It supports high volume and complex message flows from multiple counterparties, delivering control, transparency and proven efficiencies. By achieving Oracle Exadata Optimized and Oracle Exalogic Optimized status, Sterci has shown that its GTExchange solution has achieved a 3.8 x greater throughput (nearly 4 million messages an hour), than any previous tests on comparable x86 systems."

  A new article in Oracle Magazine outlines a comprehensive defense-in-depth approach for appropriate and effective database protection. There are multiple ways attackers can disrupt the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data and therefore, putting in place layers of defense is the best measure to protect your sensitive customer and corporate data. “In most organizations, two-thirds of sensitive and regulated data resides in databases,” points out Vipin Samar, vice president of database security technologies at Oracle. “Unless the databases are protected using a multilayered security architecture, that data is at risk to be read or changed by administrators of the operating system, databases, or network, or hackers who use stolen passwords to pose as administrators. Further, hackers can exploit legitimate access to the database by using SQL injection attacks from the Web.   I'm using the latest PS3MediaServer build right from the repos suggested in the Ubuntu Wiki. I'm streaming multiple movies from my server (Ubuntu 10.04 LTS) to my PS3 over wireless. Sometimes, during some movies, the audio and the video will begin skipping. This can last anywhere between 5 and 30 seconds before it goes back to normal. I have a four core i5 processor and 8GB of DDR3 RAM so I don't think my computer is having a hard time keeping up with the transcoding. So this leads me to believe it's either sub-optimal transcoding options from within PS3MS or my network can't handle the heat. Other than the out-of-box configuration, is there any way I can tweak the settings for the application to use my resources more efficiently?

  In my opinion the biggest adoption barrier in performance testing on smaller projects is not the tooling but the high infrastructure and administration cost that comes with this phase of testing. Only if a reusable solution was possible and infrastructure management wasn’t as expensive, adoption would certainly spike. It certainly is possible if you bring Visual Studio and Windows Azure into the equation. It is possible to run your test rig in the cloud without getting tangled in SCVMM or Lab Management. All you need is an active Azure subscription, Windows Azure endpoint enabled developer workstation running visual studio ultimate on premise, windows azure endpoint enabled worker roles on azure compute instances set up to run as test controllers and test agents. My test rig is running SQL server 2012 and Visual Studio 2012 RC agents. The beauty is that the solution is reusable, you can open the azure project, change the subscription and certificate, click publish and *BOOM* in less than 15 minutes you could have your own test rig running in the cloud. In this blog post I intend to show you how you can use the power of Windows Azure to effectively abstract the administration cost of infrastructure management and lower the total cost of Load & Performance Testing.   I realize this isn't really a programming question, but didn't really know where to post this in the stackexchange and because I am a computer science major i thought id ask here. This is pretty unique to the programmer community since my degree is about 95% programming. I have 1 semester left, but i work full time. I would like to finish up in December, but to make things easier i like to take online classes whenever I can. So, my question is does anyone know of any colleges that offer distance learning courses for computer science? I have been searching around and found a few potential classes, but not sure yet. I would like to gather some classes and see what i can get approval for. Class I need: Only need one C SC 437 Geometric Algorithms C SC 445 Algorithms C SC 473 Automata Only need one C SC 452 Operating Systems C SC 453 Compilers/Systems Software While i only need of each of the above courses i still need to take two more electives. These also have to be upper 400 level classes. So i can take multiple in each category. Some other classes I can take are: CSC 447 - Green Computing CSC 425 - Computer Networking CSC 460 - Database Design CSC 466 - Computer Security I hoping to take one or two of these courses over the summer. • What is the problem git submodules are supposed to solve?

  What is the problem that git submodules solve well? When should I use them? Or rather what is their use case? The only use of submodules that I have seen 'in the wild' has been when used to share code between multiple repositories. From what I have experienced, submodules do not appear to be ideally suited to this use case. You run into git update submodule woes and your history gets filled with updating submodule pointer commits. If the 'sharing code' use case is not best solved by submodules, what problems are?

