    I tried parsing a gigantic XML file and I ended up running out of virtual memory. The OS put all my applications on pause and gave me a screen to shutdown applications to free more space. I killed the XML parsing application and now have tons of space but I can't resume my paused applications anymore. What should I do?

  • Excel 2003 charts not looking right in 2007

    I'm not exactly sure this goes here but I don't know where else to look for help. I have some Excel files containing charts made with Excel 2003. When I open the file in Excel 2007 and save it (non 2007) is messes up the charts. However, when in Excel 2007 and I Save as a .xlsx type the charts don't mess up. Is there any help for me to be able to not have the charts mess up when simply saving the 2003 file with Excel 2007? Hope that's confusing. Thanks.

  • Using Roboform with PuTTY

    I recently discovered and fell in love with Roboform. In less than a week it's become indispensable. So far I've only seen Roboform's ability to fill out fields in web browsers and Windows GUI apps. I'm an app developer and sometimes I need to use Telnet/SSH. My SSH client of choice is PuTTY, but I can't find any way to integrate Roboform with PuTTY. Is this possible? If not, is there another [free] SSH client that will work with Roboform?

  • Cannot Expand/Collapse tasks in Microsoft Project 2010

    I opened an existing Microsoft Project file today and was unable to expand/collapse the subtasks use the cursor and the '+/-' signs beside the parent tasks. I am able to expand and collapse using the 'View-Outline' ribbon icon. However when I attempt to do this using the mouse on specific tasks, my cursor will not perform the task. My cursor is a 'white cross' when I need it to be an 'arrow'. I'm assuming this is something minor that I'm missing. Any assistance appreciated. Thanks

  • Windows 7 wont boot from any boot loader except for 'Windows Boot Manager' after partition resize

    I have a triple boot system on a single SSD. OSX, Windows 7, and Ubuntu. I use Chimera (basically another version of Chameleon) as my boot loader. Usually I can boot all 3 without any issue, but after using GParted to make my Ubuntu partition 2 Gigs larger, Windows 7 throws me an error when trying to boot to it from either Chimera or Grub. The error is consistently: 0xc000000e "cant find \Boot\BCD" (slightly paraphrased). However, I can still get into Windows by selecting "Windows Boot Manager" from the boot options in my bios. I've already tried several known fixes for similar issues, including bootrec /rebuildbcd (and variations), and BootRec.exe/fixMBR + BootRec.exe/fixBoot. Ive also tried Chkdsk. At best this has made it so Windows 7 boots on it's own by default (making me have to reinstall Chimera and change back my boot settings in the bios). At worst this made it so Windows wont boot period. Now I'm back full circle where I started. A detail that might be useful is that bootrec /rebuildbcd says that the number of found Windows installations is 0. How do I get it back so I can boot Win7 through another boot loader so I don't have to manually select it in the bios? Preferably without a reinstall.

    I have a printer connected to my computer that I'd like to share on my home network - shouldn't be a problem. The computer the printer is connected to is running Vista Ultimate x64. The computers I'm trying to share with are x86 Windows XP Professional and x86 Vista, so I need to install additional (x86) drivers. I checked the box to add x86 printer drivers and then it asked for the location of the drivers. I browsed to the location and clicked OK. It then prompted "Please provide path to Windows media (x86 processor). When I click "Browse..." it wants the location of a file named ntprint.inf It looks like it's asking for a Windows (x86) installation disk. I put one in but I can't seem to find this file on the 32-bit Vista install disk Where is the proper place to find this file?

    If I open a command prompt on my machine and type ipconfig /all, I see lots of Tunnel adapter Local Area Connection* 9: Media state . . . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected Connection-specific DNS Sufficx . . . : Description . . . . . . . . . . . . . : Microsoft 6to4 Adapter #5 Physical address. . . . . . . . . . . : 00-00-00-00-00-00-00-E0 DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . . . : No Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . . . : Yes In fact, they're so many that my "real" adapters are pushed out of the stack, and can't be seen anymore. Is there any flag I can use on ipconfig to hide all virtual interfaces? Or is there some other way around this problem? Since they always say "Media disconnected" I suppose disabling could be an option, but if possible I'd rather not turn any functionality off. I just want to control what output I get from ipconfig. Also, I know these are related to IPv6 stuff. However, most of what I find on google merely states what these are, and that they're harmless - nothing about hiding/removing them.

