    Hi everybody, In VS 2010, changing true in a MVC2 project's .csproj file causes an error if you are using Entity Framework. Could not load type 'System.Data.Entity.Design.AspNet.EntityDesignerBuildProvider'. C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\Config\web.config 129 I want to build views while I'm debugging, and I also want my project compile! Any ideas? Thanks.

    Our smart-client application is deployed using the ClickOnce. Our production site is hosted on 2 separate web servers, and they are pointed from the same domain-name (for load-balancing). Here is what we do when we push updates to the production. In VS, publish the smart-client application into a localhost directory Copy/Paste the directory to the webservers The deployment address from VS is localhost while it is being used in some other production website. Is that a proper way to deploy smart-client applications?

  • Asyncronus javascript rendering widgets

    Hey all, I'm creating a javascript widget so third partys (web designers) can post a link on their website and it will render the widget on their site. Currently, I'm doing this with just a script link tag: <div class="some_random_div_in_html_body"> <script type='text/javascript' src='http://remotehost.com/link/to/widget.js'></script> </div> However, this has the side-effect of slowing down a thrid party's website render times of the page if my site is under a load. Therefore, I'd like the third party website to request the widget link from my site asyncronously and then render it on their site when the widget link loads completely. The Google Analytics javascript snippet seems to have a nice bit of asyncronous code that does a nice async request to model off of, but I'm wondering if I can modify it so that it will render content on the third party's site.     I've boiled down my page to the simplest possible thing, and it still doesn't work in IE8. You can configure the Connect URL in the Application Settings Editor. I've sanitized the Connect URL above, but it is correct. The dialog does have username/password fields. If I log in, the dialog box gets redirected to my Connect URL, but there's no fb cookie, so of course nothing works. What am I doing wrong here?

    Hi all, I am using Ajax.dll.I have registered the class using Ajax.Utility.RegisterTypeForAjax(typeof(Default)) in page load. I have written a function in the server side to return "Name",like [Ajax.AjaxMethod(HttpSessionStateRequirement.ReadWrite)] public string GetName() { return "Test"; } and i accessed from the page like Default.GetName(). For first time its working fine.after leaving system idle for one hour if click any link, that throws error "default is undefined ". Is there anyway to fix this issue?

    Say a website on my localhost takes about 3 seconds to do each request. This is fine, and as expected (as it is doing some fancy networking behind the scenes). However, if i open the same url in tabs (in firefox), then reload them all at the same time, it appears to load each page sequentially rather than all at the same time. What is this all about? Have tried it on windows server 2008 iis and windows 7 iis

    I really need to make a UIWebView open up a specific PDF document that is in my project directory. I can't seem to find any tutorials on this.
