• How to use AFIncrementalStore to binding with a NSManagedObject

  I am searching for more information on how to use AFIncrementalStore. I need to know how to implement it step by step. Please don't down vote it, because of many resources, I really need help with this. If I understood right AFIncrementalStore it is a layer for fetching data from the server and for the mapping data model. Am I right? So I have few URL that I need to mapping into my local model. All of them use GET requests. For example base_url/api/categories I get this string in response: [{"category":{"name":"3d max","id":"1111001","users":[]}}, {"category":{"name":"photoshop","id":"1111002","users":[]}}, {"category":{"name":"auto cad","id":"1111003","users":[]}}] So I have a question how I can binding my local db with this data using AFIncrementalStore. Also if you can see there are relationships in the response string that are connected to uses. The array for users will contain id that is correspond to concert users. So I think second question is how to point that model has to have relationship.

• jQuery resizable() dynamic maxWidth option

  I have 3 columns that are resizable. When one is made wider, the one to it's left is made smaller. Essentially there are only 2 handles. Left col and Mid col. So when Mid col is made thinner, Right col expands accordingly. All three of them are contained with a 900px parent div, so the sum of all three is always 900. They have max and min widths set statically. My issue is that if you take the left handle and move it all the way to the right you're still able to use the right handle and expand the mid col past the edge of the parent div. I thought of a way to solve that issue by writing up a function that checks the widths of the columns and then subtracts left and right columns from the parent div width, I called it mWid. This leaves me with the number I want to set as the maxWidth for Mid col.   I'm facing an issue of duplicated incremental field on a concurrency scenario. I'm using EF as the ORM tool, attempting to insert an entity with a field that acts as a incremental INT field. Basically this field is called "SequenceNumber", where each new record before insert, will read the database using MAX to get the last SequenceNumber, append +1 to it, and saves the changes. Between the getting of last SequenceNumber and Saving, that's where the concurrency is happening. I'm not using ID for SequenceNumber as it is not a unique constraint, and may reset on certain conditions such as monthly, yearly, etc. InvoiceNumber | SequenceNumber | DateCreated INV00001_08_14 | 1 | 25/08/2014 INV00001_08_14 | 1 | 25/08/2014 <= (concurrency is creating two SeqNo 1) INV00002_08_14 | 2 | 25/08/2014 INV00003_08_14 | 3 | 26/08/2014 INV00004_08_14 | 4 | 27/08/2014 INV00005_08_14 | 5 | 29/08/2014 INV00001_09_14 | 1 | 01/09/2014 <= (sequence number reset) Invoice number is formatted based on the SequenceNumber. • Avoid an "out of memory error" in Java(eclipse), when using large data structure?

  OK, so I am writing a program that unfortunately needs to use a huge data structure to complete its work, but it is failing with a "out of memory error" during its initialization. While I understand entirely what that means and why it is a problem, I am having trouble overcoming it, since my program needs to use this large structure and I don't know any other way to store it. The program first indexes a large corpus of text files that I provide. This works fine. Then it uses this index to initialize a large 2D array. This array will have nXn entries, where "n" is the number of unique words in the corpus of text. For the relatively small chunk I am testing it on(about 60 files) it needs to make approximately 30,000x30,000 entries. this will probably be bigger once I run it on my full intended corpus too. It consistently fails every time, after it indexes, while it is initializing the data structure(to be worked on later). Things I have done include: revamp my code to use a primitive "int[]" instead of a "TreeMap" eliminate redundant structures, etc... Also, I have run eclipse with "eclipse -vmargs -Xmx2g" to max out my allocated memory I am fairly confident this is not going to be a simple line of code solution, but is most likely going to require a very new approach. I am looking for what that approach is, any ideas? Thanks, B.

