  • MS Access Crashed an now all Form objects and code modules are missing

    I was adding a form to our Access 07 db. I copied an existing form to use as a template, renamed it, and saved it. I opened a different form to check something and Access crashed. When I reopened the database it says: "Access has detected that this database is in an inconsistent state, and will attempt to recover the database." etc. When it reopened - all forms and reports were missing. Saved queries remain. The error message states that object recovery failures will be noted in a Recovery Errors table - but this table wasn't created. The links to the be database remained intact. The database is split - I was experimenting with a form on a front-end copy which might have something to do with it. Any ideas what would cause this (I can see loosing recent work - but nixing all form objects?!) And is there any chance of recovery?

    Hi friends, i am building one app almost similar to contact management system...in which i have a detail view .. on pressing one of the table cells, a new view will be shown were the user can enter the new values and on pressing the save button the values will be updated in the database. On going back to the detail view the user should be able to see the updated values in the table cells.. or how can i update the values in detail view from another view...? i came to know that this can be acheived through Appdelegate objects ... but i couldnt understand wat is it or how it is done.... may be bcuz i am new to iPhone apps development... Pls can anyone explain me the process..

  • How to set up two models having a has_many association with each other

    I'm looking for a suggestion on how to set up two models, Teacher and Subject. A Teacher can have many Subjects, and a Subject can have many Teachers. Another thing to consider in the relationship between the two models is that a Teacher can create a Subject and add other Teachers to the Subject. I think I'm solid on the basics of the set up for each model: for teacher.rb: has_many :subjects for subject.rb: has_many :teachers and the teachers table should have a subject_id column and the subject table should have a teacher_id column. What I'm not sure about is how to set up the views (and corresponding controller methods) to allow the addition of a Teacher to a Subject. Any suggestions (or links to examples) are greatly appreciated. I haven't been able to find anything on this exact case.

  • Beginner SQL question(s)

    I am two months in to an intro sql course, it's late at night, and I am drawing a blank. I have two tables, one customers, and one orders. I have to increase any customers credit limit by twenty five percent for all customers who have made two or more orders in which each order is more than the amount of 250.00. I get how to UPDATE CreditLimit * 1.25 and Cust with an order 250, but how the hell do I get it to check if they have made two orders over 250? Second question, we are just starting to take subqueries, and I am having a difficult time getting it into my skull. Another question posed by the prof of our class is to increase the credit limit of a customer who has an order that exceeds their credit limit. (Credit limit is on a customers table, order and amount are on an orders table). I then take that customer and UPDATE his CreditLimit +1000. Thanks for any help.

    Hi all I wrote a control, and use a tool to do the code analysis. There is a test that I didn't pass. Avoid excessive locals, http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/ms182263(VS.90).aspx. In my CreateChildControls function, I built a big table with lots of field. I need to create a lot of TableRow and TableCell to construct the table. But these are not field or property of control. Thery are local variables in the function, which are created dynamically. Should I make these TableCells and TableRows as fields of the control? Or I just keep them as the local variables in the CreateChildControl function? Best Regards,

    I have a table MRU, that has 3 columns. (VALUE varchar(255); TYPE varchar(20); DT_ADD datetime) This is a table simply storing an entry and recording the date time it was recorded. What I wanted to do is: delete the oldest entry whenever I add a new entry that exceeds a certain number. here is my query: delete from MRU where type = 'FILENAME' ORDER BY DT_ADD limit 1; The query returns an error.     Hi, I am using php/mysql for a search. My table is 'height' and data type = varchar(10) which contains value like (5ft 2in, 5ft 3in,...and so on). While searching I got 2 values - height1 and height2 which are basically the ranges. How can i search in that table with the ranges? say - i will give ranges 5ft 1in to 5ft 10in and want to get the data between those values. I am using php. Please help me about this. thanks.

Month-----Book_Type-----sold_in_Dollars Jan----------A------------ 100 Jan----------B------------ 120 Feb----------A------------ 50 Mar----------A------------ 60 Mar----------B------------ 30 and so on I have to calculate the expected sales for each month and book type based on the last 2 months sales. So for March and type A it would be (100+50)/2 = 75 For March and type B it is 120/1 since no data for Feb is there. I was trying to use the lag function but it wouldn't work since there is data missing in a few rows. Any ideas on this?

