    Is it possible to create an AlertDialog, or custom Dialog wit an EditText box? If not, how do I make an activity window floatable. What I want to do is show a screen with some text, a small box for the user to enter a couple digits, and then a submit and cancel button, and am trying to find out the best way to do this.

  • Disable keyboard input on Android TimePicker

    I'm developing and Android app using the 1.6 sdk. I'm using a TimePicker and I don't want the soft keyboard to come up when you click on the digits in the TimePicker. I only want the TimePicker to be changed using the plus and minus buttons. I've tried using android:focusable="false" and android:focusableInTouchMode="false" hoping those would do it, but they didn't seem to do anything. Is there a way to do this?

    Hi all, I have a UISlider that slides with a range from 0.0 to 1.0. Out of the box, the slider lets users slide with a really high number of fraction digits, but I only want my users to be able to increment/decrement by .001 for each "tick" up or down of the slider. For those setting... viewer.dataDetectorTypes = UIDataDetectorTypePhoneNumber; on a web view works.     I need to write an algorithm(I cannot use any 3rd party library, because this is an assignment) to divide(integer division, floating parts are not important) very large numbers like 100 - 1000 digits. I found http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fourier_division algorithm but I don't know if it's the right way to go. Do you have any suggestions?

    I'm working on a regex to match valid integer numbers such as the following: 0 1 99 999 However it should not allow matching an empty string. The closest I can get is: (0)|\\d{1,3} Which to me says a matching string will have either a zero or a series of digits between 1 and 3 characters long. However, empty strings still appear to match this pattern. What's the proper way to exclude empty strings from this regex?

    Hello, I am trying to make a program in Java that checks for three specific inputs. It has to be 1. At least 7 characters. 2. Contain both upper and lower case alphabetic characters. 3. Contain at least 1 digit. So far I have been able to make it check if there is 7 characters, but I am having trouble with the last two. What should I put in my loop as an if statement to check for digits and make it upper and lower case. Any help would be greatly appreciated. What I want is to be able to print a double (or float) with a maximum given number of digits after the decimal point. If I use: printf("%1.3f", 359.01335); printf("%1.3f", 359.00999); I get 359.013 359.010 Instead of the desired 359.013 359.01 Can anybody help me?

    I want to generate a graph with a large decimal number like -106.63633167743683 or 52.132235169410706. But whenever I'm entering the value in Excel sheet it is giving me value like -106.63633167743600 (as I have formatted cell with 15 decimal places). It is replacing the value of last two digits by 0. Can anyone help regarding this please?
