  • Modifying CollectionEditor in PropertyGrid

    I currently have a list containing Call's, which is the base class. If I want to add derived classes of Call to the list, I know to do the following. public class CustomCollectionEditor : System.ComponentModel.Design.CollectionEditor { private Type[] types; public CustomCollectionEditor(Type type) : base(type) { types = new Type[] { typeof(Call), typeof(CappedCall) }; } protected override Type[] CreateNewItemTypes() { return types; } } public class DisplayList { public DisplayList() { } [Editor(typeof(CustomCollectionEditor), typeof(UITypeEditor))] [DataMember] public List<Call> ListCalls { get; set; } } My questions is there anyway of moving where you mark up the Type[] containing all possible types the list can contain? I thought of adding the following to my CustomCollectionEditor class, but this doesn't work. public CustomCollectionEditor(Type type, List<Type> types_) : base(type) { types = types_.ToArray(); } It would be ideal if I could mark up which classes the CustomCollectionEditor needed to be aware of in the DisplayList class somehow.

  • mvvm-light: Should we merge Cleanup methods in locator?

    Hi there, when creating a new ViewModel within the locator class using the snippet it creates a Cleanup Method but there is already one available from the Main so hence an error.... Should we merge them all?? Or should we be renaming the method to Cleanup[Name of viewmodel] for example. I am a little confused here Another question i would like to ask is regards to the naming conventions. I tried to follow the naming convention used with "MAIN"... hence i have CreateLogin, ClearLogin, Login (non static property for binding) etc etc.. Would it not be better to use CreateLoginViewModel, ClearLoginViewModel etc?? Just curious Thanks

  • Intellij-Idea: Marking all files of unknown type as text (so that they are searchable)

    Many of my scripts etc in intellij are marked with a question mark. Then when I click on them them it prompts me: The file "bla" cannot be associated with a registered file type. Please choose one: <insert table of file choices> This would not matter except the files are not searchable (with ctrl-shift-n) until they are marked as text. This is a major problem for me. I have an enormous code base and I don't want to mark all of the unknown files as text. Is there anyway that I can do that?

  • Historical / auditable database

    Hi all, This question is related to the schema that can be found in one of my other questions here. Basically in my database I store users, locations, sensors amongst other things. All of these things are editable in the system by users, and deletable. However - when an item is edited or deleted I need to store the old data; I need to be able to see what the data was before the change. There are also non-editable items in the database, such as "readings". They are more of a log really. Readings are logged against sensors, because its the reading for a particular sensor. If I generate a report of readings, I need to be able to see what the attributes for a location or sensor was at the time of the reading. Basically I should be able to reconstruct the data for any point in time. Now, I've done this before and got it working well by adding the following columns to each editable table: valid_from valid_to edited_by If valid_to = 9999-12-31 23:59:59 then that's the current record. If valid_to equals valid_from, then the record is deleted. However, I was never happy with the triggers I needed to use to enforce foreign key consistency. I can possibly avoid triggers by using the extension to the "PostgreSQL" database. This provides a column type called "period" which allows you to store a period of time between two dates, and then allows you to do CHECK constraints to prevent overlapping periods. That might be an answer. I am wondering though if there is another way. I've seen people mention using special historical tables, but I don't really like the thought of maintainling 2 tables for almost every 1 table (though it still might be a possibility). Maybe I could cut down my initial implementation to not bother checking the consistency of records that aren't "current" - i.e. only bother to check constraints on records where the valid_to is 9999-12-31 23:59:59. Afterall, the people who use historical tables do not seem to have constraint checks on those tables (for the same reason, you'd need triggers). Does anyone have any thoughts about this? PS - the title also mentions auditable database. In the previous system I mentioned, there is always the edited_by field. This allowed all changes to be tracked so we could always see who changed a record. Not sure how much difference that might make. Thanks.

    I'm designing an application which will have a network interface for feeding out large numbers of very small metadata requests. The application code itself is very fast, basically looking up data cached in memory and sending it to the client. What's the absolute lowest latency I can get for a network application server running on a linux box? This will be an internal app running on gigE with no authentication. Any language/framework considered, with a preference for C, C++, or Python. Likewise for protocol, although HTTP would be nice.

    I have an XSLT transform I am using to process an XML file, inserting it into the body of my aspx page. Reference the following for background information: background on xml/xslt I have the following in my xml file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" xmlns:msxsl="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:xslt" exclude-result-prefixes="msxsl" xmlns:myCustomStrings="urn:customStrings"> <xsl:output method="xml" version="2.0" media-type="text/html" omit-xml-declaration="yes" indent="yes" />...unrelated stuff left out here Here is the output that is relevent: <div id="example" /> <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><div xmlns:myCustomStrings="urn:customStrings"><div id="imFormBody" class="imFormBody"> My question relates to the output, specifically to the <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> which is getting included in the output anyway. Is the issue related to the custom method I have used? If so, I don't really see the need to include the xml part as the namespace is in the div tag. Is there a way to ensure that this extra stuff gets left out as I asked it to?

