  • How do I Setup Multiple Sites in HostGator Shared Hosting?

    - by cillosis
I recently decided to consolidate all of my random projects into a single hosting account as it was starting to get very expensive to run each on an individual hosting plan. I purchased the HostGator Baby plan which allows hosting of multiple domains. You have to set it up with a root domain name which is fine (I used my portfolio domain name). As far as file structure, I wanted a folder for each site in /public_html so the structure looks like this: - public_html/ - myportfolio.com/ - ... my files ... - anothersite.com/ - ... my files ... - thirdsite.com/ - ... my files ... I setup add-on domains and pointed them to their respective folders which works fine. My problem is the root domain ex. myportfolio.com expects it's files to be contained at the root of /public_html rather than within it's folder I created. I setup a redirect to point requests for myportfolio.com to myportfolio.com/myportfolio.com/ which works initially except (at least in my WordPress installation) it still references it's root folder as public_html. TL;DR; What is the best way to go about setting up multiple site hosting in a shared hosting environment (i.e. I can't setup vhosts). Does anybody know of any tutorials or videos that walk through this more clearly? Thanks.

  • Public DNS redirect subdomain to Windows Server 2003 DNS

    - by user125248
I'm a programmer by trade but often dabble in sysadmin tasks and responsibilities. I have recently been tasked with setting up a Windows Server 2003 networking environment for a small business with multiple branches. The business already has a domain name they use to host a website at www.example.com. Currently the DNS nameservers are at Zerigo and I would very much like it to remain that way (as they specialize in just providing DNS services and they do this very well). We also have a bunch of other subdomains we use to conviniently connect to the various branches that have static IPs assigned from ISPs, so we're able to connect easily to branch1.example.com. Is it possible to 'redirect' all intranet.example.com DNS requests to a Windows box? I've been doing a little reading and I see there are NS records that might be able to do this, and the Windows DNS server could then perform all of the lookups for that subdomain, say, server1.intranet.example.com or client5.intranet.example.com. This would seem better to me, than registering a new domain name for the organisation, as keeping a single domain name makes more organizational sense.

  • How to redirect all Internet traffic to OpenVPN Server

    - by JuliaS
I have seen working solutions around the issue of forcing Internet traffic to go through the OpenVPN server but they are all done in Linux, all I want to know is how to add an entry to the route table in windows to make this happen. connectivity between the client and server is fine, my Windows 7 client can establish a connection to the Windows 2008 Server, but when established Internet traffic is still going from the local Windows 7 machine. Here are the details: Server: Windows 2008 Server with one NIC OpenVPN IP Address: 192.168.0.1 Local NIC IP Address (connects the server to the Internet): 10.242.69.107 Client: Windows 7 with one NIC OpenVPN IP Address: 192.168.0.2 ISP allocated IP Address: 10.0.8.2 (gateway 10.0.8.1) Server OpenVPN Config: dev tun ifconfig 192.168.0.1 192.168.0.2 secret static.key push "redirect-gateway def1" Client OpenVPN Config: remote xxx.xxx.com dev tun ifconfig 192.168.0.2 192.168.0.1 secret static.key I'm not an expert with adding routes...etc. I would be grateful if someone could let me know how to add this entry in my server/client route table. • htaccess not properly rewriting urls

    - by Cameron Ball
This is a bit of a weird one. I'm doing some work on a server, and I need rewrite rules for directories that actually exist (in some cases, they are more than one level deep) At the moment my .htaccess looks like this: RewriteEngine on RewriteRule ^simfiles/([-\ a-zA-Z0-9:/]+)$ http://mydomain.com/?portal=simfiles&folder=$1 [L] And this is working OK, for example, a url like: mydomain.com/sifmiles/my-files Will get redirected to mydomain.com/?portal=simfiles&folder=my-files Or in the case of a directory structure that is deeper than one level: mydomain.com/sifmiles/my-files/more-of-my-files Will get redirected to mydomain.com/?portal=simfiles&folder=my-files/more-of-my-files I wrote the regex so that it won't match things with a . in the path, because there are css and js files which reside in simfiles/somedirectory, and if I redirect everything then these cannot be loaded. I tried a configuration like this: RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteRule ^simfiles/([-\ a-zA-Z0-9:/\.]+)$ http://mydomain.com/?portal=simfiles&folder=$1 [L] But that doesn't work, things still don't load properly. So my first question is, how can I achieve this "properly"? I don't like my solution because it means redirects won't occur if the folder has a . in its name. My second problem, is that while the redirection is happening properly, the url becomes: http://mydomain.com/?portal=simfiles&folder=my-files I want the URL to remain clean, like: http://mydomain.com/sifmiles/my-files How can I achieve this?

