  • Cannot edit values of DataGridView bound to a BindingList

    Hello community, I have trouble editing a databound bindinglist. Let me illustrate it with the following: Say I have the Person class: public Class Person{ private string m_firstname; private string m_lastname; public string FirstName{get;set;} public string LastName{get;set;} public Person{ ... } } I then have a containing class called Population: public class Population{ private BindingList<Person> m_lstPerson = new BindingList<Person>(); private string m_countryName; public BindingList<Person> ListPerson{get; set;} public string CountryName { get; set; } } I then have on one form a first datagridview with DataSource = m_lstPopulation (BindingList). The binding works like a charm when working with the Population objects. When I double click, it opens up a dialog form showing the object details. One tab in the details holds a datagridview bound to that population's ListPerson. The second datagridview displays fine. However, I cannot edit or add cells in this datagridview. None of the columns is set to read-only. In fact, both datagridview have just about the same parameters. What am I missing? It seems that a lock has been placed on the Population object so that its inner fields cannot be edited... Please advise. Thanks.

    Is there an efficient, quick and simple example of doing differential b/w image compression? Or even better, some simple (but lossless) streaming technique which could accept a number of frames as input? I have a simple b/w image (320x200) stream, displaying something similar to a LED display, which is updated about once a second using AJAX. Images are pretty similar most of the time, so if I subtracted them, result would compress pretty well (even with simple RLE). Is something like this available?

  • Error in jquery attribute selector and IE6-7

    Hi, I'm trying to implement a JQuery script to process some areas inside an image map. I'm using $('area[shape="poly"]') as a selector to obtain the areas I'm interested in. It is working fine in IE8 and Firefox, but it is not selecting the elements in IE6 or IE7. This is a test page that shows this problem.     I have a site in ASP.NET using Telerik AJAX controls. Despite the latest binary being added to the website project, my code (eg myRadGrid.Datasource = "";) shows a red line on type names as they cannot be found for some reason. Can anyone possibly explain why or have experience in this sort of problem? Thanks

    I am still redoing and getting rid of old mysql_* commands in my code. And of course logout is used in this form on my sites: public function logout() { unset($_SESSION['user_id']); unset($_SESSION['user_name']); } But I think PDO has different way of handling session? I did not find any so what is it can i somehow add $_SESSION in PDO withou changing code much? I am using variables $_SESSION['user_name'] and $_SESSION['user_id'] in all over my web project. Summary: 1) How to use sessions in PDO correctly? 2) What is difference between using $stmt->fetch(PDO::FETCH_ASSOC); and $stmt->fetchAll(); Thank you.

    The setup = I have this class, Transcript: class Transcript(models.Model): body = models.TextField('Body') doPagination = models.BooleanField('Paginate') numPages = models.PositiveIntegerField('Number of Pages') and this class, TranscriptPages(models.Model): class TranscriptPages(models.Model): transcript = models.ForeignKey(Transcript) order = models.PositiveIntegerField('Order') content = models.TextField('Page Content', null=True, blank=True) The Admin behavior I’m trying to create is to let a user populate Transcript.body with the entire contents of a long document and, if they set Transcript.doPagination = True and save the Transcript admin, I will automatically split the body into n Transcript pages. In the admin, TranscriptPages is a StackedInline of the Transcript Admin. To do this I’m overridding Transcript’s save method: def save(self): if self.doPagination: #do stuff super(Transcript, self).save() else: super(Transcript, self).save() The problem = When Transcript.doPagination is True, I want to manually delete all of the TranscriptPages that reference this Transcript so I can then create them again from scratch. So, I thought this would work: #do stuff TranscriptPages.objects.filter(transcript__id=self.id).delete() super(Transcript, self).save() but when I try I get this error: Exception Type: ValidationError Exception Value: [u'Select a valid choice. That choice is not one of the available choices.'] ... and this is the last thing in the stack trace before the exception is raised: .../django/forms/models.py in save_existing_objects pk_value = form.fields[pk_name].clean(raw_pk_value) Other attempts to fix: t = self.transcriptpages_set.all().delete() (where self = Transcript from the save() method) looping over t (above) and deleting each item individually making a post_save signal on TranscriptPages that calls the delete method Any ideas? How does the Admin do it? UPDATE: Every once in a while as I'm playing around with the code I can get a different error (below), but then it just goes away and I can't replicate it again... until the next random time.   • C# How to commit a TextBox?

    Hi, In a form, I have a TextBox Binding an Object on its member property "Title". Along with it is a "Save" button to test the binding. Seems like the underlying object property does not get updated unless the textbox loses focus. But there no form.ActiveControl.Blur() for use. Besides, this does not seem like a sound hack. Anyway to do this better? Thanks. EDIT: Sorry for not being clear. My question is in the title: "How to commit a TextBox". I use the term "commit" from the DataGridView commit and BindingSource commit. And it's in WinForms. (Have never worked with WPF, so it didn't occur to me. Sorry). The actual scenario I have is I have a bunch of TextBox binded to property of a single Object. The user enters values in all the TextBox and when the user clicks save (toolbar button), the last TextBox is still in focus (or in editing mode) hence the save will not capture the last value in the last textbox. I want to find the correct way to "commit" the textbox value just before saving. Thanks.

