• How to accurately parse smtp message status code (DSN)?

  RFC1893 claims that status codes will come in the format below you can read more here. But our bounce management system is having a hard time parsing error status code from bounce messages. We are able to get the raw message, but depending on the email server the code will come in different places. Is there any rule on how to parse this type of messages to obtain better results. We are not looking for the 100% solution but at least 80%. This document defines a new set of status codes to report mail system conditions. These status codes are intended to be used for media and language independent status reporting. They are not intended for system specific diagnostics. The syntax of the new status codes is defined as: status-code = class "." subject "." detail class = "2"/"4"/"5" subject = 1*3digit detail = 1*3digit White-space characters and comments are NOT allowed within a status- code. Each numeric sub-code within the status-code MUST be expressed without leading zero digits. The quote above from the RFC tells one thing but then the text below from a leading tool on bounce management says something different, where I can get a good source of standard status codes: Return Code Description 0 UNDETERMINED - (ie. • Foreach is crashing script, but no errors reported.

  So I've created this smarty function to get images from my flickr photostream using SimplePie... simple really, or so it should be. The problem I'm having is the foreach will crash the script, this doesn't happen if I put an exit after the closing foreach, of course because of this the rest of my script doesn't execute. The problem also completely subsides if I remove the foreach, I've tested it and it's not the contents of the foreach, but the loop itself. Error reporting is turned on but I don't get any, I also tried messing with the memory_limit, with no luck. Anyone know why this foreach is killing my script? • Adding editFTPnetPRO to SSIS package causes error message

  I'm trying to add some secure FTP code to an SSIS package. I've used the EnterpriseDT product successfully on other .NET projects, so I wanted to incorporate it into an SSIS 2008 package I'm working on. If I create a Script Task (VB), edit the script, choose Project | Add Reference, and select the editFTPnetPRO.dll file, it comes back with this error: No template information found. See the application log in Event Viewer for more details. To open Event Viewer, click Start, click Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Event Viewer. The application log doesn't contain any pertinent details. I have no idea what this is trying to tell me. I've gone down a couple dead ends searching for this error message and following the prescribed fixes, but nothing has fixed it yet. Any idea what might be going wrong? P.S. - I tried the devenv.exe /installvstemplates fix, which didn't change anything. Update: Here is the error captured in the SSIS package when you try to run it: Error: System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. --- System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'edtFTPnetPRO, Version=6.3.1.20, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=0dce1ad63760d80b' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. Where is it looking for this file? I tried copying it to the project direcory, the bin folder, and the C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.nnnn folder, but it still can't find it, and it won't tell me where it's looking.

• Status Code from FTPWebRequest GetResponse method

  This is slightly tricky. I am uploading files to FTP asynchronously. After uploading each file I am checking the status of the upload operation for that file. This can be done with StatusCode property of the FtpWebResponse object for that request. The code snippet is as give below. System.IO.FileStream fs = System.IO.File.Open(fileName, System.IO.FileMode.Open); while ((iWork = fs.Read(buf, 0, buf.Length)) > 0) requestStream.Write(buf, 0, iWork); requestStream.Close(); FtpWebResponse wrRet = ((FtpWebResponse)state.Request.GetResponse()); There are about 37 StatusCode values as per msdn. I am unaware as to which of these status code values will assure that the file is uploaded successfully. Some of them I used in my code to check for success are : wrRet.StatusCode == FtpStatusCode.CommandOK wrRet.StatusCode == FtpStatusCode.ClosingData wrRet.StatusCode == FtpStatusCode.ClosingControl wrRet.StatusCode == FtpStatusCode.ConnectionClosed wrRet.StatusCode == FtpStatusCode.FileActionOK wrRet.StatusCode == FtpStatusCode.FileStatus But I am unaware of the rest. I need to be sure about these codes because based on the failure or success of the upload operation I have other dependant operations to be carried out. A wrong condition can affect the remaining code. Another thought that crossed my mind was to simply put the above code into a try..catch and not depend on these status codes. With this I would not be depending on the status codes and assuming that any failure will always be directed to the catch block. Kindly let me know if this is the right way. Thanks in advance.

