• Is NetNamedPipeBinding binding guaranteed to work only on the same machine?

  Hi, I've created a Windows Service that uses WCF for communications to it. The service should be used be called only from the same machine. If I can guarantee that there's no way to communicate with it from another machine, I can consider it secured. Since I'm using communications on a single machine, I opted to used NetNamedPipeBinding. This bindings documentation says it's Optimized for on-machine communications, but does not give any guarantees. My questions is, does NetNamedPipeBinding provide on-machine-only guarantees? If not what binding does, or how would you go implementing a custom bindings that does provide such guarantees? Thanks, Asaf

• Disable CTRL+P in WPF DocumentViewer

  I'm working on a new presenation component for one of our applications. I am building a Custom WPF Control that just has a DocumentViewer in it and hosting that CC in a Windows Forms application with an ElementHost. I'm using Visual Studio 2008 with C#. I have customized everything through the XAML to give it the look and feel that integrates it perfecting into our application, but one thing remains... If you press CTRL+P the print dialog still comes up. I'm at a complete loss as to how to disable that fuction. The use of this CC is to allow the users to pull up and view the Manuals for the systems installed at that site, but we don't want them to accidently print them (100s of pages). Please help, -G

• Asyncronously receiving data in an ASP.NET MVC application

  I'm looking for the best way to constantly check if data has been sent to our ASP.NET MVC application from a server. I would like to asynchronously check for data and update the view when data has been read. I'm currently using a TcpClient to make a connection, and making the connection in the inherited custom base controller. Currently though I have to refresh the page for the updating of the view to take place. Would there be a proper AJAX solution? or do I need to move the connection to the ActionMethod?

You are told that each line in 'ColCheckMe' has 7 columns, and that the values in the 5th column are integers. Using shell functions indicate how you would verify that these conditions are satisfied in 'ColCheckMe' if In the same file, each value in column 1 is unique. How would I verify that?   Is there an easy way to set the Localizable property to true for newly created usercontrols / forms? The scope of the setting should ideally be a solution or a project. In other words I want to say that this project/solution should be localizable, and then if I add a new form or control VS should automatically set the property to true. Edit: Although custom templates are possible, in a larger team they might not be always used. So it's more about enforcing a policy, ensuring that the team members do not ommit to set the property for the projects/solutions where it is a requirement that all forms/controls containing text resources should be localizable. Note: Team Foundation Server is not an Option.

  For my java program I'm using Rhino to execute JS scripts. Now I'm trying to convert it to an applet which works great, except that everytime it's calling evaluateString(...) the JVM throws an AccessControlException. After some (a lot) of research I found out that this is caused by Rhino's custom classloader. My problem is that after hours of googling I still can't find a way to stop Rhino from trying to load it's own classloader. I hope someone can help me...

  I'm developing a CMS (with Django, but that doesn't matter) and have chosen GIT. Installations will vary in: Configs Database contents Media Templates First 3 are not a problem with git: we simply don't need these :) While developing, I have 1 default template with related media. Later, each customer will receive his own design based on default templates (some slight customization). I'm not going to support each of the custom templates as I introduce new features. Modularity helps with this but is not a 100% solution. Do you have any experience to share?

  Hello, I have a rather annoying issue with LinqToSql. I have created a class that is derived from the class in the DataContext. The problem is that as soon as I use "InsertOnSubmit(this);" on this derived class I get a NullReferenceException. I've seen some people with the same issue. However they've used a custom constructor and solved the issue by calling ": this()" like this thread http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/linqprojectgeneral/thread/0cf1fccb-6398-4f16-920b-adef9dc4ac9f The difference is that I use a default constructor which causes the base constructor to be called so there should not be any problem!   How would one consume an iCal/.ics file in YQL? Given an .ics such as: http://www.hebcal.com/export/ba/8a35a5efbb27548bc0272b94b8de96.ics?subscribe=1&v=1&year=2010&month=x&nh=on&tag=fp.ql&c=off How would I go about using YQL to select certain events based on fields, etc. I've tried the standard formats, and the only format that seems to even parse the file is HTML - which puts it all in a <p>, and removes the line returns that give the file meaning. I've had some success with using Yahoo Pipes' Fetch Feed Source, but was wondering if it's possible to do this entirely in YQL. Any ideas?

• Using WFC authentication service for web application

  I am using a WFC authentication service I set up with a web application. I have successfully set up and tested the AuthenticationService and RolesService. The web application can successfully call methods like ValidateUser and GetRolesForCurrentUser through the WFC services. I want to integrate the WFC authentication service with my web.config and site.map. Do I need to write a custom provider, or is there some way I can modify the web.config of the web application to use the WFC authentication service as its membership provider? This way I can set what roles have access to what directories based off the WFC authentication service.

• ASP.NET authentication login and logout with browser back button

  Hi, I am looking for a solution for user use the browser's back button to navigate to previous page once logged out. I have a web application build in asp.net and using a custom membership provider for authentication and authorization. Everything works fine except when the user click on the logout link to log out of the application and being redirect to a default cover page, if the use click on the BACK BUTTON on their browser, it will actually go back to where they were before and the data will still show up. Of course they can't do anything on that page, click on anything link they will be redirect to a login page again. But having those information display is making a lot users confused. i am just wondering if there is any way i can either clear the browser's history so use can't go BACK, or when they click on the back button and have them redirect to the login page. thanks

  Hi all, In my application I have this requirement that first tap on custom cell of uitableview with a label in it should expand it and second should contract it. I'm able to expand and contract cell and expand label inside cell, but not able to contract the label on second tap. I'm using this function - (void)setSelected:(BOOL)selected animated:(BOOL)animated { [super setSelected:selected animated:animated]; if( selected == YES ) { [self expandRow]; } else { [self contractRow]; } height = [lblFeed frame].size.height + 75; } expandRow expands the label and contractRow contracts it. I'm perplexed as for how many rows this function gets called. It doesn't get called only for the cell tapped, it gets called more number of times for single tap on single cell may be for other cells but I'm not getting which rows. This' really urgent. Can anybody please help?

