  • Failing to install activerecord-jdbcmysql-adapter gem

    - by Phil Sturgeon
I am trying to follow the basic "Create a blog in 20 minutes" Rails screencast but have hit a stumbling block already. When I try to rake db:migrate I get errors about the gem activerecord-jdbcmysql-adapter not being installed. When I try to install it, I am told it doesn't exist. If I try to simply gem install mysql I get all sorts of madness appearing. I am running this on Mac OS X 10.6.2 and my installation was all done through gem. My basic setup works (Hello world!). Here is the error log: $ rake db:migrate (in /Users/xxxx/Sites/blog) rake aborted! • GWT UiBinder doesn't load the stylesheet

    - by halish
I wanted to make a GWT widget using UiBinder. So I made: UserPanel.ui.xml like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <ui:UiBinder xmlns:ui='urn:ui:com.google.gwt.uibinder' xmlns:g='urn:import:com.google.gwt.user.client.ui'> <ui:with field="res" type="com.example.resources.UserPanelResources" /> <g:VerticalPanel styleNames='{res.userpanel.main}'> ...some other widgets go here... </g:VerticalPanel> </ui:UiBinder> UserPanel.css like this: .main { width: 1000px; background-color: #f9f9fa; padding: 15px 10px; font-family: "Georgia"; } and UserPanelResources.java like: public interface UserPanelResources extends ClientBundle { public interface UserPanelCss extends CssResource { String main(); } @Source("css/userpanel.css") UserPanelCss userpanel(); } All the files and packages are in their place, as everything compiles just fine. But when I run the Development Mode, the styles are not applied! I tried many different approaches, but it still doesn't work. What I noticed, is that in the HTML, the VerticalPanel is given the class name obfuscated by GWT, but the CSS is not send to the browser - in fact, the GWT doesn't even ask for it. Am I missing something?

  • DNN 5.2.3 Stored Procedures executing numerous times during page loads

    - by David Neale
    After tracing the DB activity from a DNN 5.2.3 site I noticed that there are numerous identical calls to the database whilst loading the home page for the first time (afterwards the caching works successfully). //Procedure : Number of executions exec dbo.aspnet_Membership_GetUserByName @ApplicationName=N'DotNetNuke',@UserName=N'MYDOMAIN\ME',@UpdateLastActivity=0,@CurrentTimeUtc='2010-03-24 10:04:15:223' : 22 exec dbo.GetPortalAliasByPortalID @PortalID=0 : 15 exec dbo.GetUserProfile @UserID=8 : 11 exec dbo.GetUser @PortalID=0,@UserID=8 : 10 exec dbo.GetDatabaseVersion : 2 exec dbo.GetUserCountByPortal @PortalId=0: 2 exec dbo.GetDesktopModules : 2 exec dbo.KB_XMod_Forms_List @PortalId=0 : 2 exec dbo.KB_XMod_Templates_List @PortalId=0,@TemplateType=-1 : 2 Why so many duplicates?

  • PHP SASL(PECL) sasl_server_init(app) works with CLI but not with ApacheModule

    - by ZokRadonh
I have written a simple auth script so that Webusers can type in their username and password and my PHP script verifies them by SASL. The SASL Library is initialized by php function sasl_server_init("phpfoo"). So phpfoo.conf in /etc/sasl2/ is used. phpfoo.conf: pwcheck_method: saslauthd mech_list: PLAIN LOGIN log_level: 9 So the SASL library now tries to connect to saslauthd process by socket. saslauthd command line looks like this: /usr/sbin/saslauthd -r -V -a pam -n 5 So saslauthd uses PAM to authenticate. In the php script I have created sasl connection by sasl_server_new("php", null, "myRealm"); The first argument is the servicename. So PAM uses the file /etc/pam.d/php to see for further authentication information. /etc/pam.d/php: auth required pam_mysql.so try_first_pass=0 config_file=/etc/pam.d/mysqlconf.nss account required pam_permit.so session required pam_permit.so mysqlconf.nss has all information that is needed for a useful MySQL Query to user table. All of this works perfectly when I run the script by command line. php ssasl.php But when I call the same script via webbrowser(php apache module) I get an -20 return code (SASL_NOUSER). In /var/log/messages there is May 18 15:27:12 hostname httpd2-prefork: unable to open Berkeley db /etc/sasldb2: No such file or directory I do not have anything with a Berkeley db for authentication with SASL. I think authentication using /etc/sasldb2 is the default setting. In my opinion it does not read my phpfoo.conf file. For some reason the php-apache-module ignores the parameter in sasl_server_init("phpfoo"). My first thought was that there is a permission issue. So back in shell: su -s /bin/bash wwwrun php ssasl.php "Authentication successful". - No file-permission issue. In the source of the sasl-php-extension we can find: PHP_FUNCTION(sasl_server_init) { char *name; int name_len; if (zend_parse_parameters(1 TSRMLS_CC, "s", &name, &name_len) == FAILURE) { return; } if (sasl_server_init(NULL, name) != SASL_OK) { RETURN_FALSE; } RETURN_TRUE; } This is a simple pass through of the string. Are there any differences between the PHP CLI and PHP ApacheModule version that I am not aware of? Anyway, there are some interesting log entries when I run PHP in CLI mode: May 18 15:44:48 hostname php: SQL engine 'mysql' not supported May 18 15:44:48 hostname php: auxpropfunc error no mechanism available May 18 15:44:48 hostname php: _sasl_plugin_load failed on sasl_auxprop_plug_init for plugin: sqlite May 18 15:44:48 hostname php: sql_select option missing May 18 15:44:48 hostname php: auxpropfunc error no mechanism available May 18 15:44:48 hostname php: _sasl_plugin_load failed on sasl_auxprop_plug_init for plugin: sql Those lines are followed by lines of saslauthd and PAM which results in authentication success.(I do not get any of them in ApacheModule mode) Looks like that he is trying auxprop pwcheck before saslauthd. I have no other .conf file in /etc/sasl2. When I change the parameter of sasl_server_init to something other then I get the same error in CLI mode as in ApacheModule mode.