Now I'd like to go further and redo it using some more complicated java features like collections, but I've never used anything more complicated than 2d matrix. What should I look at and how to start with it. Should Tower become a Collection ? And here's the task : We have two classes - Tower and Block. Towers are built from Blocks. Then I found that I should change in From <add key="ChartImageHandler" value="storage=file;timeout=20;dir=c:\TempImageFiles\;" /> To <add key="ChartImageHandler" value="storage=file;timeout=20;" /> I am not able to find this section in my web.config file. So I tried to add it under section but it gave me error that it is an invalid child Likewise, I tried adding it under section, it too gave the same error... So, I added sepeartely, Then I am not able to see anything.. The webpage is just blank... What should I have to do.. Can anyone tell me "how to solve it"

  Hello, guys. I've got annoyed problem. I've got WCF service(basicHttpBinding with Transport security Https). This service implements contract which consists 2 methods. LoadData. GetData. GetData works OK!. My client received pachage ~2Mb size without problems. All work correctly. But when I try load data by bool LoadData(Stream data); - signature of method I'll get (413) Request Entity Too Large. Stack Trace: Server stack trace: ? • split string error in a compiled VB.NET class

  I'm having some trouble compiling some VB code I wrote to split a string based on a set of predefined delimeters (comma, semicolon, colon, etc). I have successfully written some code that can be loaded inside a custom VB component (I place this code inside a VB.NET component in a plug-in called Grasshopper) and everything works fine. For instance, let's say my incoming string is "123,456". When I feed this string into the VB code I wrote, I get a new list where the first value is "123" and the second value is "456". However, I have been trying to compile this code into it's own class so I can load it inside Grasshopper separately from the standard VB component. When I try to compile this code, it isn't separating the string into a new list with two values. Instead, I get a message that says "System.String []". Do you guys see anything wrong in my compile code?   Hello, I'm new to C# and am stuck on the following. I have a Silverlight web service that uses LINQ to query a ADO.NET entity object. e.g.: [OperationContract] public List<Customer> GetData() { using (TestEntities ctx = new TestEntities()) { var data = from rec in ctx.Customer select rec; return data.ToList(); } } This works fine, but what I want to do is to make this more abstract. The first step would be to return a List<EntityObject> but this gives a compiler error, e.g.: [OperationContract] public List<EntityObject> GetData() { using (TestEntities ctx = new TestEntities()) { var data = from rec in ctx.Customer select rec; return data.ToList(); } } The error is: Error 1 Cannot implicitly convert type 'System.Collections.Generic.List<SilverlightTest.Web.Customer>' to 'System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable<System.Data.Objects.DataClasses.EntityObject>'. • Why does 12:20 PM parse to 0:20 on the next day?

  I'm using java.text.SimpleDateFormat to parse string representations of date/time values inside an XML document. I'm seeing all times that have an hour value of 12 shifted by 12 hours into the future, i. e. 20 minutes past noon gets parsed to mean 20 minutes past midnight the following day. I wrote a unit test which seems to confirm that the error is made upon parsing (I checked the return values from getTime() with the linux shell command date). Now I'm wondering: is there a bug in the parse() method? is there something wrong with the input string? am I using the wrong format string for the input? The input data is taken from Yahoo's YWeather service. • C#: Why am I still getting an RCW error when exiting my application?

  To be specific, the error is: An attempt has been made to free an RCW that is in use. The RCW is in use on the active thread or another thread. Attempting to free an in-use RCW can cause corruption or data loss. The application in question is a small applet that displays the current clock speed of the CPU as a system tray icon. I'm using a System.Timers.Timer object to refresh the systray icon at an interval of 2.5 seconds. There's a single context menu item to exit the application, which uses the following function to unload everything: public void ExitApp(object sender, EventArgs e) { //stop and disable the timer theInterval.Stop(); theInterval.Enabled = false; //unload the system tray icon TheIcon.Visible = false; //exit the application Application.Exit(); } If I take out everything but Application.Exit(); I get an RCW error and the systray icon doesn't go away until I mouse over it. Everything was working perfectly until I changed the window style of the hidden form used to initialize the systray icon and the timer. If it helps any, I'm using C# 2010 Express.

• Virtual properties duplicated during serialization when XmlElement attribute used

  The Goal: XML serialize an object that contains a list of objects of that and its derived types. The resulting XML should not use the xsi:type attribute to describe the type, to wit the names of the serialized XML elements would be an assigned name specific to the derived type, not always that of the base class, which is the default behavior. The Attempt: After exploring IXmlSerializable and IXmlSerializable with eerie XmlSchemaProvider methods and voodoo reflection to return specialized schemas and an XmlQualifiedName over the course of days, I found I was able to use the simple [XmlElement] attribute to accomplish the goal... almost. The Problem: Overridden properties appear twice when serializing. The exception reads "The XML element 'overriddenProperty' from namespace '' is already present in the current scope. Use XML attributes to specify another XML name or namespace for the element." I attempted using a *Specified property (see code), but it didn't work. • Datatable add new column and values speed issue

  I am having some speed issue with my datatables. In this particular case I am using it as holder of data, it is never used in GUI or any other scenario that actually uses any of the fancy features. In my speed trace, this particular constructor was showing up as a heavy user of time when my database is ~40k rows. This feels too much like a big giant hack that will eventually come and bite me. You might suggest that I dont use DataTable at all, but I have already considered that and rejected it due to the amount of effort that would be required to reimplement with a custom class. The main reason it is a datatable is that it is ancient code (.net 1.1 time) and I dont want to spend that much time changing it, and it is also because the original table comes out of a third party component.

