• Problem trying to achieve a join using the `comments` contrib in Django

  have read quite a lot about this error, the reason is 1) more than one jar containing this class have been include into the classpath, 2)include the jar twice or more, but in my case, this class is   What I'm trying to do is to update my database after a period of time. So I'm using java scheduler and connection pooling. I don't know why but my code only working once. • mysql_close doesn't kill locked sql requests

  I use mysqld Ver 5.1.37-2-log for debian-linux-gnu I perform mysql calls from c++ code with functions mysql_query. The problem occurs when mysql_query execute procedure, procedure locked on locked table, so mysql_query hangs. If send kill signal to application then we can see lock until table is locked. Create the following SQL table and procedure CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `tabletolock` ( `id` INT NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, PRIMARY KEY (`id`) )ENGINE = InnoDB; DELIMITER $$ DROP PROCEDURE IF EXISTS `LOCK_PROCEDURE` $$ CREATE PROCEDURE `LOCK_PROCEDURE`() BEGIN SELECT id INTO @id FROM tabletolock; END $$ DELOMITER; There are sql commands to reproduce the problem: 1. in one terminal execute lock tables tabletolock write; 2. in another terminal execute call LOCK_PROCEDURE(); 3. In first terminal exeute show processlist and see | 2492 | root | localhost | syn_db | Query | 12 | Locked | SELECT id INTO @id FROM tabletolock | Then perfrom Ctrl-C in second terminal to interrupt our procudere and see processlist again. It is not changed, we already see locked select request and can teminate it by unlock tables or kill commands. Problem described is occured with mysql command line client. Also such problem exists when we use functions mysql_query and mysql_close. Here's the situation: I can run Report Builder from localhost My coworker can run Report Builder on his Vista computer Another coworker can run Report Builder on his XP SP3 computer (IE7) I can NOT run Report Builder on my XP SP3 computer (IE7) I'm told that it could be anything from an errant registry entry to a group policy problem.   I am creating an mssql database table, "Orders", that will contain a varchar(50) field, "Value" containing a string that represents a slightly complex data type, "OrderValue". I am using a linqtosql datacontext class, which automatically types the "Value" column as a string. I gave the "OrderValue" class implicit conversion operators to and from a string, so I can easily use implicit conversion with the linqtosql classes like this: // get an order from the orders table MyDataContext db = new MyDataContext(); Order order = db.Orders(o => o.id == 1); // use implicit converstion to turn the string representation of the order // value into the complex data type. OrderValue value = order.Value; // adjust one of the fields in the complex data type value.Shipping += 10; // use implicit conversion to store the string representation of the complex // data type back in the linqtosql order object order.Value = value; // save changes db.SubmitChanges(); However, I would really like to be able to tell the linqtosql class to type this field as "OrderValue" rather than as "string". Then I would be able to avoid complex code and re-write the above as: // get an order from the orders table MyDataContext db = new MyDataContext(); Order order = db.Orders(o => o.id == 1); // The Value field is already typed as the "OrderValue" type rather than as string. // When a string value was read from the database table, it was implicity converted // to "OrderValue" type. order.Value.Shipping += 10; // save changes db.SubmitChanges(); In order to achieve this desired goal, I looked at the datacontext designer and selected the "Value" field of the "Order" table. Then, in properties, I changed "Type" to "global::MyApplication.OrderValue". The "Server Data Type" property was left as "VarChar(50) NOT NULL" The project built without errors. However, when reading from the database table, I was presented with the following error message: Could not convert from type 'System.String' to type 'MyApplication.OrderValue'. at System.Data.Linq.DBConvert.ChangeType(Object value, Type type) at Read_Order(ObjectMaterializer1 ) at System.Data.Linq.SqlClient.ObjectReaderCompiler.ObjectReader2.MoveNext() at System.Linq.Buffer1..ctor(IEnumerable1 source) at System.Linq.Enumerable.ToArray[TSource](IEnumerable`1 source) at Example.OrdersProvider.GetOrders() at ... etc From the stack trace, I believe this error is happening while reading the data from the table. When presented with converting a string to my custom data type, even though the implicit conversion operators are present, the DBConvert class gets confused and throws an error.   At times a Database Administrator, or even a developer is required to wear a spy’s hat. This necessity oftentimes is dictated by a need to take a glimpse into a black-box application for reasons varying from a performance issue to an unauthorized access to data or resources, or as in my most recent case, a closed source custom application that was abandoned by a deserted contractor without source code. It may not be news or unknown to most IT people that SQL Server has always provided means of back-door access to everything connecting to its database. This indispensible tool is SQL Server Profiler. This “gem” is always quietly sitting in the Start – Programs – SQL Server <product version> – Performance Tools folder (yes, it is for performance analysis mostly, but not limited to) ready to help you! So, to the action, let’s start it up. Once ready click on the File – New Trace button, or using Ctrl-N with your keyboard. The standard connection dialog you have seen in SSMS comes up where you connect the standard way: One side note here, you will be able to connect only if your account belongs to the sysadmin or alter trace fixed server role. Upon a successful connection you must be able to see this initial dialog: At this stage I will give a hint: you will have a wide variety of predefined templates: But to shorten your time to results you would need to opt for using the TSQL_Grouped template. Now you need to set it up. In some cases, you will know the principal’s login name (account) that needs to be monitored in advance, and in some (like in mine), you will not. But it is VERY helpful to monitor just a particular account to minimize the amount of results returned. So if you know it you can already go to the Event Section tab, then click the Column Filters button which would bring a dialog below where you key in the account being monitored without any mask (or whildcard):  If you do not know the principal name then you will need to poke around and look around for things like a config file where (typically!) the connection string is fully exposed. That was the case in my situation, an application had an app.config (XML) file with the connection string in it not encrypted: This made my endeavor very easy.   Hi, I want to synchronize two SQL databases. But since one of the databases only requires a subset of the data I am looking for a filter option. Is there a possibility to add a Filter to the SyncOrchestrator or do I have to add the filter to the SyncProvider? According to this: http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/uklaunch2007ado.net/thread/35d4deb8-a861-4fe3-a395-d175e14c353f it is not possible to filter with the DbSyncProvider. Quote: "I understand your scenario, and the hebavior of the DbSyncProvider is due to the current limitation. DbSyncProvider is built on top of the Microsoft Sync Framework that can support filtering. Unfortunately, DbSyncProvider does not yet." But that post is quite old, maybe that has changed now. However when running the report the viewer asks for a password to connect to the data source (in this case SQL Server). Does Crystal Reports have some way of embedding a connection password into a RPT file to avoid this? Or should I be using a System DSN from the Control Panel/ODBC thing to get around this? I figure someone else must have had this problem.

Cannot retrieve configuration table schema. (Microsoft.DataTransformationServices.Wizards) I can't seem to resolve this. The configuration connection has full permissions on the table, and it sees it and can read from it as it reports there is no current data for the filter I provide. It just wont write to it. A Google search of the error message above in quotes returns literally no hits! Any suggestions? Glenn

• Method 'SingleOrDefault' not supported by Linq to Entities

  I read other posts on similar problem on using SingleOfDefault on Linq-To-Entity, some suggested using "First()" and some others suggested using "Extension" method to implement the Single(). This code throws exception: Movie movie = (from a in movies where a.MovieID == '12345' select a).SingleOrDefault(); If I convert the object query to a List using .ToList(), "SingleOrDefault()" actually works perfectly without throwing any error. My question is: Is it not good to convert to List? Is it going to be performance issue for more complicated queries? What does it get translated in SQL?