  • Nginx all subdomain points to one subdomain (gitlab) rule

    - by Alkimake
I have installed gitlab on my server and use nginx as http server... I simply used recipe for gitlab on nginx # GITLAB # Maintainer: @randx # App Version: 3.0 upstream gitlab { server unix:/home/gitlab/gitlab/tmp/sockets/gitlab.socket; } server { listen 192.168.250.81:80; # e.g., listen 192.168.1.1:80; server_name gitlab.xxx.com; # e.g., server_name source.example.com; root /home/gitlab/gitlab/public; # individual nginx logs for this gitlab vhost access_log /var/log/nginx/gitlab_access.log; error_log /var/log/nginx/gitlab_error.log; location / { # serve static files from defined root folder;. # @gitlab is a named location for the upstream fallback, see below try_files $uri $uri/index.html $uri.html @gitlab; } # if a file, which is not found in the root folder is requested, # then the proxy pass the request to the upsteam (gitlab unicorn) location @gitlab { proxy_read_timeout 300; # https://github.com/gitlabhq/gitlabhq/issues/694 proxy_connect_timeout 300; # https://github.com/gitlabhq/gitlabhq/issues/694 proxy_redirect off; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-Proto $scheme; proxy_set_header Host $http_host; proxy_set_header X-Real-IP $remote_addr; proxy_pass http://gitlab; } } gitlab.xxx.com works fine and i get gitlab web documents. But if i want another subdomain i use for Jira (jira.xxx.com) on port 80 (i setup jira on 8080 port normally) gets gitlab web site also. How can i restrict this rule only serving for gitlab, or may be i can redirect jira.xxx.com to jira.xxx.com:8080

  • Force SSL on one page via .htaccess without looping

    - by Will Martin
Okay, I have this code: RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/borrowing/ill/request\.php$ RewriteRule ^.*$ https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [R,L] The way I would expect this to work is: A request for /borrowing/ill/request.php comes in on HTTP. The rule matches. The server redirects to HTTPS. The rule does not match, because HTTPS is now on. The way it actually works is: A request for /borrowing/ill/request.php comes in on HTTP. The rule matches. The server redirects to HTTPS. The rule matches. The server redirects to HTTPS. The rule matches. The server redirects to HTTPS ... And so on. I know that the second condition (matching the file name) is working, because the redirect loop only hits that specific page. The question is, why isn't the switch to HTTPS causing the first condition to not match? EDIT: I put the exact same .htaccess rules into a test area on another server -- same file and path info. And they worked just fine. There's got to be something wrong with the server configuration elsewhere.

  • Linux Port 80 to redirect to a Windows box

    - by Richard Staehler
I have 2 servers here at work. One is a Windows 2008 Server R2 (for safety's sake, lets use 192.168.1.100) and the other is a Fedora 14 (192.168.1.101). Currently when you hit our subdomain, x.test.com, our routers tell it to go to our Fedora box, and since Apache is installed and listening to port 80, it displays the Fedora Apache Test Page. It's obvious that I don't use port 80 for this machine, however I do use NAGIOS on it and its always nice to be able to access that from anywhere in the world. So when I want to access it, I just type x.test.com/nagios. Now here comes the dilemma.... On the Windows R2 box, we recently have installed a program that requires us to setup a web server using IIS7. Because of this application, I'm going to be creating a new subdomain called y.test.com, but since we only have 1 WAN/router, it will still get pointed to our Fedora box. That being said, it wants to use port 80 as well (or whatever port I damn well wish to assign it). So my question is: since our router is pointing to the Fedora 14 box (.101), and I want to make sure I can access NAGIOS from anywhere in the world, how do I tell Apache (httpd) to redirect port 80 to the other server (.100)? If not possible, what are my other options? I have rinetd installed on Fedora and have even tried the option 192.168.1.101 80 192.168.1.100 80 and it didn't seem to work "because port 80 was already bound" Thoughts? and Thanks!

