  • django handling file uploads - target different than media folder

    Hi, I want to enable the user to upload media which will not be saved in the media folder. When I use the following line of code data will be uploaded to media/upload/logo . logo_img = models.FileField(upload_to='upload/logo', blank=True) I'm wondering how I can change this behaviour. I would try to write a custom FileField and a view that serves the data based on the database entries. I do not want to place the data the user uploads to the media folder, since it is no public data. Is this approach correct? Are there solutions out there which do exactly what I want and I would reinvent the wheel with implementing this by myself? Would appreciate any help!

  • Hibernate pojo file issues

    Hi all I am currently using netbeans for a project. I have created my db using MySQL Workbench. I have two relationships that are one to one. However once I create the POJOs using netbeans hibernate mapping files tools they are being created as one to many. I have tried reversing the db within workbench and the relationships are shown as one to ones. Has anyone had a similar problem? Cheers in advanced

  • Line appears on paper each time HTML file is printed

    My application builds and prints HTML reports using AxWebBrowser.ExecWb method. Lately each time a report is printed a thin horizontal line is printed across it. It's not supposed to be there, it doesn't appear in any preview (Word, browser), but it's always there on the paper, always at the same absolute location and regardless of the printer type. Any ideas?

  • Running server-program from a .jar file

    I have created and am working on a server-application that monitors for specific folders and takes appropriate actions whenever files are being added. Now I come to the point where I want to be able to shutdown the program, for example for applying a patch. The server runs simply in a command prompt, how can I signal that I want to perform maintenance on it? I do not think reading System.In is feasible as I am also outputting text in the prompt.   • ruby tests - error messages don't include line numbers or file name

    Hi all, How do I get line numbers to be reported with my errors when testing. Here is what I get back on a typical error: josh@josh-laptop:~/d/test$ ruby unit/line_test.rb -n test_update Loaded suite unit/line_test Started E Finished in 0.066663 seconds. 1) Error: test_update(LineTest): NameError: undefined local variable or method `sdf' for #<LineTest:0xb6e61304> 1 tests, 0 assertions, 0 failures, 1 errors It is tough to debug without a line number and filename. From the code samples I've seen, people generally get back a more verbose error reports. How do I enable this? Thanks!

  • how to make war file take up less memory

    I need help on how to decrease the memory usage of my web app. so I can fit more into my webserver. so I'm building a java web app with JSF 2.0 developing in eclipse helios and running on an Apache tomcat Server. And I have a dedicated virtual server with a tomcat aswell where I deploy these war files. the webApp is about 35MB in size ( it has a lot of jars and such) but when I deploy it to my tomcat webserver, I can see it takes about 300MB of RAM, is this normal? my dedicated server only has 2GB of ram from which normally have 1 to use. so I as soon as I deploy 3 apps I get an OOM error, I've gotten permgen OOM and a out of swamp Memory error; to fix this I upped my MaxPermGen to about a gig and resytarted the server to get back some swamp space. so I tried deploying smaller older apps ( about 15MB) and they take up waay less memory. If I have 1 GB of ram I want to be able to fit more apps into my webserver without getting any OOM Errors. now I found this stack overflow Question, Can that be applied to my case? and if so, which are the common folders in the tomcat server? anyone done this before or have a different more effective, not so complicated approach? Any ideas, and or commets are more than appreciated. Thanks! Myy

Resetting the simulator solved all my troubles before, and I've gone on to complete my App. I now have the exact same problem when installing the app onto my iPhone device. (I've so far tried regular app deletion, deleting and then holding home and power for a reboot, cursing at and threatening the app while running it... everything) 2) How do I prevent this happening when my application is in the App store, and I for some reason decide that I want to add another entity to the store, or another attribute to the existing entities? is there an "if x doesn't exist then create it" method?