  • Insert into a star-schema

    - by shaun
I've read a lot about star-schema's, about fact/deminsion tables, select statements to quickly report data, however the matter of data entry into a star-schema seems aloof to me. How does one "theoretically" enter data into a star-schema db? while maintaining the fact table. Is a series of INSERT INTO statement within giant stored proc with 20 params my only option (and how to populate the fact table). Many thanks.

  • Salesforce/PHP - outbound messages (SOAP) - memory limit issue

    - by Phill Pafford
I'm using Salesforce to send outbound messages (via SOAP) to another server. The server can process about 8 messages at a time, but will not send back the ACK file if the SOAP request contains more than 8 messages. SF can send up to 100 outbound messages in 1 SOAP request and I think this is causing a memory issue with PHP. If I process the outbound messages 1 by 1 they all go through fine, I can even do 8 at a time with no issues. But larger sets are not working. ERROR in SF: org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Premature end of file Looking in the HTTP error logs I see that the incoming SOAP message looks to be getting cut of which throws a PHP warning stating: Premature end of data in tag ... PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function getAttribute() on a non-object This leads me to believe that PHP is having a memory issue and can not parse the incoming message due to it's size. I was thinking I could just set: ini_set('memory_limit', '64M'); But would this be the correct approach? Is there a way I could set this to increase with the incoming SOAP request dynamically? UPDATE: Adding some code $data = fopen('php://input','rb'); $headers = getallheaders(); $content_length = $headers['Content-Length']; $buffer_length = 1000; $fread_length = $content_length + $buffer_length; $content = fread($data,$fread_length); /** * Parse values from soap string into DOM XML */ $dom = new DOMDocument(); $dom->loadXML($content); ....

  • Websphere 7 EntityManagerFactory creation problem

    - by mihaela
Hello, I'm working on a maven project which uses seam 2.2.0, hibernate 3.5.0-CR-2 as JPA provider, DB2 as database server and Websphere 7 as application server. Now I'm facing de following problem: In my EJBs that are seen also as SEAM components I want to use the EntityManager from EJB container (@PersistenceContext private EntityManager em) not Seam's EntityManager (@In private EntityManager em). But this is the problem, I cannot obtain an EntityManager using @PersistenceContext. On server logs it sais that it cannot create an EntityManagerFactory and gets a ClassCastException: java.lang.ClassCastException: org.hibernate.ejb.HibernatePersistence incompatible with javax.persistence.spi.PersistenceProvider After a lot of debugging and searching on forums I'm assuming that the problem is that Websphere doesn't use the Hibernate JPA provider. Has anyone faced this problem and has a solution? I configured already WAS class loader order for my application to load the classes with the application class loader first and I\ve packed all necessary jars in application ear as written in: WAS InfoCenter: Features for EJB 3.0 development . If necessary I'll post my persistence.xml, components.xml files and stack trace. I've found this problem discussed also here: Websphere EntityManagerFactory creation problem Hibernate 3.3 fail to create entity manager factory in Websphere 7.0. Please help Any hint will be useful. Thanks in advance! Mihaela