  • Siteminder webagent installation failed

    Hi All, I have tried to install a 32 bit Netegrity(CA) siteminder web agent on 64 bit Windows server 2003. The IIS server is V 6.0 and so it is also 64 bit. But the problem is while configuring the agent it is showing metabase error. Previously 64 bit web agent was installed on the same server and removed. The IIS V 6.0 is also reinstalled on the server. But after that when I tried to install 32 bit siteminder web agent, it is showing an error as said above. Is it possible to install a 32 bit siteminder web agent on 64 bit IIS?   • Lenovo Mini Wireless Keyboard N5901: Remap orange "My Computer" button

    I have a Lenovo Mini Wireless Keyboard N5901 (a.k.a. Part No. 57Y6336) that I'm using with an HTPC running Windows 7. The remote comes with an orange button in the top-left corner that by default, when pressed, opens the Windows "My Computer" window. I would like to remap / reprogram this button to act like the green "Windows Media Center" button instead on a Windows Media Center (WMC) remote; that is, open Windows Media Center if it isn't already open, or go to the WMC homepage if WMC is already open. I've tried several keyboard-remapping utilities (as recommended in other, more general "how to remap keyboard key?" SuperUser.com questions) including SharpKeys, Key Mapper, and KeyTweak, with no luck so far. None of these utilities recognize the orange button -- they all do recognize that some key was pressed, but display a value for the key of "unsupported" or something similar. I was able to use a utility called Keyboard Scan Code Generator to determine that a press of the orange button has a KeyData value of 16777217 (0x1000001), and a "Virtual Code" value of 182. (The other "media" buttons on the N5901 have the same KeyData value, but different Virtual Code values). I'm not sure at this point where in Windows this keystroke is being interpreted as a command to open "My Computer." There is no special software / driver for this device; it worked out of the box with Windows 7, no special driver install necessary. Is there any way to accomplish this?   • fedora12, yum not releasing "lock" after performing an action

    Hello, This problem has been occurring quite frequently recently and I can't seem to find a way of preventing it.   • Mac Mini Wake on Lan

    My Mac Mini has a setting in the Energy Saver category called Wake for Ethernet network access. Now the way I read this option is that any network access to the Mac whilst it is asleep will wake it up, but it doesn't. I have read that I have to send it the magic packet to wake it up, but what I really want to do is be able to simply attempt to access the Mini over the network and it wake up on demand without sending a magic packet. Can this be done? If it helps I am using a Netgear router.

    I have the following: main form "customer" from a "customer" table. subform "invoices" with fields "invoice date", "invoice amount" "customer id" etc. from a table "invoices" whenever user clicks or goes to a record in the "invoices" sub form. I would like a "total so far" control to calculate the sum of the "invoices amount" up until the date of the current record being "clicked" or selected. i.e. for customer microsoft with invoices: 1) may 2 09, $150 2) may 3 09, $200 3) may 4 09, $500 If user clicks on record 2), "total so far" should show $350 If user clicks on record 1), "total so far" should show $150 If user clicks on record 3), "total so far" should show $850 Currently, I am using DSum function on an event "OnCurrent" in the subform "invoices" to set the "total so far" value. Is this method slow, inefficient? Any other simpler,cleaner,more elegant,faster, efficient method using ms access features? I want the "invoices" subform to show ALL the invoices for this customer no matter which record is clicked.

  • Firefox 4, 5 hang on Windows XP

    I've been having a lot of trouble with Firefox 4 and 5 hanging on my Windows XP machine. I've often found a temporary solution of uninstalling and reinstalling. Recently I deleted my Firefox profile to get a clean start. But nothing seems a reliable solution. The only plugin that I have is Firebug. My machine is a bit low on RAM, with only 2 GB. Am I missing something? Any troubleshooting steps that you would recommend? I've come to expect Firefox to be very stable, and that has not at all been my experience lately.

  • OSX telnet not working from localhost

    Telnet from my mac OSx doesn't work while it works from the AWS instances and other networks. I have no local firewalls. Nothing related in /var/log/system In the below transcript, the telnet hangs at "Trying 74.125.136.26..." I have tried many different addresses across multiple domains.. same result !