    I've looked around and can't quite grasp the whole answer to this SQL query question needed to extract data from an MS Access 2000 table.     I am building a SQL Server job to pull data from SQL Server into an Oracle database through a linked server. The table I need to populate has a sequence for the name ID, which is my primary key. I'm having trouble figuring out a way to do this simply, without some lengthy code. Here's what I have so far for the SELECT portion (some actual names obfuscated): SELECT (SELECT NEXTVAL FROM OPENQUERY(MYSERVER, 'SELECT ORCL.NAME_SEQNO.NEXTVAL FROM DUAL')), psn.BirthDate, psn.FirstName, psn.MiddleName, psn.LastName, c.REGION_CODE FROM Person psn LEFT JOIN MYSERVER..ORCL.COUNTRY c ON c.COUNTRY_CODE = psn.Country MYSERVER is the linked Oracle server, ORCL is obviously the schema. Person is a local table on the SQL Server database where the query is being executed. When I run this query, I get the same exact value for all records for the NEXTVAL. What I need is for it to generate a new value for each returned record.     In my environment my Dev and QA Database Instances are on the same server. I would like to deploy the same package (or different versions of the package) into SSIS and set the filter to select different rows in the Config table. Is this possible? This is SQL 2005. For the sake of this question lets say I have one variable, which is a directory path. I would like to have these variables in the table twice (with different Filters applied (Dev and QA) as below (simplified) . . . Filter / Variable Value / Variable Name Dev / c:\data\dev / FilePath QA / c:\data\qa / FilePath Do I need to apply a change within the settings of the package in SSIS or is it changed on the job step within Agent? Any help would be appreciated.

    I have a table of names and ages that I want the user to be able to sort. When the page initally loads, sortList lists the rows in order from oldest to youngest, and then secondarily from A to Z. I want the same thing (a SECONDARY alphabetical sort) when the user actually clicks on the age <th>, but sortForce is making the alphabetical sort primary.     I'm looking for a small, fast (in both directions) bijective mapping between the following list of integers and a subset of the range 0-127: 0x200C, 0x200D, 0x200E, 0x200F, 0x2013, 0x2014, 0x2015, 0x2017, 0x2018, 0x2019, 0x201A, 0x201C, 0x201D, 0x201E, 0x2020, 0x2021, 0x2022, 0x2026, 0x2030, 0x2039, 0x203A, 0x20AA, 0x20AB, 0x20AC, 0x20AF, 0x2116, 0x2122 One obvious solution is: y = x>>2 & 0x40 | x & 0x3f; x = 0x2000 | y<<2 & 0x100 | y & 0x3f; Edit: I was missing some of the values, particularly 0x20Ax, which don't work with the above. Another obvious solution is a lookup table, but without making it unnecessarily large, a lookup table would require some bit rearrangement anyway and I suspect the whole task can be better accomplished with simple bit rearrangement. For the curious, those magic numbers are the only "large" Unicode codepoints that appear in legacy ISO-8859 and Windows codepages.

    I have a query with a sum in it like this: SELECT Table1.ID, SUM(Table2.[Number1] + Table2.[Number2]) AS SumColumn FROM Table1 INNER JOIN Table3 ON Table1.ID = Table3.ID INNER JOIN Table2 ON Table3.ID = Table2.ID WHERE (Table2.[Something] = 'Whatever') GROUP BY Table1.ID, Table2.[Number1] , Table2.[Number2] and it gives me a table like this: ID SumColumn 67 1 67 4 70 2 70 6 70 3 70 6 80 5 97 1 97 3 How can I make it give me a table like this, where the SumColumn is summed, grouped by the ID column? ID SumColumn 67 5 70 17 80 5 97 4 I cannot GROUP BY SumColumn because I get an error (Invalid column name 'SumColumn'.) COALESCE doesn't work either. Thanks in advance. EDIT: Just grouping by the ID gives me an error: [Number1, Number2 and the other column names that I'm selecting] is invalid in the select list because it is not contained in either an aggregate function or the GROUP BY clause.
