• Howto bind a RoutedCommand in a child?

  I am having trouble binding a Command that is generated up the UI tree to a control. The following example illustrates my point, the CommandBinding in Grid does not act on the InputBindings in Window.   I am trying to use a variable from the code-behind page in a sqlDataSource WHERE statement. I am using Membership.GetUser().ProviderUserKey to obtain the UserId of the logged in user and I would like to only show record that have this UserId as a foreign key. How can I write the SQL for this?   I have a Project model and it has some text attributes, one is summary. I have some projects that have html tags in the summary and I want to convert that to plain text. I have this method that has a regex that will remove all html tags. def strip_html_comments_on_data self.attributes.each{|key,value| value.to_s.gsub!(/(<[^>]+>|&nbsp;|\r|\n)/,"")} end I also have a before_save filter before_save :strip_html_comments_on_data The problem is that the html tags are still there after saving the project.   I would like to send keys to a c# web browser control element directly, not just the window with the correct focus. Right now I am able to send a key using PostMessage and documentHandle and focus like this i.e. Pseudo Code HtmlElement el = getelement(); el.Focus(); IntPtr docptr = browser.Handle; PostMessage(docptr,WM_KEYDOWN,1,0); .... KEYCHAR, KEYUP.. I was wondering if anyone knows of any way to be able to do this in a background, so that the focus is not on the element. Basically is there a way to get a IntPtr to the HtmlElement itself, than use that instead in the PostMessage or SendKeys API rather than the browser handle/ptr.

  I have a WCF Web Service with basicHTTPBinding , the server side the transfer mode is streamedRequest as the client will be sending us large file in the form of memory stream. But on client side when i use transfer mode as streamedRequest its giving me a this errro "The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad Request" And when i look in to trace information , i see this as the error message Exception: There is a problem with the XML that was received from the network.   Hello everyone: How can I use sphinx to search french words which the entries in the db is actually english? The situation is: I have a ROR project with a table in the db called "categories", and the category names are in english, category has many "question" entries. In localization file config/locals/fr.yml, these categories were translated to french. Consider about expandability, we can't change the category names in the db to french. User can search by type part of the key word. Here is a example: Category Name: Health and Medical In french: Santé et médecine so how can I do this: type "Santé médecine abc" in the search field and sphinx will return the "questions" under "Health and Medical" category and have keyword "abc"?

• protobuf-net - backticks, Dictionaries & .proto files

  I'm trying to talk to a C# program that uses protobuf-net from an iphone using http://code.google.com/p/metasyntactic/wiki/ProtocolBuffers Unfortunately the .proto file I've been given (generated from the C# source code) includes an a line that protoc is rejecting: repeated Pair_Guid_List`1 Local = 6; It appears that this is because the source data is a C# Dictionary, with a Guid key and a class as the value. Is there a way to cope with this better? The protobuf-net version in use is r278.zip. (The C# sending and receiving these protobufs all works fine, it's just when we add the iphone into the mix that this becomes an issue.)

• Java interface to Windows communications? (OLE, OPC, DDE)

  I need to integrate an off-the-shelf Windows application with a Java application. At a few key points, I need the Windows application to send an "event" and some data to the Java application. The Windows application anticipated this need, and can be configured to "Poke a DDE Item", "Set an OLE Auto-Property" or "Write an OPC Item". I'm already using JACOB to call COM methods and set COM properties on a COM object. However, I'm guessing that's pretty unrelated to these "event" notification capabilities. Anyone have any experience calling FROM a Windows application to a "DDE Item", "OLE Auto-Property" or "OPC Item" that's actually in a JVM? Any pointers, advice, etc, would be appreciated.

• Any screen capture software that captures webcam, microphone inputs too ?

  I am going to conduct a user study. Apart from capturing the screen while the user is interacting with the system, I also want to capture the video/audio of the user. Is there any software that in addition to capturing the screen also overlays it with the webcam/microphone inputs. The goal is to capture the complete experience of the user: key/mouse interactions with the system along with their facial/vocal responses. I know that I can maybe run a screen-capture software and also run a software for capturing webcam audio/video alongside and try to sync/overlay both these streams with timestamps. But I am going to be dealing with probably several hundred hours of data. So I am looking for a tool that can streamline the process for me amap and help me keep my sanity at end of the process. • Serialize struct with pointers to NSData

  Hey guys, I need to add some kind of archiving functionality to a Objective-C Trie implementation (NDTrie on github), but I have very little experience with C and it's data structures. struct trieNode { NSUInteger key; NSUInteger count, size; id object; __strong struct trieNode ** children; __strong struct trieNode * parent; }; @interface NDTrie (Private) - (struct trieNode*)root; @end What I need is to create an NSData with the tree structure from that root - or serialize/deserialize the whole tree some other way (conforming to NSCoding?), but I have no clue how to work with NSData and a C struct containing pointers. Performance on deserializing the resulting object would be crucial, as this is an iPhone project and I will need to load it in the background every time the app starts. What would be the best way to achieve this? Thanks!

• Entity Framework - Medium Trust

  I'm trying to get the entity framework working in medium trust. I've tried splitting the files and using a separate assembly but I seem to have one problem after another. I moved the EDMX to a separate assembly, which causes a single .dll to be outpit to the sites /Bin directory. I'm referencing this as below from web.config. Whenever I try to access one of the entity classes, I get an ArgumentException: 'An item with the same key has already been added.' It's critical this works with medium trust, but I seem to be running out of options. Any advice greatly appreciated.

