• PHP mcrypt usage class?

  I'm pretty new at this. Tried to make sense of the manual page for mcrypt at PHP.net when I thought a good tutorial would do a better job. So I searched yet without anything substantial. I also tried one of the examples of using mcrypt to perform the encryption and decryption with 2 functions, but it gives a warning of "Size of key is too large for this algorithm". Can anyone please write me a two-way class to do the encryption / decryption using mcrypt so I can make sense of the library? Thanks!

• Modifying a column with the 'Identity' pattern is not supported in WCF RIA Services

  I've been following the walkthrough for creating your first WCF RIA Services Application from Microsoft and have encountered a problem when trying to edit and update data using the SubmitChanges() method of the Data Context. The table being updated has an Identity Specification set in SQL Server 2008 on the 'CourseID' column. However the PRIMARY key is a composite of two other fields. When using SubmitChanges() the application locks up in the browser an presents an unhandled exception. By handling this exception I managed to get the message: Modifying a column with the 'Identity' pattern is not supported. This is referring to the 'CourseID' column. Turning identity specification off solves the problem, but I need the auto-incrementing ID. In what way isn't this supported. Or where am I going wrong?

• setting jQuery .data() within .getJSON callback

  I'm doing a couple of .getJSON calls and if any one of them succeeds, I'm trying to set a bool to true so I can then do some other stuff elsewhere on the page. I was trying to use jquery's .data() function, but I don't seem able to set it from inside the .getJSON callback. for example: $('#citations_button').data('citations', false); $.getJSON(apaurl, function(data) { $('#apacite').html("<td class=\"bibInfoLabel\">APA Citation</td><td class=\"bibInfoData\">"+data+"</td>"); $('#citations_button').data('citations', true); }, "html"); // other .getJSONs look like above... console.log("citations? I thought this would work since .data() uses the cache to store the key/value pair. how can i flag successes?? appreciate any assistance!!

  I apologize if this has already been answered, but all the information out there on Facebook publishing is so confusing and conflicting, I haven't been able to get anything to work yet. I'm trying to set up an application that runs on my local server to publish content to my organization's fan page (this will tie in with my WCMS to cross-post content). I believe I want a Facebook Connect application to do this which I've set up properly in Facebook and gotten an application key and secret. Here's the code I'm trying to execute, but each time it's run I get "User has not authorized access" even if I'm just trying to publish to the application wall. • Crash when trying to get NSManagedObject from NSFetchedResultsController after 25 objects?

  Hey everyone, I'm relatively new to Core Data on iOS, but I think I've been getting better with it. I've been experiencing a bizarre crash, however, in one of my applications and have not been able to figure it out. I have approximately 40 objects in Core Data, presented in a UITableView. When tapping on a cell, a UIActionSheet appears, presenting the user with a UIActionSheet with options related to the cell that was selected.   When I opened up Visual Studio 2010 this morning, my Menu Bar (you know, the bar with File, Edit, etc. on it) was missing. I've tried all of the right-click menus, customize options, Function keys and Google searches that I can think of but to no avail. This is exactly the kind of humiliation that brings sobriety to my ever-growing ego as a developer. I'm actually posting this on StackOverflow.com for the world to see. Next, I will be just as humiliated when someone replies to this and tells me precisely how simple it is and how ignorant that I am for not knowing the simple key combination or finding it on Google.   Hi guys. I have this little question, thats been on my head for while now. Here it goes: Is it possible to temporary disable the Auto_Increment on the collum ID. So that i can add a new row to the table and being able specify the ID value when inserting the row. And then in the end enable the Auto_Increment again, and let do its work as usual? And if its possible how can i do it. The Table structure is very simple Collum Name (atributes) ID (Primary Key, Auto Increment, int, not null) Name (nvarchar(100), not null) Notice: The table name is: People. Lets also consider that the table already has data and cannot be changed. The database server is SQL Server CE. The SQL commands will be executed in a C# program, if its of any help. • Always handle the PreviewKeyDown event in a base form

  We need to handle this event in the base form, regardless of which controls currently have focus. We have a couple of global key commands that need to work regardless of control focus. This works by handling the PreviewKeyDown event in the form normally. When we add a user control to the form, the event no longer fires. Am I missing something trivial here?   Hi ! I have a problem which I dont have a clue how to work around. Maybe anyone of you could help me to the correct directions... Simple I have a UITableView with each cell containing a UITextField. When I´m editing a cell (UITextField) and hit Return Key, a new row is inserted under the current cell. After that I reloadData on the TableView, the new row is showed. Everything is OK here. Now to my problem, I want to [UITextField becomeFirstResponder] on the newest added row. But I could not find anyway to accomplish this. I could post code but didn't find that necessary. Cheers.

• Visual Studio 2008 - App_webreferences and dynamic urls

  When you add a web service reference in VS 2008 Web site project, you get a new folder in App_webreferences. This contains a disco,wsdl and discomap file. Additionally, you get a key/value pair in the web.config which contains the endpoint URL. Within the disco,wsdl and discomap files, the URL is strewn about leaving many places to change the url as we move from dev/test/stage/production. Why is it that when I change the URL in the web.config and perform an update on the web reference, the old URL remains in all three of those files? Why does it not get updated? Has anyone figured out how to manage this? Any insight is appreciated.

• Issue with WIC image resizing on ASP.NET MVC 2

  I am attempting to implement image resizing on user uploads in ASP.NET MVC 2 using a version of the method found: here on asp.net. This works great on my dev machine, but as soon as I put it on my production machine, I start getting the error 'Exception from HRESULT: 0x88982F60' which is supposed to mean that there is an issue decoding the image. However, when I use WICExplorer to open the image, it looks ok. I've also tried this with dozens of images of various sources and still get the error (though possible, I doubt all of them are corrupted).   Hello, I have a table called Table with columns: ID (int, primary key, clustered, unique index) TEXT (varchar 15) on a MSSQL linked server called LS. Linked server is on the same server computer. And: When I call: SELECT ID, TEXT FROM OPENQUERY(LS, 'SELECT ID, TEXT FROM Table') It takes 400 ms. When I call: SELECT ID, TEXT FROM LS.dbo.Table It takes 200 ms And when I call the query directly while being at LS server: SELECT ID, TEXT FROM dbo.Table It takes 100 ms. In many places i've read that OPENQUERY is faster, but in this simple case it does not seem to work. What can I do to make this query faster when I call it from another server, not LS directly?
