• Invalidate (MFC) debug assertion failed error message

  I've made a custom control, and when I want it to repaint on the screen I call Invalidate(), and afterwards UpdateWindow(), but i get message: debug assertion failed for a file afxwin2.inl in line 150 which is: AFXWIN_INLINE void CWnd::Invalidate(BOOL bErase) { ASSERT(::IsWindow(m_hWnd)); ::InvalidateRect(m_hWnd, NULL, bErase); } The thing is that when I run the same app in release mode, it doesn't report any message! So this clue makes me think it's about some environment configuration I should change. What do you think? Thanks.

• Visual studio won't debug into referenced DLL (from same solution)

  I have a Visual studio 2008 solution, with 2 projects. A DLL, A, and a Web application, B. B has a project reference to A, and A.dll and A.pdb are being copied to B's bin/ directory. Everything is set to compile in debug mode. I can run the cassini webserver and debug web application B fine, but when I come to call a method in A.dll, pressing F11 to step into it does not step into it, it steps over it. I want to step into it. Any ideas why I might not be able to step into the source code of A?

  We have an application that is undergoing performance testing. Today, I decided to take a dump of w3wp & load it in windbg to see what is going on underneath the covers. • Expanding all items of a NSOutlineView that loads data from a data source

  First of all I'm new to cocoa development so I suppose I'm probably trying to do this the wrong way, but here goes: I have a NSOutlineView which loads the data from a NSOutlineViewDataSource imnplementation. I want all the items to be expanded after they are loaded, but i can't seem to find an event fired when the data has finished loading, so I can send a [outlineView expandItem:nil expandChildren: YES] to it. I looked into the NSOutlineViewDelegate protocol but I was unable to find a sutable place for this call. What would be the best approach for this problem ?

• MKMapView not centered on pin

  Hi all, I have an mkmapview that i'm currently adding pins to, but for some reason when I call [mapView setRegion:[detailItem coordinateRegion] animated:YES]; the pin is off-centered (toward the right side of the screen) on the map. Here is the code for [deailItem coordinateRegion]: - (MKCoordinateRegion)coordinateRegion { MKCoordinateRegion region = { {0.0, 0.0 }, { 0.0, 0.0 } }; region.center = self.coordinate; region.span.longitudeDelta = 0.0075f; region.span.latitudeDelta = 0.0075f; return (region); } I'm setting the coordinateRegion's center to the object's x,y coordinate, so why is it off-center on the map? • Drupal Filefield won't upload javascript files?

  Hiya, I've got a site where individual pages might require some javascript or CSS files hooked into their heads. I'm trying to keep everything client side when it comes to managing this process, rather than getting on the FTP and sorting everything out in the code so I need to be able to upload css and js files. I've got CCK filefield up and running, and it works with css files, but it refuses to upload .js files. It instead seems to view every .js as ".js.txt" and then the file appears on the server as thisismyfile.js.txt Not ideal... Does anyone know how to work around this. Is it a mime type problem with Drupal or the server, or is Drupal set up to avoid script uploads and n00b hack attacks. Once the files are uploaded I intend to use PHP mode on the page or node to call drupal_add_css and drupal_add_js.

  At the beginning of a section of C# code that could take several seconds to complete, I'd like to display a non modal form with a label that just says, "Please wait..." WaitForm myWaitForm = null; try { // if conditions suggest process will take awhile myWaitForm = new WaitForm(); myWaitForm.Show(); // do stuff } finally { if (myWaitForm != null) { myWaitForm.Hide(); myWaitForm.Dispose(); myWaitForm = null; } } The problem: the WaitForm doesn't completely display before the rest of the code ties up the thread. So I only see the frame of the form. In Delphi (my old stomping ground) I would call Application.ProcessMessages after the Show() Is there an equivalent in C#?   UITabBarController with UINavigationController "more" tab issue There is a problem with using UINavigationController in UITabBarController. I have a TabBar  with 6 items. Of course, a standart item "more" appears, and there are two UINavigationControllers that didn't fit in a TabBar. The core of the problem is: when I'm working with visible items (a first four), UIViewController can be pushed  in an UINavigationController: [self.navigationController pushViewController:userDataViewController animated:YES]; If you call on in "more" and rearrange items in such way, that a visible UINavigationController gets into "more", when calling on it userDataViewController appears.  This  userDataViewController is the last, which has got in a stack and a Back button leads back to "more", but not to the controllers, that were before a userDataViewController appeared. I understand that in fact a selector pushViewController is called from "more", and it pushes my UINavigationController in a stack, and it's not good. Maybe, someone has faced such problem and could help me to solve it? Thank you forward.

• Cakephp 1.3 controller save() does not save data

  Hi all, I want to add a new user to the database, and do so by making them fill in a form and submitting this. All seems to work fine. Just before my save() call in the controller I return all data and all necessary data is there. It is valid(ated), since no errors are returned. But then nothing happens. I'm being returned to my form without any errors being shown. This is my 'save-line': if($this->Registratie->save($this->data)) { I'm not making use of any beforeSave() methods. Using debug($this->validationErrors); shows: app/controllers/registratie_controller.php (line 45) Which is the line of code from above. I've been going through my code over and over, but I'm clueless as to what the problem could be. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

• Oracle vocabulary, what is the mysql/SQL Server equivalent of a database

  Hi, I need some help with vocabulary, I don't use Oracle that often but I am familiar with MySQL and SQL Server. I have an application I need to upgrade and migrate, and part of the procedure to do that involves exporting to an XML file, allowing the installer to create new database tables, then import to the new database tables from the XML file. In Oracle, my database connection specifies a username, password, and an SID. Let's call the SID, "COMPANY-APPS". This SID contains tables belonging to several applications, each of which connects with a different user ( "WIKIUSER", "BUGUSER", "TIMETRACKERUSER" ). My question is: Can I re-use the same user to create the new tables ( with the same names ). In MySQL or SQL Server, I would create a new database and grant my user privileges to create tables in it. OR, do I need to create a new database user for my upgraded tables?

