    I've hit a brick wall: I have an SQL Function: FUNCTION [dbo].[ContactsFTS] (@searchtext nvarchar(4000)) RETURNS TABLE AS RETURN SELECT * FROM Contacts INNER JOIN CONTAINSTABLE(Contacts, *, @searchtext) AS KEY_TBL ON Contacts.Id = KEY_TBL.[KEY] which I am calling via LINQ public IQueryable<ContactsFTSResult> SearchByFullText(String searchText) { return db.ContactsFTS(searchText); } I am projecting the ContactsFTSResult collection into a List<Contact> which is then given to my viewmodel. Here is the problem: My Contacts table (and therefore the Contact object created via LINQ to SQL) has multiple FK relationships to other information, such as Contact.BillingAddressId is an FK to an Address.Id. That information is missing after I do the fulltext search (e.g. if I try to access Contact.BillingAddress it is null). Can I add this information somehow via DataLoadOptions? I tried LoadWith<Contact>(c => c.BillingAddress) but this doesn't work, I assume because of the fact that I'm calling the function instead of doing the whole query via LINQ.

    I have built an ERP using Sql Server as a back-end. These are the different types of Client documents (there are also Supplier Docs): Order -- impact: BO Delivery Note (also used for returns, with negative quantity) --impact: BO, Stock Invoice --impact: accounting only Credit Note --impact: accounting, BO I use a complex system of self joins (at detail level) to find out the quantities in each OrderDetail that still have a backorder (BO). It'd like to simplify this using a [group] field that could be used through all detail line related to an original order. There are many difficult things to trace: a Return of a product may be due to a defect and thus increase the BO, or it can be just a return, joined with a Credit Note, and then has no impact on BO. My question is: do you know of any real good reference (book, web) for this matter ?

    My ViewModel: class ViewModel { public string FileName {get;set;} } and in my View I bind a label's content to ViewModel's FileName. now When I do drag-drop a file to my View, How can I update the label's Content property, so that the ViewMode's FileName also get updated via binding? Directly set the label's Content property won't work, it just simply clear the binding.

If I have an existing collection of Author objects, I want to fault in the books relationship for all of them in a single fetch request. Code This is what I've tried so far: NSArray *authors = ... // array of `Author` objects NSFetchRequest *fetchRequest = [NSFetchRequest fetchRequestWithEntityName:@"Book"]; fetchRequest.returnsObjectsAsFaults = NO; fetchRequest.predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"author IN %@", authors]; Executing this fetch request does not result in the books relationship of the objects in the authors array being faulted in (inspected via logging).     I'm writing a scorekeeping application for card game that has a few possibly-interesting constraints. The application accepts user registrations for players, then lets them check-in to a particular game (modeled as Event). After the final player registers, the app should generate teams, singles or doubles, depending on the preference of the person running the game and some validations (can't do doubles if there's an odd number checked in). There are @event.teams.count rounds in the game. To sum up: An event consists of `@event.teams.count` rounds; Teams can have 1 or more players Events have n or n/2 teams (depending on whether it's singles or doubles) Users will be members of different teams at different events Currently I have a rat's nest of associations: class User < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :teams, :through => :players has_many :events, :through => :teams class Event < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :rounds has_many :teams has_many :players, :through => :teams class Player < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :user belongs_to :team end class Team < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :players belongs_to :event end class Round < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :event belongs_to :user end The sticky part is team generation. I have basically a "start game" button that should freeze the registrations and pair up teams either singly or doubly, and render to Round#new so that the first (and subsequent) matches can be scored. Currently I'm implementing this as a check on Round#new that calls Event#generate_teams and displays the view: # Event#generate_teams def generate_teams # User has_many :events, :through => :registrations # self.doubles is a boolean denoting 2 players per team registrations.in_groups_of(self.doubles ? 2 : 1, nil).each do |side| self.teams << Player.create(self,side) end end Which doesn't work. Should there maybe be a Game model that ties everything together rather than (my current method) defining the game as an abstraction via the relationships between Events, Users, and Rounds (and Teams and Players and etc.)? My head is swimming.