  • Canonical Redirect on Dynamic Mass Virtual Hosts on Apache

    - by Josh
I have a Web app on Apache that allows users to point their domain to the server. Right now I'm using Apache's dynamic mass virtual hosts with an entry VirtualDocumentRoot /www/hosts/%0/docs So with www.companydomain.com it points to /www/hosts/www.companydomain.com/docs The problem is when the user goes to companydomain.com it will point to /www/hosts/companydomain.com/docs Is there an easy way to automatically have Apache check to see if a directory exists for the virtual host, and if not, look for the host name with "www." in front of it? Other subdomains are fine (i.e. abc.domain.com should point to a diff. directory than def.domain.com) but the whole "www" issue is a mystery to me. I am using dynamic mass virtual hosts so the server does not have to restart after each registration for the application. If there is a different way that is fine as long as apache isn't restarted each time. How can I accomplish this? Worst case scenario if there were a way to redirect to a "default" location on the server if not found I could always do a check via PHP or something but I feel like that is a bit hacked together and there has to be a more efficient way. Thanks in advance!

  • httpd Redirect / Rewrite .com to .org

    - by David W
I am trying to redirect a www.example.com to www.example.org. I cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong. I have ensured that mod_rewrite is enabled in httpd.conf with: LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so I further verify this by running: httpd -M and getting rewrite_module (shared) included in the results. Later in the same httpd.conf file is the VirtualHost directive where I am trying to perform the rewrite: <VirtualHost *:80> Options +FollowSymlinks RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^example.com [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.example.org/$1 [R=301,NC,L] ServerAdmin [email protected] DocumentRoot /var/www/html ServerName example.org ServerAlias www.example.org *.example.org <Directory "/var/www/html"> Options Includes FollowSymLinks AllowOverride All Order allow, deny Allow from all </Directory> ErrorLog /var/www/logs/error_log CustomLog /var/www/logs/access_log common </VirtualHost> As we can see, we are following SymLinks in the directory (which I believe is a requirement), AND we allow All Overrides (which meets another requirement). But obviously I'm still doing something wrong. Can you spot it?

  • make local only daemon listening on different interface (using iptables port forwarding)?

    - by UniIsland
i have a daemon program which listens on 127.0.0.1:8000. i need to access it when i connect to my box with vpn. so i want it to listen on the ppp0 interface too. i've tried the "ssh -L" method. it works, but i don't think it's the right way to do that, having an extra ssh process running in the background. i tried the "netcat" method. it exits when the connection is closed. so not a valid way for "listening". i also tried several iptables rules. none of them worked. i'm not listing here all the rules i've used. iptables -A FORWARD -j ACCEPT iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -i ppp+ -p tcp --dport 8000 -j DNAT --to-destination 127.0.0.1:8000 the above ruleset doesn't work. i have net.ipv4.ip_forward set to 1. anyone knows how to redirect traffic from ppp interface to lo? say, listen on "192.168.45.1:8000 (ppp0)" as well as "127.0.0.1:8000 (lo)" there's no need to alter the port. thanx

  • subdomain .htaccess redirection via ssh remote port forwarding

    - by Achim
I ask you to help me URL redirecting a subdomain to a SSH remote forwarded port: The current setup is the following: The server A have a local webserver running on port 80. This server is connected to a DSL line or a GPRS connection where the IP address changes often. To prevent a DynDNS setup we established a SSH remote port forwarding to a server B with a static IP adress. This is done on server A by the following statement: ssh -N -p 80 -g -R 10000:localhost:80 tunneling@<Server B IP> So by accessing the new port 10000 of the servers B IP-adress, all traffic is forwarded to the server A port 80 - this works fine! But to offer a more comfortable url to the user I want to hide the server B IP-adress and offer a subdomain. My domain provider allows to add subdomains and redirections to some other servers. In general, this works, I've tested this with different servers. But it don't work if the destination is the port forwarded port of server B. The initial redirection is done, the request is send to server A and the response are forwarded to server B and shown in the browser - fine. But then the URL within the browser is switched away from the subdomain to the IP:port of server B. So the user don't see the subdomain in the URL string of the browser anymore. I've tried this with my providers subdomain redirection, as well as .htaccess redirect, as well as META refresh, the problem always persist. Is there a parameter in the ssh reverse forwarding setup (I guess this is the place where the fix have to be) to keep the typed in subdomain URL and not show the IP. Thanks Achim