• How can I stop Silverlight DataForm immediately saving changes back to underlying object?

  I have a Silverlight master-details DataForm where the DataForm represents a street address. When I edit the Address1 textbox, the value gets automatically committed to the bound Address object once focus leaves the textbox. If I hit the Cancel button, then any changes are undone because Address implements IEditableObject and saves its state. The problem is that since any change is immediately propagated to the underlying object it will be shown in the master grid before the user has actually hit Save. I also have other locations where this data is shown. This is not a very good user experience. I've tried OneWay binding but then I can't commit back without manually copying all the fields over. The only thing I can think of doing is to create a copy of the data first or using OneWay binding, but they both seem a little clumsy. Does DataForm support this way of working?

  I am using a ASP.net form with custom onclick mouse events to modify data values. Upon clicking and updating the values, one div section of the form performs a postback. onclick="__doPostBack('ctl01$phCon1$gridReports','sel1')" This is working well, however when the browser BACK option is selected, the browser opens goes through the history of the DIV ajax/onclick actions prior to going back to the prior URL. I suspect that this may be due to the doPostBack being treated as a browsing operation. Is there a means to perform the necessary ASP.net code events to make the page work, but not have the action stored in the browser history?

The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. (the standard IIS page, not my user friendly content) How can I include the 404 status code in the result served by the Handle404 action while still serving the content?

  I have created a small search and filter form method post in controller/index, which posts to it self the conditions and fields to paginate ( $this-paginate($conditions) ) However that is good for the first page, the subsequent pages the filer conditions are lost. pagination passArgs supports get variables well. Is there an un complex way to pass the post conditions to the other paginated pages? The method I have looked at is pass the $conditions in session , which isnt without complexity of assigning session and unset the session on submitting the form again (more refinements to the filter criteria by the user ) The other method is passing the $conditions as serialized string url_encode as an get parameter. Is there an good cake way to do this more like passArgs, sessions and url encode do not look like cake style. Thanks

• HP to Cisco spanning tree root flapping

  Per a recent question I recently configured both my HP (2x 2900) and Cisco (1x 3750) hardware to use MSTP for interoperability. I thought this was functional until I applied the change to the third device (HP switch 1 below) at which time the spanning tree root started flapping causing performance issues (5% packet loss) between my two HP switches. I'm not sure why. HP Switch 1 A4 connected to Cisco 1/0/1. HP Switch 2 B2 connected to Cisco 2/0/1. HP Switch 1 A2 connected to HP Switch 2 A1. I'd prefer the Cisco stack to act as the root. EDIT: There is one specific line - 'spanning-tree 1 path-cost 500000' in the HP switch 2 that I didn't add and was preexisting. I'm not sure if it could have the kind of impact that I'm describing. I'm more a security and monitoring guy then networking. EDIT 2: I'm starting to believe the problem lies in the fact that the value for my MST 0 instance on the Cisco is still at the default 32768. I worked up a diagram: This is based on every show command I could find for STP. I'll make this change after hours and see if it helps.   If i have a Controller Action that may recieve both HTTP GET and HTTP POST from a number of different sources with each source sending different data e.g. Source1 performs a form POST with two form items Item1 and Item2 Source2 performs a GET where the data is contained in the query string (?ItemX=2&ItemY=3) Is it possible to have a controller action that will cater for all these cases and perform binding automatically e.g. public ActionResult Test(Dictionary data) { // Do work ... return View(); } Is this possible with a custom binder or some other way?   I want to create a vector<vector<int>> where the outer vector is fixed (always containing the same vectors), but the inner vectors can be changed. For example: int n = 2; //decided at runtime assert(n>0); vector<vector<int>> outer(n); //outer vector contains n empty vectors outer.push_back(vector<int>()); //modifying outer vector - this should be error auto outer_it = outer.begin(); (*outer_it).push_back(3); //modifying inner vector. should work (which it does). I tried doing simply const vector<vector<int>>, but that makes even the inner vectors const. Is my only option to create my own custom FixedVectors class, or are there better ways out there to do this?

• WPF Validation with ContentPresenter

  Hi, I have a WPF user control which needs to validate some fields. It is bound to a class implementing IDataErrorInfo. When I set the user control as the content of my ContentPresenter in another, already open, window, I can see validation occurring, and error messages being returned, however, I don't get any validation adorner - e.g. the default red outline. If I enter the field and leave it (triggering re-validation) the validation adorner appears. Also, if I show the user control in it's own window it shows the validation adorner immediately. (I'm using Caliburn IResults to do this underneath, e.g. Show.Dialog<VM>(); but I suspect this isn't related) Can anyone offer any suggestion why the validation adorners aren't appearing immediately. (I had guessed animation on my ContentPresenter ContentChanged, however, I have removed this and still experience the problem. thanks, Chris

So, the final output should be : 100 25 10 4 I wrote a custom converter and registered to my xstream object. public void marshal(..){ writer.startNode("node4"); writer.setValue(getNode1()/ getnode2() ); writer.endNode(); } But, the xml stream I get has only the new node: 4 I am not sure which xstream api would get me the desired format. could you please help me with this .