• Getting the last User ID in Zend Framework

  Using MySQL query browser, I manually made a table called users and input some date in the fields. I set the primary key to id and set it to auto increment. There are 3 rows, the highest id is 3. I then made the following class in the method directory to call upon the data in the table etc. class Application_Model_DbTable_User extends Zend_Db_Table_Abstract { protected $_name = 'user'; public function getLatestUserId() { $id = $this->getAdapter()->lastInsertId(); return $id; } } In the controller I do the following which gets the value generated by the method and lets the view access it: $usersDbModel = new Application_Model_DbTable_User(); $lastUserId = $usersDbModel->getLatestUserId(); $this->view->lastUserId = $lastUserId; In the view I then echo it to display it to the user: echo $this->lastUserId; However, even though my last id in the users table is 3. It displays 0. I have also tried: public function getLatestUserId() { $sql = 'SELECT max(id) FROM user'; $query = $this->query($sql); $result = $query->fetchAll(); return $result; } But this just throws out a server error. What have I done wrong? Am I missing something? Is there another way of doing this?

• jQuery Looking for a function to equalize heights of divs based on tallest image in a table.

  I am doing a site that will have a table with a bunch of images in them. They are user added images so I have no control over aspect ratio, what I do have control over is I can the force a max height/width and the image will not exceed this in either direction, but the height can (and will) fluctuate. <table class="pl_upload"> <tr class="row1"> <td class="col1"> <div> <div class="img-container"> <a href="#"><img src="img.jpg" width="182" alt="X" /></a> </div> </div> </td> ....... What I need ideally is to get the height of the tallest image and then make the all of the children divs the same height based on the height of the tallest one. • qTip pop ups come in from top left of screen (on first load)

  Hi, not sure if i'm set things up incorrectly - I don't seem to see anyone else with this problem, but my qTip popups (all ajax loaded content) are loading quite erratically, in that they are often animating in from off screen before appearing in the correct position. Is there a simple solution to this which I may have missed? Thanks again for your help.   I read all topics related to this question in stackoverflow and whole internet and cant find working sollution... Each owner has his item and when someone buy his item, owner gets an confirmation email, but when in cart is few same owner items, he gets several same email letters, so I need to remove dublicated array entries. I have tried to use DISTINCT and array_uniques functions but no luck. Any advices? • Using the Queue class in Python 2.6

  Let's assume I'm stuck using Python 2.6, and can't upgrade (even if that would help). I've written a program that uses the Queue class. My producer is a simple directory listing. My consumer threads pull a file from the queue, and do stuff with it. If the file has already been processed, I skip it. The processed list is generated before all of the threads are started, so it isn't empty. Here's some pseudo-code. import Queue, sys, threading processed = [] def consumer(): while True: file = dirlist.get(block=True) if file in processed: print "Ignoring %s" % file else: # do stuff here dirlist.task_done() dirlist = Queue.Queue() for f in os.listdir("/some/dir"): dirlist.put(f) max_threads = 8 for i in range(max_threads): thr = Thread(target=consumer) thr.start() dirlist.join() The strange behavior I'm getting is that if a thread encounters a file that's already been processed, the thread stalls out and waits until the entire program ends. I've done a little bit of testing, and the first 7 threads (assuming 8 is the max) stop, while the 8th thread keeps processing, one file at a time. But, by doing that, I'm losing the entire reason for threading the application. Am I doing something wrong, or is this the expected behavior of the Queue/threading classes in Python 2.6?

The code compiled and run without crashing on Windows XP when I compiled it using VS2005. I have now moved the code to Ubuntu Karmic and I am having problems with the stricter compiler on Linux. Is anyone able to spot what is causing the parameter not to be read correctly in the var_arg() statement? I am compiling using gcc version 4.4.1 Edit The statement that causes the SEGV is this one: start = getMaxStart(start, 1, ms1); The variables 'start' and 'ms1' have valid values when the code execution first reaches this line.