  • 403.4 won't redirect in IE7

    - by Jeremy Morgan
I have a secured folder that requires SSL. I have set it up in IIS(6) to require SSL. We don't want the visitors to be greeted with the "must be secure connection" error, so I have modified the 403.4 error page to contain the following: function redirectToHttps() { var httpURL = window.location.hostname+window.location.pathname; var httpsURL = "https://" + httpURL ; window.location = httpsURL ; } redirectToHttps(); And this solution works great for every browser, but IE7. On any other browser, if you type in http://www.mysite.com/securedfolder it will automatically redirect you to https://www.mysite.com/securedfolder with no message or anything (the intended action). But in Internet Explorer 7 ONLY it will bring up a page that says The website declined to show this webpage Most Likely Causes: This website requires you to log in This is something we don't want of course. I have verified that javascript is enabled, and the security settings have no effect, even when I set them to the lowest level I get the same error. I'm wondering, has anyone else seen this before?

  • Nginx infinite redirect loop

    - by Zachary Burt
Why is http://compassionpit.com/blog/ going through an infinite redirect loop? Here's my nginx conf file. • IIS 7 doesn't do a 301 redirect

    - by rohde
Hi there! I have just migrated some sites to IIS7 from IIS6, and am experiencing problems with one of the sites. When a request comes in for the site (www.ourdomain.com/site1/) with a trailing slash everything is fine. But if the trailing slash is left out (www.ourdomain.com/site1), then the request fails. Apparently it doesn't do a 301 redirect on the slashl-less URL, resulting in ASP.NET throwing an exception. This is not happening with the other sites at the same domain. What can be the cause of this? EDIT: The exception I get is this: System.Web.HttpException: Failed to Execute URL. at System.Web.Hosting. ISAPIWorkerRequestInProcForIIS6.BeginExecuteUrl(String url, String method, String childHeaders, Boolean sendHeaders, Boolean addUserIndo, IntPtr token, String name, String authType, Byte[] entity, AsyncCallback cb, Object state) at System.Web.HttpResponse.BeginExecuteUrlForEntireResponse(String pathOverride, NameValueCollection requestHeaders, AsyncCallback cb, Object state) at System.Web.DefaultHttpHandler.BeginProcessRequest(HttpContext context, AsyncCallback callback, Object state) at System.Web.HttpApplication.CallHandlerExecutionStep.System.Web.HttpApplication.IExecutionStep.Execute() at System.Web.HttpApplication.ExecuteStep(IExecutionStep step, Boolean& completedSynchronously)

  • .htaccess redirect to error page if port is not 80

    - by Momo
I'm running a portable server through usb stick. The thing is I also have WAMP installed in my local machine and Apache somehow gets started on windows startup, because of some random reason which I don't recall now and it can't be changed. I want to prepare my portable server in situations like this, so closing httpd.exe from process and starting my portable server is not an option. Anyway, because of already active httpd.exe my portable server's WordPress site can only be accessed through localhost:81 - this is a problem as WP site is very dependent on the URL and I don't want to include the url with port on WP database. Here is what I want to do through .htaccess: On any path except for error.php file check if not port 80 If not port 80 redirect to /error.php?code=port It it possible for it to have priority over WP redirection or URL handling? In the error.php I provided info on how to manually close httpd.exe and such so my family and friends can access the portable site. It's sort of like a gallery and calender application for events and other such stuff... Please help? I'm I can't figure it out at all. I know others may not have apache already running, but I want to prepare for such a situation. Something like the following, but the following doesn't work. # BEGIN WordPress <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> <If "%{SERVER_PORT} = 80"> RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule . /index.php [L] </If> <Else> RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^(error.php)($|/) - [L] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /error.php?code=port [L] </Else> </IfModule> # END WordPress By the way, the portable server Server2Go automatically generates vhosts based o the hostname set on it's config file and changes ports if the port (e.g. 80) is already open.