• kile does not get keyboard input, respond to Alt+F

  I use 11.10 with Unity. I use two kde apps a lot - kile and kate. Since the latest upgrade, I have observed two problems: a] I can never use Alt+F to select the file menu (works with other apps), yet when I press Alt, kile's menu comes up in the status bar. b] A few times every day, while using kile (haven't used kate as much recently), the keyboard stops responding (just in the 'editor' portion, rather than in structure-tree navigation). I cannot enter any text, but mouse works fine. I usually restart kile to continue working. One inconsistent way to reproduce it (multiple times today): I cut text from one open document using Ctrl-X switched to another document in the same kile window using Ctrl-Tab, then this happened. c] Sometimes, in kate, I can type in the editor but the keyboard won't work in the 'File open dialog'. How do I fix the above?

• Moving screenshots from 1 folder to another instantly

  I am hosting a gaming site and once in a while the server automatically creates a screenshot in the servers folder. Unfortunatly it is NOT configurable in the server settings where it puts these screenshots, it just allways dumps the PNG file in the server config folder. My folder structure is for example as follows: /home/Game/Server1/ now, what I would like to achieve is that once the server creates a screenshot in 1 of these server folders (I have multiple), the operating system moves the screenshot IMMEDIATLY (which is ALLWAYS a *.png file) to the webserver folder, for example: /var/www/Server1/filename.png So that players can see the screenshot on the website. Anyone any idea on how I can tackle this problem the smartest way? Please note that my ideal situation would be if the PNG file is moved immediatly after creation. Thanks for your help. Frank

• Acer aspire 5735z wireless not working after upgrade to 11.10

  I cant get my wifi card to work at all after upgrading to 11.10 Oneiric. I'm not sure where to start to fix this. Ive tried using the additional drivers tool but this shows that no additional drivers are needed. Before my upgrade I had a drivers working for the Rt2860 chipset.   I was recently told that using Enum: public enum TaskEndState { Error, Completed, Running } may have compatibility/serialization issues, and thus sometimes it's better to use const string: public const string TASK_END_STATE = "END_STATE"; public const string TASK_END_STATE_ERROR = "TASK_END_STATE_ERROR"; public const string TASK_END_STATE_COMPLETE = "TASK_END_STATE_COMPLETE"; public const string TASK_END_STATE_RUNNING = "TASK_END_STATE_RUNNING"; Can you find practical use case where it may happen, is there any guidelines where Enum's should be avoided? Edit: My production environment has multiple WFC services (different versions of the same product). A later version may/or may not include some new properties as Task end state (this is just an example). If we try to deserialize a new Enum value in an older version of a specific service, it may not work.

For example consider www.example.com/question1/ OR www.example.com/Question1/ OR www.example.com/QUESTION1/ etc. all lead to one page with say <link rel="canonical" href="http://www.example.com/question1/" > or a 301 redirect to www.example.com/question1/. Does this affect the page rank anyhow or its just for seemless user experience or there is some other reason behind this? Infact even stackoverflow/stackexchange does this. No matter what the text after the id of the question in url they redirect you to the correct question!

  Flash has come a long way in the last decade, and it's a well-kept secret getting a flash game to connect to a multi-client server for chat and/or basic avatar movement in real time. Why has the industry as a whole not made this a common-knowledge type of thing yet? We keep pushing to the web but I am finding it incredibly difficult gathering learning material on this subject. Sure, I can find multi-client server socket tutorials in various languages (using select statements and/or threads to handle multiple socket connections), but in regards to Flash applications inside of a browser? NOPE! Can everyone please share what they know? :] It's a subject I'd really love to get into but I'm afraid I just honestly don't know enough about how to do it. Thanks!

• How to Use RDA to Generate WLS Thread Dumps At Specified Intervals?