  • iPhone: Fastest way to create a binary Plist with simple key/value strings

    - by randombits
What's the best way to create a binary plist on the iPhone with simple string based key/value pairs? I need to create a plist with a list of recipe and ingredients. I then want to be able to read this into an NSDictionary so I can do something like NSString *ingredients = [recipes objectForKey:@"apple pie"]; I'm reading in an XML data file through an HTTP request and want to parse all of the key value pairs into the plist. The XML might look something like: <recipes> <recipe> <name>apple pie</name> <ingredients>apples and pie</ingredients> </recipe> <recipe> <name>cereal</name> <ingredients>milk and some other ingredients</ingredients> </recipe> </recipes> Ideally, I'll be able to write this to a plist at runtime, and then be able to read it and turn it into an NSDictionary later at runtime as well.

  • Help with connection string

    - by DanSogaard
So I'm trying to connect to my database at the specified location, and the connection is established as long as the db at the same location specified at DataSource field, but what if I tried to distribute my application, the file path will change and will lead to errors I want to avoid. Here is my connstring: string connstring = @"Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;Data Source=C:\Users\PC1\Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\Test\Test\bin\Debug\MyDatabase01.accdb;Persist Security Info=true"; Is there anyway I can define DataSource location to be at the same folder?.

  • Android - Views in Custom Compound Component are not inflated (findByView returns null)

    - by Julian Arz
I have made a Custom Component in XML, consisting of a button with an imageview stacked on top of it: <myapp.widget.ClearableCaptionedButton xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content"> <Button android:id="@+id/ccbutton_button" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:gravity="center_vertical|left" android:textAppearance="?android:attr/textAppearanceMedium" android:background="@android:drawable/edit_text"/> <ImageView android:id="@+id/ccbutton_clear" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_marginRight="5dip" android:layout_alignRight="@id/ccbutton_button" android:layout_alignTop="@id/ccbutton_button" android:layout_alignBottom="@id/ccbutton_button"/> </myapp.widget.ClearableCaptionedButton> extract of java source code: public class ClearableCaptionedButton extends RelativeLayout implements OnClickListener { ... public ClearableCaptionedButton(Context context, AttributeSet attrs) { super(context, attrs); // some stuff that works fine } .. protected void onFinishInflate() { super.onFinishInflate(); mButton = (Button) findViewById(R.id.ccbutton_button); mClear = (ImageView) findViewById(R.id.ccbutton_clear); mButton.setText(""); // error here: mButton == null } My problem is similar to this one. When i try to find the views inside the custom compound, findViewById returns null. But, as you can see, i already added super(context, attrs); to the constructor. i am using the custom component directly in xml layout, like this: <LinearLayout> <!-- some stuff --> <de.pockettaxi.widget.ClearableCaptionedButton android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" app:caption="to"/> </LinearLayout> can anybody spot something? thanks.

  • Postgres cannot connect to server

    - by user1408935
Super stumped by why Postgres isn't working on a new app I just started. I've got it working for one app already. I'm using postgres.app, and it's running. I started a new app with rails new depot -d postgresql and then I went into the database.yml file and changed username to my $USER (which is what it is for the other app, which is working). So now my database.yml file has this development section: development: adapter: postgresql encoding: unicode database: depot_development pool: 5 username: <username> password: But when I run "rake db:create" or "rake db:create:all" I still got this error (in full, cause I don't know what's relevant): Couldn't create database for {"adapter"=>"postgresql", "encoding"=>"unicode", "database"=>"depot_development", "pool"=>5, "username"=>"<username>", "password"=>nil} could not connect to server: Permission denied Is the server running locally and accepting connections on Unix In the same psql environment, I tried CREATE DATABASE depot; I've made sure that the pg gem is installed with bundle install, I've run "pg_ctl start", to which I got this response: pg_ctl: no database directory specified and environment variable PGDATA unset I ran "ps aux | grep postgres" to make sure postgres was running, to which I got this in return (which looks like it's doing OK, right?): <username> 10390 0.4 0.0 2425480 180 s000 R+ 6:15PM 0:00.00 grep postgres <username> 2907 0.0 0.0 2441604 464 ?? Any ideas? I'd really appreciate it, cause I'm pretty new to Rails, and this is a pretty disheartening roadblock. Thanks! EDIT -- Per request, posting the successful database.yml . It seems the difference is the inclusion of a password: development: adapter: postgresql encoding: unicode database: *******_development pool: 5 username: ******* password: ******* EDIT2 -- When I add a password to the .yml file, then run rake db:create again, I get this error. rake aborted! No Rakefile found (looking for: rakefile, Rakefile, rakefile.rb, Rakefile.rb)