• Getting an updated location in Android

  Hi, I'm using the code shown below to get an updated value for location every time a button is clicked. When my activity is resumed I get an update every second, so that when I call getLastKnownLocation I expect to have a location that have been updated in the last second. Is that the correct way to do that? I would expect the onLocationChanged event to be triggered every time I execute a 'geo fix' command (or max after 1s since I request update every 1s), but it's only triggered the first time. Why? Any help/suggestion welcome!   When are predicates appropriate and what is the best pattern for usage? What are the advantages of predicates? It seems to me like most cases where a predicate can be employed a tight loop would accomplish the same functionality? I don’t see a reusability argument given you will probably only implement a predicate in one method right? They look and feel nice but besides that they seem like you would only employ them when you need a quick hack on the collection classes? UPDATE But why would you be rewriting the tight loop again and again? In my mind/code when it comes to collections I always end up with something like Class Person End Class Class PersonList Inherits List(Of Person) Function FindByName(Name) as Person tight loop....   The following simple program is causing me a Databinding headache. I'm new to this which is why I suspect it has a simple answer. Basically, I have two text boxes bound to the same property myString. I have not set up the ViewModel (simply a class with one property, myString) to provide any notifications to the View for when myString is changed, so even although both text boxes operate a two way binding there should be no way that the text boxes update when myString is changed, am I right? Except... In most circumstances this is true - I use the 'change value' button at the bottom of the window to change the value of myString to whatever the user types into the adjacent text box, and the two text boxes at the top, even although they are bound to myString, do not change. Fine. However, if I edit the text in TextBox1, thus changing the value of myString (although only when the text box loses focus due to the default UpdateSourceTrigger property, see reference), TextBox2 should NOT update as it shouldn't receive any updates that myString has changed. However, as soon as TextBox1 loses focus (say click inside TextBox2) TextBox2 is updated with the new value of myString. My best guess so far is that because the TextBoxes are bound to the same property, something to do with TextBox1 updating myString gives TextBox2 a notification that it has changed. Very confusing as I haven't used INotifyPropertyChanged or anything like that. To clarify, I am not asking how to fix this. I know I could just change the binding mode to a oneway option. I am wondering if anyone can come up with an explanation for this strange behaviour? • Linear Search with Jagged Array?

  Hello, I have the following program that creates 100 random elements trough a array. Those 100 random value's are unique, and every value only gets displayed once. Although with the linear search it keeps looking up the entire array. How would i be able to get a Jagged Array into this, so it only "scans" the remaining places left? (assuming i keep the table at 100 max elements, so if one random value is generated the array holds 99 elements with linear search scans and on...) I assume i would have to implent the jagged array somewhere in the FoundLinearInArray? Hopefully this made any sence. • DataReader is not returning results from a MySQL Stored Proc

  I have a stored proc in MySQL (5.5) that I'm calling from a C# application (using MySQL.Data v6.4.4.0). I have a bunch of other procs that work fine, but this is not returning any results, the data reader says the result set is empty. The proc does a couple of inserts & an update inside a transaction then selects 2 local variables to return. The inserts & update are happening, but the select is not returning. When I run the proc manually it works, gives a single row with the two fields, but the data reader is empty.   This is an interview question from google. I am not able to solve it by myself. Can somebody throw some light? The question goes like this. Write a program to print the sequence of keystrokes such that it generates the maximum number of character 'A's. You are allowed to use only 4 keys: 'A', CTRL + 'A', CTRL + 'C' and CTRL + 'V'. Only N keystrokes are allowed. All CTRL+ characters are considered as one keystroke, so CTRL+A is one keystroke. e.g.: A, ctrl+A, ctrl+C, ctrl+V generates two As in 4 keystrokes. Edit: CTRL + A is Select All CTRL + C is copy CTRL + V is paste I did some mathematics. For any N, using x numbers of A's , one CTRL+A, one CTRL+C and y CTRL+V, we can generate max ((N-1)/2)^2 numbers of A's. But for some N M, it is better to use as many ^A, ^C and ^V as it doubles the number of As. Edit 2: ^A, ^V and ^C will not overwrite on the existing selection but it will append the copied selection to selected one.