  Introduction There are many ways to generate a thread dump of a WebLogic Managed Server. For example, take a look at: Taking Thread Dumps - [an excellent blog post on the Middleware Magic site]or  Different ways to take thread dumps in WebLogic Server (Document 1098691.1) There is another method - use Remote Diagnostic Agent! The solution described below is not documented, but it is relatively straightforward to execute. One advantage of using RDA to collect the thread dumps is RDA will also collect configuration, log files, network, system, performance information at the same time. Instructions 1. Not familiar with Remote Diagnostic Agent? Take a look at my previous blog "Resolve SRs Faster Using RDA - Find the Right Profile" 2. Choose a profile, which includes the WebLogic Server data collection modules (for example the profile "WebLogicServer"). At RDA setup time you should see the prompt below: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- S301WLS: Collects Oracle WebLogic Server Information ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Enter the location of the directory where the domains to analyze are located (For example in UNIX, <BEA Home>/user_projects/domains or <Middleware Home>/user_projects/domains) Hit 'Return' to accept the default (/oracle/11AS/Middleware/user_projects/domains) > For a successful WLS connection, ensure that the domain Admin Server is up and running. Data Collection Type:   1  Collect for a single server (offline mode)   2  Collect for a single server (using WLS connection)   3  Collect for multiple servers (using WLS connection) Enter the item number Hit 'Return' to accept the default (1) > 2 Choose option 2 or 3. Note: Collect for a single server or multiple servers using WLS connection means that RDA will attempt to connect to execute online WLST commands against the targeted server(s). The thread dumps are collected using the WLST function - "threadDumps()". If WLST cannot connect to the managed server, RDA will proceed to collect other data and ignore the request to collect thread dumps. If in the final output you see no Thread Dump menu item, then it's likely that the managed server is in a state which prevents new connections to it. If faced with this scenario, you would have to employ alternative methods for collecting thread dumps. 3. The RDA setup will create a setup.cfg file in the RDA_HOME directory. Open this file in an editor. You will find the following parameters which govern the number of thread dumps and thread dump interval. #N.Number of thread dumps to capture WREQ_THREAD_DUMP=10 #N.Thread dump interval WREQ_THREAD_DUMP_INTERVAL=5000 The example lines above show the default settings. In other words, RDA will collect 10 thread dumps at 5000 millisecond (5 second) intervals. You may want to change this to something like: #N.Number of thread dumps to capture WREQ_THREAD_DUMP=10 #N.Thread dump interval WREQ_THREAD_DUMP_INTERVAL=30000 However, bear in mind, that such change will increase the total amount of time it takes for RDA to complete its run. 4. Once you are happy with the setup.cfg, run RDA. RDA will collect, render, generate and package all files in the output directory. 5. For ease of viewing, open up the RDA Start html file - "xxxx__start.htm". The thread dumps can be found under the WLST Collections for the target managed server(s).   I am quite new to game development, so here is a question (maybe a stupid one): In my sidescroller i have a bunch of different graphics objects that i need to draw (player, background tiles, creatures, projectiles etc). Most tutorials i've read so far show that each object has its own draw method, which is then called from some other method. What if I had one method that does all the drawing? Lets say i keep all my objects in an array or queue (or multiple arrays) and then go through each of them, get an image and draw it. So basically would it be better (and why) to have each object have its own draw method or one method that does all the drawing? Or does it matter at all? I feel like the second option is more comfortable, because then all the stuff to do with drawing would be in one place...

  I have an old Dell computer and I want to switch from windows xp and install the new ubuntu. I have tried multiple times to download it via cd-r but keep getting the same error message: unrecoverable error. The error happens after the menu which lists try ubuntu, install ubuntu, etc.It only gets as far as the Screen with a toolbar on the top that includes power, sound, and two arrows. That is when the message displays. switching to desktop version to find what the problem is( or something like that.) What is going wrong?
