  I need some directions for SQL Server & Cursors: I have a table named Order: OrderID Item Amount 1 A 10 1 B 1 2 A 5 2 C 4 2 D 21 3 B 11 I have a second table named Storage: Item Amount A 40 B 44 C 20 D 1 For every OrderID, I want to check if enough items are available. If not, I want to return an error message. How can this be done with Cursors at all? Are nested cursors the solution to this? My main issue is to understand how I can fetch the OrderID as actual "Group" of ID=1, 2, 3 etc. instead of line by line

• ORM on iPhone. More simple than CoreData.

  The question is rather simple. I know that there is SQLite. There is Core Data also. But I need something in between. More object-oriented than SQLite API and simplier than Core Data. Main points are: I need access to stored entities only by id. No queries required. I need to store items of a single type, it means that I can use only one table if I choose SQLite. I want automatic object-relational conversion. Or object-storage if the storage is not relational. I can use object archiving, but I have to implement things (NSArchiver). But I want to write some kind of class and get persistence automatically. As it can be done with Hibernate/ActiveRecord/Core Data/etc. Thanks.

• mod_rewrite: Different rules on different domains, same www-root

  I have 8 domainnames that point to the same www-root. If the main domain is accessed, you are pointed to index.php, and from there on, the URL's are like: index.php?p=contact etc. If, however, you access one of the other 7 domains, that point to different units, you are initially pointed to: index_local.php, and from there on it goes like: index_local.php?p=contact etc. As you may see these URL's are very ugly, can I use mod_rewrite in this scenario to make it so that index.php AND index_local.php never show up in URL? Is there any better way to do this than the way I'm pointing the user now with multiple domains in the same www-root?

  I am trying to record audio by MediaRecorder, and I get an error, I tried to change everything and nothing works. Last two hours I try to find the error, I used Log class too and I found out that error occurred when it call recorder.start() method.   Hello! I want to write a comparation procedure (t-sql) for site seo. I have a table with field 'url' (nvarchar()) that contain a part of site url's. Ex: 'mysyte.com/?id=2'. Also this table for each url contains metadata, that i need to extract. The main problem is that full url on site looks like 'mysyte.com/?id=2&region=0&page=1', and i just need to ignore everething, except url in table: I mean: 'mysyte.com/?id=2' = is a part of 'mysyte.com/?id=2&region=0&page=1'

• SetParent() on a VB6 application from a C# app

  Aloha all! I am trying to use the win32 API to set the parent of an application to a panel in my C# application. I can get most applications to work... However I have one application which was written in VB6 which I am having problems with... When I inspect it using spy++ the application loads in 2 main forms 'ThunderRT6Main' and 'ThunderRT6MDIForm' both with the same title. I have found the handle of both of these and tried to call SetParent on them both but the window does nothing and does not move anywhere... Is there something funky I need to do when invoking SetParent() on a VB6 app?

• Tag Suggestion system, approaches and ideas

  Hi guys! -- I am working on a (auto) tag suggestion system (NOT tag autocomplete). Lets say I want to suggest tags for a given question like here on SO (although SO's tagging system is auto-complete). My main idea is to get the intersection between the tags_set and the given question.split()_set. (In python the set_intersection is efficient enough). Also, in order to make it a little bit more accurate I might use words-distance to count as 'the same' very close words i.e movie == movies. For now I am not thinking about using any Collaborative Filtering technique looking for the tags to similar questions and so on, because I believe since the question text is pretty short (comparing with a blog article or a paper) it is not worth the effort. So I was wondering if you have any other (more) efficient approaches to suggest. Any ideas, specially from people who they have done something like that before, are more than welcome.

• JDBC CLASSPATH Not Working

  I'm setting up a simple JDBC connection to my working MySQL database on my server. I'm using the Connector-J provided by MySQL. According to their documentation, I'm suppose to create the CLASSPATH variable to point to the directory where the mysql-connector-java-5.0.8-bin.jar is located. I used export set CLASSPATH=/path/mysql-connector-java-5.0.8-bin.jar:$CLASSPATH. When I type echo $CLASSPATH to see if it exists, everything seems fine. But then when I open a new terminal and type echo $CLASSPATH it's no longer there. I think this is the main reason why my Java server won't connect to the JDBC, because it isn't saving the CLASSPATH variable I set. Anyone got suggestions or fixes on how to set up JDBC in the first place?

  I am working on creating a RESTful API that supports cross-domain requests, JSON/JSONP support, and the main HTTP method (PUT/GET/POST/DELETE). Now while will be easy to accessing this API through server side code , it would nice to exposed it to javascript. From what I can tell, when doing a JSONP requests with jQuery, it only supports the GET method. Is there a way to do a JSONP request using POST/PUT/DELETE? Ideally I would like a way to do this from within jQuery (through a plugin if the core does not support this), but I will take a plain javascript solution too. Any links to working code or how to code it would be helpful, thanks.

• UISearchBar in UINavigationBar with ScopeBar

  I am trying to put a UISearchBar inside of the UINavigationBar, which I am able to do without much problem. The problem is that I have logic when editing to show the Scope Bar. This all works fine, with one exception. The navigation bar tries to center the UISearchBar inside of the title view. This causes the search bar to move up above the navigation bar. I tried adding some logic to set the frame of the search bar so that it just draws overtop of my main view, which is fine. I can only set the height, which causes the search bar to draw over the view just fine, but it isn't wide enough to cover the whole screen. If I set the width on the frame, it goes back to the same behavior of trying to center the UISearchBar on the navigation bar. Anyone know how I can accomplish this? Thanks, Nick

  I was just curious what coding standards people followed. I for one use the following: Brackets ALWAYS go on the next line. For instance: int main() { //Blah... } I never use code folding. (Yes my IDE's do support it (Xcode and Eclipse). Put related functions/methods single-spaced, otherwise double space. Here is an example: int foo = 0; printf("%d",foo); those are related while these are not: printf("Hello, World!"); return(0); I don't put else statements on the same line as the closing bracket for the preceding if statement. Most of the time in Java if a program needs multiple try catch statements I will just put the whole thing in one try catch.

Abstract class A Class B extends class A independent Class C In class D that contains the main method, I create a list of instances of class B List<B> b = methodCall(); // the method returns a list of instances of class B Now in class C I have one method that is common to both A and B, and hence I don't want to duplicate it. I want to have one method that takes as input an instance of class A, as follows: public void someMethod(List<A> a) However, when I do: C c = new C(); c.someMethod(b); I get an error that some-method is not applicable for the argument List<B>, instead it's expecting to get List<A>.   Hi, I am trying to debug a program using ddd. When I try to enter any function, or within main() itself, I get the following warning: warning: (Internal error: pc 0x804a6b0 in read in psymtab, but not in symtab.) This warning flashes whenever I try to move to another instruction using 'n' or enter or leave a function. I have tried to look this up in other forums, but with no conclusive answer. The code I am trying to debug runs into several files and I am not sure if I can post the entire code here. • C# class in a directory without having the directory name in its namespace

  Hi ! If you add a directory in your Visual Studio project and you add a class inside it, the namespace will respect the whole path the directory inclusive. But sometimes, I prefer having the class in the main project namespace, although it lies in a directory structure, just because I don't want to have mess in my code. So often happens that I rewrite the Myproject.MyDirectory namespace to be Myproject only. Is it OK in your opinion? Or does any convention say that every class inside the directory must have it included in the namespace ? Thanks
