { if (open.get(i).f < min) { min = open.get(i).f; minIndex = i; System.out.println("min"); System.out.println(min); } } return minIndex; } private int ManhattanDistance(int ax, int ay, int bx, int by) { return Math.abs(ax-bx) + Math.abs(ay-by); } And, as I've said. I suspect that the Graph class has the main problem. However I've not been able to detect and fix it. public class Graph { int x, y; int f,g,h; Graph parent; public Graph(int x, int y, int g, int h) { this.x = x; this.y = y; this.g = g; this.h = h; this.f = g + h; } public Graph(List<Graph> list, int index) { this.x = list.get(index).x; this.y = list.get(index).y; this.g = list.get(index).g; this.h = list.get(index).h; this.f = list.get(index).f; this.parent = list.get(index).parent; } public Graph(Graph gp) { this.x = gp.x; this.y = gp.y; this.g = gp.g; this.h = gp.h; this.f = gp.f; } public Graph(Graph gp, Graph parent) { this.x = gp.x; this.y = gp.y; this.g = gp.g; this.h = gp.h; this.f = g + h; this.parent = parent; } public List<Graph> getNeighbors() { List<Graph> aux = new ArrayList<Graph>(); aux.add(new Graph(x+1, y, g,h)); aux.add(new Graph(x-1, y, g,h)); aux.add(new Graph(x, y+1, g,h)); aux.add(new Graph(x, y-1, g,h)); return aux; } public void setParent(Graph g) { parent = g; } } Little Edit: Using the System.out and the Debugger I discovered that the program ALWAYS is check the same "current" graph, (15,8) which is the (u.xMap, u.yMap) position. Looks like it keeps forever in the first step.

  • Using Url Rewrite to Block Page Requests

    - by The Official Microsoft IIS Site
    The other day I was checking the traffic stats for my WordPress blog to see which of my posts were the most popular. I was a little concerned to see that wp-login.php was in the Top 5 total requests almost every month. Since I’m the only author on my blog my logins could not possibly account for the traffic hitting that page. The only explanation could be that the additional traffic was coming from automated hacking attempts. Any server administrator concerned about security knows that “ footprinting...(read more)