  • Apache Server Redirect Subdomain to Port

    - by Matt Clark
I am trying to setup my server with a Minecraft server on a non-standard port with a subdomain redirect, which when navigated to by minecraft will go to its correct port, or if navigated to by a web browser will show a web-page. i.e.: **Minecraft** minecraft.example.com:25565 -> example.com:25465 **Web Browser** minecraft.example.com:80 -> Displays HTML Page I am attempting to do this by using the following VirtualHosts in Apache: Listen 25565 <VirtualHost *:80> ServerAdmin [email protected] ServerName minecraft.example.com DocumentRoot /var/www/example.com/minecraft <Directory /> Options FollowSymLinks AllowOverride None </Directory> <Directory /var/www/example.com/minecraft/> Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews AllowOverride None Order allow, deny allow from all </Directory> </VirtualHost> <VirtualHost *:25565> ServerAdmin [email protected] ServerName minecraft.example.com ProxyPass / http://localhost:25465 retry=1 acquire=3000 timeout=6$ ProxyPassReverse / http://localhost:25465 </VirtualHost> Running this configuration when I browse to minecraft.example.com I am able to see the files in the /var/www/example.com/minecraft/ folder, however if I try and connect in minecraft I get an exception, and in the browser I get a page with the following information: minecraft.example.com:25565 -> Proxy Error The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server. The proxy server could not handle the request GET /. Reason: Error reading from remote server Could anybody share some insight on what I may be doing wrong and what the best possible solution would be to fix this? Thanks.

  • OwnCloud RSA certificate configured for SERVER- ISSUE, webpage has a redirect loop

    - by jmituzas
I had Owncloud running on a server that had died, I remember installing being easy, I have migrated server and Owncloud is one of the last apps to install. Ok Just downloaded and installed the newest version of Owncloud on a Ubuntu 14.04 server with PHP 5.5.9-1, I am trying the manual install. I have tried adding repo and installing from apt-get install owncloud, did not work for me :/, whereis owncloud reported nothing. It's installed but never was able to bring up site. Now for my issue I finished the manual install from .tar.bz2 when it came time to login I receive "This webpage has a redirect loop" , I receive the error from Chrome and Safari web browsers. I can't login at all, with no user, I get the error page. Don't know if it is related or not but here's a look at the owncloud-error.log "RSA certificate configured for "mysite.com" Does NOT include an ID which matches the server name" Installed new ssl cert with CN as my ServerName directive in the vhost config file, same error :/ Re-installed owncloud same issue... Out of ideas. Thanks in advance, jmituzas

  • How can I avoid my web browser from redirecting to localhost using WAMP in Windows7?

    - by Josh
I'm currently using Windows 7 with WAMP to try and work on some software, but my web browsers will not accept cookies from the "localhost" domain. I tried creating a few bogus domains in my hosts file by pointing them to 127.0.0.1 but when I type them in I am automatically redirected back to localhost. I have also configured virtualhosts in apache to correspond with the domains I added to the hosts file and it still redirects back to localhost. Is there anything special I must do on Windows 7 to get around this localhost redirect? Thanks for looking :) I'll include my host file here: # Copyright (c) 1993-2009 Microsoft Corp. # # This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows. # # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each # entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should # be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name. # The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one # space. # # Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual # lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol. # # For example: # # 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host # localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself. # 127.0.0.1 localhost # ::1 localhost 127.0.0.1 magento.localhost.com www.localhost.com Thanks for looking :)