I just updated my local database with a huge amount of data and need to transfer a specific table to the production database. • Store and retrieve images from file system instead of database

  Hi I need a place to store images. My first thought was to use the database, but many seems to recommend using the filesystem. This seems to fit my case, but how do I implement it? The filenames need to be unique, how to do that. Should I use a guid? How to retrieve the files, should I go directly to the database using the filename, make a aspx page and passing either filename or primary key as a querystring and then read the file. What about client side caching, is that enabled when using a page like image.aspx?id=123 ? How do I delete the files, when the associated record is deleted? I guess there are many other things that I still haven't thought about. Links, samples and guidelines are very welcome!

• Why is my WCF RIA Services custom object deserializing with an extra list member?

  I have been developing a Silverlight WCF RIA Services application dealing with mock financial transactions. To more efficiently send summary data to the client without going overboard with serialized entities I have created a summary class that isn’t in my EDM, and figured out how to serialize and send it over the wire to the SL client using DataContract() and DataMember(). Everything seemed to be working out great, until I tried to bind controls to a list inside my custom object. The list seems to always get deserialized with an extra, almost empty entity in it that I don’t know how to get rid of. So, here are some of the pieces. Does it have anything to do with the other list of Transaction entities being serialized as part of the EconomicsSummary class (TotalAccountHistory)? Do I need to decorate the EconomicsSummary class members a little more/differently? -Second, where are the peculiar values coming from on that extra entity? PRE-POSTING UPDATE 1: I did a little checking, it looks like that last entry is the first one in the TotalAccountHistory list. Do I need to do something with CollectionDataContract()? PRE-POSTING UPDATE 2: I fixed one bug in TotalAccountHistory, since the objects weren’t coming from the database their keys weren’t unique. So I set the keys on the Transaction entities inside TotalAccountHistory to be unique and guess what? Now, after deserialization RecentTransactions contains all its original items, plus every item in TotalAccountHistory. I’m pretty sure this has to do with the deserializer getting confused by two collections of the same type. But I don’t yet know how to resolve it…

  In trying to call a method on the CodeMirror javascript code editor. I'm new to javascript and trying to understand how object oriented stuff works. I'm having problems calling what I believe are methods. For instance, var editor = CodeMirror.fromTextArea('code', options); editor.grabKeys(function(e) { alert("Key event");}); This gives the Uncaught TypeError: Cannot call method 'grabKeys' of undefined. Looking at the editor object reveals that grabKeys seems to be located at editor.__proto__.grabKeys. How should I be thinking about this?

• Assigning a group while adding user in django-admin

  In my application, I have models that have the Users model as a Foreign key, eg: class Doctor(models.Model): username=models.ForeignKey(User, unique=True) ... In the admin site, when adding a new Doctor, I have the option of adding a new User next to the username field. This is exactly what I want, but in the dialog that opens, it asks for a username and password for the new user; I would also like to be able to assign a group to this new user.   In our normal cooking, we substitute the vegetables for the gravies we prepare. When we start baking, we look for a good recipe. At least one or two ingredient will be missing. We do not know where to substitute what to bring same output. So we finally drop the plan of baking. Again after a month, we get the interest in baking. Again one or two lack of ingredient and that’s it. We keep on doing this for months. When I was going through the cooking blogs, I came across a site with the Ingredient Substitutes for Baking: (*) is to indicate that this substitution is ideal from personal experience. Flour Substitutes ( For 1 cup of Flour) All Purpose Flour 1/2 cup white cake flour plus 1/2 cup whole wheat flour 1 cup self-rising flour (omit using salt and baking powder if the recipe calls for it since self raising flour has it already) 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons cake flour 1/2 cup (75 grams) whole wheat flour 7/8 cup (130 grams) rice flour (starch) (do not replace all of the flour with the rice flour) 7/8 cup whole wheat Bread Flour 1 cup all purpose flour 1 cup all purpose flour plus 1 teaspoon wheat gluten (*) Cake Flour Place 2 tbsp cornstarch in 1 cup and fill the rest up with All Purpose flour (*) 1 cup all purpose flour minus 2 tablespoons Pastry flour Place 2 tbsp cornstarch in 1 cup and fill the rest up with All Purpose flour Equal parts of All purpose flour plus cake flour (*) Self-rising Flour 1½ teaspoons of baking powder plus ½ teaspoon of salt plus 1 cup of all-purpose flour. Alternatively in another pan, place brown sugar and water and bring to a boil without stirring. Now mix both the sugars and simmer in low heat until they come together as one thick syrup. Remove from heat, add butter and the extract. Use this in place of maple syrup. Store it in a fridge in an air tight container.   I was recently trying to use some code templates with Eclipse PDT 2.1 to speed up some common tasks. We use a lot of getters/setters, so I wrote the following template. function get${word_selection}() { return $$this->getData('${word_selection}'); } function set${word_selection}($$${word_selection}) { $$this->setData('${word_selection}', $$${word_selection}); } I named the template "getset" and the only way I know to use the Code Assist is to type: "getset" then hit my code assist keys (I have it set to Esc, but I think the default was Ctrl+Space). The problem is, this doesn't actually let me select a word to be used by the ${word_selection}. My question is: how do I type in my template name, hit the key combo, and have a word selected all at the same time?

  I'm developing an C# / .NET CF 2.0 application: it's supposed to be used with the touchscreen deactivated, then, I'm looking for a way to programmatically open the application menu (not the Windows menu).