    In my application I have created a SplashScreen that will b shown for 5 Seconds and after that it executes an if else case depending upon the values stored in the Preference file. If Preference file contains values then the AsyncTask code will run else the Login form will load. When i try to run my application. The thread is going to the Login form with the help of intent but when it comes to AsyncTask my application shows a force close error message.     I want to use Festival TTS with my C++ programme. So i have downloaded all files form http://www.cstr.ed.ac.uk/downloads/festival/2.0.95/ then i start reading manual(http://www.cstr.ed.ac.uk/projects/festival/manual/festival_28.html) for C++ API but in manual they says that: In order to use Festival you must include festival/src/include/festival.h' which in turn will include the necessary other include files infestival/src/include' and speech_tools/include' you should ensure these are included in the include path for you your program. Also you will need to link your program withfestival/src/lib/libFestival.a', speech_tools/lib/libestools.a',speech_tools/lib/libestbase.a' and `speech_tools/lib/libeststring.a' as well as any other optional libraries such as net audio. " I am using UBUNTU 10.04(festival package is by default installed and i can use it form terminal by festival command) and GCC 4.4.3 but the problem is that i am new to GCC and i am not understanding which files i have to include in order to run my C++ code and i also don't know how to link libraries with my c++ code. So please tell me exactly which files i have to include and how to link with libraries if anyone already use festival tts with c++ then please post your code Thanks

  • Why isn't this simple PHP/MySQL code working?

    I am very new to php/mysql and this is causing me to loose hairs, I am trying to build a multi level site navigation. In this part of my script I am readying the sub and parent categories coming from a form for insertion into the database: // get child categories $catFields = $_POST['categories']; if (is_array($catFields)) { $categories = $categories; for ($i=0; $i<count($catFields); $i++) { $categories = $categories . $catFields[$i]"; } } // get parent category $select = mysql_query ("SELECT parent FROM categories WHERE id = $categories"); while ($return = mysql_fetch_assoc($select)) { $parentId = $return['parent']; } The first part of my script works fine, it grabs all the categories that the user has chosen to assign a post by checking the checkboxes in a form and readies it for insertion into the database. But the second part does not work and I can't understand why. I am trying to match a category with a parent that is stored in it's own table, but it returns nothing even though the categories all have parents. Can anyone tell me why this is? p.s. The $categories variable contains the sub category id.

  • HTML checkbox field is being passed to PHP as checked even when it is not

    Hello all, First of all thanks in advance, this has been very frustrating and I'm hoping someone can see something I'm not, I am definitely no php expert. Well here' what is going on. I have a form where I have a checkbox for people to opt in to our newletter. The form element looks like this: <label for=newsletter accesskey=N class="checkbox">Signup for Cloverton's Newsletter</label> <input name="newsletter" type="checkbox" id="newsletter" value="Yes" style="width:20px;" /> That is then submitted to a php file with this code: if (isset($_POST['newsletter']) && $_POST['newsletter'] == 'Yes'){ echo "newletter yes"; $newsletter = 1; }else{ echo "newsletter no"; $newsletter = 0; } $newsletter is then inserted into a database field. The issue is that whether the box is checked or not it is being sent to php as true, so every entry is receiving the newsletter. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

  • Drupal Views api, add simple argument handler

    Background: I have a complex search form that stores the query and it's hash in a cache. Once the cache is set, I redirect to something like /searchresults/e6c86fadc7e4b7a2d068932efc9cc358 where that big long string on the end is the md5 hash of my query. I need to make a new argument for views to know what the hash is good for. The reason for all this hastle is because my original search form is way to complex and has way to many arguments to consider putting them all into the path and expecting to do the filtering with the normal views arguments. Now for my question. I have been reading views 2 documentation but not figuring out how to accomplish this custom argument. It doesn't seem to me like this should be as hard as it seems to me like it must be. Leaving aside any knowledge of the veiws api, it would seem that all I need is a callback function that will take the argument from the path as it's only argument and return a list of node id's to filter to. Can anyone point me to a solution or give me some example code? Thanks for your help! You guys are great. PS. I am pretty sure that my design is the best I can come up with, lets don't get off my question and into cross checking my design logic if we can help it.

    I'm working on a modal comment system using jQuery and jQuery UI, but I'm having some issues with focus. I have a series of divs inside the modal to switch between Login and Add comment, as below: <div id="modal" title="Loading"> <div id="modalContent"></div> <div id="modalLogin"> <div class="loginBox"></div> <div class="addCommentBox"></div> <div class="commentReview"></div> </div> </div> Inside of the addCommentBox div, I've got the comment code: <form action="/comments/add" class="addCommentForm" name="addCommentForm" method="post"> <textarea name="content" class="addCommentContent"></textarea> <button value="Add Comment" type="submit" class="commentPost"/> <button value="Clear Comment" type="submit" id="clearComment"/> </form> The issue is that about half the time after opening the dialog the textarea inside the addCommentBox div doesn't react to keyboard inputs when selected. The mouse works correctly and will allow text to be selected, but keyboard control does nothing. I have no event listeners on the textarea. I've got some on the buttons, but they are targeting only the buttons. The only thing that happens in the HTML seems to be the fact that every time I click on the modal, the z-index increases for the overall modal div. I have set the addCommentBox div to have a z-index of 9999, greater than the z-index of the modal. Any suggestions or directions to research would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