  • How do I mock a custom field that is deleted so that south migrations run?

    I have removed an app that contained a couple of custom fields from my project. Now when I try to run my migrations I get ImportError, naturally. These fields were very basic customizations like below: from django.db.models.fields import IntegerField class SomeField(IntegerField): def get_internal_type(self): return "SomeField" def db_type(self, connectio=None): return 'integer' def clean(self, value): # some custom cleanup pass So, none of them contain any database level customizations. When I removed this code, I've created migrations so the subsequent migration all ran fine. But when I try to run them on a pre-deletion database I realized my mistake. I can re-create a bare-bones app and make these imports work, but Ideally I would like to know if South has a mechanism to resolve these issues? Or is there any best practises? It would be cool if I could solve these issues just by modifying my migrations and not touching the codebase. (Django 1.3, South 0.7.3)

  • Databinding to type double - decimal mark lost

    I have a project where I'm databinding a gridview to a list, where one column is databound to a gridview. The problem I have is that with the double being 5.5 on one computer it appears as 5.5 in the gridview. But on another it looks like 55, the decimal mark dissapears. So 3.14 will look like 314 etc. The error occurs with the following code: myDatagrid.ItemsSource = someList; Binding binding = new Binding("DoubleValue"); myColumnInDatagrid.Binding = binding; I've also tried using a very simple valueconverter, that just return the double, and parsed it in ConvertBack. I'm pretty new to WPF so I'm sorry if I've made some obvious mistakes, I just don't understand why it works on one computer but not on the other. Perhaps it should be noted that both of the computers use the same operating system, with the same language settings (afaik at least).

    Hi, I did some changes to my model (but I don't want migration yet, so I just remove the application, built clean etc.) so my application works in the simulator. However, when I run it on the iPhone, I get the following error: *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: 'executeFetchRequest:error: A fetch request must have an entity.' I set the entity like this: NSEntityDescription *entity = [NSEntityDescription entityForName:@"Document" inManagedObjectContext:managedObjectContext]; My managedObjectContext is not nil. But I suspect that it doesn't load the object model correctly or something similar because If I display the entities in the model, the list is empty. How can I make sure the model is loaded? Thanks,

In PHP my query is: "confirmation=$confirmation" The problem is that $confirmation = 'AB-CD-EFG-012345'; Apparently the hyphens are causing problems with the query and the exception thrown is: Uncaught exception 'Zend_Gdata_App_HttpException' with message 'Expected response code 200, got 400 Parse error: Invalid token encountered' How can I quote or escape the value to not cause parse errors? Single quotes cause the same error, double quotes don't throw errors but there are no results to match.

    I have a group of 13 properties in a class. I created a struct for these properties and passed it to another class. I need to add another 10 groups of these 13 properties. So thats 130 properties in total. What do I do? I could add all 130 properties to the struct. Will this affect performance and readability I could create a list of structs but don't know how to access an item eg. to add to the list: listRowItems.Add(new RowItems(){a=1, b=1, c=1, d=1...}); listRowItems.Add(new RowItems(){a=2, b=2, c=2, d=2...}); How do I access the second group item b? is it Could I use just a dictionary with 130 items Should I use a list of dictionaries (again I don't know how to access a particular item) Should I pass in a class of 130 properties Just for your interest the properties are css parameters used for a composite control. The control displays 13 elements in each row and there are 10 rows and each row is customisable.

    I have Decimal field in SQLserver 2005 table, Price decimal(18, 4) if I write 12 it will be converted to 12.0000, if I write 12.33 it will be converted into 12.3300. Always it's putting zero to the right of the decimal point in the count of Scale Part(4). I was using these in SQL Server 2000, it was not behaving like this, in SQL Server 2000 if I put 12.5 it will be stored as 12.5 not as 12.5000 what SQLServer2005 do. My Question is how to stop SQL Server 2005 from putting zeros to the right of the decimal point?
