How to: Pass sensitive values Between ASP.NET Web Pages? (without first storing it in the database or using session variable).
page1.aspx --> page2.aspx
I don't want to take the time to learn Obj-C. I've spent 7+ years doing web application programming. Shouldn't there be a way to use the WebView and just write the whole app in javascript, pulling the files right from the resources of the project?
I'm wondering if it is possible using .NET to call a remote web service and in effect specify which IP the call is made on.
I'm consuming a service that limits the number of calls I can make based on IP. The service costs in the 20k range after the free limit is used up. I'm very close to enough calls but not quite there using the free service. My server has 3 IP so I could in effect triple the number of calls I could make to the remote service by changing the IP.
On most of my web site (http://sellsbrothers.com), the right-hand column where I keep the search bar and the ads stays on the right-hand side as I intended. However, on some pages (http://www.sellsbrothers.com/Posts/Details/12670), it doesn't. How do I fix the ones that don't? Thanks!
Simply, I would like to have an iPhone app that logs in to a web server with inputted username and password values and then maintains this login, so that the user can POST data to the server.
Is this just an issue of using cookies? If so, how do you perform a check to verify the user is logged in?
Thanks.
Is JavaScript allowed to call a remote web page during a click event?
When viewing the click in firebug, the call turns red (i.e. error) but I can't see the error because the page redirects.
So is it allowed to call a remote website (in my case, its a 1x1 image using a standard url like http://www.example.com/becon).
My web-app has to deliver db-generated content by email. The HTML need not include javascript but _does have to include images and CSS.
It's a safe bet that most users will be viewing this in Outlook. Are general guidelines different for html destined for email vs. IE?
.net System.Net.Mail does not issue SMTP quit commands in version 3.5 or lower. Although the problem is fixed in .net v4.0 RTM, unfortunately v4.0 cannot handle attachments in an email larger than 3-4MB's so I can't use it in my solution.
I was thinking of maybe rolling back to the now outdated CDonts found in System.Web.Mail. Can anyone confirm if CDonts mailing routines explicitly issues SMTP Quit commands?
I have a worker process that is running in a server with no web frontend. what is the best way to set up monitoring fot it? It recently died for 3 days, and i did not know about it
I would like a web interface for a user to describe a one-dimensional real-valued function. I'm imagining the user being presented with a blank pair of axes and they can click anywhere to create points that are thick and draggable. Double-clicking a point, let's say, makes it disappear. The actual function should be shown in real time as an interpolation of the user-supplied points.
Here's what this looks like implemented in Mathematica (though of course I'm looking for something in javascript):

Is it preferable to develop multiple steps form (80+ fields grouped into 5 steps) as single web page (tabbed) compared to page-per-step approach if users tend to complete form when started to populate?
What are draw-backs big single page and page-per-step forms usually have?
Thank you in advance!
What is the best, most reliable web resource for browser market share?
This is required to assess which browsers should be favored while building CSS and, more importantly, browser-exceptions.
For example, should I be buiding for FF3 or FF2, given that there slight rendering differences.
How to scroll down / up to the specific position by using JavaScript in BlackBerry web browser?
Are properties like scrollOffset, scrollTop, scrollLeft etc. are supported? If not what code can be used?
Akamai is way too expensive. Photobucket is not reliable. Is there a great content delivery network that I can use just to host my images?
We deploy images programmatically via FTP, so there is some programming behind the scenes.
Having some sort of reporting about the reliability of the service, whether it's raw logs files or a web-based admin screen that shows http errors, would also be important.
Has anyone worked with edgecast?