  Hi there I'm writing a brush for Alex Gorbatchev's Syntax Highlighter to get highlighting for Smalltalk code. Now, consider the following Smalltalk code: aCollection do: [ :each | each shout ] I want to find the block argument ":each" and then match "each" every time it occurrs afterwards (for simplicity, let's say every occurrence an not just inside the brackets). Note that the argument can have any name, e.g. ":myArg". My attempt to match ":each": \:([\d\w]+) This seems to work. The problem is for me to match the occurrences of "each". I thought something like this could work: \:([\d\w]+)|\1 but the right hand side of the alternation seems to be treated as an independent expression, so backreferencing doesn't work. So my question is: is it even possible to accomplish what I want in a single expression? Or would I have to use the backreference within a second expression (via another function call)? Cheers.

• How can I stop IIS7 from using HttpHandlers?

  I'm having a bit of a play around with IIS7, just trying to catch events manually in global.asax and skip the ASP pipeline entirely. To this end, I've set <httpHandlers> <clear/> </httpHandlers> <httpModules> <clear/> </httpModules> but when I call the server I get a YSOD [HttpException]: No http handler was found for request type 'GET' at System.Web.HttpApplication.MapHttpHandler(HttpContext context, String requestType, VirtualPath path, String pathTranslated, Boolean useAppConfig) at System.Web.HttpApplication.MapHandlerExecutionStep.System.Web.HttpApplication.IExecutionStep.Execute() at System.Web.HttpApplication.ExecuteStep(IExecutionStep step, Boolean& completedSynchronously) What do I need to do to completely prevent IIS from handling things? Because if I delete it, the code that call this method cannot use the IQueryable (perhaps because of deferred execution?). How to force immediate execution to this method? • MVC2 Annotations dll not found by VS2008 compiler, how do I make it look in the right place?

  I have VS2008 SP1 running with .NET 3.5 SP1 I have MVC2 running (with MVC1 uninstalled) All works ok except when I call the System.Components.DatAnnotations.dll, then the compiler complains of not being able to find it. Message is: Could not load file or assembly 'System.ComponentModel.DataAnnotations, Version=99.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. I tried repairing and reinstalling SP1 of both VS and .Net framework. I also tried referencing the assembly by browsing to it in the Reference assemblies in Programs directory. I have tried out most of the Google search result forum results but to no avail, I think it may be something simple which I have over looked. Any ideas?

On click of button; it redirects to the path I mentioned in form action. With Tamper data I find that the request goes to URL ( as in method ) with GET and then it re-directs to form's action URL. • SQL: Need to SUM on results that meet a HAVING statement

  I have a table where we record per user values like money_spent, money_spent_on_candy and the date. So the columns in this table (let's call it MoneyTable) would be: UserId Money_Spent Money_Spent_On_Candy Date My goal is to SUM the total amount of money_spent -- but only for those users where they have spent more than 10% of their total money spent for the date range on candy. What would that query be? I know how to select the Users that have this -- and then I can output the data and sum that by hand but I would like to do this in one single query. Here would be the query to pull the sum of Spend per user for only the users that have spent 10% of their money on candy. SELECT UserId, SUM(Money_Spent), SUM(Money_Spent_On_Candy) / SUM(Money_Spent) AS PercentCandySpend FROM MoneyTable WHERE DATE >= '2010-01-01' HAVING PercentCandySpend > 0.1;

• why does python.subprocess hang after proc.communicate()?

  I've got an interactive program called my_own_exe. First, it prints out alive, then you input S\n and then it prints out alive again. Finally you input L\n. It does some processing and exits. However, when I call it from the following python script, the program seemed to hang after printing out the first 'alive'. Can anyone here tell me why this is happening?   Hi, I have a function that accepts a variable number of parameters: foo (Class... types); In which I get a certain number of class types. Next, I want to have a function bar( ?? ) That will accepts a variable number of parameters as well, and be able to verify that the variables are the same number (that's easy) and of the same types (the hard part) as was specified in foo. How can I do that? Edit: to clarify, a call could be: foo (String.class, Int.class); bar ("aaa", 32); // OK! bar (3); // ERROR! bar ("aa" , "bb"); //ERROR! Also, foo and bar are methods of the same class.

  Hi, in my C# WPF prog i´am trying to set a value of a HTML Text Element which is defined like: <input name="tbBName" type="text" id="tbBName" tabindex="1" /> What i found about it and tried is: mshtml.HTMLDocument doc = (mshtml.HTMLDocument)webBrowser1.Document; mshtml.HTMLInputTextElement tbName = (mshtml.HTMLInputTextElement)doc.getElementsByName("tbBName"); tbName.value = "Test"; But i got the exception: Unable to cast COM object of type 'System.__ComObject' to interface type 'mshtml.HTMLInputTextElement'. This operation failed because the QueryInterface call on the COM component for the interface with IID '{3050F520-98B5-11CF-BB82-00AA00BDCE0B}' failed due to the following error: No such interface supported (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004002 (E_NOINTERFACE)). I know what it says but i dont know which object i can use to access the Texbox. Thanks for any answers.
