  • Java Deflater strategies - DEFAULT_STRATEGY, FILTERED and HUFFMAN_ONLY

    I'm trying to find a balance between performance and degree of compression when gzipping a Java webapp response. In looking at the Deflater class, I can set a level and a strategy. The levels are self explanatory - BEST_SPEED to BEST_COMPRESSION. I'm not sure regarding the strategies - DEFAULT_STRATEGY, FILTERED and HUFFMAN_ONLY I can make some sense from the Javadoc but I was wondering if someone had used a specific strategy in their apps and if you saw any difference in terms of performance / degree of compression.     Hi I would like to implement a search functionality within my iPhone app which can search for terms within all the documents in the application. I believe I cannot use Apache Lucene directly since it is in Java. Can I use Lucy which is a C port of Lucene (not sure if Perl and Ruby would work on it)? Or is there any other open-source search engine which I can use in my iPhone app for search within the app? Thanks

  • Drupal Views display newest content per taxonomy limit to one node

    Hi, I want to create a view where all 5 of my taxonomy terms are displayed and it then displays the latest node published but this is limited by 1. For Example: Tax Term 1 Latest node published Tax Term 2 Latest node published etc etc Currently I'm grouping by taxonomy term so it's displaying all nodes published then sorted by published date desc. I can't quite figure out how to limit the nodes to only show one item per taxonomy term. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That way is doesn't show up inside the application bundle as a file and it's not subject to manipulation by a user (whether good-intentioned or bad). Is this even possible?     I'm thinking of creating a multi-tenant app using MongoDB. I don't have any guesses in terms of how many tenants I'd have yet, but I would like to be able to scale into the thousands. I can think of three strategies: All tenants in the same collection, using tenant-specific fields for security 1 Collection per tenant in a single shared DB 1 Database per tenant The voice in my head is suggesting that I go with option 2.     Hi all, I'm stuck on a MDX query, I'm trying to retrieve the following results: [Time].[2009] [Time].[2010] [Time].[Months].Members [Measures].[Sales] [Measures].[Sales] So I would like to compare the sales which were in 2009 against 2010 by month. In terms of a chart I would have two series one for 2009 and 2010, the y axis would be the sales value and the x axis would be the month. Any ideas on how to approach this? Thanks in advance

    I find the repetition of sets of controls for each of the EditItemTemplate, InsertItemTemplate, and ItemTemplate templates of a FormView to be tedious and risky, in terms duplicating layout and code etc. I would much rather create a xxxDetails user control, and use this in each template, cutting layout and code location down to one location. However, this introduces several complexities for data binding scenarios. Are there any extablished patterns or practice guides for using user controls in these scenarios?