• Help me understand entity framework 4 caching for lazy loading

  I am getting some unexpected behaviour with entity framework 4.0 and I am hoping someone can help me understand this. I am using the northwind database for the purposes of this question. I am also using the default code generator (not poco or self tracking). I am expecting that anytime I query the context for the framework to only make a round trip if I have not already fetched those objects. I do get this behaviour if I turn off lazy loading. Currently in my application I am breifly turning on lazy loading and then turning it back off so I can get the desired behaviour. That pretty much sucks, so please help. Here is a good code example that can demonstrate my problem. • Web form is not updating tables, why?

  I have a web application and on page is an update page to update some profile information. Below is the code I am using to update the table. But I think it is wrong. Does anything stick out? The connection string works cause it is used to read the database to get the profile information, I just removed it due to it containing password/login info for the db. player is the class of properties that contains player information and ds is the dataset, but I would like to update the database itself online... I have added the code and I "think" it is working, but I cannot see the results, I only see one line at the very bottom of vim that says (1 of 32) but I cannot see any of the 32 errors. • GoDaddy Subdomain Hosting Issue/Question with Disk Access (C#/ASP.NET 3.5)

  This isn't a very complicated scenario really, but as I start to type out the problem I'm realizing how convoluted it can become textually. Let me try and be very clear: First, the set up... I have a C#/ASP.NET web application that is publicly facing on my main domain (www), let's call it www.mysite.com. Nothing fancy, just a front-end that connects to SQL to display records. Then, I have a second C#/ASP.NET web application that is secured using forms authentication running on a subdomain, let's call it admin.mysite.com. This is a very light-weight CMS system to administer the public site. Now, the problem... Both of these sites run fine for basic tasks, however, my problem arises when I try to gain access to the file system for uploading. GoDaddy requires subdomains to run as a virtual directories under the main application in IIS (so the subdomains actually resolve/re-direct to www.mysite.com/admin when you type in admin.mysite.com), but because of this I am unable to write to my website root from the subfolder. Let me explain a little more... The CMS system (running as a virtual directory) gives the admin the ability to upload photos for display on the main site, the target folder of which is www.mysite.com/images - when attempting disk access from the root app, I am able to write to the virtual directory, but cannot do the opposite -- that is, write to the root from the virtual directory, getting security violations. If I can only upload to the /admin/ virtual directory, the entire point is moot because it's a secured folder that the public can't see! The only solution I can think of is to upload the files to the /admin/ virtual directory, then call a URL in the root that moves files from /admin/ back to the root, but that is entirely ghetto. I hope this post makes sense. Anyone else experience anything like this? The bottom line is that it seems virtual directories ONLY have access to themselves, and not their parent directories, no matter what credentials are used. Thanks!

I am trying to use jdk6 to run JBOSS 5.1, and I downloaded the JDK6 version of JBOSS 5.1. This works fine and my EAR application deploys fine. However, when I want to run a web service client with code like this: public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception { System.out.println("creating the web service client..."); TestClient client = new TestClient("http://localhost:8080/tc_test_project-tc_test_project/TestBean?wsdl"); Test service = client.getTestPort(); System.out.println("calling service.retrieveAll() using the service client"); List<TestEntity> list = service.retrieveAll(); System.out.println("the number of elements in list retrieved using the client is " + list.size()); } I get the following exception: javax.xml.ws.WebServiceException: java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException: setProperty must be overridden by all subclasses of SOAPMessage at org.jboss.ws.core.jaxws.client.ClientImpl.handleRemoteException(ClientImpl.java:396) at org.jboss.ws.core.jaxws.client.ClientImpl.invoke(ClientImpl.java:302) at org.jboss.ws.core.jaxws.client.ClientProxy.invoke(ClientProxy.java:170) at org.jboss.ws.core.jaxws.client.ClientProxy.invoke(ClientProxy.java:150) Now, here's the really interesting part. If I change the JDK that my the code above is running under from JDK6 to JDK5, the exception above goes away! It's really strange. The only way I found for the code above to run under JDK6 was to take the JBOSS_HOME/lib/endorsed folder and copy it to JDK6_HOME/lib. This seems like it shouldn't be necessary, but it is. Is there any other way to make this work other than using the workaround I just described?

If I call m.getClass() I obtain "mypackage.Message1", so the subclass and not the superclass. I try with this code (use reflection): p.handler(m.getClass().cast(m)); But the output is Interface: Message So, this is my problem. I would do a runtime cast of superclass object to subclassobject without use the "code command" istanceof. I would a right command like this: p.handler((m.getclass)m); How can I obtain it?