    My friend is making a website for a class. Some of the pages display gif image files as links. They display correctly in Firefox and Chrome but not in Internet Explorer. Anybody know why?     I need to add "annotations" to existing HTML documents - best in the form of string property values I can read & write by name. Apparently (to me), meta elements in the header seem to be the common way - i.e. adding/modifying elements like <head> <meta name="unique-id_property-name" content="property-value"/> ... </head> Question 1: Ist that "acceptable" / ok, or is there a better way to add meta data? I have a little previous experience with getting/mut(il)ating HTML contents through the document in an web browser control. For this task, I've already loaded the HTML document into a HTMLDocument object, but I'm not sure how to go on: // what I have IHTMLDocument2Ptr doc; doc.CreateInstance(__uuidof(HTMLDocument)); IPersistFile pf = doc; pf->Load(fileName, STGM_READ); // everything ok until here Questions 2: Should I be using anything else than HTMLDocument? Questions 3..N: How do I get the head element? How do I get the value of a meta element with a given name? How do I set the value of a meta element (adding the item if and only if it doesn't exist yet)? doc->all returns a collection of all tags, which I can enumerate even though count returns 0. I could scan that for head, then scan that for all meta where the name starts with a certain string, etc. - but this feels very clumsy.

    Hi All, I am listening for Directory and disk changes in a COCOA project using FSEvents. I need to get events when a root folder is renamed or deleted. So, I passed kFSEventStreamCreateFlagWatchRoot while creating the FSEventStream.But even if I delete or rename the root folder I am not getting corresponding FSEventStreamEventFlags. Any idea what could possibly be the issue. I am listening for changes in a USB mounted device. I used both FSEventStreamCreate and FSEventStreamCreateRelativeToDevice. One thing I notices is when I try with FSEventStreamCreate I get the following error message while creating FSEventStream: (CarbonCore.framework) FSEventStreamCreate: watch_all_parents: error trying to add kqueue for fd 7 (/Volumes/NO NAME; Operation not supported) But with FSEventStreamCreateRelativeToDevice there are no errors but still not getting kFSEventStreamEventFlagRootChanged in event flags. Also, while creation using FSEventStreamCreateRelativeToDevice apple say's if I want to listen to root path changes pass emty string "". But I am not able to listen to root path changes by passing empty string. But when I pass "/" it works. But even for "/" I do not get any proper FSEventStreamEventFlags.   • Can I just download the Ubuntu ISO file to my USB and run it straight away with no installers?

    I don't have access to running any installer at the minute so I knew that if running from the CD you just burn the iso file to the CD and your ready to go..but can I download this iso file to my USB and run it straight away when I change my bios to boot from USB?..or do I have to use the installer?..I can't use the installer for different reasons and I'm not really looking to install ubuntu just yet I just want to run it off my USB to try it out..so is it possible not to use the installer to put it on my USB? (I downloaded Ubuntu 12.10)

  • Parsing a CSV File to a Rails Database

    G'day guys, I'm using fasterCSV and a rake script to parse a csv with about 30 columns into my rails db for a 'Trade' item. The script works fine when all of the values are set to strings, but when I change it to a decimal, int or other value, everything goes to hell. Wondering if fasterCSV has built in int etc parsing or whether I'll have to manage these within my model. Basically, I'm given a giant amount of trades data, need to import it, and then need to provide feedback with say the average trade volume, the times, etc. I understand I can do that all with the wonderful records provided to me by activeRecord but wondered if there was an easier way to populate a rather large Database with a given CSV? Several of the fields don't have values for certain rows, fasterCSV seems to work perfectly when they're all strings, but not when I try to get decimal or other.

    Oftentimes, when using git, I find myself in this situation: I have changes to several files, but I only want to commit parts of them. I have added several untracked files, which I want to track and commit. Solving the first part is easy; I run: git add -p Then, I choose which hunks to stage, and which hunks remain in my working tree, but unstaged. However, git's patch mode skips over untracked files. What I would like to do is something like: git add --untracked But no such option appears to exist. If I have, say, six untracked files, I could stage them using add in interactive mode and the add untracked option, like so: git add -i a<CR> 1<CR> 2<CR> 3<CR> 4<CR> 5<CR> 6<CR> <CR> q<CR> I feel like there is, or should be, a quicker way of doing this, though. What am I missing?
