    How do you avoid getting into trouble with the law or lawsuits for a website that could enable illegal or potentially harmful activity by its users. The only thing I can think of is to make the content wholly user-generated, and thereby I have no control or say or responsibility for what goes on there. As an example, a website that shows great ski and snowboarding locations...well people could get hurt, or ski and snowboard on land where they are tresspassing, etc. Thoughts?

    I am using TableAdapter to insert records in table within a loop. foreach(....) { .... .... teamsTableAdapter.Insert(_teamid, _teamname); .... } Where TeamID is the primary key in the table After first run of this loop, Insert throws Duplicate Primary Key found Exception. To handle this, i have done this foreach(....) { .... .... try { _teamsTableAdapter.Insert(_teamid, _teamname); } catch (System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException e) { if (e.Number != 2627) MessageBox.Show(e.Message); } .... .... } But using try catch statement is costly, how to avoid this exception. I am working in VS2010 and INSERT ... ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE does not work.

  • Scheme: Detecting duplicate elements in a list

    Does R6RS or Chez Scheme v7.9.4 have a library function to check if a list contains duplicate elements? Alternatively, do either have any built in functionality for sets (which dis-allow duplicate elements)? So far, I've only been able to find an example here. The problem with that is that it doesn't appear to actually be part of the Chez Scheme library. Although I could write my own version of this, I'd much rather use a well known, tested, and maintained library function - especially given how basic an operation this is. So a simple "use these built-in functions" or a "no built-in library implements this" will suffice. Thanks!

  • Controllling Drupal's active/active-trail with duplicate menu items

    I'm developing a site that requires some duplication of links within the menu: Section A -- Introduction -- Testimonials Section B -- Introduction -- Testimonials Testimonials -- Section A -- Section B So 'Section A Testimonials' and 'Testimonials Section A' point to the same node. But regardless of which menu link people use, I want the person to be in Section A. The problem is that D6 doesn't like duplicate menu items, and it assigns the active and active-trail classes rather unpredictably. So my thought was to create a placeholder node for each item in the Testimonials menu, and then set the URL to something like "testimonials/redirect/section-a", and then use mod_rewrite to redirect over to "section-a/testimonials". With this solution, I will have no duplicate paths in the menu. I'm just hoping this doesn't somehow hurt my SEO. Does anyone know a better solution?

  • jQuery.load() Retrieving partial page content causes duplicate ID in DOM

    Hello all, I currently have a JS function that allows me to load partial content from another page into the current page using jQuery.load() However I noticed when using this that I get a duplicate ID in the DOM (when inspecting with FireBug) This function is used in conjuction with a Flash Building viewe so it does not contain any code to retrieve the URL from the anchor tag. function displayApartment(apartmentID) { $("#apartmentInfo").load(siteURL + apartmentID + ".aspx #apartmentInfo", function () { //re-do links loaded in $("a.gallery").colorbox({ opacity: "0.5" }); }); } The code above works just fine in retrieving the content, however it just bugs me that when inspecting with firebug I get something like this. <div id="apartmentInfo"> <div id="apartmentInfo"> <!-- Remote HTML here..... --> </div> </div> Can anyone please suggest anything on how to remove the duplicate div? In my application I have one huge GtkComboBox created with one long for loop which eats up so much of time and I am using this combo at two places in one single screen. So, what I want to do is create this combo for one time and duplicate/copy it in another one so it will save my time. If I try to add same combo box pointer two times, gtk gives me error "child-paren != NULL" cause in gtk widget can have only single parent. So what to do? Thanks, PP.

    I have an external hard drive on which I have backed up files several times. Some files were modified between backups, others were not. Some may have been renamed. Now I'm running out of space, and I'd like to clean up duplicate files. My idea was to md5sum every file on the drive, then look for duplicates, and diff the relevant files (just in case, haha). Is this the best way to do this? What are some other methods of checking for duplicate files?

    I have a couple of functions inside a class that essentially do the same thing: public function fn_a(){ return __FUNCTION__; } public function fn_b(){ return __FUNCTION__; } public function fn_c(){ return __FUNCTION__; } I need those functions to remain in their current names so I intentionally did not do: public function fn_($letter){ return __FUNCTION__.$letter; } I was hoping for some sort of way to minify the verboseness of code here, since they all do the same. The ultimate situation would be something like this: public functions fn_a, fn_b, fn_c() { return __FUNCTION__; } Another solution, if applicable, might be doing something like Class's "extends": fn_b, fn_c extend fn_a? What do you think guys?

    I've read in some posts that having duplicate partitioning key can have a performance impact. I've two tables like: CREATE TABLE "Test1" ( CREATE TABLE "Test2" ( key text, key text, column1 text, name text, value text, age text, PRIMARY KEY (key, column1) ... ) PRIMARY KEY (key, name,age) ) In Test1 column1 will contain column name and value will contain its corresponding value.The main advantage of Test1 is that I can add any number of column/value pairs to it without altering the table by just providing same partitioning key each time. Now my question is how will each of these table schema's impact the read/write performance if I've millions of rows and number of columns can be upto 50 in each row. How will it impact the compaction/repair time if I'm writing duplicate entries frequently?

But when I try to create proxies through "Add Service References", I am getting the duplicate proxy classes. If I take out the above OperationContract and re run my services and try to create proxies, then "Add Service References" does not provide duplicate proxies. I am really confused about this!!!     I have a table ('sales') in a MYSQL DB which should have rightfully have had a unique constraint enforced to prevent duplicates. To first remove the dupes and set the constraint is proving a bit tricky. Table structure (simplified): 'id (unique, autoinc)' product_id The goal is to enforce uniqueness for product_id. The de-duping policy I want to apply is to remove all duplicate records except the most recently created, eg: the highest id Or to put another way, I would like to delete duplicate records, excluding the ids matched by the following query: select id from sales s inner join (select product_id, max(id) as maxId from sales group by product_id having count(product_id) > 1) groupedByProdId on s.product_id and s.id = groupedByProdId.maxId I've struggled with this on two fronts - writing the query to select the correct records to delete and then also the constraint in MYSQL where a subselect FROM clause of a DELETE cannot reference the same table from which data is being removed.

Also here is an example that answers a similar question to mine but here he created a hash table with the highest integer value in C++.But the cpp does not allow such to create an array with 2^64 element(on a 64-bit computer).

  • Sql Server XML-type column duplicate entry detection

    In Sql Server I am using an XML type column to store a message. I do not want to store duplicate messages. I only will have a few messages per user. I am currently querying the table for these messages, converting the XML to string in my C# code. I then compare the strings with what I am about to insert. Unfortunately, Sql Server pretty-prints the data in the XML typed fields. What you store into the database is not necessarily exactly the same string as what you get back out later. It is functionally equivalent, but may have white space removed, etc. Is there an efficient way to compare an XML string that I am considering inserting with those that are already in the database? As an aside, if I detect a duplicate I need to delete the older message then insert the replacement.

The client now wants to be able to duplicate these pages any number of times and edit the text within them. So basically, he wants to be have a dozen or so versions of about 4 linked pages.     Hello, I have been looking for a while now but I can not find an easy solution for my problem. I would like to duplicate a record in a table, but of course, the unique primary key needs to be updated. I have this query: INSERT INTO invoices SELECT * FROM invoices AS iv WHERE iv.ID=XXXXX ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE ID = (SELECT MAX(ID)+1 FROM invoices) the proble mis that this just changes the ID of the row instead of copying the row. Does anybody know how to fix this ? Thank you verrry much, Digits //edit: I would like to do this without typing all the field names because the field names can change over time.
