  • How might I escape Unicode characters in a JSON string using JavaScript?

    - by user293006
    JSON String: { "id":31896, "name":"Zickey attitude - McKinley, La Rosi\u00e8re, 21 ao\u00fbt 2006", ... } this causes an unterminated string in JavaScript. My attempt at a solution is: data.replace(/(\S)\1(\1)+/g, ''); or data.replace(/\\u([0-9A-Z])/, ''); any ideas/solution? Example: http://api.jamendo.com/get2/id+name+url+stream+album_name+album_url+album_id+artist_id+artist_name/track/jsonpretty/track_album+album_artist/?n=13&order=ratingmonth_desc&tag_idstr=jazz last node is the problem, fyi. (/\\u([0-9A-Z])/, '\1');

  • How to add characters to reach the maximum size of a char[].

    - by Bon_chan
    Hi folks, I have the following part of code : for(int i=0;i<n;i++) { printf("Student %d\n",i+1); printf("Enter name : "); scanf("%s",&(student+i)->name); fflush(stdin); lengthName = strlen((student+i)->name); while(lengthName !='\0') { }} when the length is shorter than 10, it will add hyphens until reaching the maximum size. Ex : John = 6 hyphens will be added I know how to do it in csharp but can't figure it out in c. Could some of you give me some lights please? PS : Oh yes the variable name is char name[10+1] and it a part of the structure called student.

  • IE6 is duplicating characters, can't figure out why. Suggestions?

    - by Paul
    Problem is located on http://www.preownedweddingdresses.com/ We have a dresses slider at the bottom, select tabs different dresses shown. Works fine everywhere else, but for some reason, in IE6, the letters "ls" (from the tab "Best Deals") are duplicating inside the content and causing rendering issues. I've yet to find anything that can fix this, or anything that can be blamed for causing this either. I've changed the letters at the end of Best Deals, and the duplicated letters change as well. Open to any suggestions.

  • How do I get characters common to two vectors in C++?

    - by Sam Phelps
    I am trying to compare two vector objects, and return a single vector containing all the chars which appear in both vectors. How would I go about this without writing some horribly complex manual method which compares every char in the first vector to every char in the second vector and using an if to add it to a third vector (which would be returned) if they match. Maybe my lack of real experience with vectors is making me imagine this will be harder than it really is, but I suspect there is some simplier way which I have been unable to find through searching.

  • How can I safely decide if a variable is a string of more than one characters?

    - by Alan
    I am using the following Javascript: if (typeof content !== 'undefined' && content.length > 0) { $state.transitionTo('admin.content', { content: content }) } I thought this was safe to use but it gives me an error saying: TypeError: Cannot read property 'length' of null I am using the following function to decide if something is a number: isNumber: function (num) { // Return false if num is null or an empty string if (num === null || (typeof num === "string" && num.length === 0)) { return false; } var rtn = !isNaN(num) return rtn; }, How can I write a similar function that would very safely determine if something is a string with a length of more than 0?

  • Add characters (',') every time a certain character ( , )is encountered ? Python 2.7.3

    - by draconisthe0ry
    Let's say you had a string test = 'wow, hello, how, are, you, doing' and you wanted full_list = ['wow','hello','how','are','you','doing'] i know you would start out with an empty list: empty_list = [] and would create a for loop to append the items into a list i'm just confused on how to go about this, I was trying something along the lines of: for i in test: if i == ',': then I get stuck . . .

  • How to get XML nodes content when names include special Characters?

    - by paoloi
    Im trying to navigate an XML block similar to this one ($doc) using PHP simplexml_load_string and using xpath on $doc to get only the 'Day' block like this: $myday = $doc->xpath ('//Day'); that lets me access all data from the block as an object, meaning $doc-AdultCount returns 1 and $doc-Id returns "6a0" however I can't access "SpecialDeals" content not using: $doc-SpecialDeals nor using: $doc-SpecialDeals-a:string Whats is the right syntax in this case? Thanks in advance. <Days> <DaysId>687</DaysId> <Day> <AdultsCount>1</AdultsCount> <Availability>Available</Availability> <Id>6a0</Id> <RoomType>Studio</RoomType> <SpecialDeals xmlns:a="http://microsoft.com/2003/Arrays"> <a:string>Best Day Ever</a:string> </SpecialDeals> </Day> <DaysPrice>247.4</DaysPrice> </Days>");

  • I need a dictionary-like mapping between characters and other kinds of objects. Which class would be

    - by nullPointerException
    This is in Squeak/Pharo. If I want to have a mapping between Character objects like $a and $b to other kinds of objects, and want to look up those other objects based on the Character, what is the best class to use? Dictionary is an obvious choice, but seems wasteful to be hashing character objects which are basically already numbers. I guess what I want is a kind of array where the character value (number) is used as an index/offset, but I am not sure if this is possible with Unicode.

  • Removing certain characters in all rows that match a regex?

    - by user001
    I'd like to change {foo, {bar}, foobar} to {foo, bar, foobar} in all rows that match '{.*{'. I.e. remove all curly braces { and } except the outer most pair. So doing mysql -h $H -u $U -p$P $DB -B -e "SELECT id FROM t WHERE col REGEXP '{.*{'" > bad.txt selects all the rows that will need this substitution. How do I make this substitution very quickly? EDIT: Could I do it by update table set column = REPLACE(column,'{',''); Then restore the out most pair update table set column = REPLACE(column,'^','{'); update table set column = REPLACE(column,'$','}');

  • How to Concatenate 2 C strings, without overwriting any terminating Null characters?

    - by Ben313
    Hello, I am trying to set up a list of file names for a parameter to SHFileOperation. I want to be able to concatenate a file name onto the char array, but i dont want to get rid of the terminating character. for example, I want this: C:\...\0E:\...\0F:\...\0\0 when i use strcat(), it overwrites the null, so it looks like C:\...E:\...F:\...0\ Is there any easy way to do this? or am i going to have to code a new strcat for myself?

  • Hex characters in varchar() is actually ascii. Need to decode it.

    - by csauve
    This is such an edge-case of a question, I'd be surprised if there is an easy way to do this. I have a MS SQL DB with a field of type varchar(255). It contains a hex string which is actually a Guid when you decode it using an ascii decoder. I know that sounds REALLY weird but here's an example: The contents of the field: "38353334373838622D393030302D343732392D383436622D383161336634396339663931" What it actually represents: "8534788b-9000-4729-846b-81a3f49c9f91" I need a way to decode this, and just change the contents of the field to the actual guid it represents. I need to do this in T-SQL, I cannot use .Net (which if I could, that is remarkably simple).