  • Getting Safari document title/location with Scripting Bridge does not work in full-screen mode

    I'm trying to get the URL and document title from the topmost Safari document/tab. I have an AppleScript and an objective-c version using Apple's Scripting Bridge framework. Both versions work fine for most web pages, however when I open a Youtube video in full-screen mode, the Scripting Bridge based version fails. The Apple Script works fine for "normal" and full-screen Safari windows. Can anyone see what is wrong with the Scripting Bridge code below to cause it to fail for full-screen Safari windows?     Is there an easy way to disable Python egg caching? We have the situation where a system account needs to run a python program which imports a module. Since this is a non-login robot account, it does not have a home directory, and dies trying to create the directory /.python-eggs. What's the best way to fix this? Can I convert my eggs in site-files to something which will not be cached in .python-eggs?

  • Why can't I get my Azure, WCF, REST, SSL project working? What am I doing wrong?

    I'm trying to get SSL, WCF and REST under Azure, but the page won't even load. Here are the steps I followed: 1) I mapped the www.mydomain.com CNAME to my azuresite.cloudapp.net 2) I procured an SSL certificate for www.mydomain.com and properly installed it at my azuresite.cloudapp.net hosted service project 3) I deployed my WCF REST service to Azure and started it. Below is my web.config configuration. The http (non-https) binding version worked correctly. My service URL, http: //www.mydomain .com/service.svc/sessions worked just fine. When I deployed the project with the web.config below, enabling SSL, https: //www.mydomain .com/service.svc/sessions does not even pull up at all.   • iPhone 4.0 on iPhone but still Ad-Hoc compile for 3.1.3?

    Device: Version : 3.1 Build: 3511 Device: iPhone OS: iPhone OS 4.0 xCode 3.2.2 (Old) xCode 3.2.3 (New; For iPhone 4.0 Beta) Background: As you can see I installed 4.0 on my iPhone as I read on this forum it's really hard to near impossible to downgrade back to 3.1.3, but it's my only device I have and use for development. When I try to continue to develop and build with the old xCode it tells me that "No provisioned iPhone OS device is connected". When I select Simulator it does compile and build, however when I spread this file it does not work on the devices of my testers, they get a Signed error. When I run the new xCode, it does compile and build on the Device and when I spread this file, it does work on the devices of my testers (which are running the current official version 3.1.3). Questions: Why is there a difference between building for Simulator and Device? A simulator build never seem to work on the devices of my testers because of signing issues and the build for device does work. Currently it seems the old xCode became useless, however I read that you may not use the Beta xCode to build your application for release. So knowing the above how am I able to pull this off with my current setup due the fact the old xCode won't let me build properly.

  • Using a edit template without using Html.EditorFor()

    I have a date time picker combination in a edit template that can be used like Html.EditorFor(x = x.ETA) but now I want to use the same template somewhere where I don't have a model that contains a DateTime property. So I tried Html.Editor("DateWithTime", "Arrival") which uses the correct template, but doesn't assign a value to ViewData.ModelMetadata.PropertyName which is something that my template relies on. It sets the id of the textbox which is obviously important. Is there a way to render the template and assign a id value to the ViewData.ModelMetadata.PropertyName so I can re-use the logic in the template instead of having to copy it?

  • asp.net Membership : Extending Role membership?

    Hi there, I am been taking a look at asp.net membership and it seems to provide everything that i need but i need some kind of custom Role functionality. Currently i can add user to a role, great. But i also need to be able to add Permissions to Roles.. i.e. Role: Editor Permissions: Can View Editor Menu, Can Write to Editors Table, Can Delete Entries in Editors Table. Currently it doesn't support this, The idea behind this is to create a admin option in my program to create a role and then assign permissions to a role to say "allow the user to view a certain part of the application", "allow the user to open a menu item" Any ideas how i would implement soemthing like this? I presume a custom ROLE provider but i was wondering if some kind of framework extension existed already without rolling my own? Or anybody knows a good tutorial of how to tackle this issue? I am quite happy with what asp.net SQL provider has created in terms of tables etc... but i think i need to extend this by adding another table called RolesPermissions and then I presume :-) adding some kind of enumeration into the table for each valid permission??   • Combining deflate and minify - am i creating overhead?

    I minify my css and js files on the fly with google.codes minify. I have also set my .htaccess to use deflate on all my css and js files - the reason beeing some js files (like shadowbox and tinymce) reference to other js files in the code. So i'm compressing with apache deflate and also minify compresses some js and css files with gzip - am i creating overhead by doing this - first gzipping (minify) and then zlib (deflate) will run through again. Or will apache deflate ignore the already gzipped files having the attributes set by minify in the headers. Anyone have any experiences with this?

They would accumulate a balance owing, and then every week they would be charged for that amount. Is there a way I can do this without having to store their credit card information in my database?     Hi everyone, I am incorporating a Flash Flickr Polaroid file into my site, http://www.no3dfx.com/polaroid/ But I am having problems with the images being smooth. I have edited the code throughout with forceSmoothing = true and _quality = best. It all works and looks smooth if I test the file in the preview window and if I run the HTML file. But as soon as I put the file under IIS the smoothing stops. All my flash players are v10+ I have turned the IIS compression off but no luck. Can anyone please help with this? Thanks, Clyde

Usually you want to use the same event handler for all download items, so it's a bit annoying to have to set the event handlers over and over again for each DownloadItem.
