XML pass values to timer, AS3

My timer has three variables that I can trace to the output window, but don't know how to pass them to the timer. How to I pass the XML values to my timer? Hi all, I have quite the process that we go through in order to display some e-mail communications in our application. Getting level values from PCM raw data using Core Audio

I am trying to extract level data from a PCM audio file using core audio. I have gotten as far as (I believe) getting the raw data into a byte array (UInt8) but it is 16 bit PCM data and I am having trouble reading the data out. Manipulating values from database table with php

I currently have 5 tables in MySQL database. Some of them share foreign keys and are interdependent of each other. I am displaying classes accordingly to their majors. Each class is taught during the fall, spring or all_year. In my database I have a table named semester which has an id, year, and semester fields. The semester field in particular is a tinyint that has three values 0, 1, 2. This signifies the fall, spring or all_year. When I display the query instead of having it show 0 or 1 or 2 can I have it show fall, spring etc? Extra: How can I add space to the end of each loop so the data doesn't look clustered? HTML Canvas: Should my app x, y values be global?

I have a large file of functions. Each of these functions is responsible for drawing a particular part of the application. My app has x and y parameters that I use in the setup function to move the whole app around in order to try different placements. So, naturally, I need to use these x and y values to anchor each function's component rendering so that everything moves in unison if the global x,y values ever change. My question is, is it bad practice/architecture to have these x,y values in the global namespace and having the each function directly access them like so? function renderFace() { var x = App.x; var y = App.y; // drawing here } is there a better way i'm missing?

Complex SQL query help on aggregating values for nested subquery

Hi! I have people, companies, employees, events and event kinds. I'm making a report/followup sheet where people, companies and employees are the rows, and the columns are event kinds. Event kinds are simple values describing: "Promised Donation", "Received Donation", "Phoned", "Followed up" and such. Event kinds are ordered: CREATE TABLE event_kinds ( id, name, position); Events hold the actual reference to the event: CREATE TABLE events ( id, person_id, company_id, referrer_id, event_kind_id, created_at); referrer_id is another reference to people. It is the person which sent the information/tip along, and is an optional field, although I sometimes want to filter on an event_kind that has a specific referrer, while I don't for other event kinds. Notice I don't have an employee ID reference. The reference exists, but is implied. I have application code to validate that person_id and company_id really reference an employee record. The other tables are pretty basic: CREATE TABLE people ( id, name); CREATE TABLE companies ( id, name); CREATE TABLE employees ( id, person_id, company_id); I'm trying to achieve the following report: Referrer Phoned Promised Donated Francois Feb 16th Feb 20th Mar 1st Apple (Steve Jobs) Steve Ballmer Mar 3rd IBM Bill Gates Mar 7th The first row is a people record, the 2nd is an employee, and the 3rd is a company. If I asked for referrer Bill Gates for Phoned event kinds, I'd only see the 3rd row, while asking for Steve and Phoned would return no rows. Right now, I do 3 queries, one for companies, one for people and a last one for employees. I want the event kind columns to be ordered, but I do that in application code and show it properly there. There should be an "easier" way to do it. One other filter criteria would be to filter on people/company names: WHERE LOWER(companies.name) LIKE '%apple%'. Note that I'm ordering by the dates of event_kind_9 here, and a secondary sort is by person/company name. To summarize: I want to paginate the result set, find the latest event for each cell, order the result set by the date of the latest event, and by company/person name, filter by referrer in some event kinds, but not others. For reference, I'm using PostgreSQL, from Ruby, ActiveRecord/Rails. The solution is pure SQL though.