  • Nginx configuration leads to endless redirect loop

    - by brianthecoder
    So I've looked at every sample configuration I could find and yet every time I try and view a page that requires ssl, I end up in an redirect loop. I'm running nginx/0.8.53 and passenger 3.0.2. Here's the ssl config server { listen 443 default ssl; server_name <redacted>.com www.<redacted>.com; root /home/app/<redacted>/public; passenger_enabled on; rails_env production; ssl_certificate /home/app/ssl/<redacted>.com.pem; ssl_certificate_key /home/app/ssl/<redacted>.key; proxy_set_header X-Real-IP $remote_addr; proxy_set_header X_FORWARDED_PROTO https; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for; proxy_set_header Host $http_host; proxy_set_header X-Url-Scheme $scheme; proxy_redirect off; proxy_max_temp_file_size 0; location /blog { rewrite ^/blog(/.*)?$ http://blog.<redacted>.com/$1 permanent; } location ~* \.(js|css|jpg|jpeg|gif|png)$ { if (-f $request_filename) { expires max; break; } } error_page 500 502 503 504 /50x.html; location = /50x.html { root html; } } Here's the non-ssl config server { listen 80; server_name <redacted>.com www.<redacted>.com; root /home/app/<redacted>/public; passenger_enabled on; rails_env production; location /blog { rewrite ^/blog(/.*)?$ http://blog.<redacted>.com/$1 permanent; } location ~* \.(js|css|jpg|jpeg|gif|png)$ { if (-f $request_filename) { expires max; break; } } error_page 500 502 503 504 /50x.html; location = /50x.html { root html; } } Let me know if there's any additional info I can give to help diagnose the issue.

  • nginx redirect what is not coming from load balancing

    - by dawez
I have nginx on SERVER1 that is acting as load balancing between SERVER1 and SERVER2 in SERVER1 I have the upstreams for the load balancing defined as : upstream de.server.com { # similar upstreams defined also for other languages # SELF SERVER1 server 127.0.0.1:8082 weight=3 max_fails=3 fail_timeout=2; # other SERVER2 server otherserverip:8082 max_fails=3 fail_timeout=2; } The load balancing config on SERVER1 is this one: server { listen 80; server_name ~^(?<LANG>de|es|fr)\.server\.com; location / { proxy_pass http://$LANG.server.com; proxy_set_header Host $host; proxy_set_header X-Real-IP $remote_addr; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for; # trying to pass a variable in the header to SERVER2 proxy_set_header Is-From-Load-Balancer 1; } } Then in server 2 I have: server { listen 8082; server_name localhost; root /var/www/server.com/public; # test output values add_header testloadbalancer $http_is_from_load_balancer; add_header testloadbalancer2 not_load_bal; ## other stuff here to process the request } I can see the "testloadbalancer" in the response header is set to 1 when the request is coming from the load balancing, it is not present when from a direct access: SERVER2:8082 . I would like to bounce back to the SERVER1 all the direct requests that are sent to SERVER2, but keep the ones from the load balancing. So this should forbid direct access to SERVER2:8082 and redirect to SERVER1:80 .

  • How to make lighttpd respect X-Forwarded-Proto when constructing redirects for directories?

    - by Tim Landscheidt
We have an nginx proxy at tools.wmflabs.org that receives requests by http and https and passes them by http on to lighttpds on a grid (one lighttpd per top-level path). Requests that reach the proxy by https are received by the lighttpds like this: HEAD /lighttpd-test/test HTTP/1.1 Connection: close Host: tools.wmflabs.org X-Forwarded-Proto: https X-Original-URI: /lighttpd-test/test User-Agent: curl/7.29.0 Accept: */* This works great except in the case where the URL references a physical directory and misses the trailing slash ("/"), as lighttpd then generates a redirect to the http URL: HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently Location: http://tools.wmflabs.org/lighttpd-test/test/ Connection: close Date: Fri, 06 Jun 2014 14:50:29 GMT Server: lighttpd/1.4.28 The relevant parts of our lighttpd configurations are: server.modules = ( "mod_setenv", "mod_access", "mod_accesslog", "mod_alias", "mod_compress", "mod_redirect", "mod_rewrite", "mod_fastcgi", "mod_cgi", ) server.port = $port [...] server.document-root = "$home/public_html" [...] server.follow-symlink = "enable" [...] server.stat-cache-engine = "fam" ssl.engine = "disable" alias.url = ( "/$tool" => "$home/public_html/" ) index-file.names = ( "index.php", "index.html", "index.htm" ) dir-listing.encoding = "utf-8" server.dir-listing = "disable" url.access-deny = ( "~", ".inc" ) [...] How can I make lighttpd respect X-Forwarded-Proto and use it when constructing redirects for directories? I'm aware that I could try to tackle this in nginx, but I'd prefer if I can fix it in lighttpd.