How to get selected values from a dynamically created DropDownList Array after PostBack (Button Click)

I have a CheckBoxList that contains Employee Names on a Wizard Step. When employees are selected and the active step is changed, the Wizard1_ActiveStepChanged function is called and it dynamically creates a DropDownList Array for each employee that is selected. Each DropDownList specifies a condition of the employee. The DropDownList is created properly. When the user clicks submit, the DropDownList array is deleted and no selected values can be pulled from the array. I understand this is an issue with the PostBack and can be fixed with ViewState, but I am trying to figure out what I can do to fix it. ViewState is enabled for the checkboxlist and the DropDownList. Hi All, I am stuck with a small problem here.. What i am trying to do is copy description of id's from one table to another. I have writter half of the javascript and can anybody tell me how to convert this function in jquery. I want the description copied from the first table based on the id to the second table. Updating D3 column chart with different values and different data sizes

Background I am attempting to create a reusable chart object with D3.js. I have setup a chart() function that will produce a column chart. On a click event on any of the columns, the chart will update with a new random data array that will contain a random number of data points (i.e. the original chart could have 8 columns, but upon update, could have 20 columns or 4 columns). Problem Say I have 8 data points (and thus 8 columns) in my original dataset. When I update the chart with random data, the columns appropriately adjust their height to the new values - but new bars aren't added. Additionally, while the width of the columns appropriately adjust to accommodate the width of the container and the new number of data points, if that number of data points is less than the original set, then some of those columns from the original dataset will linger until the number of data points is greater than or equal than the original. My end goal is to have new data dynamically added or old data outside of the range of the new data count dynamically removed. I've created a jsfiddle of the behavior. You may have to click the columns a couple of times to see the behavior I'm describing. Additionally, I've pasted my code below. Inheriting XML files and modifying values

This is a question about concept. I have an XML file, let's call it base: <base id="default"> <tags> <tag>tag_one</tag> <tag>tag_two</tag> <tag>tag_three</tag> </tags> <data> <data_a>blue</data_a> <data_b>3</data_b> </data> </base> What I want to do is to be able to extend this XML in another file, modifying individual properties. For example, I want to inherit that file and make a new one with a different data/data_a node: <base id="green" import="default"> <data> <data_a>green</data_a> </data> </base> So far it's pretty simple, it replaces the old data/data_a with the new one. I even can add a new node: <base id="ext" import="default"> <moredata> <data>extended version</data> </moredata> </base> And still it's pretty simple. The problem comes when I want to delete a node or deal with XML Lists (like the tags node). How should I reference a particular index on a list? I was thinking doing something like: <base id="diffList" import="default"> <tags> <tag index="1">this is not anymore tag_two</tag> </tags> </base> And for deleting a node / array index: <base id="deleting" import="default"> <tags> <tag index="2"/> </tags> <data/> </base>  <base> <tag>tag_one</tag> <tag>tag_two</tag> </base> But I'm not happy with my solutions. I don't know anything about XSLT or other XML transformation tools, but I think someone must have done this before. The key goal I'm looking for is ease to write the XML by hand (both the base and the "extended"). I'm open to new solutions besides XML, if they are easy to write manually. Thanks for reading.

ASP.NET MVC 2 UpdateModel() is not updating values in memory or database

Hello, I am new to MVC, and so am working through the NerdDinner tutorial, here. In particular, I'm running into problems with the use of the UpdateModel method, which is explained in the part five of that tutorial. The problem is, when I try to edit the value of a dinner object using the UpdateModel method, the values do not get updated, and no exceptions are thrown. Oddly, I am not having any trouble with the Create or Delete features that are illustrated in the tutorial. Only the update feature isn't working. Below, I have included the Controller code that I am using, as well as the view markup, which is contained in both an aspx View file and an ascx Partial View file. Clicking Elements in Android Doesn't Display the Correct Values

I apologize if this code looks a bit like a mess (considering the length); I figured I'd just include everything that goes on in my program at the moment. I'm attempting to create a fairly simple Tic Tac Toe app for Android. I've set up my UI nicely so far so that there are a "grid" of TextViews. As a sort of "debug" right now, I have it so that when one clicks on a TextView, it should display the value of buttonId in a message box. Right now, it displays the correct assigned value for the first element I click, but no matter what I click afterwards, it always just displays the first value buttonID had. I attempted to debug it but couldn't exactly find a point where it would pull the old value (to the best of my knowledge, it reassigned the value). There's a good possibility I'm missing something small, because this is my first Android project (of any note). Can someone help get different values of buttonId to appear or point out the error in my logic?
